If you don't feel like doing art you don't need to do art. I draw whenever I feel like it and if not I don't. A lot of time I don't even draw for months xD

It's too tiring forcing myself to do art constantly. I find that even if I take a long break as long as its not permanent I'm suddenly pumped with new ideas and generally I draw better all of a sudden. But thats just me I guess, I don't know if everyone is like that.

But I see it in a lot of artists. Like manwha artists usually take months off before drawing panels again and most of the time their drawings suddenly improve.

Also art is exhausting and takes a lot of concentration and brain power. When u overwork your brain usually you do worse.

When people say do at least 1 drawing a day if you want to improve I think it's bullshit advice. If you're not feeling in the mood for it then the improvement is gonna be slow no matter what it is not just art. Your brain ain't gonna sink sht in if ur not in the right state of mind to take it in.

well that seems fine actually, it's mostly just the base colours. You want to get to rendering it with different depths of shading and lighting in order to make it look better with the colour

starting with lineart is such a pain

Especially in pixel art

Everyone is so supportive. For me my colouring can't keep up with the speed of improvements of my other skills so it's genuinely difficult for me. Idk where to begin when it comes to colours I need to practise just colour probably in more depth.

id advise you to study color theory and maybe also use some color palettes to have some sort of orientation as a transition

i used to be extremely insecure about choosing colors as well and working with them was really hard for me

if you work with color theory for a month itll will greatly improve your coloring skills :)

You can also try anaylzing how others do it by loading others' art in your soft and looking at the colors and how they relate to each other via the eyedropper tool

That's how I learned a lot of more nuanced things like how say, white hair is often actually has a slight yellow or blue tint

Or how to convey a light skin you can make the skin of a character very light, almost white, but then tone it down using the shadows by carefully adjusting the contrast and saturation of it in relation to the main color

Playing around with very limited palettes of say, just 3 colors like how Gameboy games used to do it can be very fun and rather educational too

A lot of artists use this technique, they will colour it in greys like pencil shading and refine that, then they will clip it and then add colours on another layer
Good colour theory includes that your colours should look great in Greysclae, I.e. that the colours look distinct but unified (I am bad at explaining this, sorry, but bear with me)
Like the contrasts and colours complementing each other

You will choose colours that will work with that background, so keep that in mind when picking the colour of the background base, it also helps in reducing eye strain and helps with lighting and shading

I personally choose grey because it is neutral and makes lighting easy

Tbf, whether it's art or not is debatable. What's not is that it's not THEIR art

All they did was write a simple prompt and choose a result, which takes some skill, but not nearly enough to actually make art like that, so you can't take full credit for it

It's a joint effort between the original developers of the model, you and most importantly, the AI itself

I mean, there's AI models that can create art in a child's drawing style, so it won't be too long before they can replicate literally any style

Even animation and even pixel art animation like what I do will be do-able for an AI probably within the next 5 years

If not sooner

Though being an animator I am a bit less likely to be put out of my job as soon mainly because with animations there's a lot more subtlety in terms of what the character is doing, but who knows. Depends on what the likely-to-come AI that does this kinda stuff outputs

Well yea, but corporate and companies already design new mascots or use just generic humans for their promo and stuff, so this isn't really something that'll impact anyone negatively.
It's not like they can just use Elysia to promote Youtube Red

AI will either way still make it easier and cheaper for them to increase the quality of their promo material and more

And make more of it

Their art departments will probably end up being just 2 people or smth

And if not, they can just do invitations of celebrites and influencers themselves anyway, since it has nothing to do with the art part of things

but ya, i think AI generate just gonna became it own genre of art eventually and settle down

this isn't the first time people read too much into a new tool show up and worry about thing

like when 3D model became more wide spread, people also saying that is cheating to use

I'd say this is a bit different since there's cheap automation involved, but I do agree that this is probably what's gonna happen.
I don't think it's impossible, but I still highly doubt that artists' jobs will be taken away on any real meaningful scale

Not to mention stuff like video games where, as I've said previously, AI generation tools are gonna go absolutely bonkers in the future (And heck, we already see it with upscaling textures and stuff)

Like, imagine an infinitely procedurally generating world except instead of more of the same, you can find entirely new cities with entirely new styles of architecture, new cultures and more

Or just making the act of creating games much cheaper and accessible

yes and give us more boring open-world games that became repetitive real quick and make you want to go back and play actual game instead

I mean at some point someone will make AI models that can not only generate stories, but incorporate them into games

So it won't be just infinite pretty views, but also infinite stuff to do

Ofc it won't mean such games won't get old, but it's still an intirguing prospect, I'd say

Such stuff is especially gonna be useful for VR games, which require extra effort and attention to detail in the environments

Gonna be like SAO where the world and quests in it are monitored and sometimes created by an AI system overseeing the entirety of the game
