Maybe I am wrong, but it seems like there should be "someone had done to you" instead.

Good catch! I think the wording there is a bit confusing in general and while adding "someone" can help, it starts to take it out of the original passive form intent there. I adjusted it to this:
...undesirable action that was done to you.
