Returned to RoR2 and tried out the DLC. Unfortunately, in irregular intervals (sometimes 30mins in, sometimes in the menu) it just crashes the system, straight to black->reboot.
Running Ryzen 5700x, 32gb DDR4-3000, RTX 3070, Win11.
This never happened before the DLC, didn't play for a few months though.
No other application is affected.
Is this a regular/known issue? Any fixes?

Your motherboard manufacturer will have bios updates available on their website. This is a delicate process, so if you have no experience with it you should first read up.

Well, my search for a solution ends. My mainboard is dead. Spare MB also dead. Done.
Great that this happened on the tuesday after black friday and cyber monday. Ordered a new computer, but much more expensive than it would have been yesterday....

Damm I'm having the same issue for like 2 months. But now I'm really afraid of trying the game again. No way I will risk losing my PC due this crash issues.
My PC specs are also very similar to yours, I run a RTX3080 R7 5800x, 32gb DDR4 and Win10

figured out my issue, my laptop has a feature where if it runs too hot it auto-shuts down. replaced the thermal paste which made it run fine for about three days but now it's back to crashing from overheating. fans are clean and I have a cooling mat underneath my laptop so it shouldn't be overheating as much as it is so idk what to do
