#Nerf Cremators

Maybe I'm bad, but I haven't even managed to kill one cremator yet. They are always a run ender for me. Also R.I.P to my drone army after a single cremator attack.
Cremators, my best advice is to not focus on them until every other problematic enemy is dead. Focusing on them while you have other enemies to worry abt will just get you killed. Patience is also key in defeating them, do damage, dip when they do their charge attack, repeat
Everything I said is also void if you just have stop watch as well
from my experience, other enemies are never the problem. In fact, I seem to die faster if I don't go for the cremator immediately (I get assaulted by 100 hot sauce packets)
cremator has only 2 attacks and both are telegraphed,
1 the ranged shot it shows the area that its going to hit the farther you are from cremator the easier it is to dodge. if your right next to cremator then its harder to dodge and more luck based.
2 the charge, this one you will need invulnerability to reliably dodge
they are pretty easy to beat cuz like all bosses they don't chase you so if you need to back out and heal do so
but yes they are a lot more difficult to beat with enemies around then without, even if they are not big problems they block bullets, pick of sprouting egg, etc.
honestly cremator is just a bad boss inherently
I dont think theres any nerf that could make it equal difficulty to other bosses
the way its designed just makes it inherently bad and if anything it needs to be a completely different boss
💀
like how on alot of survivors and lava pools you litreally only get like 2 tiles to stand on
to even be able to hit it
and at that point its impossible to dodge the artillery
and the spawn patterns are like
the most anti-qol thing ive ever seen in a game
and the shell blocking bullets along with the movement patterns with the dashes is just a poorly designed combination
especially since you usually have almost no dodging room
im not complaining that its too hard since the rng to get a beatable one isnt that rare its more the objective gameplay elements
it directly counters like
the player generally ie: the combat mechanics of the game and the map design)
super luck based boss, sometimes you get a spawn that youre like ok fine screw me i guess
The worst by far are overloading cremators, because for some ungodly reason, their exploding AOE attack procs the chain lightning. No other enemies have an attack that CARRIES the chain lightning along with it. It doesn't help that this particular version of chain lightning lingers for at least 2 seconds AFTER the attack's exploding animation finishes, making for a very, very, VERY oppressive long-lasting area-of-denial effect.
Overloading cremators are not fun to fight, and in most cases, straight-up impossible to defeat.
sigh. This is one of those "know your survivor" moments, a lot of survivors have Iframes the ones who don't are often tanky or have high dps. With the new maps there is only 1 variant that has a horrible place to fight them, for a boss that only spawns on one stage that has a 50/50 chance of spawning and even then has to spawn in place of Toxic beast or Worms I find it pretty fine. The only difference I see between this boss and most other bosses is that it can fight you no matter where it spawns. ( its has also been heavily nerfed. Back in the OG the cremator projectiles hit you if they passed through you on their way to the destination making dodging nearly impossible with out well timed Iframes)
hop back out of it? lava does a lot less than cremator does so that's the maps fault not cremator
thats dumb
its not about the fact that the lava will kill u
its the fact that the player is forced to enter an environmental hazard as an accidental consequence of the only way to dodge an attack
its a combination of both
the map isnt bad for having environmental hazards
but the cremator forcing you to enter them becasue your dashes that are required to dodge some of it's attacks depending on ur character leave you with no choice but to go into them
its just bad game design
sigh
it makes the boss feel
extremely
uncomfortable to fight
keep normal cremator
nerf overloading cremator
Ive had no issues with either
Cremators are scary until you learn how to fight them. Once you figure it out, they aren't very hard to deal with.
my point was, you cannot iframe over 2 seconds of lingering auto-zap hitbox because overloading applies to cremator's explosion attack. which it obviously should NOT, that's stupid as hell. Also, overloading procs from enemies DO go past invuln (yes, even past the ubrella), and that has been confirmed to be a bug.
i get your point and i agree it shouldn't have an after effect 2 seconds later, but my comment was about the normal ones
well, the normal ones are arguably WAY too tanky. they have very high armor value and they spawn in lava pools, possibly the toughest terrain to fight in. if they had less armor, I think it would be fine. also, their attack DOES NOT STOP, even if you are across the entire map. that, too, is an issue. no other enemy relentlessly attacks you, no matter where on the map you are.
in my monsoon multiplayer games, most people have a lot of trouble with cremators, no matter what class they're playing or how much of a god run they have going.
vagerant, toxic beast continues to summon
Worm
but they do not ATTACK you if you are not near them. and the toxic beast's summons do, in fact, have a range limit
at this point, we're arguing pointless semantics, overwhelmingly, people agree cremators are overtuned and NOT FUN to fight. only flying enemies are worse.
in my experience she will continue to summon no matter where i am, yes she stops placing them on me but then she makes an army next to her
again. not oppressive, not impossible to defeat, you can play around piggies. not so with cremators. run some 4 player monsoon games, and get an overloading (or any elite) cremator.
and also, if you have drones, kiss them goodbye fighting cremators. if you don't kill that cremator before it attacks, dodge/iframe him all you want, your drones will NOT.
I think drones use i frames if you use them
nope. try it out
they MOVE with you, yes, but they can be hit, specially if it's large aoe
I was doing as merc reflecting dmg my golem drone lasted me prety much the whole run
Only dieing after i got low
record videos, go frame by frame. don't trust your feelings.
that's all I can suggest. that, or think whatever. but do try to fight some elite cremators on monsoon, to understand why people have this thread.
Then nerf the elite a bit but dont nerf the normal, i have fought the elites, im more afraid of a normal worm than a normal cremator bc unlike the worm cremater gives me a 5 second head start form its attacks
And monsoon is meant to be difficult, imo nothing should be balanced around monsoon but it should be balanced around rainstorm (the way the game was meant to be played)
Otherwise remove rainstorm and have monsoon in its place
And dont nerf somthing bc a bug makes it op
the way you fight cremators is super lame and frustrating
but its not particularly hard to do
regardless i think they are just one of those enemies you just really dont want to see in a run bc of how much of a hassle they are
^ my point
its not that they are too hard its that they are uncomfortable
and unfun
like yah the lava doesnt do that much damage
u can win the fight
but that doesnt make it not suck
as a melee character especially
i think cremator are easy peasy, just dont be in the bombardment area
and if you're complaining bout the lava, unless you're slow ass bals to kill it, it shouldt be a problem
Tsk, tsk. All this pointless bickering, when I have already depicted the Cremator as the Soyjak and myself as the Chad!
Holy shit
the fact they fire across the map is good, and it takes ages to reach you
if anything you could argue their problem could be the opposite of it becoming undodgeable at close range
I mean like hugging range
I dont see the issue
Cremator is a support boss, there to support the enemies spawning and swarming you not so much to be a threat. Its a very unique boss that changes how you play and what you prioritize in a given moment
And incase of overloading i also dont believe they are that much of a nightmare unless you dont respect them at minimum range, they fire half as many mortars in the same spread so being hit by them is harder.
I dont think they are too strong, difficult or bad design just provoke a different approach that seems like ppl dont want to adopt
In a regular monsoon run you can't kill an overloading cremator or a lot of cremators with artificer without loosing a LOT of time, boss isn't hard but extremely annoying and boring
Half this chat is "the boss is unfun to fight because of these mechanics" and the other half is people responding "its not too hard, i agree those mechanics can be unfun but what are you talking about?"
It sucks
Like u missed literally the entire point
The solution to dying to cremators is
Take it slow 👍
Use an umbrella 👍
I think cremators are fun to fight because they are different from every other boss being oh i jumped one block up guess im imune to your dmg now hehehe. They force me to come onto their level
I don't think you understand
Most people saying nerf cremator aren't even dying to them
They want them nerfed because they control the stage by existing
The only times I've actually died at all even was playing with a friend trying to get him a stage log
And playing the worst loadout possible
Basically I asked to die lmao
cremators aren't that bad to deal with, you shouldn't be getting hit by the projectiles much, and the charge is pretty telegraphed
if there's one problem they have it's that (I think) you can get shotgunned by the projectiles
Most of the time when I get killed by a cremator its my fault
Like I didnt watch too hard where the projectiles were going and got hit by them
That or I get hit by a charge
yeah no overloading cremators are aids and clearly a bug. im pretty sure their projectiles didn't inherit the tesla coil effect in the original
cremators suck so much ass
way harder than any of the alternatives
just a run ender 99% of the time
how is them having a feature "clearly a bug"?
they deal disproportionally much higher damage than just about every comparable thing in the game, when you factor in how early they can spawn & the nature of their attack
i do think its likely not intended, or at least something that devs would instantly decide to nerf if they actually had a look at it
it also feels very inconsistent, sometimes it only hits hard and sometimes it decimates you from full hp when you arent even by the center
it wouldnt be as much of a problem but theres no real way to dodge it up close
so if you need to go close to the overloading cremator to damage it then asçldkasçldkasdlsa
I will agree overloading cremators are if nothing else insanely inconsistent
just seems like a stretch to call their lightning bombs unintended
initially downvoted
loses huntress godrun to cremator
upvote
I am 10,000% in favour of hard and interesting boss fights but cremator is solely annoying
were they a thing in the original game?
(no, they weren't)
yeah, but neither was their charge attack?
you couldn't be arguing in any less good faith by comparing a new attack that was deliberately animated and put into the game, to a pretty blatant oversight and unintentional interaction
okay, then let me pose this: if overloading cremators did not have their aftershock, what would be their unique elite boss behaviour? all bosses have altered patterns when elite, what would overloading cremators do?
your response to me was simply arguing they're unintended because they weren't in the original game
in the original, overloading cremators just fired less bombs but faster. this is arguably more fitting for something like frenzied, so they likely changed that behaviour to be more fitting to the lightning theme
and here again, you say they don't inherit it in the original as if that somehow guarantees it to be unintended. they would absolutely have not done that, given elite bosses are all hard-coded and not simply bosses w/ aspect effects like in ror2
overloading cremators are so hard because they lock down an entire area for much longer than normal cremators, but what do you expect from an elite boss?
I don't think its a bug considering I never saw/got hit by the overloading passive zap whenever I went through an overloading. and they didn't do much dmg anyway
I never thought the overloading effect changed all that much
It seems intentional and one of the admittedly better overloading interactions there is
Cremators themselves just suck
They arent hard when you know what you’re doing
They are just not fun
And very frustrating and laborious to deal with
I guess I'm just not seeing how, if you hit the head they die very quickly
The issue is getting the chance to safely
Theres not exactly a whole lot of safe ways to approach them
Especially when up close is the most dangerous place to be against them
I guess so, I just feel cremators are a boss that's actually different and that's what makes it cool
