#Acrid pronouns for consistency's sake

acrid literally unplayable
Incorrect, acrid is described as a ‘he’ in ror2. It’s definitely canon that acrid’s male at this point
least useless rorr feedback
We should be thankful that he is a considered a male who knows what might have happened if it was the opposite
does it really matter what acrid is referred to as when they probably have 17 different plagues to give u
they're going to KILL u ! !
i mean, he's an intelligent creature, so kinda yeah
an intelligent creature with flesh-melting acid
drifter strangles people to death, i still respect her
drifter consumes god to turn him into scrap
Damn, I wish people were as concerned with interstellar desk plant still being shit as much as this person is concerned with pronoun consistency of a fictional animal.
When will they buff it already, it's been 10 years and it's still the worst red item
What? There’s no other subject mentioned in the log for the ‘he’ to be referring to, excluding the few lines at the end that refer to the thing that broke him out (commonly theorized to be void fiend).
Also, they only call him an ‘it’ when they’re trying to highlight the fact that he’s a genetic monstrosity.
Thanks for the useful feedback
bruh
find something else to be upset about, acrid isn't even real

get upset about desk plant or something like someone else said
I always liked describing acrid as "it" because it helps accentuate Acrids idea of being a very foreign, alien, entity & force and I think that concept is pretty cool. 🙂
Well, despite the thematic ideas, they’d have to retcon ror2, something they can no longer do
oh yeah forgor
ror discord try not to bully and gatekeep feedback challenge (impossible)
its a valid feedback post
its just a consistency thing for lore ppls, so quick to make it smth political
the he in acrids log is some random person locked in the void. "something was leaking" and the thing "that could not be contained" was acrid.
it's not, it refers to acrid as he was released from the cell and juiced with information
the log explicitly doesn't mention any surrounding people, and acrid is the one who was in the cell, and the log mentions "in his juice-gem" state, which can only apply to the thing in the cell
yeah it does say "But he knew – that the strange crustaceans that scrambled his atoms and imprisoned him here, in a place unknown – were panicking. Something had gone wrong, in a world where variables were not allowed."
Acrid is He/It
Thats their pronouns
No different than He/They or anything like that
Idk why this is an issue
Either way of reading it works. Whether its the POV of Acrid in the cells or if its someone else.
As long as the general gist of “Hey, shit got fucked up due to some guy in the void”
Its all good and fine
Acrid isn’t only described as “he” in ror2. Both of Acrids ending messages say “and so it…”
Again, simply highlighting the fact that he’s a genetic monstrosity, ignoring his identity for the thematic comparison to a monster
The point is, referring to acrid as male is correct
Yes, not saying it’s not. Just saying referring to Acrid as an it would also be correct.
I don’t think that the endings simply ignore the identity of the survivors for thematic purposes, as they are reflective of the gender identity for the rest of the cast including MULT who is an “it”
Fair enough, both can be valid
To be honest I just thought it was simpler to assume acrid has one set of pronouns for convenience’s sake
Feedback like this makes me glad hopoo sold the IP
acrid is it
it is cooler
it makes acrid special
differentiates it from the rest of the cast
acrid being called it makes thematic sense as the only person to refer to a rid is its captors, showing that gis only name is related to hs past as an animal testing victim
if acrid's ending quote was "...and so he left, wanting to be left alone." it would hit no where near as hard
plenty of people will alternate between calling an animal "it" and "he"/"she", this is kind of just that
This is not "the first time in the Risk of Rain series" where this has happened, because THIS GAME IS A REMAKE OF ACRID'S FIRST APPEARANCE! HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN MALE!
Gamers when a character has multiple pronounce (oh my goodness gracious)
Are you lost? This is Acrid chat
yea just noticed
LOL
which is why i deleted lol
