There is a minimum amount of info that they have to have public just because they are using steam. However, they have a margin to decide that they dont want to make some info available. For example, we used to know when they created a new branch and what name they give it, which could lead to speculation. But now they hid that information. So no, i wouldnt say it is like datamining at all, the available info is normal info about the operation of Steam and we usually know about it after the fact

I am careful with that too. I have fun doing that, but I dont want to spoil stuff that would upset the team. I know they dont want to (nor have they the obligation) tell us when they start to work on a DLC, but it is after the fact, so I consider it fairplay. Other stuff, I may keep it to myself until it seems fair to share
