my understanding of boss skipping is that if you have a projectile or something inside of a boss's hitbox while it spawns, the game will spawn the boss as a normal enemy and I believe the boss will be considered defeated.

People like to do it with the alloy worship unit to get the legendary without having to go through the whole fight for example.
