yo guys just closed my 2nd eclipse on louder, my main advice on last mitrix stage if u have strong build (with like items polilyte(void ukulele), plazma shrimp) just hide behind pillars he gonna damage itself, let drone do that job.
i mean yea but that takes too long
personally i find it easier just to walk around mithrix in a circle and being cautious of his attacks/when to attack
if you have the alternate grapple with loader you can just chip at him until he gives your items back as well
Phase 4 isn’t that scary it’s literally just 2 attacks. At this point I believe people are dying to phase 4 out of fear instead of the difficulty.
True my last p4 death was because I was too focused on hiding behind a pillar and getting jumpscared by mithrix who at that point was already too close to avoid

Melee merc may be a bad example but was the only one I had.

Only bug I could think of is how laggy the moon get thanks to void item for some reason. Other than that it’s been pretty dry.

Yeah, from what I’ve seen it seems to be void crit, exploder(the enemy) something else that’s causing this. But I did also recently discover that if a void reaver kills an exploder it will also cause the lag.

It could be that the game can’t figure out if the flame exists or not, therefore making it create it and destroy it constantly.

Use poison and the range abilities, try to not go melee range, poison everything with the secondary and/or the special ability and just run, poison at minimum will deal 10% of the target HP over 10 seconds but it doesn't kill so slowly but surely you will kill all the enemies in around 100 seconds.

just gotta dodge tho if you died at the start of commencement staying near the ship to kill all the perfected chimera helps as well
Nah, I wouldn't worry about time until you're pushing 60 minutes by stage 5

I say 10-30 fps, 10 being when the stage is overflooded with enemies. But it does depends on what standard you have tho. One thing I do wanna point out is that the switch really good at not crashing.

I have had it crash on both attempts to go to the voidling after defeating mithrix in a looped run

My pc crash more often than the switch, gearbox must have done some dark art or something.
Gearbox putting all the points in crash resistance and completely ignoring performance and bugs when levelling the switch

On another note, found a weird glitch, using royal capacitor on this stage (possible related to void seeds) can change the lighting of the entire stage

Yeah, since you aren't able to consistently run at high frame rates, some of the more precise tech are harder to do, but are still very doable
oh yeah i think that's the reason why i can't do it constantly on high stages
I’ve been able to do it semi consistently when I’m actually focusing. Normally I just do it lazily in melee range, only doing full transfers when the enemies are far away.
But sharing our finds is fun 🥺
imo switch not crashing doesn't mean anything if the game cant even run at a consistent fps

I mean personally I prefer being reassured I wont lose my run if I go just a bit longer than being reassured the game runs at a stable rate

Oh my GOD the glitch that makes void infectors stuck in the stage geometry in scorched achres is so infuriating, like that entire part of the stage is just locked out of me and I csnt get the void cradles, and if the teleporter is there I just have to abandon the run 😭

The eclipse grind really boosted my lunar coin count. I used to have around 330 lunar coins at November 8 now I have almost 1500
apparently chris himself was on a bit of a crunch, i wouldn't be surprised if the dlc was a bit rushed as well

I know nothing about actually producing music but ending at February for something not released for far longer seems kinda cut short

probs making game music has a stricter deadline since the the programmers have to code in all the individual stems of any given song to get it to sound right in game
like to make sure the song loops correctly or has a clean transition like how mithrix's song transitions with each phase

admittedly its been a while since i last played ror2 so im not sure
I've spent the last hour or two just going through the bug list and polishing it up, any typos, more clear and understandable language for some notes. And I'm kinda in this dilemma which is tearing me apart. The verdant falls update had only 4 bug fixes noted down for it but we know that it fixed some other stuff than that, which leads me to ask if I should mark some bugs, mostly pretty specific ones, that haven't been seen since as uknown?? What if they're just really rare, what if they just didn't tell us they're fixed

Honestly for me there’s only a handful of bugs I’d want fixed for me to be satisfied
But I low-key want changes like Rex’s abilities fixed for eclipse or a buff and some item tweaks way more
It always felt to me like there was meant to be a tier between greens and reds with how shitty some greens are and how game changing some reds are and how absolutely nothing others are
Makes me question on how the new dlc will tackle balancing because sotv certainly made the game a lot easier.
I personally hope that the path of the colossus is gonna be a considerable step up in difficulty
In their second dev diary they also mentioned that shattered abodes will be a bit harder than its peers because of the lack of cover so they are definitely accounting for the boons and banes of stage layout
Speaking of cover. Whenever I watch a yt video I can just see people…. Run, to avoid the stone titan laser but on my game it seems to stick onto my character no matter what and no matter how fast I go

Because like, even with a merc dash it just seems to be stuck on me all through it, Gonna have to test it when I get home because I never get this
so, if you're close to the titan, don't dash through him, just run in a circle around him
you should be fast enough to dodge the laser in you never stop sprinting

As the long the host got good wifi and the distance isn’t on the other side of the world (which shouldn’t be a problem for you) it should be no delays or desyinc.
As it being switch it is of course gonna be laggier, so character like railgunner is practically a new difficulty(especially with the extra multiplayer lag). More monsters and projectiles=lag. But the switch refuses to crash even with all its limitations tho.
I haven’t looped so much on multiplayer but it could probably handle 10-20 stages if someone doesn’t got a ridiculous build. Exp is shared across all player like pc.
(Exp is short for experience, they meant what the switch experience is like 💀)

Not consistently, it’s a thing on pc as well and it seems to just very rarely happen if the client and host die in a specific way. I could be pulling this one out of my ass but it seems like it might be more common as void fiend ?

Got a stage 1 with two crit printers, an energy drink printer and three scrappers?? Feels weirdly unnatural
It always feels so wasted whenever there a good printer on stage 1 instead of the higher stages, three scraper is a bit unusual tho.
Risk of rain giving me three scrappers on stage one rather then a single scrapper on stage 4 or 5

Relatively bad but it makes up for it by being EXTREMELY resistent to crashing
Bugs used to be quite crazy but in the current update you wont really notice most of them unless you know theyre there
I mean aiming is just a matter of practice
Getting the hang of soft tilting the stick is definitely a huge help with aiming

motion controls is a sick addition.. and ive never had too much trouble with ror2 on the switch.. people meme, and before the dlc drop the multiplayer was a bit dead.. and after the multiplayer was unplayable due to connection issues in the coding, not sure if they have fixed that yet or not..

Well multiplayer did feel a bit scuffed at the beginning though that mightve just been because my only memory is of a run with some guy from japan which for me is on the other side of the world
Though it also quickly got better
interesting, i connected with several people on the switch release and we would get through 1 map and then the connection would drop between that map and the next.. i've got a hardwire connection and this was every game i connected with.. still love it for the single player though.. also just checked to see if there was an update, there was not.. kind of disappointing on that note

the ongoing problems since the dlc drop, these channels were full of anxious folks waiting for news on that dlc for the consoles for well over a year, and the wait was being strung along by the promise of reworking the entire coding... which i can not confirm if it was or was not done.. not to mention that not 1 update to fix problems since dlc drop and itll be a year in 2 and a half more months... all in the meantime returns was released and no sooner than the dlc drop was there talk of a new dlc being released for ROR2...
TLDR; great game, good buy on PC.. id recommend purchasing on consoles after the problems are worked out, and all content is available.

And most other significant bugs have either been toned down drastically or been fixed entirely

The only 4 actual impactful bugs I can think of rn is the moon lag bug, the doubled item effects, some clipping issues usually only seen on mithrix and phantom collision

They built console from the ground up
If gearbox didnt care about syncing sots up for console and pc then pc players would probably already have it
who knows? facts and experience tells me that, in good faith, i can recommend the game on PC... and id not send someone in to be disheartened by something that is in fact out of either of our hands.

They literally took so long with sotv so that they would be able to stamp out bugs and sync up versions faster and better

I can't speak about the preformance but as the person that spend probably a hundred+ hours documenting bugs through various iterations of the game versions, this one is WWAAYYY better then anniversary for example
The devotion update after the dlc update fixed the majority of bugs introduced in that version
Idk if I'd say majority, I mean they only listed down four bug fixes and we know of two others that are confirmed by the commiunity to be fixed

After all pot rolling was never an intended feature and is also not used by most people
And actual pot transport ways like the primordial cube still work
Admittedly the amount of bugs they fixed is kinda worrying, especially since they said they're working on a patch for bugs since like day 2 of the console dlc and it fixed like 6, maybe? After like 6ish months
But there's only a handful of major bugs that need to be prioritized

This means you can store It. With combination of hopoo feathers being way better than normal jumps in every way, storing the headstompers boost/running off the ledge and then using the double jump with the headstompers boost gives you ABSURD height, and I think it's a pillar skip? Even if it isn't I think it let's you get max headstompers value no matter what? Or very close
Smarter people than me like cap could probably find some crazy tech with this, I already find it nice for proccing wax quail with headstompers

Yep, the shockwave can go up the ramp around 3/4 of the ramp so if you are down that range you will get hit.
Especially right now because it can carry you twice.

I am here to confirm... The lost seer glitch is run wide for all players. A PS5 player doesn't get hit as bad as I did but it still tanks it like crazy

I DID IT, I FOUND IT. THE ANWSER. Ok so I've had a theory. And it has been proven correct. Along with FURTHER confirmation from seeing Mr John's Diablo footage from a month ago where the lag "freshly kicks in". Recently ronny brought up how there's a 2nd instance of the bug that causes the moon to also lag heavily but only during the escape sequence but nobody could pin point why it happens so the conclusion was just "must be something to do with void items" BUT WE WE WERE FOOLISH!!! SO FOOLISH. THE ANWSER WAS RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES. IT'S THE EXACT SAME THING AS LOST SEERS

Whenever I go peep in the pc bug reports chat I always see people posting logs and most of the times it's just the game repeating an error loads. I'm assuming pc just has a fail save in this scenario where it stops trying to force it where console doesn't

Tbh I use either the middle ring or take the longer but safer route of going over the chains and the mass pillar cave
Though I lean more towards the mass pillar cave route because I dont feel as pressured with all those cover options nearby
Though my pathing can probably be optimised because I pretty much only play captain which limits the amount of gaps I can cross safely
I did a bunch of experimenting with headstompers and I FINALLY found out why it does the weird particle effect when falling and holding jump and how the jump height boost ACTUALLY works

The jump boost is a actually just a bif momentum boost upwards, like an extra jump, that triggers on the 2nd frame while inputting jump and tries to do so what I assume is also every other frame, and it can only preform the boost once per jump and can be stored to any point in space as long as you don't jump. This means that you can store it for double jumps by falling off edges or doing a one frame jump input. Or it can be used while a waterfountain or mushroom launches you up but this doesn't work when falling downwards. This is because it can ONLY Initiate while having upward momentum, if you fall off an edge while holding jump you can notice that the game will REPETEADLY leave a trail of headstompers jump particle effects behind you, the game keeps TRYING to give you the boost but It cannot, so if you use a commando slide during it, you'll initatie the boost. If you hold jump and run up a rough slope, it will initiate the boost. So if this all adds up it could lead to some intresting tech. Stacking headstompers with ion surge, rising thunder. Maybe even if you're below a vagrant and use your gountlet upwards, youd be able to get an ABSURD amount of heavy damage.
This could, potentially, stack with ANY upwards momentum from any source for maximum headstompers value
ARRGH but does it even matter if headstompers is gonna go back to its usual jump height, I keep forgetting it's absurd on console. None of this matters!!!!

I tired looking everywhere I could and I couldn't find anything explaining the jump boost indepth or take advantage of it's inner working to this extent. You're like, the tech guy, so you'd probably know this
The more I play around with this the more crazy it seems. As commando he can do this on nearly any geometry that's even slightly sloped or angled

@coral timber executive card technically has like a second or half second cooldown. If you try and spam interact with all three parts, you might hit the second one while the card is on cooldown and close it before you can get the third

Can't tell if this is intentional since it stayed in the game for so long and didn't get addressed in the patch notes. Is it still in the game on pc or did they intentionally do it?

God no, platforms wouldn’t allow that, even if they did they would need to build their own integrated modding platform, have people USE it, people actually have to go through the effort of porting mods, and then bug testing and extra development fixes

But it’s an issue especially on console because you have to scroll through a menu with a controller and on looping runs it gets to the point where it’s almost never worth it to scrap because of the length of scrapping items. I’m not trying to say you’re wrong I’m just saying it’s a valid complaint to have about the design

The mod on PC does allow up to 4 so it's probably still exist somewhere the in the game's code but I'm guessing the devs tested 4 player and realized it was too much and decided to limit it to 2

The next gen upgrades **are **named next gen upgrades for reason. I would imagine whenever the announced Switch Successor which we will hear from soon there's a chance we could get all the same/similar upgrades and features the PS5 and Xbox is currently getting.

Switch doesnt have built in achievements so games would have to implement those into the game itself
Old gen PS4 and XBOne isn't really receiving the extras that the PS5 and Xbox are getting its just hardware limitations. the switch is still getting the DLC (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG) but like I said B4 there's always a chance for some kind next gen upgrade for Nintendo's Switch Successor.
