I'm kinda pissed. I've been trying to accomplish Captains "smushed" for a week now. I watched several videos and got an idea of how. But the game keeps on completely screwing me over.

From what I saw, the basic idea is rush moon, then use lunar pods for shaped glass, and you need at least 4. However, no matter what I do, unless I want to get all 4 from bizarre, I can only get 3. Each time I get to moon, it either doesn't spawn enough pods, or they all drop lunar equipment. Wtaf?

I just did one I'm going to have to quit. I got 2 from bizarre, went to moon, only found 2 pods, and one was equipment. I'm screwed over once again.

Yes. I figured relying on just lunar pods at moon would be a bad idea. Typically I get 3-4 to spawn. So I thought if I grab 1 from bizarre, I get 3 from pods no problem. But that run 3 out of the 4 pods gave equipment, which is some crazy bad luck. So this run I thought if I grab 2 from bizarre, SURELY I must be able to get 2 from pods, but NOOOO, game only wanted to spawn 2 pods, like wtf? Why? I thought monster hunter had bad RNG, but this is getting ridiculous. And getting all 4 from bizarre is too dangerous even on drizzle, because there's a good chance I'll have to do pillars. It's just kind of bs because Im wasting all my lunar coins for nothing

From what I saw, the intention of the videos I watched is to let him take glass, then wait until he cycles through his moves and does the center jump, and time it for that moment. He is very slow in final phase, so he won't be able to run, but, because of that, you can't really run many steel plates or defense, and you don't want to run anything else that might auto kill him via some proc, such as the green missile launcher or bands. So that's why it's scary running 4 glass earlier.

As far as reds, there is a supposed glitch with duos as captain: dying will reset beacons. Considering that beacons can only be used once per stage each, that's valuable. You get 4 chances instead of 2, so you can try to do it twice before he takes glass.

None of this matters if I can't get 4 glass AND make it to him.

the way the director is on switch still doesn't feel right imo, at least when i play groups of enemies spawning, especially with elites spawn all the time and then when i watch pc players on youtube it seems like nothing spawns compared to switch

When one elite is supposed to spawn sometimes console confuses the nonelites to become elites

Yea that's kinda rare but it happens on both

On console more elites spawn, elites are stronger so enemy's feel way stronger

Everything feels different you will die alot ( I died stage 1 on my first dew runs on pc) but it isn't cause your bad it's because console is different

Welp, fun fact, if you don't kill things fast enough the director kills enemies for you if they accumulate too much but the director takes the credit of the enemy that just kills grab the credits available that it has and makes a higher threat enemy spawn.
In short:be aggressive and kill things fast so the game/director doesn't spawn bosses/big enemies for free in the early stages.
