Question:
To play multiplayer, do all party members need the same mods, or are there such things as clientside mods?
there aresome clientside mods, like ui mods n stuff, but anything that adds content must have parity between everyone in the lobby
Right, cause I'd like some mods such as ones that give more item details, and the one in this reply for the stats so I'd hoped it was clientside

right so, i had Aerolt installed, and apparently that was why i couldn't join any multiplayer games nor people could join me. it says it's client-side and server-side
everyone must have the same mods installed if you're not using an unmodded version
disabling it lets me join and vice versa, but i just wanted to know whats the difference between server-side and client-side
i downloaded it off of mod manager so i can't tell

- gold never goes down buying stuff, so it always goes up until next stage, where it totally resets.
- infiskills, no cooldowns, and items being picked up by the tens
- e8 TAAO
- Damage set at 92 bill+ via the power of, well, ya know

A good rule of thumb for hosting with mods in multiplayer
If the mod is tagged as server-side or skin, just install the UnmoddedVersion mod
If it's tagged as client-side, then you don't need to do anything
If it has none of the above tags, all clients will need the same mods and config
Some mods are old, so they may not have the needed tags, so in that case read their thunderstore pages
You can also make sure your friends have the exact same mods and configs by using profile sharing with R2Modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager

iirc, the one who made EV asked for the mod to be deprecated so they could balance it out later
Mystic made it, he handed it off to Slipstream's team after I asked if we could take them
he's got no more interest in working on it directly
literally perfectly balanced apart from maybeeee aspect abilities
it might be balanced but some of the elites do not feel very fun
or like a proper challenge to your run

I'd just hope tinkering elites and sandstorm elites retain their imposing nature after the rebalance.
Though the scariest thing about sandstorm elites was their tornado charge

for EliteVariety, were erythrite bugged for anyone else? they would appear pre-loop constantly and ruin runs so much that my group uninstalled the mod awhile ago

he has to be as an enemy, as a character he's great
as a whole he is not properly balanced
he functions, but he is far from being finished
I've never had an issue with him directly (moreso item rolls) so
every time i fight him, unless I have a busted build, he just destroys me and my gang
He's balanced in the terms of dps checks and being able to out damage his regen, though his dps from items can be absurd
But that's what you get for a primary that procs bands and Templar special
a difficult fight is a difficult fight, but when I get oneshot from a mile away on stage 3 it's a little ridiculous

Cool, you got a Tri-Tip that you'll never be able to proc as often as Captain without a bunch of syringes
She just needs more than anyone else
she really does not, I promise you
And damage judging is done without items since it's a baseline
ofc shit would change when you factor in items, but if you do then you factor it in on all other comparisons
As a person who's used every character extensively? Yeah, she does
The only thing she doesn't need right off the bat is mobility items, as she already excels in that one department
which just so happens to be the most important stat in the game
good mobility is key in this game
No, good damage and procs is
Mobility is secondary
MUL-T shreds through everything
Why? Not because it has outstanding mobility
But because it has great damage and proc output

Bandit
Mercenary
Engineer
REX
Artificer, Loader, and Acrid also dive in because of their damage output, not mobility, though Acrid's and Loader's mobility are outstanding in their own right - you could remove Loader's grapple and she'd do just fine because of her damage output
Mobility is important, but if you don't have the damage and procs to go with it then you're a mosquito: You're not dying, but you're not exactly accomplishing nearly as much
all I'm saying is that just considering damage output for character viability or "how good they are" is not how you should be looking at this game
a lot of things have to play in unison, and huntress has good starting AoE, okay damage output, and really good movement
I do not think she needs buffs, she does not need to become a top-tier character
she is more than viable enough to do well in a typical run
Every character is viable
It's power and skill comparisons to other characters that land her as the weakest
Which isn't a good thing
It's an indicator of power creep hitting hard
That's why the buff mods exist - to put her on par with everyone else so she's no longer objectively the weakest in nearly every area
As for looking at her kit in unison?
Her damage output is pretty poor compared to every other character - it gets by, but only just
Her multitarget is a bit lacking - Glaive can help, and its damage is alright, but it has a long cooldown, target restrictions, and poor single-target, while nearly all other AoE skills have no target restrictions and are more immediate (Save Diablo, but that one's a special case), plus don't fall as hard when used against single targets
Arrow Rain and Ballista are good single target, but have incredibly long cooldowns considering how much they're needed
Her mobility is really good, yes, but that's it
Her issue is not "does the character work", it's "how well does the character perform", to which she only meets the bare minimum, whereas everyone else is fairly high above

If the mod is required on both server and client then yes
If the mod is server or client side only then no
But it's still a good idea to make sure everyone has the same configs, just to be safe

thankfully these mods show what was default otherwise this would be a major pain
It's easier if you just copy over the profile into a new one to use for multiplayer
So you don't have to constantly go back and change your configs every time

Essentially, it just enables temporal anti aliasing, as the name entails. TAA provides the quality of MSAA when standing still however essentially does a smart motion blur on objects that would create flickering in motion. Performance wise, it's about the same as SMAA.

- give it a maximum dmg increase per stack of the item

Mystic Sword is really only stupid in super late runs, at which point it's a convenience at most, or if you have lots of Black Monoliths and a Shrine of Combat that spawns boss enemies
at which point it is basically a won run to be fair
it still is way harder for the pc to calculate 200 or 300 * 1.5 (for 150% base dmg as example) than 20.000 * 1.5

they still need to be calculated but the part of the dmg really being dealt is gone
yes but there's a lot less lag when you only need to hit an enemy once to kill them rather than ten thousand times, each of which starts its own proc chain

you can do a save backup if you'd like, it's probably a good idea
but aside from that r2modman is a relatively safe program
save data is stored at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[your steam ID]\632360\remote\UserProfiles in case you're curious
that mod that unlocks everything resets your logbooks for some reason but that's the most I've heard
Golem isn't too bad, doesn't spawn on stage 1 anymore either

What's terrifying is a bell tower spawning random enemies
reins sniper had some cool ideas but it seems as though he has dropped development on it so all the secondary bullet types just fall flat in face of the overwhelming damage possible with the main bullet
it needed more balancing tbh, and I'd like to see it continue, even with railgunner coming

I really liked the ideas of some of those secondary bullet types, like the chain lightning one and the healing one, too bad they are just waaay too weak

before it was deprecated because it was unbalanced and, as stated above, Mystic didn't want to work on it
now it's deprecated because some part of MysticUtils causes it to not let the game start
you can still use it fine with a downpatched version of MysticUtils but you can't use it and MysticItems
@stable ridge are there plans to add config options for the guaranteed white and red cauldrons on commencement in WolfoQualityOfLife? they impact runs i lot more than i thought they would and have outright won entire runs by providing me with crit or drink cauldrons. i can just not take the cauldrons so it's not a huge deal but i was just wondering if it was something in progress.
i would also like to report a bug where the Lunar Chimera boss fight is labeled as the Lunar Exploder boss fight when shortened chimera names are enabled
and as some added feedback i would like to say i think the mercenary and rex alt skin changes are really well done

In the profile, under settings, you can export a profile as a code
Give that code to your friends
Have them on the profile select screen on their end import an existing profile from code

so what you do, is go into logbook section achievements and right click things you want to have unlocked

Remove some mods in chunks and see if the issue persists. Issues like these happen because of mod conflicts from running a lot of mods. The only way to find them is trial and error.

A good rule of thumb for hosting with mods in multiplayer
If the mod is tagged as server-side or skin, just install the UnmoddedVersion mod
If it's tagged as client-side, then you don't need to do anything
If it has none of the above tags, all clients will need the same mods and config
Some mods are old, so they may not have the needed tags, so in that case read their thunderstore pages
You can also make sure your friends have the exact same mods and configs by using profile sharing with R2Modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager
like the expose bug fix mod or the fast scrapper/printer mods ik can just be part of a vanilla game and work perfectly fine

Queue up the items you want grabbed from white/green/red chests at the beginning of the run. For example, if you queue up 10 syringes, everytime u pick up a white item it will just give u a syringe 10 times in a row
then shift to next in queue

As for playable providence, it always gets suggested but is kind of a cursed topic
Cursed in that anyone who tries to make one ultimately never finishes or drops it in favor of another project
tbh mithrix feels pretty easy to do, just rebalance cooldowns and make his movement not so wacky, and most items already work with him so that's easy
