Average day in the SS2 server
The SS1 server on the other hand is more quiet and toned down
I'm guessing the ultimate decision for how they work was like

Well, implementation one is that you buy it from the brazier. It flies into orbit around you. If you are the activator of the teleporter event, you spend your flames (and they fly towards the dish of the teleporter brazier) to spread all of their effects into the radius during the event.

Probably harder to implement an over time buff compared to a single instance of when it's active
You purchase the flame, at any point while you have the flame you can consume the most recently obtained one to pop down a field of the effect for a duration. If you don't, when you go to the teleporter, the most recent one you used is used, but you get it back if you kill the boss within a certain amount of time. Having [x] amount of flames will combine into one of the effects permanently on you.

We can go for a helfire-esque + rachise-esque buff for one. Enemies in the AoE take constant damage, while the player has their own damage boosted

It was a berserker's buff, essentially. Enemies have their attack and movement speed reduced, while allies get the opposite, having their attack and movement speeds buffed
God, the uses of these braziers are going to be interesting
Anyone can add their own brazier buff/debuff easily too
For example, First thing is buff def, second is color of the flame, third is cost multiplier, and last is if it is a debuff
These get added to a list that I expose
I could even make this into a method to construct them, so mods that want to add more just have to call that method with the parameters

I have a hard time playing Red Mist but I have a hard time playing most melee-focused characters in RoR2, so
don't worry lad I had difficulties playing her too
what I usually did was I tried my best to loot the stage 1, usually to like half or less of my hp
then I went in, and activated the teleporter event, making me activate my ego
which makes it significantly easier to just deal with the teleporter, and gives you suffient money to loot the rest of the stage 1
now thats odd. i spawned in and my camera is locked to my pod but i can see myself walking around

man, Zetaspects feel like how aspects should feel like in the base game when you get them to drop, cause god DAYUM do they feel as good as they look in their description on the web page
i didnt get to loop, but i didnt need to, that Aspect of Violence from the elite variety pack i got to drop as cap legit felt like i was doomslayer incarnate, i legit can't go back to vanilla now, Aspect-wise

as they fookin' should be, with how rare they are, but vanilla aspects take up an equip. slot, and AREN'T ACTUALLY "equipment", they are PASSIVE and functionally erase your equipment slot

AspectAbilities gives equip-like active effects to all aspects alongside their passive effects, that's balanced for both player and enemy use
ConfigAspectDropChance generates a config file that you can use to, well, configure the drop chance of aspects.

As for why aspects don't affect the player much in the vanilla game, it's because they aren't meant for player use; they're just there to serve as an easter egg and an explanation as to why elites are elites

Lost In Transit and Aetherium's elite aspects have passive effects that don't feel entirely useless
Lost In Transit has Frenzied (Cooldown reduction to all skills and a funky dash) and Leeching (damage returned as a % of HP)
Aetherium has Sanguine (All attacks inflict bleeding and a funky dash)
elitevariety is beast mode

Has Ironclad (Spawns with nondecaying barrier, all barrier gained doesn't decay, and roots enemies on hit)
Invigorating (Permanent warbanner and frenzy)

Areanaceous (Constant AoE damaging affect around, inflicts blinding on hit)
Tinkering (Spawn up to 3 drones which get stronger with item scrap, steal item scrap on hit)
Erythrite (Enemies looking at you take more damage, hits impale enemies, doing massive damage over 60 seconds)

its honestly everything i hoped for in my head(canon), an aspect should make feel you feel at least some hype when it drops, not: "heh, funny ball, too bad im forever chained to my gesture'd IV drip of spinel tonic or i die from withdrawl"
I'd say AspectAbilities does that just fine, since with its changes
Blazing becomes DML with f i r e on a low cooldown
Glacial becomes an aura that reduces the HP of all enemies in the AoE (and the AoE grows)
Overloading is super mobility
Celestine is great team support
Malachite is essentially the same as having a flying turret
Perfected is insane damage reduction
while maintaining balance with cooldowns and how an enemy would also use it
But ZetAspects does let you live out the headcanon of becoming an absolute monster with a single item

Actually, this is what it does in EliteVariety on its own. The only change is the DoT multiplier
I'd say the changes zetaspects makes to most of the aspects actually put them above a lot of reds
Of all the vanilla aspects it changes, Blazing is probably the closest to being balanced
yeah, i havent actually tried any other aspect than Violence, just to put all my cards on the table
so i cant speak from experience if they all are better reds/lunars, i only have their desc.
they are all stronger than reds
Zet is definitely better when the aspects are drop only yellow tier items
id say thats balanced out by how rare they actually are to encounter on any given run in particular, though
It's changes to the vanilla aspects are pretty much
Blazing - More movement and stacking burn damage, which is honestly ok
Glacial - In addition to being a stronger Chronobauble, it now is also a direct DPS up and access to one of the strongest debuffs, albeit on a small chance (which is easily mitigated by a decent proccing survivor)
Overloading - Directly reduce enemy damage in addition to it already being a DPS up
Celestine - Do what Shattering Justice does without needing build up, and increases the damage resistance of you and your allies
Malachite - Also make yourself more tanky with free life leech, and directly reduce enemy damage
Perfected - Allowing healing to apply to shields is uh... pretty broken, since shields come with their own benefits, especially since this one is pretty much Transcendence with more benefits already
Perfected is just regen, not healing

All of these are honestly even better than one of the best reds, Brilliant Behemoth
Behemoth is just a DPS up, some slight AoE, and some cool interactions with very specific survivors
I'm pretty sure the "player regeneration" meant any healing source, but I'll need to double check
having played with it it does not, its only the regen stat
so you get slow shield regen before the 7 seconds is up for shields to fill
the only item in vanilla that really works with it is tonic
Still, allowing HP regen to apply to shields is still pretty good
Any healing really
without other item mods that part is kind of inconsequential imo
also I guess I forgot to mention that rack doubles regen, so I guess that one also synergizes
its still stupid strong though, no doubt
just not as broken as I see most people say it is
eh, just to end things off: yeah, they are pretty powerful, but the rarity to get one makes me think it should be at least be better than a handful of reds, and the fact you cant really choose the one that would make your build synergize to do some downright ELDRITCH shit (and honestly, they dont really even need to syngerize per se to do absolutely nutso stuff to your runs, and thats ok, thats a good half of the fun of RoR right there, seeing crazy rare shit drop and what rare flavor of slaughter they do to the enemies) makes me feel like they, at the very least, earned the right to be that powerful when you get one to drop, in my head
Most of them are better than some of the best reds
And it doesn't really matter whether or not it needs to synergise with your build since all of them pretty much do, one way or another
and with that wall of text built and constructed... i shall lurk elsewhere in the shadows
so playing as overloaded worm gives you a lot of health

This is actually the second time I fought Nemry. The first time I fought him he had a gorillion health + a shield and I had to sloooooowly whittle him down

Ion Surge is in an odd position where it's bad but also a crutch at the same time
Bad because it doesn't rotate well with Arti's skill and lacks the damage output + procs of Flamethrower (and can just be compensated with dodging anyways)
But also a crutch because hanging in the air indefinitely is uhhhh yes
this is so dumb, 2 shotting bosses with waves of 4 ion surges. It's so fucking tedious though

My own thoughts for changing Surge were
Its grounded use is exactly the same, maybe slightly increase height gain, but if used again while airborne, you slam back down for like 900%-1000% damage in an AoE
So it still retained its use a mobility tool, but also wasn't just a "hover forever" crutch
Ooh, maybe it could also have a slight suck in effect to get enemies into the field easier
Could basically just go full cc with it
Stunning field would be cool, but it wouldn't change much for Ion Surge at all other than make people just leave Flamethrower behind even more

yeah that's how transcendence works for every character
might be too op for setts regeneration to affect shields
after all, transcendence is a lunar, it's your conscious choice to pick it up or not
i guess when you get transcendance this basically deactivates

Probably. Having used it with Firefox and Chrome, it works fine for both of those

I usually just use Titanic Plains and don't bother with greenscreening it

It's a test stage that's very empty for the most part
It's like a couple of stage props hovering in the air
If that doesn't look good for you, then Titanic Plains is probably the next-best stage
If you're demoing skills, please try to have the correct numbers, especially for Flamethrower since the in-game description is incorrect for it
