Some feedback for the aspectabilities mod: The teleport ability for Overloading elites is awesome, but kinda wonky in a lot of cases. It straight up doesn't work in places like the bazaar for example, and sometimes will take you in a wrong direction

Hey uhm, I'm trying to figure out why BetterUI is overlaying my DPs meter over the chat.. I see that you can change the position in the config too, but can't make any sense of how to actually.. Do that. Is there an easy way to put it slightly below chat? I think that's where it's supposed to default to, but.. Not sure.

The weird thing is, it (visually) duplicates the mods installed, and even shows up in the profile settings, but when I look in the config editor section it shows the mods that are actually in the profile
I've seen it once but it was when I was messing around with stuff looking in to some fixes, reverting those changes seemed to have stopped it
Yeah that makes sense, the mod list is driven by a mods.yml file in your profile folder
You can see that if you go to Settings -> Browse profile folder
The config editor reads the /BepInEx/config directory for files and has no idea what mods are in your profile
To me it sounds like the active profile somehow got de-synced, although the only way I could figure it out is if I had a way to reproduce it

For example, I have Gunslinger installed on my default profile but not on this profile (I'll call it prof2 for the sake of identification), but in the mod.yml file for prof2, it lists Gunslinger as one of the mods

@wise ferry I had a problem with enforcer being listed twice last week. Iirc, it was caused by using the update all button and seeing that it was still listed as needing an update so i directly updated the mod using its own update button.

I'm trying to find the updated model ID list (for using Cheat Engine to play as enemies) and I cannot find one for the current in-game version. Is there a place I can find an updated list? I want the Cheat Engine method so I can host games with friends, or I'd use mods instead, UNLESS there's a mod that lets you change people in your game without them needing a modded client, then that works just as well.

well the second time it was on drizzle with command cuz i wanted to unlock him asap
and yeah, after i played some ror 1 starstorm and nemmando spawned right inside the platform and i had to kill him with fireworks and wire. On the next stage nemforcer spawned, pwned me and died himself, i just love how starstorm is hectic

Some mods just straight up aren't compatible with multiplayer, but yeah, do remember that most mods require them to be installed by all players involved, unless stated otherwise

yo so I've been trying to get modded items ingame, but no matter what I try they don't work. Any ideas?
You may not have dependancies, the download may have failed, there may be a conflicting mod(although that parts doubtful) or you may have messed up your download for modman itself. Past that, no clue. I suggest checking thunderstore on each mod and seeing its dependancies. If none are missing, redownload them all and try again.
Make sure to have the two neccecary mods to make things work
And if you want to make your life easier just use the r2modman
And don't download stuff manually

The default doppelganger AI doesn't have anything in it to follow a master, you would ideally want to change that which means implementing another rex AI and switching between them

I think the best way to describe this is that the AI would be able to do things just fine. It can attack, fight, and move around the map. The problem would be that its goals wouldn't really align with the player.

I am happy with movement system at this point. It needs a few more adjustments still but its at a workable place. That being said, pretty much 100% of my focus is now on API stuff instead because I do want to get that all up and running as the framework for this new character.

How hard is to make custom survivors?

Depends on goals and scope
I'd say... decently? Like Rein said, it depends
Custom mechanics, such as the wall jumping, are much harder than, say, shooting a fireball
I can get a simple commandoesque character with the basic shoot-missile-dodge-grenade type kit in a day, but thats not really all that interesting.
Meanwhile, a character that requires reworking of the entire API to make it work would take longer but be more interesting as a result
Cool. So if I had an idea for a survivor with some unique mechanics, what resources are there to help me learn how to do it?
Also under the hood there is a lot of stuff that is worth investing time into. Sniper for example took a long time, but the base framework I wound up with lets me make things like spore ammo from zero to complete in a few hours.
In terms of resources, I know there are some templates floating about. I do not know how up to date they are.
Gotta go for the long run. And once you finish that API rework, it'll be easier to make similar movement-based characters later down the line, right?
Api is actually for other stuff entirely. Its more meant to provide a baseline for solving a bunch of the annoying stuff with mods like stat changes.

spore is stupid because you can abuse blood shrines

That's exactly how I feel! I think the boss tp should work like this: a little period to "charge up" the teleporter, then once it hits 100, the boss spawns, you go through as soon as you kill it. And as far the bigger bazaar, I've played around with the config settings and changed the cost to lunar coins and made them rather expensive so it kinda feels like a "break glass in case of emergency" instead of "free items". of course, that only works if you dont edit in lunar coins lol. idk though. And i love that shrine idea

because I was messing around with cheats and went into void fields to get Acrid (I have him unlocked, I just wanted to do it again) and I gave myself 40 ceremonial daggers, so I basically killed one enemy and then all the rest died really fast after, and I heard this roar and I don't know where it came from (I had starstorm 2)

Thats the problem. Aspects are an implementation detail of how elites work. They can drop as an easter egg and nothing more. The more people have an expectation that aspects be balanced, the less freedom hopoo has to do more abstract elite types.

The only thing I really am cool with is engineer turrets inheriting aspects. And that is specifically because when beetle queens spawn a minion beetle, that beetle has the affix.

You're forgetting that the balls Mithrix summons during Phase 4 can do very high damage. He also sacrifices some of his own health to summon them too
