MCifying things is actually kinda easy. Step 1: Reduce all texture resolutions to like 8x8, step 2: use point filtering on all textures. Step 3: loop over all meshes and round the vertex coords to nearest whole number.

The ManualNetworkRegistration attribute exists for precisely this reason
Add your mod to the networklist manually in awake, add "Mod Name: NOT COMPAT WITH MULTIPLAYER" + Random string
Then unless you get same random string for 2 clients somehow, they won't be able to join

Just turn down the hitmarker sounds in mod options
its a real time slider so you don't have to restart the game to mute it or lower/change the volume
if you also wanna lower modded enemy sounds or modded music volume there are separate sliders for those

Hey guys, how you doing, i am sorry if someone else already found a solution that i didnt see, buitz im getting several of these red texts: unity log and reincore as shown in the printscreen. I have the following mods going: sniper, enforcer, bandit, artificer extended, miner, item stats and proper save. Seldom my game crashes on launch, but I havent faced any other problems

Pretty much how it works. However, some mods work server-side only, so they don't necessarily need the mod. Remember to thoroughly read the mod's thunderstore page/readme file
and even if they are serverside, you need a mod like unmoddedversion to play online

Yeah, but you also have to add a new .cfg file, and add some inbound and outbound firewall settings for those ports
The settings are what got me since they weren't outlined in the setup process

I'd do this, but I found that some mods running on the server will break the game, whereas, they work only for the client. Example being BetterUI. It breaks the UI for the client and items do not disappear if it's in the server's mods. But, removing it from the server allows the mod to work properly

Yeah, apparently attaching my school email to get office 365 for free means that they have to enforce certain privacy settings. Which is "totally" great, but once I graduate and that runs out, I can go back to normal

r2modman is a mod loader/launcher, with really good management options and connection to thunderstore so you can download mods from r2modman.

As far as safety with mods goes, we're pretty vigilant with what gets uploaded to thunderstore. If you're really paranoid, you can avoid downloading things newer than a day or so.
Also, r2modman is not a loader. Bepinex is the loader. All r2modman does is place the files in the right place for you and provide a more direct way to browse thunderstore.
(which is great because people never cease to find new interesting ways to mess up the install)
Going off of this, when I started off looking at mods, I looked at the most downloaded mods, and then looked at the mod creator's page, to see what other mods they created
Yeah if its got more than 1k downloads the odds are basically zero for anything risky. The bigger issue would be if the mod was crazy old and broken, but even then the dev would have to be doing something very very wrong to cause any real issues.

Moisture upset requires all people playing to have it installed, if you wanna play with it but your friends don't, have them install it and go under mod options and turn off all the changes and set the moisture upset sounds to 0%
They will see the normal game while you see meme hell
Ok, so the best idea I can come up with, since yes, they have to install it as well, is to forego using r2modman (I know blasphemy) and use the manual way of installing mods, that way you can send them a zip file which they just unpack into their risk of rain 2 folder
this way, unless they dig into the folder, they will not see the mod until the game starts
what mods should i install
Item stats mod is super useful, autosprint is a nice qol mod, some custom survivors like paladin, enforcer, or bandit

You don't need it. But anyone who has ever had to deal with tech support on modding server will agree that some people do need it.

After the changes in the next update for making modding easier should we expect an explotion in the number and quality of mods in the next months?

Theoretically, yes, quality and quantity will go up. But they haven't really told us anything that I am aware of other than "modding easier" so it's kinda hard to judge it right now
One of the biggest blocker is how unfriendly the stat system is and iirc it's not changing for the March update
I can see a big spike happening when that change happens if ofc the hype about the game is still there, which hopefully will stay as even a dlc is planned
It's not so much convenience as it is a tool to help people who aren't very techy
There's also quite a lot of people who just don't update their mods and end up on older R2API versions for example
So uh. You should expect basically all mods to combust too.
As the modding gets easier it will help things along, but don't expect explosions. Mod quantity/quality explosions are more related to the number of people making mods than how difficult it is, and the current setup is already very streamlined due to the age of the community, and past changes made to help modders (skills2.0 was the biggest one thus far and march is just looking to be an extension/bugfix for some of the systems added back then)

you might not have enough attack speed, the debuff on the primary does wear off after a few seconds

since I'm 80% sure you don't need to activate all beacons to get the achievement
so you can stack crit and loads of damage items with no fear, since aurelionite will still be immune to attacks, but still gets the debuffs

Yeah, console hardware is designed for security (needs to be now that they have web browsers sadly...) And, mods rely on changing code at runtime which is in pretty much all cases a big red flag for any security stuff. (How can you tell what a program does if it keeps changing itself every 2 seconds into something else?)
Only way I can think of running mods on a console is homebrew, and we all know how the companies behind the consoles feel about that.
So the ability to do that is universally blocked unless you have root level access.
For ror2, homebrew would not work actually. Not directly. Console builds of unity games have a totally different runtime which would require every mod to be rewritten and the vast majority of them would be flat out impossible.

Getting faster the longer you spend sprinting in 1 go, Able to leap higher aswell. Full on Parkour physics

We have lots of issues like that. Dots, DamageTypes, ProcChains, OnKills, and stats are all nightmares to work with.
and there are some others mixed in, unfortunately to my understanding none of those are aimed for march

Part of the issue is that modders haven't really taken the time to step back and evaluate how those areas could be improved to begin with. thats kinda why api is being reworked.

Not all mods generate configs.
It's something the mod creator has to specifically implement, and some don't.

hey hey hello, i have a problem, when i use the r2api-s latest version to use mods, my game gets a black screen after the hopoo logo, in the cmd it also writes "[Info : Unity Log] "set_scene" is not a recognized ConCommand or ConVar.". can i get some help, or can i just not use mods
if i use the older versions it works just fine, but i have the latest version of the game, so i dont know what the problem is
but the older version also doesnt support some of my mods, so i still cant use them

Her burden does have a config. According to tech support, only reason why it wouldn't generator a config is if you're not using r2modman and you've put stuff in the wrong spot/folder. If you are using r2modman, this came from the person that made r2, "They aren’t updated to the latest version and have legacy mode enabled".

stutterstunter is not likely to help with fps. It may hurt fps a tiny bit. Just exists to deal with stuttering.
lighterpatcher won't do anything unless you have r2api installed, in case you were looking to use mods only for the fps increase.

Is there a way to reset a config file to its default settings using R2Modman in a way that doesn't involve manually retyping the default values back into the boxes?
On config entries without a "show more" I can't just copy/paste, and I'm trying to reset a setting with a particularly long string as the value
go into the config folder for the r2modman profile you are using and delete the config file for the mod you want to reset. a default config will be generated when the game is ran

abilities are in different keybinds, hammer slam is charged, heal is overtime and you can aim, buff can be refilled by bonking thy foes with a hammer
charge is like a second or 1.5, not much
and he doesn't use his fists anymore

It's related to what I mentioned above, basically when the increase to the max health happens if the difference between old health and new health put you at the activation threshold, the rest is dealt as damage.

You ||need to visit the void fields and complete it. After you do that, Nemesis Commando will have a chance to spawn as a teleporter boss (or boss in general). Defeat him to unlock him.||

having random issues with hosting a modded multiplayer lobby, mostly with some characters being invisible for other users
but not all modded characters
my logs aren't throwing any abnormal errors, but one of the people in my lobby is getting "did not find target for sync message for 5"

gonna disable some of the newer mods and see if that fixes anything
clients keep getting disconnected with this exact error
all of us are running the exact same version and configs of every mod

@final crest best option is going 1 by 1 and see what mods crash the connection
or send the issue in the modding discord where someone actually smart can help you

its a debuff unique to the character
there should be a description of it when you hover over some of his skills
Gouge does around 120% of your total damage overtime

There's not really any "optimization" mods. The only one that comes to mind is LighterPatcher, and that only optimizes the modloading process
i only know of three mods that help with fps:
- stutterStunter
- stickyStunter
- LighterPatcher
Stutterstunter doesn't even really improve FPS
Best way to describe stutterstunter is that it removes frameskips.
So like, those .1s hitches where game seems to freeze up every 10s or so.
If you don't get those, lucky you XD

#lfg-pc-ror2 is pretty receptive to modded lobbies as long as the modded profile code is shared so everyone can easily import it and play
If that was like 6 monhs ago its fixed. If not... Its nice when people actually report these bugs.
However I lean towards that being caused by another mod allocating absurd amounts of memory. I know in the past I've seen some mods doing multiple MB per second.

The main mods I play with is banditreloaded, enforcer, hailstorm, Aetherium, kings items, some skin mods like prestigious, then the usual support mods required to run em. I'll try messing with my modman to see if it's that, otherwise I do have things ready to let folks know what's going on.

Yo are zet aspects and aspect abilities compatible?
I think it would be only compatible for enemies
since the aspect abilities are from you using the equipment
and ZetAspects makes aspects a red item
so yeah, you would get super strong elite enemies
Yeah zets lets you config it so it's equipment and if you get a dupe it drops as a red

After some testing they dont seem to be. They don't teleport with the other turrets
@lime onyx those, equip drones, and emergency drones aren't affected by it. I know the Engi turrets never were, idk if the other two were meant to be ignored by the item.
