Apparently one of my friend's malware software detected the Miner mod as a trojan, and had to remove it
the big miner mod is not malware
as in, the most downloaded one*
and im pretty sure thunderstore would delete malware as soon as its detected
miner has had several reports in the past week or two of being detected as a coinminer, but I can guarantee you it's safe to use
just windows defender being dumb
as far as we can tell, it's because the DLL is named "MinerV2.dll" and nothing else

Yes, but most of the time you will need everyone else to have the same ones
there are a handful that can work without everyone having them, but those are the exception to the rule and they should mention that they work that way in readme somewhere.

with r2modman you can export your profile as a code in settings and have them import that code to get the exact same profile as you

basically, you need to signal that whenever someone uses your mod, they play in the v[number]MOD, and you arent allowed to post game-ripped files in this discord
those are the two main big rules but i recommend reading Hopoo's EULA on it
they are very fair and supportive to modders but there are still a few things you should know about

Can anyone recommend a mod I could employ to buff frag grenades without changing their mechanics? I am using honpo rebalance sup fire changes, and so grenades are lagging behind a bit. However, most mods I have found that buff them also make them stick to stuff etc.

Would be a pain. Difficulty slider is not stored as a value, its calculated from time
Maybe you can trip the bazaar flag?
Otherwise you would need to set up a hook to the run timer that checks if scaling is disabled, and if it is adds to a persistent value. Then hook all calculations involving it and insert a subtraction from the time value with your offset
If you just always want the slider paused, and no ability to control it it is easier, you just replace all references to run.stopwatch with a constant value.
Still IL hooking, so not exactly beginner stuff at all, but not anything crazy difficult as far as IL hooks go.

Prestigious requires skinapi though
there are definitely engineer skins out there, they might be in a pack with other skins (mod's name is normally something like ShadowSkinPack) or they could be listed as a skin name, without engi in the title, like Gilded Skin (and then the mod description is like "Adds a gold skin for Engi.")
FMJ is best for a one-shot one kill playstyle, but its single target. plasma bullets seems underwhelming in terms of damage and the time waiting for things to die can be painful, shock bullets can be a pain since you need to hit the same target multiple times in order to kill it, but have good damage, explosive is meh imo, and the damage on the 3shot burst isn't worth (this is all my opinion) so i'd go FMJ, or shock as they're whats gonna get you through levels the fastest. as far as everything else goes, id keep it stock except the backflip. the mobility from the blink knife is much better value especially for somebody who needs to keep their space to live, like sniper does.
that being said, im not the only sniper player out there. and im sure a bunch of players would disagree with me. so its totally your call. enjoy it how you want to
i personally enjoy explosive, since i'm an area of effect type guy
tbh you should just experiment with loadouts and see what you find best for what you aim
i disagree with the plasma statement, while it can be a pain to wait for things to die the fact it has its own proc co and it being capable of procing bleed and once you stack the rounds the proc rate gets stupid so i think plasma is the best for bossing, explosive is pretty good imo aswell but shock is kinda underwhelming
im finding explosive fun the most rn due to its high damage and the area of effect

Sadly, the last update was in august 2019
Plasma is actually the highest dps of all ammo, but is pure single target. It struggles a lot mid game though, when you start needing raw damage but don't quite have enough procs to make plasma do insane things.
Which is entirely intended. Essentially, Fmj, explosive, and burst are meant to be the practical ammo. The rest of them are more aimed at being hyper specialised, to the point of near impracticality. You may find them stronger in multiplayer though, because success there is dependent on your teams ability to cope with different situations, not strictly yours.
The next released ammo is actually heavily tailored to support rather than dps.
Yeah, syringes impact the charge speed of charged shot, as well as the time delay before charging starts (that delay is also present on quickscope)
@gray mulch ah i see cant wait for the support ammo cuz my friends i usually play with are pretty new and it'll help them rely on me less for runs, and yeah i noticed plasma kinda struggles if you dont have procs and takes a minute to kill so id say its better with a command run since you can get what it needs to be op. Also assuming your the creator cause of your name this is a really amazing mod btw single funnest and most flexible character ive ever played imo

I do bugfixes, qol stuff, and optimizations. Unfortunately I didn't really consider long term when I was writing it so its not modular enough to easily accept new features. If I am still modding this game after my next project or two it may get a total rewrite.

I know that allot of abilities are cast faster when having allot of attack speed, you punch your big punch WAY faster with some attack speed as loader

Has anyone encountered an issue where mithrix final form causes a crash if he does damage to a player? Had runs without a crash but then had one It seems to happen maybe 50% of the time when I get to stage 4 mithrix. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and found the root of it? What mod may be causing it, if its a particular item from a mod set like supply drop or aetherium. I also thought it could be hypercrit but Ive still had the crash occur after disabling and uninstalling it. I figure it might have been caused by mithrix having certain items that hes not properly programmed to use when an on hit effect occurs. So yeah, anyone have insight on this problem?

Im also thinking it could potentially be a mod order issue because I know that can be an issue when I would mod games like Fallout 3, 4, NV, or Skyrim. Idk if RoR2 is as picky about it but I havent really experienced issues aside from this mithrix problem

@misty quest I had some artifact mods in there that were causing some conflictions. I removed them and it seems to be running smoother. I deleted a few other mods as well, but I don't remember what they were, as I did it last night.

I got another crash record from the log of the Phase 4 Mithrix problem I mentioned yesterday, but it seems that the game crashes before it can log what went wrong. None of the lines seem to indicate why it crashed

the error just seems to be the death of the phase 3 adds and seems to be working as intended despite the error message

I posted about the problem yesterday, but to reiterate, when Mithrix reaches Phase 4, like 50% of my runs, if he deals damage with his Lunar Shards, the game will crash. I'm not sure whats causing the problem. I figured it was a certain mod, most likely a mod added item that he takes and isnt programmed properly to have the effect go off, most likely a on hit effect. It was recommended that I post part of the game log to try and find the problem but it seems the log didnt record the problem.
Yeah thats not an error really though. Thats a custom message being printed with red text. Errors will have more spooky symbols and start with SomethingRatherException.
"SomethingRatherException" doesnt show up anywhere in the text log
What type of crash is this? Does the game just close immediately or do you get a unity error message.

as someone else said, phase round lightning is great, makes phase round proc bands and also zap more enemies. I still think blast is better, but it sure makes round a bit mroe viable.
