Maybe, but it would be a worse engie turret that dies after 30 seconds, so... I doubt anyone would actually put in the effort to make it a playable mod. If it does exist it probably spawns an actual polyp and forces your camera there until it dies, then kills you.

Doesn't seem to actually effect it. Or at least does so little its not worth much. His unique firing mechanic gimps him hard in speedy attacks, and he doesn't have much aoe. But by god he can single out a target
he's got the shocking ammo and the explosive ammo for some aoe of your like, there's also a bunch of aoe items

Thereās the metal jacket passive, which makes bullets ricochet and pierce, and then the explosive rounds that I personally prefer that deal 0.2x on hit and 0.8x in area damage compared to the 1x of the metal jackets rounds

Sniper doesn't feel like a sniper because ror2s spawning system does not allow fighting at range. It isn't something that can be solved at a character level.
I do have plans to fix that issue in genfixes at some point.
Itās good in multiplayer, as you can blink knife to the top of the map very easily and snipe tough enemies and help clear crowds while your friend/friends go in close range
And then when boss gets called you just do the same thing to boss
With mods like ShareSuite you also get item copies and earn money for everyone while up there
So win-win either way
The spawning issue is also the same reason captain and engi default mines are so meh.
If enemies spawned far away and pathed to you then it would be possible for characters that engage at range and use zone control mechanocs to exploit choke points on the map.
Right now game devolves into a melee range dodge everything state late game, bunkering down and defending is not possible.

Yeah I love knife, but it honestly isn't a sniper like move. I would love to see this knife on a melee character.
Knife is amazing, but i find it moves me way further than i tried to, and its oddly fast. Definitely a weirdly high skill ceiling for an otherwise fairly simple character, and an oddly placed move. Feels more like a mercenary type move. Maybe huntress but she doesn't really need it
Ror2 isn't a game for a sniper like character.
Ror1 sniper had a secondary role of assassin btw

And adding knockback doesn't help unless he has aoe, and then its just use that instead
Snipers are single target types and this game doesn't support that very well

I just use tp completes when boss dies. Theres no reason to sit there for 2 minutes dealing with random pests by the time you delete bosses
nah, i make it speed up by 2x but not instant
having the tp finish when the boss is dead perhaps makes the gameplay more fluid, but it is horribly imbalanced
yeah currently i have the tp charge in 120 seconds at 120 radius (vanilla is 90 seconds, 60 radius), but the tp charges twice as fast after boss is defeated
so eh its prohbably a buff to the playuer but i dont care
i want the player to be rewarded for defeating the boss faster and i hate how small the radius is
so i increased the charge time to balance that
You are rewarded for killing boss early by not having to deal with the boss mechanics. If that doesn't feel like a reward then the boss mechanics need to be adjusted imo.
that would feel like more of a reward if waiting around for tp to charge was less boring
which yeah you could make an argument about the mechanics being changd but part of it for me is that ive just played this game so much that bosses arent particularly hard to deal with anymore

Huntress + Skills++ (with the alternate primary) is some Stonks
that would not work unless drone inherited items, then it would be overpowered since it effectively has flying engie turret abilities. and even if it didn't attack items like coil and razorwire would proc. without items wave 5 monsoon would shred it and then OOPS! dedicated long range class has an entire server of highly aggressive enemies going for them and almost zero close range options.
in theory, great. in practice? it would give even worse tunnel vision and lead to being stupid op or even harder to use effectively

they've been talking about reworking how Items and other stuff is organized, if this includes those changes then a lot of mods will be broken
Hi, I'm newer to the modding scene, and I'm going through all the tutorials on the github site. Is there a way to view RoR2 in Unity while you're modding? So if i wanted to move a camera in my code I could launch the game in Unity and see it be changed in the editor? Thanks!
you can view individual assets, but you won't be able to run the game out the unity editor

R2Modman has its flaws
steam workshop has far more
they seem pretty set on supporting the existing modding community either way
The amount of times me and my brother have to relaunch is high, getting new mods updated and synced between friends isnāt always perfect. Workshop is much easier for the casual modder
The biggest problem is the relaunch issue where steam overlay breaks
I mean r2modman is amazing , but in terms of total ease of use and integration, workshop beats it there

No matter what happens with workshop/no workshop bepinex will continue to function, and as long as we have an entry point to run code, we can change quite literally any code in the game as needed.

Workshop sync is not really something thats going to work without restart.
Its not a technical limitation with our access, its a code design limitation with the catalog systems. Its not a bad limitation either, because it simplifies the networking down to a manageable level and allows for things to be more extensible in general

We had issues with exporting codes causing crashes on other peopleās systems

All exports do are download a zip, unzip, and download the mods specified by a file in that zip

Exports just share your mods.yml file and anything under the config folder
It then just basically reruns through and downloads those mods in bulk
If you get system crashes, that sounds like a lack of resources
And your friend should 100% close unused applications, clear chrome tabs, and free up disk space

It most definitely was an issue with the export process. It may have been on my end as I had a few mods that I had disabled that I would assume should have gotten disabled on their end but didnāt

BepInEx doesn't really make an changes to the game, mostly because it's game agnostic
it's a modloader for unity games, not just ror2
but other than that, my main gripe with steam workshop would be that the mod developers would lose control of the release schedule for core pieces
if BepInEx was shipped with the game, it wouldn't be updated until the developers of risk of rain 2 released an update
I think that if the developers of the game aren't the ones managing the mod toolkits, they probably shouldn't be in control like that

dx12 is a bit more bleeding edge but loses the cross platform, only windows 10 basically. imo its not really all that clean either but the extra bleeding edge features are quite powerful.

Not only do we not have an Xbox binary to compile against, it's probably compiled to cpp, making direct translations of mods near impossible
Purely asset mods like skins are basically the only thing sven remotely close to possible, and even that would require a ton of work from hopoo.
for DebugToolkit, there does not appear to be an ancient scepter (from classic items) that can spawn, unless I just am typing it wrong or something

The way mine works forces targeting of the thing you place cursor on, regardless of range and also allows targeting of specific parts, although there aren't any mechanics that use that in the base game.
In theory the specific parts targeting would be cool with stuff like enforcer shield in a pvp mode or something, but it would really depend on how that is implemented.

I have been tho! Ive pressed them all at once, in order, with the dashes, EVERYTHING
no dashes just the letters. It's supposed to be all at once but some keyboards can't handle that many simultaneous key presses. It might be that you pressed them all at once, but not every key press was communicated. To fix this the mod gives a little leeway. Once you press one of the keys you have like half a second to press the rest of them. So either press them all very quickly but with small delay, or just mash the keys.
If you were in multiplayer thats the problem, just load up a single player game and you got it.

you have to find buttons across the map
they are well hidden but, unless they changed it, have a 100% chance to spawn contrary to the eggs
so once you know the locations you can spawn the boss very quickly

I had the same issue with my friend, we couldn't find anything to make it work. You'll just have to manually install the mods yourself sadly

also if you have issues with mods not working correctly go to the modding discord that's pinned and use the chef bot to find out the issue by putting your log into the tech-support chat

I have removed tritip from my modpack, but now I am missing a counterpart to bands
I am wondering if anyone is aware of a damage item in any mod out there that would be good on characters with high procs per second and low proc coefficent
as right now the item meta is somewhat geared towards heavy hitters, they get bands and total damage
whereas fast hitters with low proc cos get on-hit healing, tazer, stun, and brittle, but no damage items

Thats my old alt huntress primary I never finished.
Nah this was the first new skill added after skills 2.0 dropped lol.
How it worked was it aimed at cursor, but it had some tracking near enemies. It worked on a cycle, half second or so shooting, half second not shooting. attack speed increased number of shots during that cycle (with no cap at all) This was an early version before I implemented spread.
