Ror2 doesn't have an mtx income to threaten unlike say gta and it being a noticebly smaller game it just isn't worth them going to the effort
Also for a game to EVER attempt to ban for modding that isn't an outright pvp game is ritual fkn suicide for their entire franchise no less the fuckin game itself; you lose an actual half your player base instantly and then when you run out of content your game just flat faces the moment the players finish the game and for a game like this which literally doesn't have more than a single runs worth of content besides being FORCED to end at voidling and not fight false son unless you fight him before mithrix and then only requiring more than one run(though you could theoretically still one run all the content) to do all the artifacts this game has AT MOST 25-50 hours of content when they stop releasing things so to mess up modding on this much of a scale like they've done is asking for a death sentence to everything they've worked hard on to make money in the first place with..

Just be patient, it took like 3 days for most mods on Thunderstore to work with 1.3.8
I think the biggest problem is major mods are being depreciated now which will never be worked on again despite adding good features they're now lost to the void all because we want to add an arbitrary update that adds less than 1/50 to 1/millionth of what the modding community adds. Yet despite this the devs haven't realized they require a version selector built into their game with how often they intent to update and break things on an average like; as you've said; minecraft has, because they understood to keep a community they ne absolutely require the ability to backpatch for modding so they don't kill their literal entire community moving forwards everytime they want to so much as write a single number into any line of code anywhere.
hell, for minecraft specifically there's people who backpatch just to use mods to forward patch so they can use their old mods on new versions without actually being on them.

hell, you can just use the multi terminal station scaled up on a single node of the 3 as the pod and it just has the equipment item that's unique in it when you call it down..
supports replace primary slot, and jump instead dives while sprinting and util swaps from primary wep to the support and back with special as your chosen grenade..
secondary is for your pistol and if you get a shield it swaps to the shield while bringing up your secondary to fire; the code is already there in railgunner for the aim and fire on secondary anyways.
or you could code it the harder way and make the 4 buttons just attached to arrow keys and just have a strategem button so you can call ANY strategem instead of just 4.

Starstorm still being worked on but it bootleg functions again now with MiscFixes so long as you have LobbySkinsFix disabled
If the mod manager complains about turning it off will turn other stuff off too then just select the option that turns only it off

typically I just try out mods and if I find something particularly overpowered or underpowered by my standards, I adjust the stats (if possible) or remove it via config
Problem with modded items is itembloat inherently makes you exponentially more powerful

the more items there are, the more potential synergies and interactions there are, and the more likely it is that one of those interactions breaks the game
It's the one of the few genuine complaint like arguments against wanting more items cause it just gets silly
an example from my games is Miner's interaction with Life Savings from ClassicItemsReturns; it gives him 100% uptime on his passive ability which makes him exceptionally strong. as a white item. that's not Miner's fault, that's not CIR's fault, it's just an interaction between the two that happens to be too powerful
so I disabled Life Savings
You certainly never end up weaker by havign more items in the pool

There's the simpleish bootleg of running Multitudes to artifically up the player count and then using sharesuite with the item sharing disabled to take advantage of its config to lower world spawn loot
difficulty options are largely player count agnostic, it mostly down to how hard you and your team want the game to scale
As far as actually difficulties go there's only really Typhoon for Monsoon+, Inferno for like actual game changing effects that certainly arn't for everyone and then I think it's MoreDifficulties(?) whichever has armageddon if you want to just suffer lol
But it does mostly come down to how accessible loot is in a run
having a lot of difficulty options to pick from can be good because it lets you select the difficulty that feels right for the way the modpack has worked out. maybe the big item pool makes monsoon too easy, so you start playing on typhoon regularly
Sharesuite is basically the best dial to use when it comes to loot/scaling just cause you can lower the amount of chests and stuff per stage
on the opposite end of the spectrum, is there a mod that just...lets me remove loot?

im having an issue where at the start of a level a lot of the vfxs don't work, and enemies instead of leaving a corpse leave a weird transcendent idling version of themselves, but I'm not sure if it is a bug with mods or vanilla
I tried disabling mods one by one, but sometimes I don't get it even with all mods on so I have no idea if one is causing it or it's an inconsistent issue with the new patch

So anyone know which mod is causing the game to get stuck on stage 2. Like every stage is a stage 2 environment, it still counts up but the celestial teleporter never shows up
i had the same issue, but uninstalled AerosSkills and that fixed it

What exactly are you trying to do and what happens? Just clicking uninstall on the mod in the mod manager should be more than good enough

Have you tried the classic windows solution of restarting the pc. The mod manager might have had a hiccup and is stuck symlinking despite not being used

and its that profile i installed the random character mod and was able to install everything needed for it and uninstall it on a diffrent profile
So it's definitely something funky going on with the profile itself then
So guessing the profile itself can't be deleted via the mod manager or from windows explorer for the same reasons and a pc restart isn't stopping it from sysmlinking which it absolutely shouldn't be doing unless you're actively running the game modded

I think I'd have understood better if the whole profile had the issue but it only being some of the folders doesn't make sense to me lol
Only other solutions I can potentially think off is either running the preloaderfix in the mod manager think it's in the debugging tab or going nuclear and running steam as admin and verifying/uninstalling and reinstalling ror2 to potentially break the link

Did you reload that save after updating mods/changing your mod list? if you made any changes at all that save wont have the correct data anymore
There's even very red looking text that warns you on the tooltip of the load save button when there's changes comapred to when the save was made

You do know that MYST has full access to death note with a single skill without the need for shinigami anything, it's called 'crash to desktop' it flat outright kills an enemy at complete random every time you press it 
Not only that but myst also has access to pyroclast which is straight up they felt like casting fireball mapwide that does probably a thousand fold the proc the paladin does with holding the sun in his hand.. and uh.. myst can't die while casting it.. that i know of.. and i've tried.

Multiplayer problem: Thereโs an issue in modded multiplayer where one player spawns in normal but the other is a random object that dies within the first few seconds of the game. Is it a certain mod we have installed thatโs causing this issue?
Could mod configs or even modlists not being the same with every player in which case you'd just make sure that everyone including the person making the profile use the same profile export code or it could be one or more mods directly causing it but the main issue would be that which ever one(s) is causing is a mod that hasn't been networked for online play so it's causing desyncs with non-host players.
Issue there though is it's pure trial and error if it's a non-networked mod unless you get super lucky and there's an actual error in the console/log calling out a plugin breaking so it comes down to disabling mods in chunks till you narrow down which one(s) are causing it

there's not much in ror2 once you find how much is out there then again; there aint much room to add anything either in base game maps so it's hard to find ones that don't become ultra repetative because there's no config for the suckers that i've seen yet to make it spawn those extras often enough to actually change the very small map any..
i have like 300 hours and im still not bored of it yet
i use multiple mods to change stages and still find very little difference in stages besides a route missing sometimes, that's why i started adding maps because the base maps aren't very customizeable via mods rn outside interacteable shrines chests etc.
thats cool, I just think that the game has enough to be done at the moment not to need a ton of new content mods
im sittin on 369 and not quite yet bored of base maps but still i know i will be come 200-300 hours since i sink a good thousand hours into even ok games if they catch my interest in modding side.

i turn off vanilla settings on vibrant so im not seeing it repeat what i've already seen.

i've seen some turn the stage blue.
that picture is a small example; it's alot more noticeable on the more edited stages that flat are a different color.
but yeah; general gist is it'll brighten some stages.
*now that i bring it up; stagevariety is an alt to adding more stuff on map that's not just shrines etc.
I wish there was a mod that added a configureable amount or event of non interacteables onto the map like how lethal company you can have brutalcompany mod add tree's or rocks at random on each stage configureably and per stage rather than permenant event type as like it is now with most non interacteable mods for this game.

reshade aint gonna affect your performance if you dont use the specifically performance heavy options
a mod putting a filter over your game is not gonna impact your performance, and neither is a reshade filter
obviously if you start using stuff that directly fucks with the games lighting or textures or etc its gonna take a hit

As of this update yeah. MiscFixes might've been able to bootleg some of them into working again but any that used dynamic bones are probably outright dead unless the mod author fixes them

That's the issue im running into is peeps depend on the one that's depreciated so til that changes then the original thing sadly stands and im stuck on prior version..

alot of survivors namely but i straight up god fed up so i quit testing im sorry i should've given more testing to it since i know that info is handy for the dev to fix it but i was more worried about actually being allowed to even fkn play at all since i wasn't even basically playing it for the first 3 days after the 5/5 update; though the modding discord does have the logs from that whole fiasco and practically solo proves necromancy in the files that like to just enable themselves..
But yeah I guess this is a valuable lesson that game updates break mods and that if you really care about not having to wait a couple weeks at most then back up your game

oh yeah, skarner and paladin didn't actually show up on the new update when i tested it on day 1 and 3 days after, both same deal..
pack kinda needs tank healer; paladin being gone as well was a no go period..

Only mods I'm currently aware off that cause issues (And certainly there's probably more) is lobbyskinsfix which is forced disabled by misc fixes, mercskinsfix and emotesapi stuff
im having a weird issue where a lot of things get messed up at the start of each stage, like reduced vfxs, corpses becoming idling clones and some characters having no projectiles, and I'm not really sure what causes it
I disabled vfix and a couple of other mods, and it seemed to work, but then I played with them and it still worked, until it didnt
just now I played without vfix and it seemed to get fixed but I'm not sure it really is that
I'm wondering if anyone has had something similar, it is driving me nuts
Sounds like vfix might potentially be that then. It is touching base game stuff and a bunch of that was changed around fir the memop patch. Doing a run with just it would confirm it though
that's the thing though, even when every mod was on sometimes I didn't get it
I thought it had been fixed by some mod updating as I didn't get it for a couple of runs, and then all of a sudden it came back
but vfix definitely seems like the most reasonable since it is directly affecting vfxs
And also fixes various corpse death effects.It all lines up

I had run into that on prior patch too commonly when i poped up the count of sht WELLL too high; when i downpatched i didn't have that issue, i'd verify files rl qk just to be sure; if it continues try to reduce overall vfx if you can, i think there might be a hidden cap but it doesn't affect what'll actually happen, the strikes are still there just not shown so unless it really bothers you it really doesn't make a difference.
I mean I did get some weird inconsistencies, like sometimes damage didn't apply, and when I got it on coop my friend couldn't use things like bandit's revolver and primary or mul-t's nailgun
I'll try to reduce vfx since it makes sense coop with so many more enemies could cause it more often
i'd highly recommend reverify then, the host or client may not be registering that attack entirely and that aint vfx anymore if things aren't actually lining up and attacking/doing damage.
coop can be due to any number of mods not being correctly networked causing desyncs. The important bit is if it's happening in solo then it's more than like outdated stuff
attacks aren't supposed to not register, even when i've pushed this game to full crash many times, not a single time did an attack on any of the 81-99 characters on average ever not register the hit; they should always deal correct damage, some attacks may break but that should be from start of run; nothing breaks mid run ever.
Verifying is a good idea if you have known working mods only and things are still weird
the weirdest thing is only happens for the first couple of minutes per stage

yeah not a chance that should ever happen then; you don't have enough to conflict to do a non register yet..
it's not that it didn't register, the bullets straight up didn't show up
but again only at the start of the stage
and nothing should take long enogh to do a non register..
that's the attack doesn't work; that's more of a conflict than a non register..
I verified already, it fixed two files hopefully it was that
It'll always fix like 2-3 files cause it's like default config stuff
yeah either files or a conflict that's the only things that would flat remove an attack; this game holds up well on registering attacks at bare minimum.
But yeah I@m more inclined to believe it's straight up vfix
only reason i've held with this game is due to that absolute requirement it holds to register attacks above registering the game itself lol

I do think it is probably that because it seems to not happen in vanilla, but then again it sometimes didn't occur in modded either so maybe I just didn't play enough vanilla runs
but I'm inclined to believe it is vfix since it seemed to work when I disabled it, but I didn't test it that much further either
i've messed up some skills with conflicts where they just flat don't work before but a non register or temporary not useable doesn't happen.. i flat don't see it, though im careful in that regard cause that's the only reason i play this..
I mean there's a chance my friend just has terrible aim and they were still there, just with no vfx

That's the fun part about modded. The sometimes part likes to play games lol
i would say test an aoe character to be sure but then again it could be flat outright the skill itself; if you enable honor elites and put it on high difficulty youll have bigger targets though if you want to absolutely sure..
whenever I played artificer with plasma bolts and this issue happened, the aoe effect wouldn't show up, but as far as I'm aware they worked properly-ish
it's a bit hard to know when you don't see impact vfxs and enemies stay as idling copies when they die
yeah arty's plas bolts don't show up vfx wise sometimes, it's funny; but they always register.
had to swap to immediate removeal because of that.

still have it on 10 instead of 0 though so it's a slight delay so i don't see stuff vanish from existence as quick but it's still fast.
I just have it to be hidden, so they only disappear when I look away
so I can just look away and see if they were a hallucination
nah im good having it vanish in front of my eyes; it's more soothing cause i already halucinate things into existence enough as is i don't need the game gaslighting me..

That looks like classic MP desync being caused by one or more mods that haven't been networked to work in MP
Can also happen if everyone doesn't have the same mod configs even with the same mods
