So next funny to pull off is ye ol' verify game files with the nuclear option
Full close steam then reopen by right clicking it > run as admin
Then right click ror2 > properties > installed files > verify
That then hopefully rules out the "Wow this game install killed itself" point

i had to change them all from c drive to s drive but i didnt make a note of the exact naming of the folders beforehand so i may have fucked up the names
once again started through modded and its a vanilla instance
i can tell cause the sots popup is still there
and i can confirm because my modded survivors are gone too

Paladin skins need to have been updated to work with the 2.0.0 version of the mod due to rigging changes. If it's old enough it probably doesn't work

Having some troubles with launching the game modded, I'm not exactly a modder or coder but it kinda looks like there's something relating to "R2API.DamageAPI:damageTypeHolders" maybe causing it.
Nvm, got it to work after reinstalling the mods, must've happened when I was moving the files from thunderstore to modman.

Cooler Stages & Stage Aesthetic both of which are deprecated atm. The only visual overhaul mods atm are Antlers Decay,SOTS Style Weather Loops and Vibrant Visuals. I think Vibrant Visuals or Antlers Decay were causing me performance issues but still give it a shot and see if you like it and your pc vibes with it

actually_faster, scrollablelobbyui, quickrestart, propersave are top ones
actually_faster increases print and scrapping animations and bunch more, scrollable ui makes the lobby skills and chars scrollable (good if u have a lot of modded characters), quickrestart allows u to restart from ingame or get into character select from ingame instead quitting to menu, propersave makes u save a run at the start of every stage so u can load back in even after quitting

destroys your ears on shotgun characters like captain? this makes sound effects unable to play multiple times in one frame. downside: multikills might be less satisfying
attackdirectionfix - piercing attacks like commando phase round, railgunner special, etc. have a bug where theyll just.. go in a different direction sometimes. this fixes that
riskofrain2blurfix - current patch adds shitty forced antialiasing for some reason, this removes that
oh and also elitecostfix is a must-have, current patch spawns way too many elites past like stage 2 or 3

Is there a way to make the stages look brighter on low settings using mods? I play on a laptop sometimes, so I have to run low settings, but the textures on some stages are so dark it's hard to tell walls apart from floors, especially on Helminth Hatchery and The Planetarium.

a little bit yes! both artificer and scientist represent 2 camps; one religious in nature and one more scientific. im not religious myself but i sort of like the idea of them having parallels outfit wise. even if scientist would probably not want to associate with artificer and the high court or house beyond, they both sincerely seek knowledge and attempt to discover whats out there 😋
plus scientist uses something a little like the env suit but in a more lightweight form. its just a highly manoeuvreable space suit with a labcoat slapped over it 🙈
as for the colour we will see what we can do! maybe it would alternate 😊

unlike void fiend she doesnt have a corruption mechanic; hers is subtle and moreso implied. she isnt a direct child of the void like him, she instead studies and twists it into biomedicines and bioweapons, spurred on by void fiends transformation

hi all I am looking for a mod that fixes the known issues that SOTS update introduced. I am using AllTheFixes by Smxrez but not sure if it is best. I do not own any dlc but will buy SOTV
worked for me twice when the game crashed around 20 hours ago
The majority of issues caused by the SOTS update have since been fixed. AllTheFixes has a lot of general fixes for other, less critical issues, which is fine
I don't think anything exists to address that
i think it is from the codebase change not the dlc update but not sure
theres still very much a bunch of issues, i use EliteCostFix, PizzaSoundFix, RiskOfRain2BlurFix, uhh those are the ones i can think off the top of my head

There's a reason the game did change away from what it used to be in sotv and prior though as it actually is quite performance taxing so don't be too surprised if you do see slightly worse game performance

No phantom collision is a phenomenon where some things that lack a hitbox of their own will always pass through certain objects they should collide with

Unsure if it still works but its only use case was tricking the game into thinking you weren't using mods to play with vanilla players and that was only helpful in cases where client sided mods weren't correctly set up but could work fine with unmodded players if you brute forced it
Naturally people tried to also use it when they had content mods and became the living embodiment of the shocked pikachu meme when massive desync happened as there was a content mismatch 😛

Chances are one or more mods are preventing the save from actually saving, in the recent past tank mod was the issue. You can mitigate it using realercheatunlocks to just get the stuff you're supposed to have back

From what I've seen from everyone updating their stuff basically nothing at all. It was mostly waiting on other core stuff being fixed first and then everything kind of just started coming back shortly after.

A lot of that was just the funny console optimisations accidentally being left on for the pc build. Not to defend some of the other decisions as well but it genuinely wasn't actually that bad overall in the grand scheme of thigns

So I have a custom balance modpack, and I'd like to make another version with lore friendly survivors and enimies, but I'd like to be able to update the balance without having to manually copy each individual change, and I don't want to overwrite the the entire pack. - Stormborn monsters no longer spawn twice as often as intended
- Stormborn monsters no longer gain bonus health in default Storms

- Slightly nerfed bonus movement speed and attack speed for Stormborn monsters

My favorite thing personally for long runs is just artifacts. Evolution and metamorphosis especially.
Either those or do a wheel with 3 random artifacts, that's fun

Found another thing that was interfering with EnemyImportance. RiskyArtifacts, even if no artifacts are turned on. Seems like having the Artifact of Origin enabled in the config was meddling in conjunction with something else in my modlist.

@junior slate You could always try a mod that buffs the Engineer's Mobile Turrets like Riskymod/RiskyTweaks. And if you just want a minion character, Starstorm 2's Chirr is a decent fit with the ability to hijack an enemy as a minion. Other than Mortician, I'm not aware of other summoner characters that have been updated post SotS.
Yeah, from what I can tell Holo and Overseer were practically dead even before SoTS, and Shaman died when the DLC dropped, so Mortician is kinda the last man standing (F#CK YOU GEARBOX FOR KILLING MY MAIN)
And I don't know if it is my modlist, but I've never had too much issue with Morty's summons scaling (and I play on a difficulty that scales 50% faster than Monsoon), but then again i'm usually too busy thwacking with a shovel to notice.

Not quite a character, but Aetherium has an item called Engineer's Toolbelt that has a chance to revive drones when slain, including Back-Up drones. Give an Equipment Drone a Back-Up and you'll eventually have a small army of them.

and i beat voidling as false son, but the skin didn't save either

none of the survivor achievements saved
yeah but CWT tends to cause issues with save files
but the weird thing is that the item achievements saved
like ALL of them that i got during the SAME run
I don't know exactly how the problems manifest but I do know that CWT is likely the problem
like it may only affect character unlocks, I don't know
also in vields i dont see the item that gives me the nemesis invasions

the host can still activate it and anyone can pick up the item once it spawns

None off hand and without being able to see a LogOutput.txt it'd legit be guessing and at that point you're faster just disabling half your mod list and seeing if the problem goes away and keep doing that til it does

If you get a role from #roles you'll be able to post you games logoutput in chat which can be found on the mod manager > settings > locations > browse profile folder > bepinex folder
WIthout it there's legit zero context as to what may be happening. Could be mod incompat, could be outdated mods, legit don't know otherwise unless you wanna just do the work and disable things in your modlist to figure it out

more worried about proper save not working at all
Well propersave should work as it definitely does work on current patch now
my recommended solution: stop using modpacks
