For future reference the LogOutput will be in the Bepinex folder. To get there when using a mod manager it's just Settings > Locations > Browse profile folder > bepinex folder

As in like 10+ players on the ready button? That's usually due to having one or more broken in MP mods
An actual log would probably be more helpful as it's likely going to show it erroring and call out the mod

I forget where exactly it is but google searches will find it easily since other games like bethesda stuf do it all the time to avoid updates but you can fuck with the manifest file for the game to prevent steam from knowing it needs updated

That's pretty easy since it's kept separate from the game files anyway so you wouldn't need to do much at all in the first place. ON the mod manager itself click the help button and scroll down to see the launch arguments > copy paste that > then on the non-steam game version you added/the backup copies exe file just open properties and paste it as the launch arg for it

hello all, i havent played ror2 in a while but with dlc im going to come back, but one of the reasons why is that when i installed mods, all of my environment logs vanished, is there a way to get them back? because even when i find some again and put mods back on they disappear and i have to start over again. please and thank you for the help.

Partial Chance that the mods being installed are preventing the profile from loading correctly. Not much else to work on though so can only really suggest to disable mods at a time till it starts co-operating to narrow the issue down

I don't think it'll be removed, due to the time it took to make it.
Current plan is fix if it's not a pain and make it a variant of official chef with the survariant mod otherwise it'll probably remain dead for the current maintainer if way too much changed to justify fixing it
probably just add the chefmod chef as a skin and maybe rebalance the skills

If you can find one with a config to disable certain items, I'd say any of those. I don't think there's a single overall balanced item mod tbh
Id just search by Client Side and pick out what you want, maybe some UI or item organization. Any mod that replaces/overwrites only works if the host has it though, like faster scrappers/printers

@devout pasture and @split torrent since this is basically the same answer to both questions. The honest answer is "No idea" the immediate answer is "They definitely won't work day 1" but we've no idea how much or how little is changing internally with this update given the updates are now day 1 parity with console and pc.
It could be as simple as bepinex and r2api just need updating and could be around a week and suddenly everything else just starts working again or it could be more like DLC1 which had massive internal changes with how the game loads assets and the fact it upgrade from Unity 2018 to Unity 2019. We genuinely wont know till the updates out and I imagine modders might wanna just play the dlc for a few days too. π
As for "Can you just turn the dlc off?" nope doesn't work like that since everyone has the content regardless of ownership. You'd have to downgrade your game version to continue playing with mods until things are fixed.

Yeah it'll be wherever bepinex is stored. For Thunderstore Mod manager and r2modman getting to it is as simple as going to setings > locations > browse profile folder > open bepinex folder
Does anyone know why the "driver mod" character saves the abilities and passivs but not the weapons and skins after a day?
Usually when something like that happens it's the entire profile that refuses to save and resets to how it was on game reboot so I'm not entirely sure why it would only partially save parts of a character

But if the problem persists when it's just driver as the only mod being loaded then it's on the mod dev to fix it otherwise it's a case of hunting down which mod is bricking the profile saving

All modded unlock stuff also get's dumped into that file too which is why unlocks can persist even when the mod itself doesn't

Ok that's probably a easy fix then. Check Settings > locations > change risk of rain 2 directory and that that file path matches exactly where ror2 is currently installed

You can likely add the backup a a non-steam game than if you wanted mods for it you can either manually move the profiles bepinex folder over tothe backup or click on the help button on the mod manager > scroll down and then copy that launch argument then paste it on the the non-steam game backups launch arg by right clicking it > properties > launch options box

The languange files got changed from .txt to .json. I went through the files and replaced the pickup desc of the items, but it's not changing in-game. Same with changing the monster names and whatnot. I tried setting the files as read only, but that did nothing to help lol.
If anybody knows how to fix this/figures it out, please let me know what to do!

it's not designed to be used anymore. r2api was split into a bunch of submodules
so mods should only require the modules they need rather than the core with everything in it
that way modules that loaded mods aren't using don't need to be loaded

gearbox changed how certain character bodies execute their new states, it used to be a per-tick update, now it updates every 60 seconds
so this unironically killed all enemy mods, beyond repair
and most likely every minion based survivor too

Base/prepare to die edition DS1 runs at 30fps cause all physics are tied to framerate. If you run higher i.e. 60 the act of sliding down ladders makes your collision fall under the floor

You can likely add the backup as a non-steam game than if you wanted mods for it you can either manually move the profiles bepinex folder over tothe backup or click on the help button on the mod manager > scroll down and then copy that launch argument then paste it on the the non-steam game backups launch arg by right clicking it > properties > launch options box

not sure have u played either of the other games, risk 1 and returns but u have infinite cleavers and they travel a set distance and return, now u have 3 cleavers, and only one can be out at once if u want any meaningful range on it, now when u throw one and press the m1 again it immediately recalls the one u threw so if u try to spam the cleavers u throw one and it flies like 2 meters and gets recalled cuz ur spamming m1, its so bad

Wherever you want afaik. You can overwrite your current steam install with it or just place it else and add it as a non-steam game on steam then use the mod managers profile launch argument stuff/copy paste a profiles bepinex folder into it to run mods
