With weather events, for example when "thick fog builds up" I either can't see shit or it build to the point I can see through (like it goes over the limit and effect breaks)

The most recent causes of events not working have been due to having duplicate fixplugins patchers inside the mod profile causing the older patcher to load first and killing ss2s event system from being able to properly laod
A log would show this is two ways. The very first being right at the top of it will have it saying it's trying to load a second version of the patcher but couldn't cause one alread exists and the second being an giant wall of MSU/SS2 event cards causing errors during the loading process

It's is solely this that would be the issue if there was two of them from this being bundled with bepinex in the past before being made standalone again
And if it is then it's an extremely easy fix as all you have to do is export your profile as code and then reimport it as a new one and it'll only have the most current version of the mods in the mods list with none of the left over files from before

A log would confirm what's going on but I'm 99% sure this is the issue and that is the fix
The patcher is a core mod for many mods including starstorm. The problem is potentially you also having an older left over version left in the profiles folder somewhere that wouldn't show up on the mod managers UI

It really is a simple fix since reimporting the profile will only use the files of the most recent downloads so it wont have left over stuff from older mod updates potentially left behind

That issue comes from something else that I don't think the patcher can fix and I'm not sure which would do it. Only guess there would be Command Potential since not updated for 2 years. Likely got broken by devotion as well

Why isn't my unlock mod not working on some modded characters? Whenever I right click to unlock them it just locks and unlocked a different survivor. It's not all of them, only some
(Example: Enforcer was unlocked without a problem, but trying to force-unlock Chirr locks/unlocks Engineer instead. It seems like its only a problem with the second page specifically, and Chirrs slot lines up with Engi on page 1. This also goes for Spearman, with trying to force-unlock them locking Bandit instead, who is on the same slot on a different page)

I think it's just a bug regarding having multiple pages of characters, based on how the second page is the only issue and every character that gets locked/unlocked instead of who I actually want to unlock has matching slots with said characters, just on different pages
And apparently the other unlock mod (which is depracated) prevent artifact usage aside from modded artifacts (which for me is literally just potential)

i just feel like normal mithrix should appear if you don't loop but umbral mithrix appears after looping
I was playing with a few content mods and I grabbed an item called blaster sword, I also had a wake of vultures and after killing an overloading elite my game crashed. Apparently the blaster sword item creates an infinite feedback loop with the lighting that is created by the elite type, it creates like 3 swords for each lighting bolt and each sword spawns 3 more lighting bolts causing the game to crash very fast.
blaster sword affects every possible move so its understenable
just confusing and thinking why roll creates an sword
I feel like blaster sword should only be activated directly from skills or not be guaranteed or activated by certain attacks

So I got ror2 on pc finally after playing it on console for years and I didnt wanna go through the entire 100-??? hours of getting everything again so I went through thunderstore and decided to get an unlock tool for my favorite characters and some items, however, when I used the unlock tool and went into a game, I never got those items unlocked at all and cant earn them nor unlock them at all.
is it a problem with the mod itself? cause it "unlocked" everything but I didnt unlock them within the game at all

Depending on what mod this is. I do know that https://thunderstore.io/package/prodzpod/RealerCheatUnlocks/ should 99% work here since you do all the unlocking in game since you're technically just telling the game you're achieving stuff

Alright so double checked and with literally just realercheatunlocks and unlocking every item + command from specifically the logbook > chalenge tab to check and it worked just fine ๐ค
So I guess the next funny steps:
Relaunch steam as admin by right clicking > run as admin then verify game files on steam then try again
Then on the mod manager go to settings > debugging > toggle download cache off and redownload bepinex and/or realcheatunlocks
After that I genuinely don't know

There should be a toggle download cache button there. I don't know how thunderstore mod manager is laid out but on r2modman it's here

The only other check I can think off is to manually unlock an item by getting it normally and seeing if the next run actually lets that item be selected

deleting the actual saves to the game and the data through the sync of steam
Steam cloud for ror2 would have to be turned off first to stop it trying to give you those back and that's done with right clicking ror2 > properties > general > and then turning off steam cloud sync

"C:\Games\Steam\userdata\58227812\632360\remote\UserProfiles" is my personal file path despite having ror2 on my D Drive

Because I found a reddit thread from 8 months ago of someone having a simialr issue and it turns out the locked Items where just the survivors of the void dlc items being locked cause they didn't own the dlc

Oh guide on how to install mods. yeah r2modman is still the go to. Literally run the mod manager then download mods as it'll handle download dependencies for anything you grab

For the most part yeah. Some mods might not be properly networked/networked for MP at all but you kinda just have to hope that's not the case
But vast majority usually are and work fine when everyones running the same setup which is easy enough to do since the mod manager can share profile codes

I like that mod because it lets you make command essences have a chance of dropping instead of guaranteed and also lets you make it balanced by limiting the amount of items you can pick between, it adds alot of variety to runs

As in they work without other players needing the mod as well such as client side ui stuff or host only things like vanilla stat change/interactable speed things
Is there an easier way to check which mods are host only than to manually add each mod one by one and check servers
host only mods have less restrictions than client side mods but they can't specifically add new content, only alter existing content I'm pretty sure.
So they can't add new enemies but they can spawn enemies that are already in the game
Ideally mods would be tagged correctly on thunderstore so it should be easy enough to just go for server-side tagged ones but I know mods like starstorm have the tag which muddies the waters abit (They've tried to remove it but tags apparently can't be removed once they're set lol)

artificer extended
There's Artificer Extended and Skillsmas that add the vast majority of Arti skills with PassiveAgresion being a runner up
But yeah a skills mod changing your resolution sounds very weird and unintended lol
another problem with it
it also spawns heretic's projectiles on near artificier (they just spawn and get stuck there, also its only in multiplayer)
I remeber hifu tweak also added skill and revamp for artificer
Only in MP sounds like it only effects Clients which means funny not networked moment

It's pretty common when a mod that adds characters and/or skills but didn't network them to work properly for non-host players causes desync issues where people spawn as the wrong body or have the wrong skills in their slots

Honestly MP issues are genuinely the worst to troubleshoot cause there tends to be no actual errors happening most of the time so it turns into trial and error

Hey I have a question, has anyone encountered problems with the family event system, specifically with gups? I just started playing last week and within like 10 stages (non looped btw) ive already encountered the gup event twice and then id say 20-30 stages later a 3RD time. And the wiki says family events have a 2% chance to occur THEN theres the odds of what monster it is, so 3 times seems like somethings off right?

then it explains on the mod page. You open the ingame console and type mod_wb_set_multiplier X with X being the player count you want the game to be set to. So yuo'd set it to 4 if you wanted 4 player scaling. Bare in mind though that this is a multiplier so if you were playing 2 player co-op that would end up being 8 player scaling

@fleet mantle while playing the wendy mod i noticed that it's difficult to heal very mobile survivors due to the beam being broken easily

Most likely related to the duplicate fixplugins patcher issue since that was a common occurance when devotion update came out.
mod manager go to settings > profile > export as code > copy code then on the profile select screen > import from code > paste code.
And if it keeps happening after that would need to see a log that can be gotten from settings > locations > browse profile folder > bepinex folder > copy logoutput.txt

Are you using damage or baseDamage for showing your dmg in the display? Because I've found out baseDamage shows the raw base (aka 12) while damage shows your proper dmg (ie affected by leveling and items).

How do you cease using the same stage generation with each new run?
If that means say Titanic Plains > Titanic Plains > Titanic Plains then I assume some mod is erroring on loading into/trying to load into stages that could be getting called out but wouldn't know without seeing a log cause the only other advise there is keep turning mods off in batches to narrow down the problem mod

Then yeah that's a sages shrine moment. In forgotten relics config file there's a save related setting that has the run seed or something like it there that setting that to 0 makes he game normal

Basically the gimmick behind sages shrine is that getting the item from it saves the run seed for as many times as you had the item
So if you kept picking it up you'd keep adding to the counter of how many times you'd replay that run lol

I personally think the boosters should of been a quick burst that would mechanically just serve as a jump, because that kind of handicap already makes it fall behind, when it's already likely to fail in at least one area depending on how you build the tank before starting a run

to me it felt like something to get better at while playing the tank, I think it would get annoying at a certain point though
this happened to me on stage 2 wetland aspect, it was in the corner of the map, below one of the newt spawn spots and right next to an edge, I started the tele and I accidently threw myself off with the jump and that happened. The enemies (including the stone titan) walked off of the map to try and get over to me, after several seconds I got teleported back to the tele area and then killed by enemies 
@solar cairn Some feedback and whatnot on the tank. Overall pretty fun, but couldn't finish a run because I got stuck spinning on the moon tree during the escape and it really soured the mood of the mod, would recommend either a less sticky tank or a respawn failsafe or something after a few seconds of tumbling. Also feels like I never have enough air control if my movement speed was too high, couldn't correct it, kept throwing myself off cliffs (character would be very difficult to play in Eclipse mode with the fall damage modifier). Might be good to make the thrusters a bit stronger if you're trying to fly in the opposite of where you are headed horizontally. It'd also be nice if the cooldowns for the skills were listed. Lastly, might recommend increasing the initial boost from the jump thrusters just a bit so that small jumps are easier.
On a side note, kinda hard to use jump pads as the tank if you're using Hifu's Better Jump Pads mod that makes them not lock your momentum.
sorry the bug destroyed your run, theres something with risk and it hates physics and high velocities (so it will take time to fix). As for the thrusters, cheese cannot buff the thruster strength without making the tank basically a space ship. Initial boost can probably be looked into, but no garauntees of any change. On another note, the tank is not designed to be a spaceship ๐ (so aerial control will be difficult especially in high velocity- however, still manageable with careful skill).

Can you buff some of the tank parts? I noticed the Staghound parts especially being a tad underpowered for something that kneecaps your survivability so badly
on one hand i understand the concern for that body, on the other hand 20 hp is hilarious 
However, I could have cheese buff the thruster strength for the stag once he's done fixing a peculiar bug.
if it helps getting a single movement item for stag really buffs its speed greatly, if im not wrong the speed changes are considered base
It's funny, but it also makes them nearly unusable, and as someone who likes my smallish two-wheelers it fuckin hurts

the staghound might suffer speed drawbacks from HP buffs (as from code- speed and jump stats are affected by health/armor)
If the bodies don't already say the stat change, might be good to add that to the descriptions in a future update, otherwise I'm blind.

yea staghound at the beginning stages is very weak, but if you can survive, staghound becomes really strong (infusion/trascendence + a couple of energy drinks that w/ turbo make it already zoom)
the only thing that kneecaps it really hard is its mass

By defeault yeah as r2api disables prismatic trials due to leaderboard stuff however you can use https://thunderstore.io/package/Wolfo/LittleGameplayTweaks/ or https://thunderstore.io/package/Moffein/ModdedPrismaticTrials/ to re-enable an offline version that uses your whole modlist to make random trial runs

On the topic of the tank, anyone feel like they're shooting the ground a lot with any of the cannons that have an arc to their projectile? Feels like I can be aiming at an enemy while we're both on the ground and my projectile uselessly detonates in front of me, don't know if elevation is playing a part in it. Only the Basic Cannon seems to be alright in that regard.

Arguably no but that's just due to risk of rain 2 scaling. Playing at a higher player count will be harder at the start but will swing to even easier faster than a solo game would simply because you'll get so many more items than you'd normally have on a solo run that you scale to god hood quicker

Sounds like an older fixplugins patcher hiding in the profile folder then since that happened when devotion just came out too.

Looks like part of Bepinex got corrupted when downloading.
On the mod manager go to settings > debugging > Toggle download cache off and redownload bepinex (And if you're not using a mod manager please do yourself the favour and grab r2modman cause it'll make life 100x easier in the future)

This is usually the case when one or more mods arn't networked for MP or everyone isn't using identical configs via all importing from the same profile code. Unfortunately no one can be "Yes it's this mod in particular" cause these issues very often don't actually have errors in the console so you're looking at trial and error to narrow it down

sorry i'm mostly asking about semi-obscure mods, but i remember this one that added an equipment where, once activated, would place an explosive that would slowly build in radius until you activate it again, exploding it. Does anyone know what mod adds that?

This can happen usually due to broken mod(s). Chances are when loading into the stage there was a nullref error in the console witha stacktrace calling out what broke though it can very extremely rarely hapen vanilla too
i recently downloaded the ror2 mod manager and downloaded a few mods (actually faster and item stats). i have also been going for mastery skins on all the survivors and i noticed that the achievements don't trigger (in the victory screen under the unlocked section) until i go into the survivor select screen after the runs over. but it only seems to happen on those types of achievements
steam also doesn't give me the notifications for any achievements at all. but it still says i got them when i go to check steam
it's not too big of an issue because i still get the skins and achievements, but i'm just curious to know why this is happening, or if it's a common issue. if anyone knows

so recently i've been having a problem with my chests not dropping anything when playing modded, i checked console and it says it got a missing method exception : void

what this doesn't explain is why my skin mod works on all survivors, except merc
but i think it's because the new dead cells skin may have shifted the values

They changed the render indexes on merc for seemingly no reason(?) and that killed al the skin mods made prior lol

For the case of ror2 it's extremely unlikely for workshop support due to the nature of mods using .dll files, i.e. straight up raw code. it could happen but we already have a far better system with thunderstore mod manager and r2modman anyway that workshop would 100% be a downgrade
Yeah and don't be scared of using external apps for the mods, it's nowhere near as hard as, say, vortex

Probably just displaying wrong due to an oops moment on the mods side. It should still work anyway if you know what it is

There's a funny little thing inside (atleast for r2modmans) Help button that gives you a launch argument that can be put in ror2s alaunch arguments on steam so that it can bran straight from the steam client again once you've st up the mods you want

Also yeah crash on close is known. Apparently it's due to older character mods doing something the game disagrees with now and a fix is being looked into

Yeah it's honestly the first case I've seen where a current mod activily caused the issue since in the past it was always a problem that was potentially from a prior isntalled mod that randomly bricked a save from actually saving but was solved by just making a new one and using realercheatunlocks to recreate

i use mythicsword's cheatunlock for when skins weren't unlocking right
but i tried and it didn't save
Realer and it's unrealer og are basically the same except realer lets you unlock cahrs from the lobby too

yeah the OG version didn't have suport for it since it was just logbook unlocks
