You can play multiplayer with mods yes
You wil not get banned. There's no anti-cheat or anything like that
Only if the mods don't add content to the game like characters/items/artifacts. Generally mods will be marked as Client or server sided to indicate that they can wwork with non-modded and if it lacks either tag then assume everyone needs them
Should be a config for it in the mod manager unless the mod has yet again managed to break due to a random other mod being loaded as well

Yes there's even mods that basically auto unlock all achievements

Yes. The nature of that mod in particular is that it unlocks everything in game which then triggers the steam/epic achievements as they're just looking for the unlock on the save
So in short. Mods don't block achievements and can even be used to cheat them in lol

Yeah shares the same save. Most modded achievement unlocks will remain as well but obviously without the mod you wont be doing anything with those till reenabled

And older playableish build on lost in transits discord server but it's still very much in that rough wip stage of life
Likely relies on the hosts game settings so if the host doesn't have it then you're stuck with vanilla cap
Which mods are essential to have for performance?
Also, which mods are prone to crashing and/or not very compatible with other common mods?
Due to the nature of the game you're really just kinda left with
HolyDll (And NegativeHMaxHealthFix) to try and brute force more performance out by sledgehammering recalc stats to be multithreaded with varying stability related results. If it works, it works well and when it doesn't it goes horribly but such is the nature.
And then JPs AV Effect Options to turn off various graphics related things which honestly the vast majority of people wont see an improvement performance wise but hey visual clarity.
As for prone to crashing/incompats. Extremely few if they're released for current patch ror2 unless in multiplayer as the glowing rocks in the sky patch seems to have twisted some things when it comes to mod networking but barely anyone has time to test which mods break their setups in MP and actually come back and say which did it so it's kinda a "Hope it works and be ready to troubleshoot"

Most item mods don't make bad items intentionally so you're more likely to do well the more of them you add

drivers whole thing is picking up and rotating through a bunch of weapon drops
pathfinder has a tipper mechanic on his m1, a cool dash/spear throw for range, and a minion to charge up and unleash
I guess its less I less understand driver, and more prefer to have a consistent primary

Both thunderstore mod manager and r2modman are functionally identical mod managers with basically the same major features however the big quirk is that despite both having support for profile codes thunderstore mod man codes wont work with r2modman so bare that in mind when playing modded with friends as you'll want everyone on the same manager just to make syncing modlists painless

Nah it's mostly a thunderkit thing. It can be finicky at complete random for people if you don't do exactly what it's expecting of you
Anyone know if there's a bug caused by mods where you just don't take damage anymore? I was running tougher times and it seemed to just infinitely block any damage I was supposed to take. Only mods I have (along with the dependency mods) are betterUI and env_toggle
I'm trying to run mods through r2modman but when I open it none of the modded characters are in the select screen
I'm pressing "Start modded" on it but it's not working and I'm not sure why

So first question: Is the bepinex console showing up when you start modded? If not go to settings > locations > change risk of rain 2 directory and make sure that's pointed to the currently used ror2 install
If yes then go to settings > debuggin > toggle download cache off and then reimport the mod list into a new profile and try again

Got a question, is it normal for multiplayer to be weirdly laggy? Attempted to multiplayer w/ a friend and we were able to play but my damage was extremely delayed despite enemies moving at a fine speed

Really don't know why env_toggle would even trigger it considering it's just supposed to change up the controls a bit

I stood completely still during the teleporter event with 3 imp overlords, a scavenger, and a bunch of smaller monsters attacking me and wasnt taking any damage
It just kept saying "blocked!" every time

Sorry for basically dying there last night.
The console window that pops up that shows all the mods loading (And gives a warning that literally everyone seems to skip that they really should be reading lol)
And toggling cache off and on again without doing anything else wouldn't do much. The cache being off means the mod manager will redownload mods from the internet rather than using potentially corrupt downloads already installed on the system so the idea is if you have broken mods that arn't loading for no reason then getting a proper redownload tends to fix it.

Yeah need a log where the issue actually happened but the fact I see quite literally just the 3 plugins makes this super easy to trouble shoot anyway. You just get the issue to happen then turn one of the 2 mods off and try to do it again lol

usually that happens when a mod completely fails at one of it's stats hooks but you've none doing anything like that

I need help improving frame rate and lag in a multiplayer game of simulacrum. I got up to about wave 85 ish with one of my friends and I was dropping down to 0 frames at some points. I play with several item mods, was playing with a mod that added an item called "400 tickets" that doubles the item drop of the next non-static container opened. Found said tickets, spent five minutes combing the Sanctuary trying to find a big chest. Found nothing, gave up and opened the nearest regular chest. MFW chest farts out two more 400 tickets.

So i recently started using the artificer extended mod and i've unlocked the ice shard skill, after using the 4 shots it wouldn't recharge so i basically couldn't use it for the rest of my run. also this started recently but i been using the env toggle mod that allows artificer's hover to be a toggle rather than a hold but now it completely doesn't work. i'm not sure how to fix these.
is there a ror2 mod that tells you what items do before you pick them up?

BetterUI gives stats, proc coeff and total damage/chance with and without stacks, pingprovements lets you ping an item to see what it does

hey so i was playing the arsonist character mod for ror2 and i beat eclipse 1 with him, and i relaunched the game later without mods
when i launched with mods again my eclipse 1 win was erased on arsonist
is there any way i can edit my file to get that progress back?
i find it weird cause while i lost my eclipse progress on him, i kept the arsonist-specific achievements that i did in that run (alt m1 and mastery)
Use content unlockers like RealerCheatUnlocks or that one eclipse unlocker mod

Eclipse is very weird when it comes to saves for modded chars. Sometimes the mod author just doesn't have it setup correctly which means every game boot even if the mods present each time will cause it to reset cause it's not saving to the "right" character: This fixes that issues: https://thunderstore.io/package/TheMysticSword/ModdedCharEclipseFix/
In the case of turning mods off and then booting without them causing a reset it's likely just because it doesn't have an "Unlock/Achievement" so it's not being saved to the profile in that case which might be the same issue that he above mod can fix

Sure this isn't a stage aesthetic thing? I know that can end up darkening the game after teleporter events cause post processing effects can be funny when you change them

As far as I'm aware off the only thing starstorm does is temporary event stuff with post processing but that resets back to what the stage normally looks like after
I'm also not aware of any event in it that goes giga dark so if it happens again I guess grab a screen of which event pops up as it happens
But I'm also like 99% sure what's going on is a stage aesthetic thing if you've got that

I see. Starstorm 2 won't do that, it's a pretty fleshed out mod, I'm sure that Slipskip is right, must've been one of the stage aesthetic shader overlapping itself in some kind of code error

Could be since storm events are dynamic post processing changes while stage aesthetic is a static change and the TP probably does some funky stuff too but storms don't really happen till like stage 5 now as of recent so probably not that
So I think it's just funkyness going on
And yeah it does happen in sanctuary and scorched ares
But I've 100% experience it alot as well. I think Hifus mentioned before that they can't actually do much about it

Forgotten Relics Sage shrine gives a book thing that keeps th seed the same as the run that got it on for the next run
If you ended up grabbing a few of them you can go into forgotten relics config and set the save value back to 0 to turn it of again (Till you grab another book but now you know)

Double check config if you installed the mod via a modpack or see if you have a mod that conflicts with BetterUI

Tierselector seems very simple. Just open mod manager config after running the game and select the tier you want to drop. and itemtier selector more or less explains it on the mod page too. look at the config and place items in the tier you want them in witha handy linked wiki page that gives the internal item names to place in the mods config

Can try I guess. Run game with mods first > Mod manager has a button called config > click that and look for the two mods you ran the game with. Change tier selector to tier of item you wanna drop for example white > go to itemtierselection and remove any items you don't want in white tier to drop > add item you do want to drop in white tier.

His health is too low for a melee character with no i-frames and strong ranged attacks
His ranged attack makes you stop
Mercenary has some i-frames, Acrid has plague and damage over time, Loader has no fall damage and barrier
Sonic has nothing to back him up
He's sonic though so he don't need no help

It's simple really. Make his shift and R ability work as the forward and backwards scroll through weapons. Utilize the right click as the alternate attack, while the left click is the attack itself.
For example. Pull out Coin Pistol, right click the 4 coins. Cycle with R quickly to railgun to do a railcoin combo.
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: Allow Number Key switching with each weapon being accessed with keys 1-6 so their is an alternative to weapon cycling that isn't spamming shift and R to go through each weapon.
To be honest you could just integrate the standard controls from Ultrakill into the game.
Another thing. Ctrl doesn't activate sprint. It activates slide.
Lastly, allow tradional ror camera 3rd person gameplay as well as a first person.

being accurate to the source material isnt really enough to make an interesting character in a 3D setting
cyborg is already a very basic kit, and translating him 1:1 into 3D makes him even more basic

due to the AI turning peanut-brained if theres too many enemies around
I expected Chirr to be bullshit since I didn't see a limit on the friends it could make.
Then I saw it can only make one friend at a time, and doesn't seem to be able to befriend bosses.
yeah you only befriend bosses if they're natural spawns instead of tele spawns
But befriending a templar is always funny.
the only way to make chirr "strong" is to get a very rare enemy (takes a while), or getting the variants mod and snagging yourself an autogolem
variants mod adds a ton of variant enemies, they're the same as the base enemy but with a few big changes
beetles that go fast and have higher attack speed, golems that charge their laser in like 0.5 seconds and sound like they're screeching, lemurians with actual flamethrowers, etc

Interesting idea, as all the on-kill explosions currently in the game deal base damage, but I feel like it would still be outclassed, especially as a red item. I'd say up the starting radius to 12m to bring it up to par with Gas, WilloWisp, and Void Flame, let the radius increase with stacks (also like other explode on kill items), and bump the damage up to at least 50%, +40% per stack, and remove the cap.
i was a bit causious with the specific numbers not to make it insane on big onehit characters like railgunner and loader
I can understand that fear, but gas and wisp already are a little insane on those characters, so a red item should blow them out of the water. Plus, as a red item, you're very unlikely to stack them unless you loop multiple times.

you can use eclipse selector for eclipse
and realer cheat unlocks for everything else
Hey, sorry if this has been asked before but I've downloaded the mod manager for the first time and I can't boot up via steam because an error message pops up saying
'Error
An error occured whilst searching Steam library locations
ENOENT: no such file or directory, scandir 'D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps''
How can I go about fixing this?
I have ROR2 downloaded so I don't know where the roadblock is

Hey, I'm playing with BetterUI, Shrine of Dio's and Aerolt, playing multiplater with my friends but every other stage I just don't spawn in? Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix this?

its kinda unreliable
tougher times wont stop the damage from ramping/burn debuff stacking and every stack gives less and less block
what if i have 4096 tougher times
it stacks logarithmically /hyberbollically I forgor which one
i guess but just going for stuff like FMP, IDP, and Rejuv Rack as well as using his support passives is just easier

Sans Survivor - First Draft:
=Re-color/texture/skin Commando for first model, work on real model later. Refer to Battle Buddy skin below for reference. Custom Models tend to be skinny in a janky way, lacking the tasteful bulkiness of official survivor models' bodies or equipment to thicken the silhouette. Commando is a great example of good bulk while being small.
=Transcendence as a passive, shield instead of health, to simulate stamina/dodging bar. 1HP, protected while its up, but only recover it by resting out of combat, like shield. Maybe attacks are powerful but drain health/shield to reflect exertion/fatigue? A buff could be attached preventing attacks harm from attacks (knockback, stuns, procs) since they're being dodged entirely.
=Primary Skill: Bones - Projectiles default, melee alt primary? Funny bonk is hard to give up on. Exact features of the projectiles is its own matter.
=Secondary Skill: Blue Attacks - Slowing/crippling enemies, or Telekinesis, throwing them around? Self-buff that make primary cause Blue debuff, or AOE pulse that debuffs close enemies. Point and click debuff target enemy, root them? Click to push, hold to root? Darth Vadar mod for reference.
=Utility: Shortcut (Blink/Dash/Teleport) - Cooldown based on range traveled? Or build it into his passive, sprinting instead blinks, or modified wax quail. Could then put Telekinesis here.
=Special: Gaster Blasters - Charge them to make them more powerful but increase cooldown? Or just have smaller ones default and bigger ones alt? The blessing and curse of Sans is having so many ways to perform the same four-five basic powers.
=Style: Fit Sans into Risk by flavoring his powers as technology? Electromagnetism instead of magic, floating drone gaster blasters, EM controlled rebar bones? Or be upfront about magic, make it raw Sans Undertale.

Sans would have such a huge fucking passive just to encompess his unique attributes
Stamina bar, teleporting, karma...
You can use existing code, repurpose it for these.
Reuse poison for karma
wax qual for teleporting
trans for stamina
Cripple for blue attacks

I keep getting this bug that effectivly kills my runs It always starts after the first stage, the music doesnt change, the stage name shows the wrong stage, and the game can no longer pause
From here the run literally can not end, any attempts to simply results in a softlock
Even forcing the credits sequence or obliterating doesnt result in the run results screen showing up
