Topaz Brooch and barrier in general is your friend. Barrier doesn't count as getting hit, so Topaz Brooches can really save you. Shield does count as getting hit however

As for stompers,
Headstompers have a 10 second cooldown, and you hold E (or whatever you have interact set to) while airborne in order to slam down, increasing its damage and AoE based on fall height
At minimum they do 1000% in a 1m AoE, while at the maximum determined fall height for the item they do 10000% in a 100m AoE

I just completed the mercenary alt achievement for this today. One of the crates in the first area drops a red item. If you take the frost relic and some brooches, its ez game. I went to the lunar shop and got a shaped glass as well cuz it makes your barrier tick down slower. Also, its only two areas (not sure if this is normal or not), so if you DO go to the lunar shop, you can wait out your doppelganger there cuz the timer keeps counting down and theyll fall into the chasm 🙂

Stompers have some targeting, so you can try and take advantage of that
I find slightly pressing the movement keys help too

Activate the combat shrine and kill the 3 imps at the start of tp and reset if you dont get a green drop, 3 x 12% chance so not too bad
