1st stage also has a TC280 you can grind up gold for, that thing is incredibly strong early game

Yeah I know, the reason I started to path the way I do after hitting the teleporter is cuz of the damn wisps. Hitting that chest immediately after I hit the teleporter will get rid of some of the wisps that spawn
If there is enough money barrels nearby they'll help, but honestly your best bet it to hang on top of those cargo containers, don't go near edges to draw aggro, and proactively prioritize wisps that are trying to get you

Finally got it today! Took a few attempts, but was able to do this like so:
- Kill the first three crystals ASAP and rush to the teleporter
- Kill the first wave of enemies (which should have gathered by the teleporter) before activating the boss
- One of the enemies in the first wave should drop a White item. Take Topaz Brooch for safety armor
- Kill the Wandering Vagrant quickly by standing on its head
- Wandering Vagrant will drop a Yellow item. Take Little Disciple for crazy-strong homing missiles
- Topaz Brooch + Little Disciple kills most enemies quickly AND provides armor on kill for a few "safe" hits to your HP. Beat level 2 ASAP before the difficulty ramps up too much
That's it! Took about seven attempts, but finally beat it with just two OP items. The second level is very easy if you can manage to beat the first boss and pick up Little Disciple. Good luck!

I know you're a natural at getting Queen to eat her own acid somehow, Cabbage, but for me queen ruins all my drone-strats and I find myself stepping on her ground acid too often, but with other bosses I can usually just fine a path to sprint to combat them
queen also walks the slowest of all bosses, so she's impossible to lure into traps

if you are in midair when the queen does the spit, the spit will just bounce off of you, it's very easy to time as merc

queen is also always surrounded by her slowdown fields which just generally puts a bunch of stuff on my screen and make it hard to dodge all the wisps
if you were just fighting a queen in isolation then sure, she's not much
and while it's easy to dodge everything as a merc, queen is still the least easy
vagrant can be a bit problematic with no drones at all
I'd say vagrant is hardest with no minions whatsoever, but once you mix a drone in, two especially, queen is hardest
now you're not dodging the queen blast anymore, she's probably aiming it at a drone
or with chaos she's aiming it at some golem , and you have a long-term hurt field on the ground to deal with
things flip around a lot with chaos permanently enabled and not actually being that great at merc tech

there seems to be RNG at the start that determines whether or not the lemurian aggros to you
and if he does then I have trouble even getting the drones
and if I do get one of the drones, I'm forced to go to an area that gets the drone stuck to grab the other drone
I'm also quite frustrated that there is no quick restart button
I don't understand why they implemented a mode centered around trying multiple times while making it really tedious to try multiple times

My path in the video had the least chance of getting drones stuck. Grab the one in the ship, then exit out the front side, get the one in the cave entrance, and then just generally stay away from the shipwreck in the middle
If you must cross the map, either go over the ship or around the cliff

Getting the guaranteed boss tier item is huge
The wisp tener's mask on a glass relic stage makes the second stage an auto win without damage, specially if you get topaz. So the nly issue was really doing the first one, and I found hat reliying the least possible on drones was the way to go

turns out having 300 effective hp and killing everything super fast is way better than having 1 effective hp and relying on things that can hurt you

if it's still the same trial check Cabbage's video on it from pinned messages and just try doing same things at around the same time and you will get same spawns etc
it will take some grinding but it's a big shortcut

idk if it's a hard trial but usually it's good to keep something ready against surprise lemurians and wisps and not make stupid mistakes as generic as that sounds
if you just keep grinding trying to replicate his run there is a pretty good chance you will eventually succeed after finding some of the more critical points in the run that can deal dmg to you

@tough belfry Regarding Acrid: aside from the obvious (keep track of cooldowns, use the abilities as soon as they're off cooldown), use your spit before epidemic because the special skill has a long cooldown. Dash cancelling your swipes has a higher DPS, and strafing counterclockwise prevents the swipes from missing the boss. Face the boss somewhat so that the projectile attacks connect. For the leap you should leave a puddle of acid where the boss spawns for some additional damage if possible. In the fight itself you can position in a way that minimizes leap travel distance (leaping into a wall, slope, boss hitbox, etc...)

you can throw an endless amount of dev time and money at the problem and cheaters will simply find a different cheat to use
and it's not a big enough problem to be worth any dev time or money
the only somewhat realistic way is to have the trial hosted on their servers and you'd have to connect to their servers for playing remotely, and nobody wants to strive for perfection with lag of all things
so you can stop cheaters by ruining the game for non-cheaters, is that worth it?

cheaters are stopped with a replay system and moderation but neither are realistic for this game
it works for other games and it is pretty effective at stopping cheaters although you can never prevent scripting
but there is a difference between combining gameplay with macros/scripts and turning on cheat engine to auto-complete something
one is really easy to do, the other requires some effort combined with pre-existing knowledge
