what I did is just did single blinding assaults through the horde while kiting them for a long time

and eventually, a majority of the beetles freeze up and stop moving

from there you just single them out with rising thunder and eviscerate

using rising thunder while above the horde and then dashing away works too, just gotta dash away quick (and if you’re scared of being hit, use eviscerate instead)

If you're careful enough you can graze their heads

just try doing the rising thunder blinding assault then, or simply blinding assault above them

keep in mind, you gotta use rising thunder while you’re a bit above them

then get out asap

Rising thunder has a pretty good bottom hitbox

If you need more items than just guillotine, I recommend getting sticky bombs from the printer

take it very slow and be patient when doing the horde cleaning, just don’t take over 5-6 mins

One thing I forgot to mention is that stun grenade (you get from the upper hill segment on stage 1) is able to separate the horde by only stunning some of the beetles every time you dash

so it might be something to consider if the horde is a problem

then again BA already stuns so it’s prob redundant

The way to cheese it is : buy the 4 missile drone ( thx@white frost) and then buy one turret at the teleporter on stage one. Kill boss etc. Take little discipline. Take blue portal. At stage 2 go straight to the portal. Activate it and there's a rock to hide behind where you can sprint in so your character is always shooting little homing wisp at the boss and ennemies. ALL the ennemies are attacking your drone so you just sit back and wait

There's something I've noticed on this trial's version which may help those trying to get the achievement.

You have the option to go to the blue portal as it spawns on the first stage but you have to fight a overloaded wandering vagrant. But if you skip the shop, you get an alternative version of stage 2 with the overloaded beetle queen. At the tp there is a turret and a gunner drone which helped a big deal.

I think I did point it out in my video. I prefer vagrant to the queen because Queen will spawn little helpers that eat drone /turret aggro, and if she ever gets a shot off I have to keep the ground in mind.

Turret at boss fights always helps of course.

I knew this challenge was going to take me forever but finallyyyyyyyy
Granted, this was probably one of the easiest seeds to do this but I finally did it.
For anyone trying to do this; When you first spawn, turn right and climb up the structure to the green shop, get Guillotine, break the crystals (you can actually choose to get the mountain challenge for double fire bands), extra items are up to you but do not use your recycler. Since Enigma is active you will lose it after your first recycle, and you need this for the lunar shop.
Complete the teleport, go to the shop, and buy the purity lunar item, glass shard, and the spinal looking lunar item. Use your recycler on the spinal, and it'll turn into another glass shard. Once you arrive in the level, straight ahead there's a big chest with old gillotine, but the most important item to get asafp is topaz in a purple chest straight ahead after the big chest. Nearby, there's a ruin door that has a shop with two meats and a teddy bear, if you want to be safe you can grab the teddy for random chances on ignoring damage. After you get topaz, and if you happen to get enough money for the bear and guillotine, just make a mad dash to the teleporter, it's the offshoot island connected by the raising land bridge. While you will have two glases, Topaz will protect you from failing the challenge as long as you keep killing, and you should be capable due to your tremendous damage output and low difficulty. For even more security, there's a lucky/gamble shrine, after two purchases you'll get your hands on the Backup equipment, summoning 4 drones. It's very close to the teleporter.
I'm terrible at Mercenary but I didn't think I'd ever get it due to the rediculously hard requirements. You can do it!

this should make uppercut instantly kill blazing mushrums

3rd equip is a blast shower, you can use it once to immediately reset band cooldown, so you can take out two blazing mushrum in quick succession

alternatively take the blue portal and fight jellyfish instead

The next equipment you get is the war drums. Which can give you a speed boost intage 2 to avoid jellies. With purity you can spam m2 basically every second

Then right next to the tele ( only if you go through blue portal) there's a shrine of chance that if you use twice gives the backup

You can use that to distract the jellies while you hide during the boss

If you don't use the blue portal stage 2 boss is blazing mushrooms. Which is. Almost impossible to no hit unless you are real good

i recycled an armor plating on the back of the ship into a crowbar, got guillo, a backup mag, 2 syringes (3d printed under the ship), missile drone up on the cliffside by the U-turn thing, entered newt's shop, bought glass, purity and that thing that boosts damage for all in an area, and bumrushed the teleporter on stage 2 with jellyfish at my tail

glass does not count against the 'chieve, so you can oneshot jellies
with a dash

for mercenary challenge in this prismatic trial (thats how I unlocked it): what I did was went for the large chest that drops bandolier and rerolled it with recycler to red whip (This will help in the second stage). Then I got the money from the crystals to get the old guillotine on the large container from the multi-shop. All that is left is to beat the beetles without taking damage. Use Ocular HUD within the boss fight. Careful fighting ice and fire beetles as they are they are extremely dangerous.

Then go through the blue portal. By the time you beat the beetles and leave the lunar bazaar, you should have blast shower ready. Just use it once it is off cooldown. That should give you spinel tonic as your next use item.

Now, your job is to break the crystals. The red whip from the beginning gives you that extra mobility to avoid explosion from the jellyfishes. Use your SHIFT and R ability to escape. Once you break the crystals, go to the portal and activate it. Now, use your spinel tonic and just run around the jellyfishes and let them explode. Once they are all dead, go through the portal and you got your skill. Careful not to take damage while finishing.

Melee classes sometimes rely on that ability to get in, hit their target hard, and get out, and its situations like these that make that ability hard to actually practice.

I might call it quits too. I think this needs to be some sort of challenge run disconnected from the prismatic trials.

The fact you can't retry, plus the multiple ways you can just take miniscule or unobvious ways of damage makes this less of a challenge and more of a chore.

nope you can grab it. purity is not bad either so you can m2 around what I did was I went to the shrine above the teleporter after the three crystals and it drops the backup. use that then m2 around until the preon is up use that on the boss

This is what worked for me:
Equip the horizontal slash for M2 (not upper cut), this will give you extra mobility.
Do as the video says for stage one
For stage two, use the combination of M2, Shift, and R to hit the first time crystal (M2 has a 3 sec cooldown btw)
When the first one is busted, use M2 to reach the Left time crystal. Destroy it and move to the right one (you can loop around for it if needed). From there, use the tonic to rush to the teleporter and do as the video says.

man i hate playing the mercenary but i saw that this week is a really easy/good week to get the prismatic trial done on him. but i seem to keep getting burned at the very end. is there a way to immune it or something? i feel like i get burned even though i'm using my utility to get away.
