this is how I did it on today's iteration
1: when you spawn in, jump behind you and grab the crowbar right behind spawn.

3: kill the crystal on the circle
4: jump across the gap, land near the chance shrine. don't use it.
progress forward and kill the two prismatic crystals on the bridge.
5: grab the armor plate in the middle, go to the teleporter on the far bridge.
6: go past the teleporter, and to the chest beyond
7: AMBER GEM YES
8: use teleporter, kill bugs.

the reason topaz is so broken in glass is that, unlike the other healbuff items in this game, which work off health percentage, topaz gives a flat 45(30? not sure the exact amount) for every enemy killed at 1st stack

This week on Ethereal 4 Scrubs:
Step 0: Have 4 lunar Coins
Step 1: Grab Crowbar, Fireworks, and Brooch from the first stage whilst squishing some Beetles, if you like.
Step 2: Behind the Brooch (which is behind the Tele), hit the Newt Altar on the edge. Squish more beetles, then hop through the blue portal to Newt's hidey Hole.
Step 3: d r e a m o f f i r e
Step 4: Run straight, hug walls and edges, keep an eye out for Bison.
Step 5: circle around the ground floor counter clockwise while smashing crystals. Beneath the Third Crystal is some delicious gamer fuel.
Step 6: After acquiring liquid energy, zoom over to the Teleporter, then run straight up the ramp and hop over the closed door onto an empty cliff. Bison will not spawn here, but they can still boop you if they hit a rock the wrong way and go flying, so keep an eye out for that.
Step 7: run back and forth along the edge to slowly bait the bison up the ramp to THE MOSH PIT
Step 8: after partying too hard those bison will fall over and you can swoop down to the tele
Step 9: enjoy
I recommend doing a scouting/practice run with Huntress to get a feel for the route, but I'm sure y'all can sort it out

for merc, use your special IMMEDIATELY when the wisps spawn, then chain into a series of radial dashes
you will likely get an ammo if you hit enough wisps, so repeat it until all the marked wisps are dead and dash to the teleporter, hit it, and run the fuck away

I have completed the trial about 3 times now without falling bellow 100% hp with the Merc, but I'm not getting the achievement. Is it bugged or is the Glass artifact messing it up? I took some wisp hits but had Brooch-barrier and did not fall below my max hp.

I've got it down to a science, and have completed the entire run without going below 100% health about 5 times now to be sure it works. The wisps are too much on the way to the portal 90% of the time. Iāll try to fight them to keep my brooch shield up, but then they just insta-gib me with 6 shots at once that I canāt dodge.

Really workin on the strat. Current improvements are looking at the following things :
- Better movement and speed at the very start
- Get the void revear death to kill the other revear
- Try to get a better quick kill on first boss imps
but so far it's lookin pretty solid! Huntress is the strat.

Iāve been trying to do the 0 damage on merc thing this trial and I canāt get through the first stage
the second is easy because of the topaz printer... but i struggle a lot with the first and idk what to do
my current strategy is go along the right wall and get basically all of the chests and pink crystals until i can turn left and go for the tele, at which point iāll preon the boss and take him out, but usually towards the end of the boss fight I get hit by a wisp or something
or iāll get smacked by a stray lemur fireball while going down the right path or blow myself up with the crystals/get hit waiting to use one of my dash attacks to avoid taking damage

For Mercenary: Ethereal, it is way more possible (yet 81% luck based) to get it with the current seed on PC; Artifact of Glass really helps with solidifying the "don't get hit" mentality lolz
I spent like an hour doing it earlier, and devised a near specific strat for achieving it if anyone (perhaps specifically @sudden stone) may need it in the next.. 2-ish days that the seed is active

Okay, so basically
I recommend Mercenary's standard loadout, but replace Whirlwind with Rising Thunder.
Youāre going to spawn in the Wetland Aspect, on a branch facing an EXP barrel, just go ahead and open it before looking left. Three chests will be present, arranged in a triangle and you will only be able to select 2; the closest to you has Energy Drink, pick that up. The one to the left has Focus Crystal, pick that up. The one on the right has Tougher Times, you can pick that one up if you donāt want Energy Drink, but the Focus Crystal I will deem necessary.
The thing about this trial is that you're on Glass and Swarms, so things are basically gonna die in one hit (even more so with Focus Crystal), but Soul is active too, and Wisps are literally your worst enemy in this Trial. The best way I've found to deal with enemies is to LShift Lemurians and try to R any groups of Wisps.

The skill here is basically dodging Lemurian fireballs and either dashing to cover to slicing through Wisps as nimbly as you can. LShift is your best friend in this trial, it one taps anything that isn't a large monster, and helps you deal with Wisps. If you're lucky, a single dash will kill both the monster and the ghost Wisp.
When you finish picking up your items, from where you spawned, you want to run straight left/West to the two pillars you see in the distance. That's where two Time Crystals will be, as well as one chest and a Mulitshop Terminal.
You WILL encounter Lemurians and Wisps here, more Lemurians than Wisps, and you just need to LShift and R through them while you can.
When you're at this area, destroy only one of the Time Crystals and immediately rush towards the log bridge to your left to destroy the next Time Crystal.
It's likely you will encounter more Wisps here, LShift through them and take cover as necessary. This entire stage is literally just rushing around and trying to dodge with ample use of your mobility skills. Time Crystal #2 is beyond the little plateau, straight from the log bridge, just go ahead and destroy it. Jellyfish might spawn here and chase you; in that case, defeat them because you cannot outrun them.
Go right from the Time Crystal while in the water underneath all the environment, stick to the left wall. If you're lucky, basically nothing else will have spawned here. The last Time Crystal will be in plain sight, just LShift and R to it, run underneath the log and pillar to buy the mystery item (it's Tougher Times) and the chest which has Sticky Bomb in it. After picking these up, rush to the Teleporter (which is literally right there) to start the boss.
I should mention, Time Crystals should be shattered with your R to stay safe and not take any damage from their explosions.
Despite Swarms being enabled, if you were fast enough, only one Beetle Queen will spawn from the Teleporter, around the area from which you came when destroyed the second Time Crystal. To defeat her as quickly as possible, R on her (which should cut her HP in half) and LShift three times through her, your last dash being towards the Teleporter. One more M1 swing will kill her, and M2 to punt the Wisp that spawned from her death. Defeated this quickly, only Beetles should have spawned around the area, and you can just run to the Teleporter, pick up Ukulele, and leave.
The next stage is the first variant of Distant Roost, you will spawn in the little cave that opens to the main area by the "center" of the stage. Don't even look at it, just run behind where you spawned and traverse the little cave, all 3 Time Crystals will be on a path around the backside of the map.

oh it is, I was getting real mad when a Wisp would just spit on me right as I'm about to exit stage 1
But uh, you may likely encounter Wisps when destroying the first Crystal in the Distant Roost, to where they might be a bit spread out. Two of them, most likely, just R and LShift them individually, and pick up the Backup Mag from the Multishop Terminal in the distance. Follow around the path by the cliffside, you WILL encounter Lemurians here. LShift through them as best you can, destroy the second Crystal, and drop down on the left side where the last Crystal will be. You might find more Wisps here, just LShift and R, can't risk any Wisps being alive for the boss fight.

Just activate the Teleporter, stand on the rock, and just wait for him to rise from the ground
As soon as he stands up tall, you need to basically waste your entire combo on him before he does anything: R > M2 > LShift x3 > M1 > M2, and this should kill him fast enough for nothing else to have spawned
As soon as he falls, just R to the teleporter if it's up (idk grab Warhorn if you want for the extra like 250 points lol), activate Teleporter, and just jump off the stage while using your mobility skills to stay afloat
and boom, You have unlocked Mercenary: Ethereal
