i think its gonna be the boss that gives people the most trouble, but if you can get them to hit eachother right after the spawn you can duck out and charge the portal off to the side by where the newt alter spawns high on the wall

there was 2 left after i got done charging for me, i just dashed around over their heads cleaning up adds since they dont spawn anymore and got them to clap eachother for aggro

at that place you pick up tough, you can opt for a tri tip instead for more dps on cystals to so they dont hold you up so long if youre already close to not getting hit
i actually did grab uke too on my successful run, but the added time caused me 2 monster spawns
i was lucky in that they were just more titans but depending on what you get it might slow you down too much to be worth

Are they ever gonna change merc challenge to get his second ability? Like I am not normally complaining about difficult challenges but jesus this is WAY too hard. I feel helpless and like I'm never gonna get this ability, its making me want to completely give up on merc as a character. I may have to attempt this for a 4th day from how hard it is.
It's probably me just being a baby but fuck why does it have to be this? Its only gonna get more annoying when this seed switches and I have to hope to what ever god there is to give me a lunar pod that gives me transcendence and if not well I can be sure it'll take me maybe another week to possibly get the ability.

No see the thing is Im fine with challenges but I hate having to rely completely on rng for wisp spawns and hoping to god the beetle queen doesn't use her acid spit and hoping it doesn't get me with splash.
Also dark souls wouldn't be that good of a comparison, mostly because while RoR2 and DS require a lot of skill, RoR2 is mostly praying to the gods and praying rng doesn't fuck you over. I love dark souls and have no problems with it, I thought its difficulty was perfect. Mostly my problem with the comparison is cooldowns, DS had none, with merc my only form of being able to dodge and stay alive is with the abilities. I've always lost to a wisp because I used my abilities taking out other wisps.

it feels like the golem tracking is super inconsistent. sometimes they take 3 hours to turn around, other times they're locked onto me the entire time
and also TIL mushroom lava puddles deal damage in an area above them. you don't have to be on the ground to take damage

I managed to beat the golems on the first level with Loader with a crowbar, a Tougher Times, and the Chronobauble that was around.
The real challenge, which I haven't overcome, was the titans in the second level.
Pro tip: gasoline is not good for Loader in the trial, because it will ignite you too

ive been really trying to get the merc skill with the trial and its taking me like 300+ attempts to do it. ive been following the cabbage route but the first bit with the two golems wisp and mushroom i can never get consistently (either it takes too long, the golems dont spawn in the right places or i get hit by the wisp) and then i havent even made it past the teleport yet bc i dont understand how you dont get hit on that one. any help what so ever?

I played loader, swung up to the top of the broken mothership with the hole, started charging the gauntlet on the way down, broke the first crystal with enough momentum to push me to the second one, broke it using M1, used the ring going up to the cave and swung to the last crystal, broke it with M1 as well, grabbed on to the spike above and swung into the cave, putting down R on the left to deal with the two blazing solus pods that spawn, fall down the cave to where the newt alter is, activated the alter, voided, respawned slightly further down the cave, fully charged the gauntlet, killing both solus pods on the way out, used the geyser to the top of the map, started charging the gauntlet, activated the teleporter and let go of shift at the same time giving me enough momentum to push me to the healing aura, bought the aura twice, hit behind the small spike on the right of that, started charging the gauntlet again, grappled to the ceiling, shoved through as many solus pods as I could, prayed an item dropped, hid behind the big spike (barely within the teleporter zone), swung back, going through as many as I could again, landing in the healing aura again. I then had 2 options. If the glacial clay templar had caught up with me, I'd lure it into the aura and tank it with M1 and loader's barrier, and every so often I'd loop back to either fighting the solus pods/ imps. if it hadn't caught up with me, I'd do the same thing, only ignored the healing aura. once it was done i'd get one old guillotine, and if an item dropped, either a cautious slug if it was white, or a stealthkit if it was green. i then went through the blue portal, grabbed 4 glass, and went back out. this is where things get weird. if you don't go to the blue portal, the map is still rallypoint, and there's 2 blazing stone titans. if you do use the blue portal, it becomes 2 blazing beetle queens, and teleporter and crystals change locations. the teleporter moves to the cave, making it easier to...
avoid brass contraptions. because I had 4 glass, the fight wasn't a problem, and I could passively hang out just outside the cave still within the teleporter zone. that's how i did it maywell

It's the second time I ever even did a prismatic trial. The first time I did it was for scythe, and I simply didn't touch it again until recently. I really like the idea of speedrunning a game like this, especially with a repeatable seed. So cool.

i have also noticed getting to 2nd stage in under 3 minutes changes the enemy spawns around
instead of imps spawning with golems following after, there's an Overloading brass contraption already on route to the crystals and it spawns glacial/blazing golems around you instead.
if you still have the turret by the tele in stage 2 the contraption straight up ignores you

the longer the run goes on for, the more points the AI has to spend, which means they can spawn stronger bosses instead
the best example is in stage 1

its probably cause Queens spawn more beetles, can shoot those bugs to slow you and your att speed as well as shoot at you

Playing loader and having to deal with where they spawn is really inconvenient. The one that spawns on the bridge gets me every time. I tried rex several times but I never even got back the probes. I always relied on getting past them so they'd stop their attack, hiding, and then charging them again, just enough to take a couple out, allowing the healing aura to be enough to keep me good for a bit

if you hide in the container the titan is stood on until tele is fully charges he'll be beside the other one.

To put it in my perspective, when the blazing titans spawned, I had at least 1 of every golem elite spawned in, 2 overloading solus probes as well as an overloading contraption, 3-4 blazing/ glacial imps and a couple blazing/overloading mini mushrooms.
