I've been trying etherial on this seed. I got REALLY close on 4 different times. Like, 4 times I take <8 damage and one time I only took 1 damage according to the score screen. Random fall damage, unlucky wisps, or the trail of fire coming out of nowhere keeps getting me. I've just been getting all 5 missile drones, a hopoo, the milky crysalis(+ fuel cell from boss) and if I have money after the titan fight in the first level, an incinerator drone. (Sometimes I pick up the stationary turret just to give me breathing room when the worm runs out to the distance to attack it while I stay and charge the portal to stop spawns)Then I just run straight to portal on seconds stage and run around while letting the drones kill the boss.

It's interesting though. The fire trail of that blazing magma worm basically shows where the worm is going to go.

It climbs up ramps and stuff, so it seems like the worm sometimes acts like it walks on the ground when choosing a path to move along

also it means stay away from the bridge. that fire trail does little damage, but even 1 point is failure. It likes crossing the bridge between the two storage crates.

I also learned that the stone titan's glowy thingy above his shoulder actually does something. it shoots random bullets here and there. I never knew that before trying this challenge.

Also, be careful about how you attack those crystals. I lost a run because I got a critical hit on it when I would have otherwise just weakened it just enough to finish it with my R.

I got the 5 turrents in the 1st level and the full cell and just 1 hoof in the second level.. and I was fine to get the achivement. Just alot of running around and letting the turrets kill the imps

I mixed on it, since I'm not a total scrub, only missing alt color on artificer- but I don't like attempting Ethereal because getting scratched and not noticing ruins it. And it's just not fun for me to do the exact same thing over and over.
Granted, I get the appeal, there are speedrunners out there and zero damage is a nice category.
But I already do that at work I'm here for the rng. Also considering acheivos are unlocked items I don't mind some happening through the course of the game as rewards for new players, but there should also be really difficult ones too. So I also want to see things that require a ton of attempts in the mix.

So yeah. IDK. If they nerf Ethereal I'll probably finally unlock it, if not I'll get it eventually anyway. At least the bag is mixed right now

Keep jumping and moving around in circles, if you are moving in different directions than than the ranged attacks they are more likely to miss, also listen to the spawn sounds and try to have some idea what is around you even when you are mainly focusing on something else. Depending on situation it can be worth it to kill the 2 small lemurians behind you before tackling the boss properly for example just so you dont get a suprise fire ball on your back and so on.

grab fuel thingy > reach stage 4 unlock either loader or rex and exit run > start new run with a good character and obliterate (bring fuel thingy if unlocked loader) > go agane > that will leave you at 18 stages and all the coins you need for arti+acrid and have 3 s1's complete so start a new run look for newt, if you dont find it complete s1 quit and pray to rngesus you get it > go get acrid + arti and complete 12 stages and done

also takes forever to kill crystals and needs very good los to do it

i used the 2 brooches and the 2 movement speed items as well as the boss damage item on the first stage. make sure to pick up the preon.

on the second stage, i destroyed the time crystals asap and used the brainstalks and preon to take out the blazing beetle queen
