I'm trying to get Ethereal on this seed

and the Cabbage video shows an interesting way to blow up the first crystal

They time their M1-3 and cancel it into Eviscerate, and then after eviscerate they M2 and it destroys the crystal

I'm trying to attempt this, but the crystal seemingly always has just a sliver of health left

Both hits of Merc's M2 are hitting the crystal, for reference

So what cabbage is doing is Merc's 3rd hit expose transfer

the 3rd hit of your primary inflicts expose

and you can cancel the animation of the 3rd swing into an eviscerate (or any merc skill that isn't slicing winds) at apply expose for the extra damage you need

the timing is kinda tight, but it's easy to get the hang of it once you've learned it

how does boss skipping on hordes of many work?

boss skipping is a side-effect of event processing order, if you deal more damage than the health component initially gets (100 for most enemies/bosses) but before the proper health value is set, the boss defeated event occurs. Immediately afterwards the health component gets set to the proper health value, which is why the mob doesn't end up dying

this all happens on the frame the mob/boss spawns

for horde's of many specifically, on the first frame only one mob is spawned in, so if you skip that one, the rest don't matter

yes, if you try to skip a mob that isn't the first one, you'll end up removing just that one mob's boss status

easiest way to tell which one you need to kill is to just record the start of the event, and frame-by-frame until you see the red dot on the first one that spawns

First stage spawns tons of wisps I have to avoid, first boss is a titan theres only 2 artifacts that I can use focus crystal and crowbar, not like I can speed run the first stage cause monsters spawn fast, 2nd stage spawns stone golems, almost no items I can use, boss is an blazing dune strider, sometimes I have to deal with the stupid blue lunar potion drawback which fucks me up, and after a bit of playing stage two I’m overwhelmed
