on one hand i think that a lot of people are over reacting and mistook suncles's friendly appearance to mean that they are "on ur side!" and stuff
and on the other i think that these are a lot of drastic, intense, sweeping changes to what could be fixed in, like, 30 minutes
i highly doubt that if you just made a new gd-1 that many, if any, people would gallop their way on over to the new gd1 instead of staying in this older (probably renamed) channel that has all of the history. but again maybe there's WAY more to this restructuring than i know of but it seems to just be a few channel changes

I honestly think that less meme spam and shitposting would be healthy since even the more positive experiences I've had in this server were almost immediately followed up by toxic interactions or a conversation topic suddenly turning into something deeply uncomfortable, this server feels unbelievably hostile most of the time

gd1 is being deleted archived cause its not really a place where discussion about the game happens
other than that, apparently other stuff is going on to restructure the server to be more newer-player friendly. it's a smart business choice but depending on the scope of this restructure will depend on my opinion of it
also it's basically gd1 regulars vs the mods every so often, i think everyone's taken shelter to lick their wounds for now and (hopefully) it stays like that for the night

i had a french teacher who would act really nice and really friendly, but some students got too friendly with her and she had to enforce the rules and it was super polarizing. I feel like what's going on here is mostly 1:1 with that experience for me, so honestly I don't really blame suncles as a person.

I do think that some things should DEFINITELY be non-ambiguous tho: the words not allowed to say (especially the discord premium word, which new members might accidentally say, and especially this new b-word fiasco). This isn't even suncle's fault, it's been an issue i've had with this server for awhile, it just feels like gd1 is a minefield and everyone inside of it literally acts like they're one step from blowing it up at all times
