Because being hit with something that literally incapacitates you really sucks, but having a way out via mastering the scrambled controls is handy
You still have control over your character and situation, it’s just unintuitive
The only examples of this I’ve personally interacted with are Rose’s Goatify and Psychedelic Goatify in Plants vs Zombies GW2 (kinda)
Cause being transformed into a Goat disables all of your character abilities, replaces your basic attack with a charging dash, and makes you really small and flighty
It’s not necessarily a “stun” effect in the traditional sense, but it does make you significantly less of a threat for effect’s duration
Psychedelic Goatify is an alternate version of the ability that lasts a shorter amount of time, but scrambles your movement controls a bit so you’re a little easier to hit (because jumping around all over the place is harder to do)
But if you practice with and get the hang of the new movement then it’s not so bad
But this is also the same character with Time Snare which is an AOE Traditional Stun so

- they let you customize the logic for how your controls get changed (if at all)
