I started E33 yesterday and I just beat the first boss. My initial thoughts:
Game is good, to be expected. Nothing has blown me away though. Combat is very clean and fun in most situations. I don’t like flying enemies, not because they are hard but because they just break the flow of the game, forcing you to free aim them instead of anything else. I imagine this will change later on, but still, fighting them ain’t fun. Story is neat. Haven’t gotten far enough into it to really speak on that end. Exploration is alright. Nothing too exceptional, but good nonetheless. I have zero regrets putting it on expert so far, this shit feels good to learn. I barely notice the music during combat, and exploration music just ain’t my vibe tbh. Personally I think it's overrated, but still a game I would recommend so far.

Each enemy will announce what attack they are doing at the start of the animation, so you can mentally prepare

Sometimes it does give a few visual cues! I am playing on Expert so maybe some of them are absent, but some that come to mind are the spear point on some attacks will go from yellow to red the closer the attack is coming, or how a spell some enemies cast creates a lil on-beat mini-game that makes it ridiculously easy to time.

god Kallamar is a love and hate boss for me in Cult of the Lamb

It’s decently difficult considering they jump between rapid movement and melee and arena-wide projectile barrage, but half of the difficulty comes from the simple fact that i cant see shit

between the foreground getting in the way, the small player character, the other enemies being spawned in that jump up and down, meaning not only going in and out of invincibility states but also stretching the goddamn screen, and the visual filter applied on the screen, i cant focus on dishing out and preventing damage at the same time

the best dev decision is that this illegal, evil organization’s gear, again bearing their symbol and everything, is sold by the people who declared them as such

at least they took the symbol off of a few things, replaying me3 again just kinda reminds me despite all the upgrades it brings, it’s still strange work in some other places, not even gonna talk about what the fuck the weapon distribution system even is about across the 3 games

And the damage is affected by vex armor’s dmg boost

And then an augment that makes it so you can swap the energy channeling cost for charging the attack into HP drain so it has a synergy with vex armor hp loss mechanic & negative efficiency builds 😔🙏

ok imagine this right, augments acquisition is reworked, you still keep your old ones of course but now you can acquire them like this:
you buy an augment primer from a faction and use it on a frame, then choose the augment you want
it'd probably be pricier than buying specific augments, however
primers arent faction specific and can be used on any frame that has augments
could also make it so primers give you an extra, augment specific slot that doesnt take up mod space

Arching weapons also come form syndicates so either way your gonna be trading between syndicates

Even if your going for mastery you will have to trade for stuff unless you plan on maxing out every syndicate yourself

Every syndicate has something the others don’t so they will have reason to trade between each other, would take a lot out of the market if they just decide to start taking away a major part of the exclusive rewards with each syncopate
