someone like Caliban can work super well too because of the shield regen his sentinels give him
Nezha and Caliban I'd say are great easy choices for getting into Steel Path, assuming you have either or
both have solid abilities that can apply damage vulnerability, as well as crowd control
or as well using Revenant if you just want easy mode survivability
Mag is also a great choice, because of her 2 giving insane damage and crowd control potential, and 4 for regenerating your shields.
Trinity works as well because she too can regen shields and has tons of damage reduction built into her kit while also being stupidly easy to play
could also just go the route of "cant shoot me if you cant see me" and play any of the invis frames like Loki, Ivara, or Cyte-09
and when it comes to weapons, ones from the Lich/Sister/Coda stuff are definitely a good place to start, but not a requirement either

i played some street fighter before then, actually sf4 was my first fighting game
when i was a kid. also had my dads old snes with sf2
and sprinkled in some street fighter, SOME GG in high school, but only got into fighting games about one year ago

I kinda liked it though? It made me explore the map in places I wouldn't have without the endemic life search
Plus you can grab life on the way
Always grabbed some wigglers when I came out or into the coral highlands camp

Thing is it just doesn’t make me explore the map anymore because I’ve already discovered what’s there, if I don’t really need it at the time then I’m running past it if it isn’t directly in front of me
Especially on the harder hunts where I either don’t know what I’m in for or have struggled with previously, never failed because of the timer but i still dont want it to happen
