I tried a friends snake deck
I used crown of gondor to scale my commander with the amount of creatures I have control over. Xyris summons a 1/1 snake whever an opponent draws 1, so I played wheel of fortune to make everyone discard and draw 7
I proceeded to rip 21 snakes directly out of my ass. I then proceeded to play Three Tree City, tap it for my last 2 and gained over 30 floating mana instantly. Used that to cast a graveyard pull, play wildspeaker and make my 27 snakes 4/4s
It was GGs my commander was about 30/30, was flying, and when he delt damage to an opponent he made me and them draw the amount they were hit for. So he would've just scaled completely out of control if everyone hadn't conceded immediately

I find it quite fun since you always have a idea of what cards your opponent might have but still don’t know all of them since it is different to each person’s play style
Like how a lot of may build a Voltron deck with Boros colors when I come out with a mono green Voltron you never know what to expect
And while you think Voltron would be aggro as usual mine is more defensive with a lot of equipments that help to protect me til I’m able to swift finish off the table with a 40/40 commander with keyword heaven
While others would be going in for early damage and kills

generally shield works as the oneshot protection in high level content, and you gain a longer “osp” buffer at full shields vs partial, which is why people use to use dragon keys to lower their shield and thus have it regen quicker
my advice would be to stay off the floor and move very quickly! and also stay away from hollow veins. what happened there is you stood inside of a hollow vein aoe field, which is a continuous stream of (relatively?) weak magnetic damage, that then broke your shield. then your adaption mod adapted to magnetic damage, which means when you were hit by that culverins blast, you had no protection from it bar armour, which has always been pretty meh haha
if your shield does break, use things like augurs mod, brief respite, or even exploit your operator and go invisible while you wait for your shield to regen 😊
