Oh those were added last year in the Halloween update
They give corrupted shards so you can change certain weapons to corrupted forms
Would recommend getting the corrupted form of a weapon and than just going to get the original again just to have both
Cause it cost a lot to switch between both since you would have to refarm all the shards to make it again and honestly is easier and faster to just get the weapon again

Was playing my some intense magic but here to explain more now
They are called Corrupted, they all have special traits only they can have are spawn randomly in levels
Higher your difficulty higher chance to spawn
They give corrupted shards which 10 of them will give you a corrupted version of one of your weapons which replaces the original
You can turn it back to the original or you can just go get the original again so you have both of the weapons
They introduced this in the Halloween event last year and have improved it to be a more permanent and effective system since before the spawn rate even on max difficulty was little to 0
Now they are a bit more common thankfully
Know their spawn rates do increase a lot more during events

Summoner and Medic is the best combination for tanky healer set up
Can max out your damage reduction and healing with that class combo
And on apocalypse almost unkillable since you heal faster than anything can damage, unless it’s a boss with rage than yea good luck

But up to that point it was too late to restart and do it all again especially after having already killed 3 world boss that could have all one shoted me since I was on my archer dodge build which has 0 armor and all damage
