Fire Giant is mid, but far from the worst. Also every game suffers from early game slog, cause once you've had that feeling of endgame power, taking it away and trying to get it back is an unejoyable feeling to say the least.
The largest flaw I see people complain about the most though is boss reuse, but that seems like an unfair thing to judge the game on. For instance, Sekiro has 47 bosses (I'm assuming most of them are unique), and that game (out of every Fromsoft game) has the second most bosses. Elden Ring tops out with 207 bosses with the DLC, far above any other. Saying that reusing bosses is bad is an unacceptable excuse compared to their previous works, they in fact outshined all that they have done in the past.
