It's about this prince who is deposed at his wedding and he has to travel around this fantasy setting with his mage wife in order to get stronger, and return to reclaimed his kingdom

Combat is actually sorta like a relationship sim

You play as the prince who hacks and slashes and combos enemies and you can call in the princess and she can use god level magic

When they work well together in combat it causes their relationship to go up

It has this weird emphasis on giving your wife a ton of gifts, despite you both being essentially homeless and how tf is she carrying this stuff

You fight other (totally not benders) superpowred individuals and criminals that you come across and develop your own magic etc

It reflects a lot of social problems , because one villain was clearly a snake oil salesmen and and another was a greedy televangelist

I do want to know a little more about the universe, even tho i could not finish the game

On average the combat was more fun than other 2d rpgs like dragon fable

But i didn't understand how to get better gear and after a while i wound up spamming the princess abilities because she was doing significantly more damage with aoe etc

There was also a lot of ancestor worship, sorta like black panther etc. You would meet different people from another powerful family and it's kinda clear the devs were using them as opposing characters to develop the protag

But theres also this cool bit about people getting their magic based on which parts of their ancestry they tap into, that anyone could be brave/ timid etc.

I'm pretty sure the main antagonist was the princes uncle, but over time the player kinda starts to view him as morally gray/ shonen-y than evil

I just wish the combat was slightly more complex, because you could juggle enemies etc, but you couldn't strengthen you own magical attacks

You had this ultra cool charge up falcon punch type attack that would slam and bounce enemies, but but the mana consumption and and strength never changed

Similarly there was a fireball spell you get early onnyou could use to juggle a distant enemy after teleporting, but its sooo so weak that it falls off by the second level

Meanwhile your wife is literally Sypha from the castlevania anime and she's demolishing hordes of mermen n demons n shit

I feel like it could work as some insane couples hack n slash 3d title too

The art was really nice too

I preferred Eastern Exorcist tho
