You never have to change armor or weapons you can beat the whole game with that starter kit
Hunting rifle is one of the best guns in game and the stalker armor set gives a master bonus to guns and weakpoint damage
Repeater pistol does a lot of damage thanks to those buffs so all you really need is just the traits you get from some of the story missions and your solid
Maybe mods but the hunting rifle is strong enough that you don’t really need them
Only point in the run where gear matters is for the dreamer final boss which you need 2 of 3 certain mods that will allow you to cheese the whole fight
True final boss is a whole different story that change be a lot harder or easier depending on if the dlc likes you
