Usually if you're just pressing end turn you're either losing or doing something wrong

Because if you're still going strong there's always something to do

Early game it's expansion vs independent armies

You want to figure out how many dudes you need to send in to take a province without much attrition so that same army can continue moving forward and taking more provinces

Mid game which is like your first war is all about either pressing your advantage as hard as you can or trying to maneuver yourself into getting an advantage by getting research goals or literally maneuvering around enemy lines if geography allows it

Late game is basically End Times from warhammer fantasy

Everyone has access to all the strongest spells, there are dozens of mages in every army

And these armies are basically indestructible unless you have magic to counter whatever they are doing

Or

You have a big guy that's into attack on titan

That can just stand in the middle of a massive army and survive it until they all rout

And that's like, the tip of the iceberg with this game
