it's one less multiplier, but ah well, some day i'll get the dlc

crude flame
#

shaped glass isn’t dlc and it’s 2x damage

brave cedar
#

Idk, they showed the rorr characters instead of the ror og at the end of the Operator character showcase, so maybe

crude flame
#

watch overall is a kinda high mid tier white item, it sounds way better than it is especially if you’re new

quasi topaz
#

crit, atg, crowbar, sticky bomb, bleed, and so on

crude flame
quasi topaz
#

sots is eh, sotv probably the best rn, and ac looks cool rn

#

just wait for a sale

static kindle
#

yeah I mean, i'd just get both tbh at some point

crude flame
#

mileage definitely is based on the player for sots, but in terms of content it’s got lots. ac looks like it’ll be chock full too lol

static kindle
#

15 dollar oof

quasi topaz
#

around late november/most of december there should be a sale

static kindle
#

how you know

crude flame
#

holiday season in the us

quasi topaz
#

steam usually does sales around that time due to holidays

static kindle
#

yeah, seems to cap out at 10 dollars

#

should be good value anyways ig

quasi topaz
#

over 600 hours and I don't regret buying either dlc so it really depends on you

static kindle
#

thank god for regional pricing or i wouldn't have even gotten the game lol

#

but yeah i mean, 10 dollars for 2 dlcs sounds like a good deal

I have a quick question, are executes, like from the corrupted crit glasses, added to the total damage stat you see at the end of the run? Asking because I wanted to know if the damage my friends are that low because the executes don't count towards total damage stat or if they genuinely did that little damage.

glacial knoll
#

execute damage does get added to the damage dealt stat somehow

hoary sedge
#

does it? I thought the numbers from lost seers were just visual

#

since the kill actually comes from the void death effect

lavish jacinth
#

the numbers are visual, but the health of the enemy gets added to your damage total as if you dealt that damage normally

raven python
#

I was messing around with one of the mods that gives thousands of items and I discovered mid run that seekers primary now had near infinite range? What item increases the range on seekers m1’s, if any?

static kindle
#

Does looping infinitely get easier over time

#

since you grow stronger but enemies don't past LVL 99

mellow crystal
full apex
#

The game will spawn stronger enemies, and more elites, so you'll start getting a lot more bosses and stuff with big stat mults from being elite, but after you've got the most expensive enemies as the highest tier elite, the game wont get any tougher. Final bosses have special scaling based on the difficulty coeff though, so even though they arent elite and get level capped, their stats get a bonus multiplier that always scales

mellow crystal
#

If anything it's usually already walking simulator by stage 10

static kindle
#

I'm perma getting elites already

full apex
#

Yea. while the difficulty technically takes a while to max out fully, you scale way faster with items

#

When you insta one shot everything, it kinda doesnt matter what type of enemy it is haha

clear whale
#

The best the game could throw at you is a tier 2 elite scavvy

full apex
#

Yup

clear whale
#

After a while the game director shits itself and stop spawning anything'

mellow crystal
#

Would be evil if there was a loop elite that had a cap on how much damage it could take in one or two seconds

Does needle tick function similar to overloading where it does similar damage to the original hit?

crisp timber

#

Does crit chance effect Acrid's poison damage at all? And is there anyway I can heal using that damage, I tried leeching seed but that doesn't count for most of acrid's damage which was disappointing so is Wungus still best for him?

frosty reef
#

crit doesn't effect poison. and for healing off poison damage E_Super_Massive_Leech is your best bet probably

craggy igloo

white trench
#

Is there already a date for the release of the new dlc?

#

alloyed collective

brave cedar
#

No, only that it comes out this year

pallid mirage
#

All the equipment that gives you the power of the different elites, are they worth keeping

lavish jacinth
pallid mirage
lavish jacinth
#

blazing is best overall because U_Ignition_Tank exists

#

overloading is a pretty good second though, it's basically a slightly weaker behemoth

#

both are basically a 50% damage buff (without ignition tank)

pallid mirage
#

The only thing overloading seems like it doesn't have is synergy with some of the other items

lavish jacinth
#

I mean, it's basically exactly the same as R_BrilliantBehemoth , all of your attacks create an exploding orb on hit that does 50% total damage after a short delay

#

behemoth is 60% so overloading is slightly weaker, but it's still really nice

pallid mirage
#

I like that part about it and the recharging shield but idk if that really matters

lavish jacinth
#

yeah the shield part is whatever

oblique harbor
lavish jacinth
pallid mirage
#

Well I guess I got a free behemoth

oblique harbor
#

But you sacrifice the equipment though.

oblique harbor
lavish jacinth
#

the malachite one only gives you the antiheal effect which is almost completely useless (except on some scavs and kipkip ig), and the spike traps don't do much damage

lavish jacinth
#

you don't get a stat buff from it either

oblique harbor
#

No shield? I though that’s a perk!

lavish jacinth
#

you get the shield, but that isn't really a stat buff

#

it replaces half your health with shield, you don't get any extra health from it

oblique harbor
#

Oh!

lavish jacinth
#

I think they only one that gives a direct stat buff is perfected, which gives +20% move speed iirc. but no buffs to health or damage

oblique harbor
#

Ok thanks!

umbral briar

it’s also why L_Stone_Pauldron is so good on False Son, because your extra health is always scaling with your base health

short bolt
#

For chance Doll I should stack it as much as possible?

lavish jacinth

it doesn't increase rarity the same way shipping req form does, it just adds a flat chance to use a separate loot table with better rarities

short bolt
#

ohh ok

#

Thanks

#

What about sales star?

lavish jacinth
#

it's worth stacking but it does drop off pretty hard after like 3 stacks

short bolt

What’s the best red to stack I keep getting a lot

lavish jacinth

uhhh I think runic lens is pretty good, most reds don't stack super well

usually better to get a bunch of different ones

#

I need a sanity check from y'all.....

#

I've been trying to 100% the logbook for quite some time now and have unlocked everything EXCEPT the env logs for Treeborn Colony and Disturbed impact.. I've probably done 100 or so loops looking for these radio scanners and haven't found them once. The artifacts I have used for these runs are Command, sacrifice, and Swarms. I think I've lost my mind at this point. Can I get some reassurance that there isn't a bug in the game that stops the radio scanners from spawning?

#

I have also noticed that looping through the new green portal stages, I get Golden Dieback ~78% of the time over Treeborn colony (rough math)

trim lynx
#

there is a bug preventing logs for treeborn, but not for disturbed

fleet junco
#

Ok... I've got over a thousand hours in the game, probably 200-300 or so since seekers of the storm, and I haven't seen the disturbed impact radio scanner once. I might submit a bug report because that seems very improbable

in practice they're more of a defense/utility item than a damage item, just like U_SquidPolyp

It can spawn there, but the sots stage 2s' radio scanner are blocked from spawning if you already have the amphelian santuary log.
The same could still be happening with disturbed impact (albeit with different maps or something else altogether) even though they said they fixed it 3 months ago.
searching disturbed impact in this discord shows a bunch of people still have issue with it after they said they patched it too

soft phoenix
#

I'm really confused on how hard this game is, I played a lot of it, but I've been finding the game harder and harder as time goes on, rainstorm used to be okay and now I keep dying at stage 2, everything seems to do so much damage, I'm not sure what I can do to get better

#

anyone have any tips?

lavish jacinth
#

make sure you're full-looting every stage as efficiently as you can

#

don't rush straight to the teleporter

soft phoenix
#

I'm trying to i have stagerecap and I'm only missing a chest occasionally

#

maybe I'm taking a little too long per stage?

#

was using the one item per minute rule but maybe I should go back to trying to cap out at 5 mins a stage

lavish jacinth
#

a good rule of thumb is to leave stages with more items than minutes

steady stone
#

Try not to play in the same way, you may have latched on to a strategy that worked once but doesn't normally while learning, being random every time

lavish jacinth
soft phoenix
#

mkay ill stick to an item per minute

lavish jacinth
#

it's also okay to spend time on stuff like printers and scrappers, the timer really isn't that strict, even on monsoon. As long as you're spending time on stuff that'll make you stronger overall

frosty reef
#

Even 1 item per minute is whatever, you're not gonna keep track of how many items you get. Just get everything and over time you'll do it more efficiently. I'd look to your target priority and movement as the primary reason you're having a difficult time

lavish jacinth
#

yeah, that's another thing

#

learning how to prioritize and deal with enemies is a big part of the learning curve

soft phoenix
soft phoenix
lavish jacinth
#

for me target priority is basically in order of "how likely is it that this enemy will hit me, and if it does hit me, how much damage will it deal"

soft phoenix
#

movement maybe is an issue

lavish jacinth
#

could be

#

you wanna be strafing and jumping a lot, ideally circlestrafing around enemies

#

most enemies have terrible aim and won't hit you as long as you're moving perpendicular to where they're aiming

#

and they have limited turn speed, so if you get up close it's really easy to get behind them

soft phoenix
#

I do know about how things will work like with lasers and how much I need to move to avoid them

#

right yeah I will keep moving in a circle as a main factor to concentrate on thank you

lavish jacinth
#

ye

soft phoenix
#

I think I was doing that some of the time but maybe not as much as I should be

frosty reef
#

Also disputed origin's eclipse guide is a good source for playing the game better if you wanna check it out

soft phoenix
#

will search it up thank you

lavish jacinth
#

oh yeah, and it's good to practice dodging without relying on a mobility skill

#

sprinting, strafing and jumping will get you pretty far, and then you can save your movement skills for when you really need them

#

they really can't hit shit as long as you're not standing still or running straight at them lol

frosty quail
#

Is there a boss cap for teleporters?

crisp timber
#

I mean at some point, the teleporter will spawn elite bosses instead of normal bosses

lavish jacinth
rigid yacht
lavish jacinth

it's a lot of damage for stage 4 but not impossible

rigid yacht
lavish jacinth
#

was he stacking L_ShapedGlass ?

#

bandit can do a lot of damage but it's hard to know for sure without seeing all of his items

left forge
#

And varied damage items like C_Crowbar C_ArmorPiercingRounds and C_Delicate_Watch ?

lavish jacinth
#

(I think there's also some jank in multiplayer where damage from other players gets attributed to the wrong person, but I'm not sure about that)

lavish jacinth
#

it would also be fairly obvious if he were cheating because he'd probably be oneshotting everything with that kind of damage

rigid yacht
#

just 2 C_Crowbar and 3 C_ArmorPiercingRounds

lavish jacinth
#

those were his only damage items?

rigid yacht
#

(with me)

lavish jacinth
#

well, was he actually oneshotting every enemy or did it seem like he was doing normal amounts of damage when you were playing?

#

because if he was dealing normal damage then it's probably just a bug with the stats screen or something

rigid yacht
#

sometimes he oneshot mob with 1M damage and as soon as I died, it went back to normal

lavish jacinth
#

huh

#

well if he's cheating, then that's a weird way of doing it, lol

#

and it stopped happening AFTER you died?

rigid yacht
lavish jacinth
#

ok, I have absolutely no idea then lol

#

that's definitely not normal but I don't know what would cause it

#

I wouldn't even say for certain that they're cheating

marble osprey
rigid yacht

(bow girl)

lavish jacinth
#

don't worry, we know the characters names, lol

marble osprey
#

From the max damage inflicted stat it looks like they dealt 1/6 of that total damage in a single hit, so maybe they just had several proc items and just had a couple instances of good luck with a proc chain going super long and so the final hit just did crazy damage? Like an ice band proc off a churf hit procced off an atg or something like that?

crisp timber
#

Even if you consider that, 12 million is still a lot of damage for stage 4

crisp timber
#

Yeah I was subtracting a couple mill for the large hit

#

Kinda just defaulted to 16 and 4

lavish jacinth

17 million is the kind of damage you normally don't see unless you're looping

is alt loader grapple a direct upgrade or does it have another downside other then "pull small enemies to you" (which can be either a upside or downside)

looping is kinda boring because it gets easier and easier from how many items you get

there are some looping achievements thoug,,,,

yeah I try

jaunty furnace

you dont need to worry too much about time because items scale you faster more than "time" scales enemies

harsh ingot
#

how do i protect myself from getting 1 shot in later stages of the game

#

its like i blink once and boom im dead

lavish jacinth
harsh ingot
#

yeah but sometimes movement is not enough i feel like

lavish jacinth
#

If you have enough movement speed then it should be

#

Most enemy attacks can be dodged even with base speed, and anything that can't can be avoided in other ways

harsh ingot
#

so there is no item or strat or synergy that helps

crisp timber
#

The items that help are movement
The strat that helps is running in circles

lavish jacinth
#

I mean, speed items and damage, there's nothing specific that magically makes late stages easier

harsh ingot
#

i feel like you guys are trolling me

lavish jacinth
#

Circlestrafing, learning enemy attack cues and knowing which enemies to stay away from will get you far

crisp timber
#

Items like Opal or Safer Spaces will be able to protect you from taking huge chunks, but that’s on a cooldown and won’t be able to support you if you don’t dodge regularly

lavish jacinth
jaunty furnace
harsh ingot
#

Alright then

#

I appreciate you guys thanks

lavish jacinth
#

People regularly win itemless runs in this game, it CAN be done. It really is just skill, game knowledge and practice

frosty reef
jaunty furnace
#

defense items are also important (like V_Safer_SpacesC_Oddly_Shaped_OpalC_RepulsionArmorPlate U_RoseBuckler )

lavish jacinth
#

Rose buckler my beloved

crisp timber

Defense items are like force multipliers. They get better the less often you get hit

lavish jacinth

Repulsion plate does fall off in later stages though

lavish jacinth

There's no tanking damage in ror2, at least not without a command build specifically dedicated to it

wispy rover

if i get enough teddies like 10 does that negate all the damage i get?

wispy rover
#

is this my first "risk of rain" moment

#

damn

harsh ingot
crisp timber
#

Nope. It’s logarithmic scaling

#

So it’ll approach 100%, but won’t ever actually hit 100%

lavish jacinth
#

I think technically it can, but it takes like millions of stacks

#

Eventually the chance increase is so small that the game has to round up to 100%

harsh ingot
#

oh i thought you just get what the first one gives of chance added up

#

how do you know which ones are logarithmic and which arent

#

i dont even know what that means

lavish jacinth
#

That'd be kinda broken lol, 7 stacks of a common item and you win

lavish jacinth
crisp timber
#

Err yep oop. Hyperbolic, not logarithmic

lavish jacinth

(If you do wanna be nearly invincible though, 65 stacks of safer spaces gives it a 1-frame cooldown)

it has more content and new mechanics that directly affect normal gameplay

#

A good chunk of the SotS content is tied to the alternate stage path and final boss that it adds

#

which isn't bad, but it feels more like adding a big sidequest to the game rather than adding content to the base game

but SotS also has more fun survivors and a MUCH better final boss (imo)

yeah i do that too, its probably the item overlap part

who should i play then? he usually runs railgunner, chef, false son, seeker, or captain

rn hes running railgunner

lavish jacinth
#

if he tends to run bursty characters then someone more proc-focused would be a good choice, like commando, mul-t or engineer

Engineer in particular is always a solid choice in multiplayer, he synergizes with a lot of garbage items that other characters don't care about and bungus turrets are an easy way to heal teammates

turbid whale

ill run engineer then :D

ideally, you just stack aurelionites by trying to hit gilded coast as much as possible

apart from that, you just try to minimize the number of proc items you bring with you into the fight and load up on debuffs to help aurelionite actually get what is ideally the last 5-10%

bitter juniper

Not having it forces you to learn how to utilize every item instead of just relying on a perfect build every time

Make sure you're full-clearing stages and not rushing, that makes a huge difference. Items are how you get stronger

For me target priority is "how likely is it that this enemy will hit me, and if they do, how much damage will it deal"

also, if youre looking for other void whites (which you should, safer spaces is crazy), then you may consider leaving it on the ground for a bit to see if theres a E_Recycler on the stage

you can also use it to survive vields for a pretty good amount of time

overall pretty good healing item

harsh ingot

kindred dragon
#

does enabling mountain shrine increase chance of spawning imp overlord in stage 3?

lavish jacinth
#

stage 3 never has mountain shrines

kindred dragon
#

oh right lol

lavish jacinth
#

but even if it did, mountain shrines don't usually affect the type of boss that spawns, it just gives the director more credits when spawning a boss, I think. And iirc imp overlords cost about the same as the other stage 3-4 bosses

oh

just random chance to spawn imp

lavish jacinth

lavish jacinth

like, if you're on stage 10+ you can pretty much start the tp right away and get enough to buy out the whole stage afterwards, but on early stages it's better to buy as much as you can before starting the teleporter and only leave stuff that's near the tp

lavish jacinth

That's for sure

patent blade
# lavish jacinth wat

On earlier stages it's harder to fight bosses without having to buy items first, assuming you even get items that goes with synergizes with your character, thus also making it harder to power through the 2 stages before delta

lavish jacinth

unless you're going for the unlock

patent blade
lavish jacinth

jaunty furnace
# native prairie do people usually scrap rusty keys? I often dont find the chest

theres a bunch of macro strats to be done here

  • consider keeping your keys so that you can turn them into multiple void keys, void items are very powerful
  • be mindful of how many stages you have left, having like 3 keys on the moon is pretty wasteful because youre only gonna be able to open 1. sometimes youre just gonna get a stupid amount of keys too late into the run with no scrapper in sight, but if you have the keys earlier in the run then count how many stages you have left and open your keys accordingly
  • this doesnt apply to you yet because you dont have dlc2, but if you didnt find void keys then consider keeping a key for moon so that you can use sale star on it

lavish jacinth

Collapse deals 400% base damage per stack and all the stacks go off at once

#

it does look like a low amount of items for almost an hour

#

tho some 4 stacks so maybe average

jaunty furnace
#

as ive said before, becoming stronger is more important than the clock

lavish jacinth
#

It's a shame the items collected stat is barely helpful lol

jaunty furnace
#

scaling isnt even linear, proceeding to the next stage affects scaling more than staying still a couple minutes

#

ill link a section of a video hold on

smoky karma
lavish jacinth
#

You should still try to be efficient, just don't leave items behind for the sake of going faster

thick garden
#

I finally got to mithrix and he one-shotted me is that normal or did I just lacked defensive items ?

lavish jacinth
#

That's normal, he hits like a truck

#

His attacks are pretty predictable though

thick garden
#

he teleported and attacked kinda quickly

#

it was surprising compared to the usual bosses

#

any tips ?

frosty reef
#

Yeah most tp bosses are barely "boss" worthy enemies

lavish jacinth
thick garden
#

thanks

#

damn it seems like it will take a lot of tries

lavish jacinth
#

Maybe, maybe not

#

I think its possible to learn the fight pretty quickly, and you can always just hang out on the ramps and poke him to death until you're confident in fighting him directly

thick garden
#

yeah

#

kinda feels like cheating tho

#

but ig there is no point in doing 30 tries to beat him once

lavish jacinth
frosty reef
#

Best way to get better at the game is to learn from every death, there will always be something you can do to avoid it. 30 failed tries are nothing but 30 lessons learned

lavish jacinth
#

But seriously, you SHOULD take advantage of the ramps, especially if you don't have good mobility. Even if you don't cheese the whole fight with them, it's really useful to have a safe spot to heal or avoid his attacks

native prairie
#

Do the interactbles where you get a choice between items not always shut when you pick one? just happaned to me

lavish jacinth
#

Do you have E_Executive_Card ?

native prairie
#

thank, thought it was a random chance or something

thick garden
onyx furnace
#

when you learn what his attacks are it gets easy to fight him up close, but that takes practice

thick garden
#

yeah

native prairie
#

Finally got a win

lavish jacinth
#

nice!

native prairie
#

my build also allowed me to just run around and do damage so that helped

#

I had like 5 of that item that gives you armor when you sprint too

uneven sinew
#

Me and my friends keep losing runs in multiplayer because the lobby crashes, it's not that the host's connection dies, but after a while we all get disconnected from each other, is there something we can do to prevent this?

lavish jacinth
uneven sinew
#

Yeah we're all on steam

lavish jacinth
#

crossplay is completely useless and extremely glitchy, and losing connection after like 30-40 minutes is one of the most common problems with it

uneven sinew
#

Oh got it

#

It's just epic and steam crossplay right?

lavish jacinth
#

yeah

uneven sinew
#

Ok ty

bitter juniper
#

can someone tell me how to get loaders skin for beating the game/ defeating the moonsoon

#

i just rolled creds, maybe i need to do it on a higher difficulty??

lavish jacinth
#

doesn't matter which ending you get

bitter juniper
#

oh and i didnt get how i get mercenary

lavish jacinth
#

just loop and make it to stage 8, there's a celestial portal that appears on the 3rd map of every loop

#

go through it and it'll be pretty self-explanatory from there

bitter juniper
#

alright, to loop i just need to go to the artifact thing right? is there another easier way to loop(i mean that one is pretty easyu)

lavish jacinth
#

yeah, all you have to do is interact with the prong things around the edge of the teleporter before activating it to change the destination

#

or you can leave through any other portal besides the main teleporter

#

just remember to do it BEFORE activating it, it's locked in once it starts charging

bitter juniper
#

i am actually so confused

#

what do the prong thingies do??

#

im really sorry for bothering

lavish jacinth
#

it's fine, it's what the channel is for lol

#

they change where the teleporter takes you

bitter juniper
#

ohh

lavish jacinth
#

by default you'll go to the moon and fight mithrix

#

but if you realign them, they'll make you loop instead

#

there'll be a message in chat telling you where they're aligned

bitter juniper
#

oh sick

#

so just loop and i get mercenary?

lavish jacinth
#

yep, and take the celestial portal that appears on stage 8

bitter juniper
#

yeah that too, is there anything i should know that will be challenging in stage 8, idfk what stage 7 even is so im kinda worried

lavish jacinth
#

new types of elites and a handful of lategame enemies, most notably scavengers

bitter juniper
#

well loader can deal with anything... right?

lavish jacinth
#

just watch out for the spike traps that malachite elites drop, be careful about blindly punching through crowds when they're around

bitter juniper
#

maybe i can try punching upwards or with an angle upwards to avoid them or something

lavish jacinth
#

and it's good to check what scavengers are carrying before you decide to fight them, they spawn with a random assortment of items which are displayed on their body

#

they're not super dangerous most of the time, but you can get screwed over if they get something like E_PrimordialCube E_Preon

#

and they can throw orange blobs that proc on-kill effects, so C_Gasoline WilloWisp are pretty dangerous

#

Thankfully they can't get R_CeremonialDagger

#

...at least, not anymore

patent blade
#

Wait what the fuck

#

I didnt know you could change the portal destination LMAO

#

Thanks Mr fax machine 👍🏾

bitter juniper
#

what is a primordial dagger....

patent blade
bitter juniper
patent blade
bitter juniper
#

oh no

peak holly
#

Can still get R_NkuhanasOpinion though

lavish jacinth
#

scavs were able to get them when they were first added, and it was basically instant death

#

scavengers are also the reason why E_RoyalCapacitor has a short delay before it fires lol

patent blade
peak holly
#

Healing 10% of your max health fires off homing skulls to nearby enemies

#

If a scav hits you with it you fall over

lavish jacinth
#

yeah, but it's not as bad at least, you just have to remember to keep your distance if they have a way to heal

patent blade
#

Mired urn scavs when?

lavish jacinth
#

I think red items are always positioned somewhere on their gun, so it's pretty easy to tell what they have. And equipment is always over their left shoulder

peak holly
#

Most of the worst items are blacklisted

#

Like R_UnstableTesla U_Razorwire and R_CeremonialDagger

#

R_Spare_Drone_Parts too I think

lavish jacinth
#

yeah

patent blade
lavish jacinth
#

U_Shuriken can be pretty nasty though

lavish jacinth
#

except reds

patent blade
#

Yikes tri tip scavs

peak holly
#

They stack them through getting the same red twice

#

But that’s rare

#

And it usually doesn’t make a big difference since reds don’t stack great in general

lavish jacinth
#

I think they get 5 stacks at a time for white items, 2 or greens, and 1 for reds, same as void fields

peak holly
#

3 for greens I believe

lavish jacinth
#

on the bright side, they have the second-lowest base damage in the the game next to lesser wisps, and their AI is less aggressive than normal monsters
