TY, but rn im just using loader to speed through stuff for logs, gonna reset once i search this stage
ive been seeing in runs these blue things with spikes around them, and i offer a lunar coin to them and it says a blue orb appears, what does it mean? ive never noticed anything happen when i do it.
Newt altar, if activated before the telelorter event will allow a blue portal to spawn once the event has been completed. This is how you enter the bazaar
oh
ive been there once in a multiplayer run and i didn't know how so there will just be a blue portal near the teleporter once i start it up and i can enter it?
it appears after you complete the tp event but yeah
anyone on?
Nope. we're all dead
having a problem, cant figure out how to connect with a ps5 user, im on pc?
You can't, crossplay is between epic and steam
the hell? the website says it supports full crossplay even lists pc players as able to play with console players
Anyone got tips for beating the game with the false son on monsoon?
The website?
sec looking for the page i was reading on it
What are you struggling with, specifically? There's a ton of possible tips, but it's kinda hard to determine what you might already know or not know
PlayStation 4/5: The game can be played on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, enabling cross-platform play with other consoles and PC users.
specifically says pc cant play with mobile
ror2 mobile rofl
but specifically say ps users can play with pc users
ror2 isnt actually on mobile, so i dont know where you got that
it would blow up your phone
What is this
this website has lied to you
yeah that's just like, wrong, its probably an ai generated article tbh
This is categorically untrue, ai slop
reddit normally has good answers for that stuff, if you google whether a game is crossplay
wow we all bought it thinking we could play together
Dead internet strikes again
indeed, well guues we getting 4 refunds ty google><
I mean for the future, I'd just check the official steam page
steam should let you refund with no questions, but best of luck with the console!
If you don't see this, there's no crossplay
thanks
holy ai generated
that's crazy
"Particularly with its multicultural cast of characters"
Is there an enemy cap/limit? if so is it different when spawning elite enemies?
I just don't know what items pare well with the false son im now getting the hang of after not likeing him that much for a while and because I just got annihilated by a clay dunestrider
Sorry if this kinda makes no sense
So movement and damage are always good. But in addition to that, basically anything that increases his max HP grants you growth, so you’re looking at Bison steaks, infusion, prayer beads, stone flux pauron, growth nectar.
Also for false son specifically, luminous shot is probably your best green, since you can easily enable it with spikes and the slam lets it scale incredibly well.
Those categories can sometimes be outdated though.
Its manually set by the developers I think.
It is. Epic and steam are two different platforms
It's misleading but it's not a lie
Op, nevermind
I misread
hey is gearbox ever gonna fix the bug with recycler not working within 20 feet in multiplayer
I've neve had that bug
Gearbox Feet Level
Gearbox Feet Level
hi what is the best biuld for cheff ? or some good items on him
chef is a proc character so any on-hit effects are going to be good, I don't think there's anything that's super specific to him other than maybe
if you're using sear and
since he has a lot of built-in debuffs
oke oke thx : D
REX is one of my top 4 favorite survivors, why do most people not like him?
(the other 3 being engi, cap, and bandit)
no mobility
He actually has great mobility, it jsut takes skill to us e his utility properly
He has a different style of play and slightly higher skill floor compared to other survivors
So the same reasons people dislike merc and arti
actually more like OK mobility, but better than engi and cap
Well arti is one of my least favorite
Merc is ok though
arti is the worst survivor in both games (ror2 and ror returns)
In 2025 </3
obliterate this man
his playstyle is pretty different and he has a gimmick that ends up working against him more often than not, especially now that we have so many items that reward not getting hit
people hates on the one who speaks the truth
or perhaps you're the one who's wrong
well idk i just find arti skills are underwhelming for me
especially in ror returns
I heard her being the worst in Returns but definitely not the worst in 2
never really comes up as a contender
I don't remember her being that bad in returns but I haven't touched it in over a year
Returns arti is more just jank to play iirc
Like pre-p3 false son
last played; 18 months ago
especially that stupid sun thing
but yeah that's kinda how I remember it, her kit was weird to use but I think technically good
although I remember some jank with her primary doing way less damage than it was supposed to or something
Nearly. Huntress is worse.
In Rorr tho? Yeah
Generally feels bad to play for a lot of people. Personally I feel like his hitbox is too big, his base movement is too slow, eclipse makes his kit a lot worse to play(unless you're crazy), and the sound that plays when you jump while sprinting gets annoying really fast.
rex's sound design sucks in general ngl
listening to his primary for an hour makes me wanna mute the game lol
His base movement is identical to other survivors
Ik its identical but it feels slower yk
Maybe its just because hes bigger than most survivors
Yeah I think he's as tall as commando without the plant
Or taller actually
I think hes about the same general size as mul-t
I agree, I just really like his playstyle; he's very unique
im having a bug where using the yes chef version of ice box isnt getting rid of yes chef
it lets me use it for ice box and then again for free. does anyone know whats causing this?
yeah, that's a known bug
is there a fix? i havent had this happen to me before
there are probably mods to fix it, but otherwise no
Just use ice box and then any other ability, you basically get 2 yes chef abilities with it, if you dont want to abuse the bug switch over to sear or use another ability away fron enemies
The mod's chef tweaks, makes chef playable with high attack speed without hurting you finger too
is harvester scythe on viend a viable item or I should just scrap it?
scrap
alr
nah, scythe is decent on him
the 2% corruption that he gains from a crit will outweigh the small amount lost from scythes' flat healing, so long as you don't stack a bunch of them
so it's a decent way to heal while in corrupt form
noted , thanks
Seeker looks sick!! Is she a DLC character? Or can I get her base game
So far, the coolest characters I've seen are DLC and I'm like "nooooooo"
Seeker is in the Seekers of the Storm DLC
nooooooo

SOTS:

thanks
oh, btw, what survivor gives "fantasy caster" other than artificer? Didn't really vibe with her
not-dlc, that is
kinda gives fantasy, but is hard to play as
Not many others give magic, though
There's a good amount of magic modded characters, though
i need to get more people, still, only have like, 5 people unlocked
But thanks
Yeah, it's good to complete the game first, but might give some more playtime after
oh, alr did it a couple of times, or do you mean a different ending?
100%ing it, it's very fun
That's the goal
Played like, 6 or so matches and alr at 48%
shouldn't take longer than a week, I hope
is crit goggles good on bandit? I know he already has guarenteed crits from the back but the goggles could give him crits from any direction, also does fire rate affect his load speeds?
crit goggles do have a use especially on his revolver from the front, but may prove less useful than normal and you might have a time where you want to scrap and print something else
as for fire rate, yeah, attack speed scales his reload
are there any really good items I should be on the look out for? I imagine that crowbar is good because he has such a high base damage
crowbar is good with his revolver, but his shotgun will find less value
in general he's pretty good with proc, since his primary hits rapidly and pretty hard, and the revolver can hit really rapidly or insanely hard depending on which one
I have achieved my goal thank you for the help and i not understand the power that luminous shot holds
2 questions, can damage over time crit and if so can harvesting sythe still heal?
is lunar stakes good
or at least some what good, even if its only decent ill still play with it
stakes are arguably a bit better than spikes since you can get 3 ruin per stake
okok very good thank you
What’s should I be doing in monsoon
I stand around boxes until I get enough coins for it then go around and do the boss for every stage
But I keep losing my runs
full looting & prioritising dmg & mobility items over dmg mitigation/healing, focus on dodging dangerous hits, try to build around your survivor's kit ... they are fairly general tips that can be applied in places other than monsoon
no. debuffs do not crit
What should I be doing for commando for example?
leaning into on-hit procs mainly (bleeds/other base dmg procs too), he gets a lot of value from a majority of items
not really crowbar, none of commando's attacks deal too much dmg so he gets more value from other dmg multipliers
etc
Ohhh ok
"proc items" moreso refer to

etc
So I wanna get those and if I see a 3d printer I should get those
to some extent yes, atg & sticky stack the best of those & you do not really need more than 1 uke or meathook
but procs are much stronger if you diversify them so do not go all into a single proc printer
So my strategy of just farming by boxes is good?
Doing God's work
the closest youll get to "magic"
seeker using soul heretic using whatever the fuck she uses void fiend using magical void piss blasts tm and false son having lightning
so basically, either DLCs that i don't have or finding heretic mid game
hm
Pay to use magic
Tbf if you don't dislike artificer she's even got a mage skin
do drones' microbots also gain faster recharge speed from cap's attack speed stacking? or only cap's microbot?
afaik it's only cap's microbot, but drone microbots will be affected by anything that buffs the attack speed of drones, like

by that point your survivor hardly matters since your items are going to be doing like 99% of the work
ig someone with good proc rates like commando would be good since proc items are so powerful lategame, but it's really just whoever you want
oke oke i went with cheff 😄
How often do you guys get god runs
Maybe 1 in 10. Most of the time they're average
Feel like it'll never happen again
Nah, you'll get another one
the fact that they don't happen often is what makes them a god run
It felt good making my game freeze and lag at times
I guess that what makes them special also what does the leaf clover do
I've never gotten it before
+1 luck, it increases the odds of most chance-based items activating
Is there a certain percent or just guaranteed
specifically, failed RNG rolls get re-rolled +1 time, so like
would effectively have two 10% chances instead of one
It's a reroll
Basically if every %-based effect is a dice roll, each point of luck gives you another dice, and you pick the highest number out of those dice
It'll never make something guaranteed but it will increase the chance
And for negative luck from
you instead pick the lowest
Also, merely grammar but die is the singular
True but the average person probably won't know that so dice is easier to use
¯_(ツ)_/¯
So it just gambling except you have a higher chance of winning
kinda yeah
You literally get another chance to succeed per clover
it doesn't directly affect the chance of winning
but you get more chances to win
(the exact way that it works isn't super important though, functionally it does just make random procs more likely)
OHHHHH I get it
Yeah, the math is very math. The important info is that it gives better odds
And is a good item
one of the best reds
Can't wait to try it out
if you do wanna know the math tho, the wiki has all of it https://riskofrain2.wiki.gg/wiki/57_Leaf_Clover
The 57 Leaf Clover is an item in Risk of Rain 2.
The Clover makes random beneficial effects more likely to occur for the holder, and as such is the counterpart to the Purity (which makes beneficial effects less likely to occur). It affects all random effects except Tougher Times.
If a successful proc is not achieved on a roll, it will be roll...
Oh yeah Ben's raincoat is amazing
....nah....
I like it but I know it's one of the not good reds
Well on paper it sounds good, not red item good but good
It not blocking freeze is absolutely dumb
Since freeze is a status effect and not a debuff
it also doesn't do anything to mitigate damage (other than the useless 10% barrier, I guess), it JUST removes a single debuff
Wow that's ass
It could really use a glowup
blocks damage AND prevents debuffs, and is a lot more common to get. Braincoat's only advantage is a shorter base cooldown
What'd be nice is if it blocked debuffs for like a couple seconds before going on cd
something like that, yeah
Kind of like the scarf from returns
Maybe a bit more barrier
15 or 20
%
Not sure how we'd stack it like that, though
Without it being super strong
Maybe make the cd 10s and additional reduces that by a %
I think that would make it playable
or longer duration but CD stays the same, like how stealthkit used to be
actually wait, did pre-rework stealthkit have a cooldown? I don't even remember loll
Yeah, but I think I'd rather get it sooner for more barrier again
It did not have a cd
Only a chance that increased the less health you had
while we're at it, can we bring back OG stealthkit
I think clover actually affected that too, lol
I was just about to post that screen too lol
Eh, I like it's current form. It just needs to trigger instead of waiting until everything else to trigger
Like, if an elixir triggers, you should also get the stealthkit
yeah, giving it the lowest priority of the low-health items was just adding insult to injury
Same either gloop
at least gloop is above elixir
I know for a fact that it did, I made a feedback report about it when sotv came out. I'm preeetty sure it still does but maybe something changed with the transmitter rework
Fair enough
either way I miss old stealthkit
it had synergy with out-of-danger items which was cool, and it actually activated often enough to feel useful
oh and rex synergy
Is there gonna be a switch 2 version?
first time playing chef post-update, is his M2 just a normal ranged attack now? I was shocked I hit a Vagrant with it from the ground
You throw the cleaver and it auto comes back
Still a range you need to be at but it feels a lot better
m2 as in sear
Sear, I mean. cleaver def feels better tho
and yeah sear has quite the range on it now
Yeah sear range is really far
damn, they really did a 180 with our cooking boi
The extra-threatening message of "the primordial teleporter aligns with the moon" appears when I enter the 4th area (which usually doesn't matter because I get insta killed by one of those bronze guys if I stand still for more than a second), but I would like to know, does that mean I have to do anything special to find this primordial teleporter, or does it spawn randomly as usual?
There was a rather large chasm in the center of the map which I didn't bother going down, instead opting to search the high cliffs, where I found no teleporter. But if the teleporter aligns with the moon, why would it be underground?
the primordial teleporter isn't special, it just replaces the normal teleporter on that map.
It does have the unique ability to be realigned to either the moon (default) or to the planet, which will determine whether you go to the final boss or loop when using it
Spoilers
it can be a little annoying to find since the map is so big, and it emits blue particles instead of the usual orange ones (there's a setting to make the particles easier to see though)
it's under that umbrella settings thing on the first page
also assuming you're talking about sky meadows, none of it is really underground, tbf. The "underground" area does have something important in it though
I assume the umbrella settings don't affect achievements or anything?
nah, they're just QoL
It's a hole, it's under a lot of ground, what else would it be
I mean the whole map is way up in the sky, so...
I'll check it out next time I slog back there though, thank you
Another thing, does item rarity increase as you play runs?
nope
Because I found 2 red items in my most recent one, and I've never seen red ones before
That's not exactly true I found happiest mask once
that's just luck then
reds have a 1% chance to spawn from small chests and a 20% chance from large chests and rusted lockboxes
Also I found Big Gun Drone, who was a big help
there's also always a guaranteed red item ||on stage 4, either in a legendary chest that spawns in pre-set spots on Abyssal Depths/Sundered Grove or by beating the secret boss on Siren's Call||
I will neglect to read that, for fear of cheapening my game experience
Also, blast shower seems terrible
Unless there's some enemy I haven't yet encountered that causes extreme disease
it's very niche, there are a few enemies with nasty debuffs (mostly lategame or in the DLC stuff)
but one cool thing about it is that it can also remove the cooldown on certain items
if an item has an internal cooldown that appears on your healthbar as a debuff, blast shower will be able to reset it instantly
there's one specific set of items it's really good with but idk if you want that spoiled either lol
I do not
My favorite aspect of the game so far is certainly that a ukulele is perhaps the best item in the game
but yeah, outside of very specific builds with those items, blast shower is kinda mid compared to most equipment
I don't know why I'm wasting time being verbose
From personal experience gasoline is the solution to all problems (mostly joke but it makes things really easy early and mid game)
I do love gasoline, especially with ukulele. Most "on kill" items are massively buffed by the uke.
Oooh so you love on kill items?
Then you will love
builds are so insanely broken if you can get the right items

I prefer e8
Fair
I like doing
when I want to goof off with stupid build ideas
Squid polyp build
I only do
when I wanna get achievements or unlocks
That too
Add in
literally exists for that build
Could also add in
for the fireworks
the best thing about doing polyp builds is that they show how hard polyp gets slept on as an item
Love polyps when they work
Ye
Only gotten them to work on the final boss when reviving drones (polyps get nuked on spawn)
if you mostly play e8 then they're not as good yeh
What survivor tho? Engi?
They feel good throughout a run otherwise
I've honestly never played
even for stuff like that or unlocks just because monsoon sac n swarm is basically the same thing but stage 1 and 2 aren't a bore
Command makes any difficulty easy
if you wanna do the ultimate polyp build

use diablo strike to kill your own polyps, get ghost polyps, use bungus to keep them alive
to make ghosts easier to get
Which reminds me i have to keep trying at the maao run
Unless your mercenary.
Shurikens and skill issue
skill issue.. 😔
that sounds like a skill issue ngl
Oh my god even fucking fax agrees with it 😭
I don't normally like giving "skill issue" as a response but sometimes that is the answer lol
???
Omfg
oh right, the server bots hate steam links lol
Yeah agreed, it's just funny watching you of all people say it
Dyno the silencer
I was just trying to link Fade's merc guide lmao, it's literally in the pins already
Does said merc guide include whirlwind cancelling
Talking about this?
yeah
FUCK YEAH
will my shield regenrate if i get damaged but only in my barrier?
or does it count as being in danger?
Counts as being in danger
does cautios slug disrupt viend's corruption meter?
no
thanks
Give me the most important bit of information that'll go a long way for ror2
always full-loot stages, be efficient but don't rush
ig that's more advice than information but whatever, it's still probably the most important thing to know
Thing is it's hard not to rush cause I don't want to be super out leveled but I guess by the time you're on the last level the difficulty is either maxed out or about to be
items will make you stronger faster than the timer can make you weaker, and you'll never outrun the timer no matter how fast you go
so full-clearing is overall the best strategy
also, difficulty scales with stage count as well as time, so you really do wanna make the most of each stage.
Full looting and getting at least one item per minute is a pretty good rule of thumb but not a hard requirement, it's fine to spend time on stuff like printers
learning stage layouts also helps a lot so that you can explore quickly, ideally you want to route it so that you check the whole stage without much backtracking and end up at the teleporter
Thank you and this will be a game changer for me instead of just rushing and missing items all the time
what was the requirement to get Cap?
Beat the game
Specifically by leaving on fhe escape shuttle on the moon
Yeah
Yeah pillars
||whats the diff between a beam and a pillar?||
The pillars make beams so you can see where they are
Yeah, beams are emitted by pillars yet to be completed
To make them easier to spot at a distance
Yeah but if you can find a way up the tree you can get into the arena without having to do it
A good portion of the characters have innate pillar skips if you really dont want to do pillars
nono, like, the difference bewteen the thing beam and the thing pillar
not in-game, but like, the object that supports a house
Oh a beam is across pillars are up and down
Does Artificer's primary still have stutter in multiplayer, it's rubber banding behind my character before firing out, not sure if this is a connection thing or not since everything else seems fine
that's just standard projectile lag due to ping i'm p sure
Ahh okay
guys, wtf does the BEADS OF FAITH do?
is it related to that obelisc that obliterates you?
yup
obliterate there and see what happens
assuming you're talking about
if it's the green ones, those are different
what items should i be stacking on chef? running ice box and yes chef
Hello, I unlocked Captain, Loader, Engineer and artificer, which one of them would you consider the "best" to run? I saw Loader in the highest tier in some tierlists but it doesn't look really that good maybe I'm using the character the wrong way
in my question I forgot to mention that when I'm looking for the "best" character between these I'm talking about multiplayer and not singleplayer so I'll have some people covering other roles during the runs with that "best" character
Better to put them in an easiest to hardest to use due to skill ceilings and floors.
Frome easiest to hardest to play i would say it goes: engineer, captain, artificer, loader. (Of the ones mentioned)
In terms of "best" they all have their own strengths but when just starting out I would use whats comfortable and then learn as you play. Engineer is by far the easiest to play due to you basically having 3 of him
Chef is really good with proc items so prioritze those along with the generally good items
also loader is ranked that high bc she has basically the best mobility in the game outside of seeker, and very very high damage potential, but you do need to be pretty familiar with the movement to reach the full extent of the damage
Loader definitely requires a lot of practice to get a handle on her movement
Been playing a lot of loader and my movement is still only decent with her
yeah loader is probably one of the highest skill ceilings in the game
Out of curiosity, how are you using Loader?
Think of yourself as a enraged gorilla with a grappling hook
Whats that one gif from a mobile game ad where a gorilla mauls someone
Engineer is easy enough
Place sentry, win
Flying gorilla
is this a mod or I can somehow change map palette in vanilla?
Its a mod
Do eclipse increase the amount of enemies? Esp. eclipse 2? It doesn't say that, but I just started getting lag from the amount of enemies there are even though I've never had that issue b4
I have no idea why it's lagging, then. Maybe I spent more time clearing out enemies in the past or smth
if it was fine for E1 and then you went straight into E2 with lag, your computer might be heating up and needs a quick thing of compressed air/dusting
check task manager too, see if anything's using up memory in the background
Just got false son, what items should I heavily prioritize other than the health gain items?
Depends on your main
false son works with basically everything
he slightly leans towards procs due to lunar ruin working really well with them, and his charged slam having a 1.5 coeff if you fall for more than 0.5s. But he also has some decent burst options so you can just use whatever, really
his only real antisynergy is
since it removes growth, but he's still really strong even without it
i think theres quite a few items false son isnt necessarily good with but not bad
But yeah if you wanna skip thinking you can kinda just grab everything and itll work
I'm using engineer and bustling fungus is pretty useful for my turrets. Is there an item I can substitute it for when I use the mobile turrets
unfortunately not

it's not exactly the same but it does help with their survivability quite a bit, so long as you don't lose your own elixirs
not really a "substitute" since it works great on both turrets
i think the question was asking about items to have in place of bungus for mobile turrets
I mean yeah, there's nothing that's a 1:1 replacement, but elixir is kinda the next best thing
so what would you say it better between regular turrets with bungus or mobile turrets with elixir
regular turrets are kinda just better in general
alr
not that mobile turrets are awful or anything, they're totally usable
by taking mobile turrets you just lose the bungus synergy, elixir is not exclusive to them
how is attackspeed calculated?
attack speed boost from items, are they additive or multiplicative?
additive
also is there a cap to attackspeed?
with the exception of
which are multiplicative
i think 60fps lol
yeah, 60 per second is the hard cap, but it's lower for some skills
um... so
there's no intentional cap but there is a technical cap which is as the others said
how much total attackspeed boost is that ?
yeah sorry lol, more like a cap because of animations and stuff more than a number
don't worry about it
like in terms of boost from ats boost items
wdym
it would take an unreasonable amount to reach that point
not a realistic amount of items in a run
like how many syringes would it take to reach that hard cap
and due to rounding jank, most of the attack speed items you'd pick up wouldn't even do anything
like, hundreds and hundreds, right?
varies for every ability
maybe taking engi's turret as an example
good question
no idea what the exact number is
you'd need a crazy amount of
to make engi's turrets reach the technical cap
ah i see
not an amount you'd get without purposely trying to reach it, anyways lol
yeah
not something you'd have to worry about maxing out on in a regular run
so in a typical run, i woudln't have to worry about capping out my ats
not like crit or anything
yeah
worth noting that commando does have a weirdly low AS cap on his primary, I think like 24 syringes (which is actually a bug iirc, it should be higher)
oh
skills are also susceptible to rounding issues, since attacks can't be less than a frame long. So sometimes you'll pick up a syringe and it won't do anything, but then the next syringe will be do slightly more than normal. And sometimes those gaps can get really huge
also is purity insta take on artificer
nah, she still benefits from luck
she does benefit a lot from CDR but purity's downside can still hurt her more than the reduction helps
yeah i thought so as well
would rather benefit from bandolier
Or just like, proc items
yeah if you don't have many good proc items and most of your damage is coming from flat multipliers and bands then purity is a good pickup on her
otherwise probably hold off
how do you get the seed of life
Beat the false son for the first time to unlock iirc.
thanks
Should i get seekers of the storm now or wait and see if i want alloyed collective
AC probably won't be out for a while as far as we know
ok
it'll likely be this year but they haven't given a date yet
I would take SOTS
ok, thanks for the feedback
so you should probably buy sots right away, because as soon as they do they'll announce that AC is coming out next week
Is there perhaps a way to see or detect Mithrix's spinning attack (where he starts sending those left and right walls where if you get hit it can 2 shot you)?
I dont know what the attack is called
the official name is big spinny
Fair
and there is, he starts using it once he's below 75% hp, and after that point he'll always alternate between that and the big ground shockwave attack on a 30s cooldown, so you can roughly predict when it's about to happen
So around like 30 to 50 seconds?
and below 75% health
generally yeah, it won't be perfectly exact since he can't use it if he's in the middle of another attack, but I think he always tries to use it if it's off cooldown
and once it starts you can avoid it pretty consistently by staying close to him and moving along with the lines
i always predict it once hes standing and doing nothing
Alright, thanks for everything. We almost always die at this part and its kinda getting annoying. Thanks anyway
it's pretty easy to deal with once you get a feel for it but it does take a little bit of practice
big tip is to get close to him during it since rotation is slower closer to the center
holy, that is smart but its risky
Especially since i started liking Mercenary
merc can actually panic i-frame the pizza slices with dashes and evis if you think you're about to mess up
Yeah i learned that accidently by using the dashes while he was slamming his hammer
it's actually not, at least compared to staying at a distance
if you're far away, the lines will be moving so fast that dodging them is basically RNG
if you're up close they'll be slower relative to you, so you can move and stay between them more easily.
I thought the official name was the forbidden pizza attack
even prior that dev diary I always saw people calling it pizza because well, I mean just look at it
and those people are wrong
it's like the inverse of a pizza
and it is big and it spins
also big spinny sounds funnier
Or it splits the arena into a pizza
bizz > suncles
Do armor piercing rounds work on bosses that spawn normally in the later stages?
no, only teleporter/special bosses are affected
if the healthbar is red, its a boss
unless the monsters have infusion bit thats an edgecase
*specifically a red healthbar at the top of the screen
wait my scrapper just made the noise
like the scrapping sound
I thought it was bugged and didn't do that anymore?
does icbm affect the droneman missile on engi turrets
are you playing mul-t
it does not sadly
that is it then, the scrap sound is part of mul-t's soundbank so by playing as them the sound is loaded properly
what matter of unholy jank is that
geared box
first chef's existence is the only thing holding the fabric of the universe together, now mul-t is hoarding all the scrapper noises
can't forget the malevolent blue hexagon god ...
where would ror2 be without mods lmao
probably not as popular or longlasting but i think the core game itself is good enough to warrant a reasonably large playerbase
I mean, the console playerbase exists
oh right
😠
i used the note editing trick to unlock all the characters and items would it be funner to make a new save and do it the legit way
It might be
Unlocking stuff is kinda the main thing to do in the game
But some people hate doing unlocks and just enjoy the core gameplay
i enjoyed the core gameplay alot but i realised i was getting a bit bored so i thought id do it all the legit way as god intended
Then go for it
Imo it's more fun to have a goal for a run that has a tangible reward, but that's just me
And there are plenty of unlocks that suck lmao
But it's still nice to have something to do
Has the difficulty scaler always had a red outline or is my game freaking out
your game is freaking i think
Back to normal the next stage
I'll have to pay attention more when I'm on sulfur pools to see if its stage specific
do the wisps from artifact of soul have the chance to drop an item on death with artifact of sacrifice on?
nop
Does anyone know why I have a friendly void reaver?
Turret died, larva corrupted boss item on it to zoea
your turret died w/ larva & corrupted your yellow items
crab :)
gotcha thx
If you are playing with the artifact that gives enemies items or scavs with old guiatine [idk how u spell it], if you have an aspect does the guiatine come into affect?
no, players are immune to those kinds of %-hp executes
Aight ty
are there any good lunar items for huntress
the typical, but
is a bit stronger since she has pretty good dodging (with triple blink)
just spam your R ability as to not remain vulnerable hovering in the air with it
the typical being like

Nothing feels better than picking up ukulele on my daily commando run
Add in gasoline and it is a delectable meal
I didn't mean to post that in game questions
What difficulty is that?
Oooh okay, thanks
does void cradle kill you, if you try to use it while having shaped glass in your inventory?
It takes 50% of your current max hp
Shaped glass cuts your max hp
👍
just beat eclipse 8 for the first time. Was that line here before or did it appear after beating e8? It's only the characters with e8 beaten
how can i find this stupid arancid portal thing
It shows up as long as that character has access to eclipse 8
Oh so ig e7 unlocks it
The what?
you know, the rancid portal
sends you to the rot dimension
Find my 5 pebbles
above shaded citadel
secret character spider acrid
"arancid" is actually a portmaneau of "acrid arachnid" except for the part where it isn't
I have to share that
Does the achievement for not healing until the 3rd tele just mean no healing items?
Nothing that shows up as a green healing number
Regen items are allowed, luke knurl and cautious slug
Could I cheese it with seeker or void fiend, then?
No.
if you see a green number over your head, that counts as healing
Acrid's self heal would work though since it's regen
or just use
if you wanna cheese it
Can the jade elephant
block [final boss]'s pizza cutter looking attack
But does it reduce it enough
I had 2 armor platings and 2 buffalo steaks and the red egg that gives a heal on taking damage and it still one shot me
depends on your definition of "enough"
Oh and like 3 shield generators
i would not bank on tanking pizza at all on most survivors, but you may have better odds on mul-t/loader/acrid/false son/etc
those items you listed do very little against pizza, you want sources of armor or outright mitigation
etc
but still, best not to try to facetank it
yeah
will save you if you fuck up the movement but youre never really gonna intentionally not dodge
none of those would really be very good at countering big spinny
(yes that's what it's called)
specialize in reducing small, rapid hits, like burn damage or titan beams or whatever, not huge bursts. And bison steak just sucks in general
All I want to do is be able to be hit by the thing at full health and Not Die
Preferably as Commando
I mean, you could also just not get hit by it
unless you're really dead set on facetanking it for some reason
but you can dodge it pretty consistently by getting close to it and moving along with the lines. the closer you are, the slower they'll move relative to you.
And once he's below 75% in phase 3, he'll always alternate between big spinny and the big ground shockwave thing with a 30s cooldown, so you can sorta predict when it'll happen
mithrix hits like a truck but he has pretty consistent attack patterns
also if you're at full health it's one of the only big dangerous attacks that oneshot protection actually works on
^ all damage is hard capped at 90% of your max health, so as long as you're above 90%hp, you won't die from a single hit
emphasis on single, multihits can still wreck you
not something you wanna rely on but it helps in specific cases
osp really only helps when big tanky enemies (scav mithrix) get n'kuhana & a healing source
eh, there are more use cases than that
vagrant novas and big spinny are probably the two most common places it'll come into play in normal circumstances
or just getting clapped in the back of the head by an elite brass contraption or something
unless said elite is blazing or overloading or voidtouched
in which case you still die
i forget about vagrant nova but odds are, getting hit by a single pizza & getting crippled will make it pretty likely that you will die to a spawn or another pizza
I think being able to get away with messing up once is pretty good, and the more healing you have the more useful it is
Hello!
I've recently been playing ror2, as railgunner, but im a little lost on the items I should be getting?
Ive tried to follow some tier lists on which items to get first, keep, scrap. but majority of them seem to be all about damage? which makes sense... but I cant stay alive long enough in higher stages.
Does anyone have any ideas/decent websites on items for damage as well as health so i can stay alive as railgunner in higher stages? - Any help appreciated!
the damage items being good is because of "total" damage items, multiplying the damage that is actually being done to the monster (compared to base damage, the base stat) since she hits in hard bursts
an example is ATG, if that proccs, it will do 300% of the damage of the attack that activated it, meaning it will absolutely devastate an enemy
with that, crowbar is a very good item, as many enemies will simply get killed in one hit while above the health threshold
in terms of staying alive, you can maintain relatively good mobility by jumping around while shooting, as at the peak of your jump, due to gravity decelerating you, your speed is 0 and wont be moving your cursor around, meaning you can adjust accordingly, and reload while landing
your m1 unscoped also propels you ever so slightly, meaning you can stay in the air longer or go higher up if you shoot downwards while going up
combining the R skill with the mine can also stack momentum, leading to going all the way to the mithrix arena if done right
Opal, Tougher Times, Medkit, Monster Tooth, Slug
oh yeah, i guess i latched on too hard to the trouble staying alive part
the logbook should be able to tell you what's total vs base damage, though, in terms of what damage items like mentioned
dont slack on aoe either though, like gas, since youll be overwhelmed if it's truly all damage items
Tierlists aren't really too helpful especially for newer players
some of it can just be if an item feels right for you, especially
i know some ppl who still scrap headstompers
I prioritize gas/ukulele on railgunner just cause the piercing on the special can be a little slow to setup
in general i feel like a lot of newer players underestimate the importance of mobility items
I'm new and I barely take anything about mobility
mobility is very important !!
Very
if you can dodge attacks entirely, you wont rely as much on healing/damage reduction items
and in general taking less damage is good
Only the drinks and maybe the double jump thing when I'm using a character with no mobility moves, other than that nothing
the goat hooves are best for movespeed
^
I was told they were the worst
Goat hooves + drinks is the basics of movement items imo
the drinks are ok but only boost your speed when youre sprinting
the goat hooves give you speed all the time
Feather is a lil uncommon and u won't find it on every run, so
But it's always a solid take
Oh
I'm not planning on doing random items runs soon
I just got the artifact so I'll be fine
if youre commanding it then go for goat hooves over drinks
what items do you normally end up taking most the time
X10 glasses for 100% crit and the green items that proc with crit rate
the green items give you 5% chance
For white I also get drinks, boost for attack speed and the bears
so if you have both the green crit items you only need 9 glasses :p
I'm referring to the items that boost attack speed when doing crit
but the crit chance on the greens doesnt stack
And the ones that heal on crit
yes those give you 5% crit chance each
Only the first stack tho
Meaning if u get a 2nd one it doesn't give u another 5% crit
the scythe that heals you gives you +5% crit chance no matter how many you have
the headdress that gives you attack speed gives you +5% crit chance also no matter how many
I didn't know they also give crit chance
yeahh the game doesnt tell you lmao its okay
It does?
do it ?
If u actually read the item description
does it say in the logbook
So if I get the headdress and also the heal one I can just get 9 glasses for the 100%? That's good to know if it's true
ohhhh okok
Like, if u click on it in the inven
I'll manage the items better
That too
also the bear that blocks damage stacks funny
the more stacks you get the less impactful the next one is
like going from 3 to 5 bears is way more noticable than going from 5 to 8
kewl yeah thats a good amount
more than that it really stops making that big of a difference how many you get
id also say for damage negation the repulsion armor plate is good
but dont forget movespeed above that still !!
Are there reasons people go over the highest stack amount for items?
Wdym highest stack
?
thats just how many youve had at a given time
like the most amount of that item youve held at once is 6
aghhh, i see.

what character do you normally play
Idk I'm trying different ones, Engineer, Bandit, captain
For engineer I get different items tho
specifically for bandit attack speed doesnt matter as much
but for the other two attack speed is great
on all of them though especially engi and captain movespeed is again really important
Yeah they're the only 2 characters where I get the double jump and more drinks
For engineer I focus more in tankiness first tho
I use the normal turrets plus the mushroom that heals if I don't move
Then the glasses I don't go immediately to the movement or damage boost
But now I'm trying the mercenary because he looks really powerful when I get enough blue items to spam his R
for engi if youre doing the bungus thing you dont need as many crit heals
also for engi i see a lot of people try to make their turrets really tanky, but as engi your turrets are replacable but you are not
which is to say that you kinda wanna prioritize you surviving over your turrets
yeah, with the geodes
I didn't think they would even spawn
I thought it had to be a normal collosus path stage next
Didn't mean to ping you, then
oh right, I think that's a bug
As long as the stage doesn't increment, I feel like you should just be able to do that
If it is technically a bug right now
normally you have to be on a stage that lines up with PoTC but for some reason if you go to the bazaar from stage 5, you get a green portal straight to prime meridian
yeah, afaik it's unintended but it does sorta make sense
"Is this a bug or a feature?"
"Yes"
well there is no stage 1 path of colossus they just did a math oopsie
Underflow strikes again
not really they just said "less than 5" which includes 1 but there isnt a 1 so it defaults to pm
So by farming enemies you can get money to convert to XP and level up, making your character stronger
But as you spend time farming, the difficulty goes up, and enemies become stronger
Now the difficulty increases at a fairly constant rate, but leveling up takes a lot more XP each time
So what's the breaking point where XP is no longer economical?
you shouldnt worry about your level at all
youll naturally get to around lvl 20 ish by the end of stage 5
which is where it starts to slow down to a crawl and stops mattering entirely
Nah, difficulty is also exponential
Each stage increases it by 15%
But levels are more so you can keep up until you get items
the vast majority of your power comes from items, player level is more of a rubber banding mechanic
and most items (especially damage) tend to build on each other's effects in some way, so they'll scale much better than the linear stat increase you get from levels
it's never worth it to farm just for xp, just get as much gold as you need to buy stuff (ideally you wanna full-clear every stage)
no "gain more XP" items because it's not really a real mechanic
levels are alright boost but you have literally no influence
it's just kinda there
the humble pre rework luminous shot:
yeah gbx it really helped
genuinely head scratching stat
luminous giving extra xp was so random that I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bug
not sure how that would even happen but still
Hey just real quick, how rare is it to get a Naturally generated Legendary chest
pretty rare
impossible to give the exact odds but probably less than like 5-10%, and they can only spawn from stage 4 onwards
And does it change depending on how many players there are?
sorta, having more players means you get more interactable spawns, but it doesn't change the rarity
ive seen like maybe 4 or 5 legendary chest natural spawns across 800 hours
And how rare would it be to have two naturally generate on the same stage…
also rare but i had that happen like twice out of those 5
Just asking cuz I was using a mod for Player generation stuff and uh, yeah
Anyway that was all

brainstalks: it says enter frenzy but was wondering it would be attack speed and movement speed buff
or just no cooldown thing
several items that mentions the keyword "frenzy"
just the no cooldown thing
frenzy isn't a specific buff, it's just how they described the effect
Is the location of the newt altar randomized on each stage?
partially, there are pre-determined spots where they can spawn but it's random which spot they'll be in, apart from a handful of guaranteed ones
How do I unlock the modifier that makes enemies drop items and the one where I can pick what item I want?
you need to input their codes into the artifact portal on sky meadows or helminth hatchery (both are stage 5), then complete their "trials"
Artifacts are game modifiers that may drastically alter some aspect of gameplay. Most Artifact codes can be found engraved on rectangular stone tablets scattered through the game (generally hidden), which must be inputted in a special event to unlock the corresponding Artifact. Once an Artifact is unlocked, the player can enable it at the start ...
(spoiler warning on the code link, codes are found in-game if you do not want to use wiki)
I was on a level that had a computer and like 9 circles on the floor. I tried a random set then left after it didn't work
yeah, you need to find the right codes for it
there's one right next to it as an example and the rest are hidden throughout the game
Can you input the code you want or is it set to a run?
you can input whatever
the codes for each artifact are always the same
you can even unlock multiple modifiers in a single run
Ahhh ok I just spammed random icons
hi everyone i just started playing Risk Of Rain 2 on PS5 im trying to get The False Son i was so close but died i used the command artifact to help get to the 3rd phase i did how a video said on youtube but its more difficult than i expected any tips
I also used mercenary. That is the survivor. I most feel comfortable with using.
I'm not familiar with aurelionite in the fight but I'm pretty familiar with the FS fight itself so here's some general tips and info for false son you might find helpful:
Dash only happens in phase 1 and is always followed up with a shotgun, if you're preparing for him to dash, prepare for him to shotgun directly after.
Since the shotgun is tied to the dash, it means it also is exclusive to the first phase. You can block the dash from getting directly to you by putting a pillar between you and false son, and also can block shotgun with it too
In every phase he gets slower and due to the loss of the dash you can outrun him in phase 2 and entirely dodge any of his melee attacks in phase 3 by walking simply walking away you can look directly at him and hold straight backwards, and the slam will be dodged, during the laser you can cover the eye with the pillar if you allign your POV with the character, and just hold backwards, pillar blocks the laser and backwards walking dodges the slams
Make sure to prepare for the ability steal by being next to the geode, it has really easy cycles to remember: first at the beginning of the fight, the next soon after the laser, and the third (iirc, might be fourth 😅)and most dangerous is during the laser
Oh also, on the back outer edges of the arena in phase 2, you can find two rocks/nubs which you can use to not only block laser, but if you're out of false son's LoS then he won't notice you and will not run towards you until you decide he does, which makes the laser fully and completely safe to wait out, the golems can kinds slam you, but it's not really an issue
Actually I just remembered something that might help
Because xorgee is insane at the FS fight
wow ok thank you so much ima try that
Np ♥️
True!
Is it me or does blazing elite burn damage last longer depending on the enemy/attack
Yeah
Burn deals total damage, but iirc the actual damage ticks are base damage, so in order to compensate the duration increases instead
Ah oki
Yeah, burn tick rate is 5 ticks per second at 10% base damage
So if an attack ignites and it's total damage is 500% base, it ticks 50 times, 5 per second, coming out to 10 seconds
yoo guys how loops do i need to do to gurantee that the hermit crabs would spawn in titanic plains
Only one, sometimes you might have to wait a bit before they spawn
i waited 10 mins and they never spawned why is this ahcivement so tedious vro 😭
yea it’s really annoying
Just in case, if you have any DLC, disable it for this achievement. Makes it harder to get
not really necessary
cuz they can alternatively use the seers in bazaar between time, providing that they have 4 lunar coins in their deep, deep pocket
still you increase the chances of getting the stage and the stage choosing hermit crabs as a spawn
the dlc stage 1's can also show up in seers, so titanic plains is still less likely either way
Does anyone have a good item reference? Looking for a quick reference to have open while playing so I can see if an item is offense, defense, healing, or "don't bother". I found this one that includes the Void DLC, but not the Storm DLC.
https://old.reddit.com/r/riskofrain/comments/ufi9r0/i_made_a_ror2_item_cheat_sheet_for_myself_maybe/
well, there's the wiki and the ingame logbook, but they're not laid out as neatly as that chart. There's also the 'inspect item' function that you can turn on in settings (under that umbrella settings thing on the first page) that lets you check what an item does before picking it up https://riskofrain2.wiki.gg/wiki/Items
Items are special collectibles that spawn while playing the game.
Players can pick items up to gain a special effect based upon what type of item it is. Each item's icon also has a colored border to indicate its rarity:
Some items need to be unlocked by completing a Challenge to appear in game. Pick up an item to unlock its logbook entry.
There...
I don't think there's anything that mentions if an item is damage/healing/utility but that's usually self explanatory based on what the item does
I was not aware of the "inspect item" function. I will check that out.
if you want a quick "don't bother" list, here you go
these can all be rerolled or scrapped like 95% of the time, outside of some very niche cases like steak and knurl being usable on
I did actually make an item category list like this once but I'll have to look through my discord messages to find it
Roll of pennies should be in Money and not damage mitigation but this should do
ha, thanks.
Neat! Thank you!
Knurl gives increased regen but idk how it compares to slug
it's just over half a slug, 1.6(+0.32/level) compared to slug's +3(+0.6/level)
Figured
Is there an artifact portal in the other stage 5
yes, at the very top of the map
ty
realistically, are the lunar items even good??
It's a mixed bag
yes a lot of them are game breaking
Outside of eclipse, focused convergence is almost always worth it
me and my bf lowkey hate them but only recently has he started liking them
I'd honestly just recommend trying all of them. Be warned that longstanding solitude, the sots lunar, is not friends with the gilded coast stage
gesture is absurdly strong, glass is essentially a free win if you have decent defense items, tonic is insane, and transcendence just nullifies like half of the eclipse modifiers
i might try it in our next run. we like to play together
my game ends up lagging so much tho cuz i use a laptop and he has this huge ass pc
Defiant gouge is a personal favorite
💔
You can try checking out the coop mod
brittle crown is also quite nice
Maybe his computer can handle both of yall
my bf wont even use minecraft mods, i doubt he'd ever use ror2 mods
dude whenever we get to our 3rdish round im so laggy
honestly my favorite items are the void items
You might be able to get a mod for yours that cuts away more graphics for performance
I'd suggest asking #ror2-modding
ohh fr?
I don't use mods myself but I hear about them
you can also check task manager next time you play, see if there's anything using up memory in the background and kill it
and ofc bottom out your graphics settings if you haven't already
Afaxmachine very helpful
lol
do those mods still allow me do coop with someone who doesnt have mods?
Should if they're client side
^^^ check the tags on the mod page, clientside-only mods don't need to be shared in multiplayer
okay!\
what is the purpose of the debuff tier
the debuffs it spreads are pretty much exclusively going to be either dot or damage boosts so like why is it separate
Good question!
Idk I made that like half a year ago atp
Looking at death mark, in the Void biomes ( Null Portal), does the Void effect actually count?
If the monsters have Death mark
i dunno
it shouldnt really matter since you can hardly ever get 4 debuffs at once on yourself
Idk about that. Band cooldown and eclipse perma damage are already 2 against you. It's valid to question that scenario
fog and cooldowns dont count
Coulda sworn band cooldown does, or it might be when bands are off cooldown
Band being off cooldown is a buff, it works with growth nectar
same for safer spaces and breaching fin
As for the cooldown contributing to death mark I don't know because I've rarely seen death mark in void fields and I don't play with artifacts
technically debuff, cooldown, workForNectar are all 3 entirely separate things
ok but can we not bring up eclipse like ever 🥹
that would be counterproductive
on seeker?
I might be blind, but where's 🔪?
Bottom with gasoline and wisp and the gang
bleed is the opposite of a burst item what
it needs the enemy to be alive for a long time to get its best damage
transcendence on seeker?
very very good bc it's still bugged with sojourn
wait is it truely inf time?
bleed is like, the most proc item of all the proc items
I'd consider it more burst because it procing is 100% on any fast shooting survivor and on slow shooting ones it doesn't compare to the other proc items
Alt seeker ability tho
...that would make it a proc item???
Burst items are items that are good on slow heavy hitters, like bands and crowbar. Tritip is the complete opposite, its best on survivors with a high proc rate
shouldnt genesis be in saves
Why is the level cap 94?
xp integer limit
quick question
is merc whirlwind not uhh... allowed past eclipse 3? im guessing its something to do with the 2x and lethal fall damage, but ive now lost 2 runs by whirlwinding up a slope and insta dying
wondering if u can even launch urself to pillar skip before mithrix?
what is the best way to unlock all the logbook items
use artifact of command
it doens't work if i don't have the item unlocked in the first place
Those times where you died were probably due to that slope being a bit concaved
i have a clip of one of them, it didnt look like it, but sounds like that might be it
Trimping is fine past e3 however it can occasionally screw you over.
You can send the clip
well most importantly is does it work off that ramp in commencement near the torch so i can launch myself to mithrix?
Ok this might not be the concave slope funny
uh oh
also happened on a slope in scorched acres but didnt clip that one
that one was a bit more frustrating cause it was like 25 mins into the run 😭
I can't quite tell what happened here since this is the first time I've seen a trimp death without it being on a concave slope
Or at least the slope doesn't look concave
😭 so odd
i wanna figure this out cause i dont wanna lose more runs to this lmao
no clip for scorched acres but this was the slope i died on @worldly olive
whirlwinded from that lower area and died
Quite hard for me to see where that is
Though I don't think that slope is concave so probably something different is going on here
well if anyone else can help solve this death please check out this clip and let me know if theres a reason for this happening
Yeah that just happens sometimes when you trimp with whirlwind
really?? 😭 so do i just need to not do it on eclipse
its so engraved into my mind
thats so annoying
just kinda dont do it on too step walls but yeah best you can hope for is they fix it eventually
alr ill try to avoid it
if i ever die on the slope for pillar skip im gonna tweak so hard
do scavenger spawn before looping?
with Dissonance or on Sundered Grove they can, otherwise no
one spawn and he had a fricking royal capacitor.
u cna guess how I found out
yo, curious about spare drone parts in multiplayer. does it apply to everyone's drones or just the person who's carrying spare drone parts?
poked around the internet but couldn't find a conclusive answer
your drones not all drones
cool thx
i mean it should be obvious given how defensive microbots work
Does finishing a run in eclipse give you the mastery skin for the survivor?
Yes
Are there any plans for ps5 and pc or xbox crossplay?
No
Command makes it easier to get the unlocks you don't have already
(But technically the easiest way is editing your save file or using the RealerCheatUnlocks mod)
What’s the key to soloing Monsoon? I haven’t really beaten it except with some other guy while I used a cheesey strat with false son.
Is it time?
full loot
just get better at the game overall
better decision making and pathing and whatnot
its not very deep its just play more get better kind of deal
ah ok
oh damn ty, should i do this on drizzle?
thats the difficulty and artifacts i chose wth 😭
oh yeah do hermit crabs spawn in distant roost?
Only titanic plains stage 6 and onwards for the achievement (maybe a few other environments but plains is the earliest)
damn, how about abyssal depths does that have a edge?
Abyssal depths is completely enclosed so no
i am never getting this achivement bro 💔
The progress is persistent between runs
question, how does tri tip stack???
my friend says that if you get more than 10 (aka 100% proc chance) it can proc twice
+10% chance per stack
that's just false
100% chance doesn't have any effect
granted, proc coeff does make it so 10 stacks isn't necessarily 100% chance
Everyone keeps telling me but i dont think it is. Has ror2 had a crossplay update?
ah alrighty!
dont think so
unless you mean steam and EA, then yes
Knew it
yo guys, can different monsters spawn as you stay in one stage?
Each stage has a set list of monsters that can spawn on it
im on titanic plains rn waiting for hermit crabs to spawn
its been 10 mins and they arent spawning should i just let go?
are you looping
they only spawn on loops
^
basically
yes
damn
this is stage 6 and they havent spawned and im on drizzle
😭
should i just let go atp 😭
