Yes
How long would providence and the population of petrichor 5 be able to fend off an invasion from dooms hell
no
no, but theres roughly the same amount of overall stuff. theres a stage director thats given a certain amount of credits to spend when generating the stage, which it spends by spawning chests, printers, drones, etc.
so on average youll see the same amount of chests, but each time you go it will be a bit different
the pool of what can spawn, how likely they are to spawn, and how many credits the director gets, are different for each stage as well. so some will spawn more total stuff than others, and some may spawn more chests specifically than others compared to the rest of the stuff it spawns
mercenary vs comamndod wo has the strogner m1
commando
Wow, thank you for the detailed explanation!!
if you count expose transfer as part of the m1 then mercenary but if not commando
merc expose transfer is very strong but it doesn't really compare to the consistency & reliability of mando
Borkando
y'know, messages take time to write ...
i think they were replying to charlotte lol
.ya' swt t,ns ia ektr o eswemmeet.koig. 💔 💔
oh 😭
well nevermind then ...
Aw crap I forgot to link it to charlotte responding to me lol
no gif perms.................
Didn’t know that, man I truly am a villain
be damned.......
Im just committing cardinal sins over here lol
does sirens call not appear on drizzle 😭
bad luck 💔
💔
try newt altars
i avoided them because i had an army of drones but atp im just gonna do that now
i just realized
i intrusively thought it killed them all
i js wanted my drones 💔
no!! it just disables them for the stage, you get em back after 💔
gorilla
merc m1 i feel like is probably better on average.. it would only barely be behind mando m1 by itself but has really big aoe and the expose also gives full kit cdr
mando has range but merc is so mobile thats not a big deal, and mando m1 also has falloff so
commando would get more procs per second for like bleed tho
Any tips for the false son fight? I'm struggling to see how to approach the fight, aside from staying as far as possible from its melee range, and it's quite a lot harder than mithrix since you don't have as many items when you get there
I'm also struggling with the halyconite enemy it's kinda hard to dodge the spinning move
You're gonna want to try to stay at mid-range for both and never stop moving. Keep dodging whenever you can. You don't have to enter the path to the false son at zone 1
Remember to use the geodes, they clear lunar ruin and protect you
I've been playing chef and it is tempting to try to get in melee range to freeze him. When is it safe to get close?
There isn't a firm answer to that you're gonna want to watch him learn his rhythm and find thelulls
do you need to melee to freeze? the icebox is projectiles
play defensive and wear him down, use cover and stay near geodes as much as you can. Most of the difficulty of the fight is just from the amount of stuff going on at once, if you can focus on avoiding that then FS himself usually isn't too much of a problem as long as you keep your distance
also he aggroes to minions really easily, respawnable minions are secretly op for that fight
Yeah it's mostly a thing about how well you can split your focus
Like, attention. Not attacks. Just understanding and eaving between everything to focus fire on FS
I guess I need to stop treating him less like mithrix going ooga booga freeze op
False son is way easier than mithrix if you approach it from a direction of paying attention and exercising skill to fight him instead of just hoping your build does it for you, but he is really hard if you want your build to do it for you and don't have respawning allies
How does false sons growth work
I need to get 40 but I can’t get more and I’m at 37
Does it just stop randomly
How do you get more cus I’ve been tanking like a gazillion hits
(Btw you need to get to 44. 40 from growth. You'll want another stone flux pauldrone or two)
Just keep raising max hp
it's based on how much extra hp you have from items, getting hit doesn't do anything for it
I have that one build where you level up from getting hit
So I thought that was how
your level can help indirectly
a quick way to get it is to get 2-3 repulsion armors, a decent amount of rolls of pennies, go to a bazaar and get longstanding solitude and stone flux pauldron, and finally just let the enemies pile up on you
stoneflux will give u extra hp from that level
this was how i got the achievement so it should work
is atg missles or plasma shrimp better on commando
basically prioritize in % hp increases
not the flat hp increases (bison steak infusion and titanic knurl)
the % hp increases are
prayer beads, growth nectar, stoneflux, both pearls, spinel tonic, and longstanding solitude (doesnt directly give you growth but since you have more levels you have more hp so your % hp items are better blah blah blah)
also ego lets you get a fuckton of pearls if you also wanna count that
you can get the secondary unlock really easily with just one longstanding solitude, a few roll of pennies, and a few stonefluxes
shrimp tends to be better in general, unless you have clover
level does tho
its why solitude is unironically false sons best growth item
Okay fair level effects % items
Sorry i ideologically refuse to do math about video games i did enough math in college for a lifetime
Don't do STEM, kids
i dont think the base 4 count so you need 44
Bro
What is the best / most fun false son loadout
How do I activate boost on chef?
equip yes chef and hit R
Does the false son unlock that requires 40 spikes count if you do it by stacking stone flux pauldrons?
yeah, anything that contributes to growth counts
Awesome, was a little unsure since the popup didn't come up, but I'm guessing it's the sort that checks on the end.
trust me, you are not the first
Backup magazines don't count
It has to be from growth
Oooh, yeah I have 3 backup mags, so that'd put it at 43.
what are those green elites that have a field around them
Healing elites.
A field as in a warbanner-type circular field or as in special swirly effects
Because celestine is the only elite with a warbanner-type field but they're more blue than green
They make any other non-celestine enemies in the field invisible
i looked it up its malachite
Ohh yup that's the other one I was thinking of with the swirly effects
Oh that one doesn't project a field around itself.
You were looking at the malachite shards it scatters around.
The swirly field doesn't actually do anything, it's just a visual, but the elite itself disables all healing for a while whenever it damages you
Also shoots out spikes on occasion that stick to surfaces and do the same thing on contact
They ALSO leave behind an aggressive urchin on death that shoots at you before dying
Kinda funny how many different things they do
I never understood the urchin thing. Seems like overkill. Maybe its intended to give lore
Damnit, I messed up on letting aurelionite get the mithrix kill!
I misjudged how much health mithrix had left and killed him with a single spike.
it makes me very happy that they are mostly loop-exclusive ...
When you run brittle crown longstanding solitude, why shouldn’t you stack ls?
Max health from items
How do I know bonus health
health granted by items, rather than from leveling up
I don’t get it

📿
:growthnectar:
although levels can affect it if you have health multipliers like stone flux or pearls
more bonus health = more growth = more lunar spikes and stuff
I’ve had more than 40 spikes but not get the challenge
it doesn't count the 4 that you start with or backup mags
it has to be 40 spikes gained through growth
They need to rephrase that achievement
we really should make like, a pin with the maybe 2-3 patch 3 questions that keep getting asked
What
Like a frequently asked questions
yeah, so we can use the check pins sticker lol
the growth thing specifically gets asked like 10+ times a day
and people keep reporting it as a bug
Eh ppl won't check the pins anyway
yeah, using the "check pins" sticker i bet would save fax a lot of time tho
or whoever is in here at the time
Most of the times the question is asked have been right after it was asked
I'm usually here these days cause I want to talk RoR2 but I also want to go into the dlc blind so I've gotta stay here where ppl won't be talking about the trailer
so, are the big questions rn just the Seeker 500k, False Son 44 spike, and chef burn stacks? i can probably type somethin up
Ppl keep also asking best items and best build but yeah that's pretty much it for stuff that actually has clean answers iirc
Personally I’ll just ask questions and not check puns I ain’t got time for that
Why isn't the "False Son: Protein Heavy Diet" working?
- You need 40 additional spikes specifically through growth, meaning not the base 4 or
. This makes you get at least 44 total.
How do I get the "Seeker: Scorched Earth" challenge?
- Since it requires you to do 500k total, the easiest way to do this is by using swarms to hit as many enemies as possible. Get multiple types of damage items to build off of eachother.
also trivialises this due to the near infinite use time it gives sojourn. Glass (either artifact or item) changes the BASE damage, so you should avoid these. This has been patched with the recent update.
How do I get the "CHEF: It's Getting Hot In Here!" challenge?
- Since the burn stacks do indeed clear after use, you can use either other burn sources such as
, or attack speed. The amount of burn stacks scales with attack speed, getting up to 26 stacks with 10 syringes. - The "alternate" way according to the wiki.gg is: "After using unboosted Sear, quickly use "Yes, CHEF!" midway through the attack animation and then use boosted Sear immediately. If done correctly, this should apply 20 stacks of burn quickly enough to complete the challenge without relying on items."
i think those are the only ones that keep getting repeatedly asked, i dont check here as often as i used to though
What about Rex
what about em?
How do challenge
Which one
oh, his unlock? i dont think that gets asked that frequently nowadays
not like 10 times a day at least
I can't even remember the last time anyone asked about how to get rex
occasionally there's a question about some of his unlocks but not enough to warrant a pin
All of them
I’m like Rex main
if we ever update the character guides from like, 2022, it might be good to include them in the rex section ig
ok?
For dunked just keep restarting runs until you get dunestrider on stage 2 aqueduct
Easier if you go to the bazaar after every stage 1 and dream for aqueduct
I can't remember what the other unlocks are tbh 😭
for the 50% health one just keep spamming mortar to keep your health under 50%, or you can stack enough
so that more than half your health is shield and then just hurt yourself often enough to keep it from regenerating
the heal 1000hp at once thing is pretty straightforward, just get rejuv racks, a bunch of hp and foreign fruit or something
but yeah I don't think those are worth pinning, they hardly ever get asked
hi, could someone tell me which environments are in the game when you dont have any dlcs?
Distant roost, titanic plains, verdant falls
Abandoned aqueducts, Wetland aspect
Rallypoint delta, scorched acres
Abyssal depths, siren's call
Sky meadow
Commencement
because theres one map in the log book between the first stage environments and the second stage environments which i dont know which is it
hold on, let me take a screenshot
I just started anyone have basic tips to help beat rainstorm difficultly
I have 20 runs so far
items > time, try to get more items than minutes elapsed
avoid killing pointlessly if you have enough gold to full loot
Speed is key, always get a full clear, speeding up should mean moving faster and thinking faster not cutting corners
Also try to go around the stage looking for chests while killing stuff so you know where to go for looting once you have all the gold
Keep track of what the items you have do and what holes are left in your build
you learn what items are good generally, but let me find the basic description on proc v burst
uh basically this
don't worry too much about getting a "good build" either, the best build is usually having a bit of everything anyway since items tend to build on each other's effects (especially damage)
Is loader In the vanilla game are they DLC
vanilla
You're usually gonna have a few abilities that do damage and trigger on kill, when you do it's often smart to take on small enemies surrounding big enemies instead of targeting the big one because they sweep through things quickly and speed is life
Well I had an amazing build then I killed a grandparents and somehow it did thousands of damage in DOT after it died
Cover is your friend
the dlc characters are

SOTS:

everybody else will be vanilla
yeah, it makes an aoe and if you dont stand in the shadows you get burn stacks VERY fast
the shadows are an indicator of "safe" from their sun attack and the vagrant explosion
The sun attack applies overheat and burn
Burn does damage, and overheat makes burn last longer
It does the sun attack if it falls below half health and like jiji said cover protects you from it
Yeah not likely to accomplish much with that
Cover helps with that and the jellyfish explosion and honestly most things
Oh I have no image perms to show what I had
If somethings a problem just break line of sight and then it isn't
yeah, it's based on line of sight, same as a wandering vagrant explosion
what is the best loadout for false son now after the update?
Either way there's no set of items that'll win the game for you (well there is but you shouldn't focus on that cause it's mostly luck) still best to try to dodge and keep track of what's happening. Just let them help instead of carry, focus less on "I've got such good items, I can never lose!" and more on avoiding danger and... just generally I see a lot of newbies forget this is still a video game and trust their items to fight for them you still gotta fight like a video game
and there's really not an item that instantly wins, always get a mix
unless you're loader, then you can probably dump every green into kjaros tbh
It's probably best to just mess around and get a feel for what you enjoy. He doesn't have any bad builds tbh
ok thx
I'd say 1221 is possibly his worst but it's still false son so it isn't really bad
Or maybe 1211
Idk
1221 has anti-synergy with utility and special while 1211 has anti-synergy with utility and m2
oh right, i heard laser of the father is bad now? what changed
Well actually
It used to have a bug where each use of it permanently increased its tickrate, making it a self-scaling ability essentially
They fixed that which was a major indirect nerf, and combined with the laser burst buffs it's just bad now
Legit using your m1s over lotf is more dps and also allows you to conserve lunar ruin stacks
oh, they never nerfed that 3.0 proc either did they
so it would be way better lategame anyway
They did
yeah, that's pretty average, not bad tho
Do you know about the guaranteed red item on stage 4 btw?
They actually kinda replaced it with a more fun way to get higher than 1.0 proc
Slam now gets +0.5 proc coeff if you use it midair and stay midair for at least 0.5s before landing
I didn't there is one?
Also how many items should I leave stage 1 with
yeah, on abyssal depths and sundered grove there's a guaranteed legendary chest that spawns in pre-set spots, and on siren's call there's a secret boss that always drops one
generally i'd say like, 8-15 for full loot? it's still partially RNG whether the director gives good loot
Depends on a lot of things tbh
Dlc stages tend to have more chests and the number of chests/chance shrines per stage varies
But yeah 7-15 is generally the range for me
All of them, always best to go for a full clear
All the items, drones are helpful, turrets are kinda there I guess
But I don't know many chests there are
There's not a set number
I don't want to spend 5 minutes looking for a chest that doesn't exist
Just explore the whole level and get every chest you see
7-15 depending on environment and rng
A big growth point in this game's learning the layouts of all the letters so it's less wandering and more searching
All the levels. Wow I'm stupid today
with experience you start to get a feel for how many there ought to be
But yeah really just explore the whole level and when you've swept it and it looks like you've got everything, you're ready
Yeah they'll do that
commencement enemies don't fuck around
Commencement enemies are a nice overconfidence check tbh
Moreso than mithrix actually because at least lunar wisps can hit you 💀
seek my storm...
???
Are crits from lensmaker and harvester based on proc coefficient?
So does like nailgun have a lower chance to crit bc its .5
crit chance itself isn't affected by proc coeff, but the amount of healing you get from scythe and leeching seed is
Hey, is there something like a item description Mod, to see what items do before i take them?
that exists in vanilla, just turn on inspect item in settings
it's under that umbrella settings thing on the first page
On top of what faxmachine said lookingglass allows you to ping items to see their full logbook descs
Oh thats cool 👀 Thank you!
And how do i get this area gone?
kill the purple guys
Ohh, thats how you do it, thank you
kill the WHAT
what are the general playstyle/guidelines that I should follow whenplaying seeker in multiplayer? for example what items do I prioritise
Seeker kinda just likes everything tbh since her kit is so insane
That said if you're using sojourn then
are great
well yeah, but surely there are some which are more appealing than others, especially depending on my teammate right?
and I dont use sojourn, too tupid for it plsu I love the vfx of the tornado
Guys is seeker bugged?
The new abilities don’t seem to proc a lot and don’t scale …?I feel like they don’t
Most talking about the palm ability (haven’t unlocked the tornado )
iirc the palm doesnt scale past lvl 1 yes, idk about the other abilities though
but mentioning it yeah the 1700% doesnt feel much like 1700% damagelater on...
(meditate)
Isn’t it 700% damage ?
palm blast is, plus additional scaling with tranquility which I cant tellyou, but meditate at max tranquility should be 1700%
Is meditate better than the palm?
Palm is fun but it’s no point using it if it doesn’t scale well…
That self revive buff was really needed
first of all it gives you a free dio every single stage
And also the fact that it revives past the 7th stack
then its a massive aoe, that heals, and also its way easier to stack tranquility with it
its a busted ability and 10x better than palm blast in like every way
except maybe range, but everything else easily makes up for it
Thank you so much
Now I know how good meditate
I just got the seekers dlc so I never really got to play seeker a lot
Also between sojourn and other utility ability
Sojourn is better?
yeah I also got it like 2 days ago, but have been obsessing over it nonstop
I should say take this with a grain of salt and PLEASE someone else better than me answer this aswell but from my experience alt utility is better, its way better mobility if you learn to control it, it gives some very nice crowd control, sets up your secondary skill for garantueed hits, and is good always and dosent require items, plus ngl atleast ive found that damage isnt smth thats missing in seekers kit so sojourn feels a bit exessive to me
again pls someone better answer aswell but those are my thoughts
literally afree dios every stage, its nuts
The devs really cooked
Looks cooler too! But that’s my PO
YESSSS, summoning a giant tornado before slapping them with my giant balls makes me feel so powerful
(seekers alt secondary)
The balls are quite powerful
Never underestimate them balls
Both are great but it is kind of hard to beat sojourn's infinite damage scaling + hitbox deletion + invulnerability even though it already deletes your hitbox????
Also for some reason
Later stages the palm doesn’t proc as much?? Like around stage 5 every time I use the palm it doesn’t proc my bands but it did in earlier stages
Oki
Yeah that's a result of the damage not scaling with level
Bands trigger on hits that deal 400% of your base damage
Palm blast eventually does less than that because it doesn't scale with your base damage 😭
There is a mod that fixes that bug at least, PalmPatcher
Is the palm not scaling intentional or a bug…?
It's a bug
Ohhh yeah I saw that as well
im assuming this bug doesnt happen with meditate right? this might just be me nothaving played enough but it does soemtimes feel like the damage later on isnt 1700%
last tip isn't correct, refer to the wiki.gg for the easier method
ah, for merf?
Meditate is normal
alright good, im just tupid then
sear -> yes chef -> sear works for the achievement with proper timing
you have to use yes chef to cancel the sear early though, the timing is rly tight
luckily you get tons of chances
i mean that doesnt sound incorrect then, it just sounds like there's some tech
what do extra stacks of luminous shot do? im assuming add more lightning but im not sure
each item lets you get another stack of the buff
so two of them lets you get 6 max instead of 5
more charges, damage, and exp on kill (?)
i didnt even know it gave more exp on kill until i googled it tbh
It still does that?
maybe?
luminous shot is crazy good on false son...
i mean it saysss but, it might be outdated
It's really hard to tell in game lol
but yeah the merf thing isn't incorrect just the phrasing "you need either other sources of burn or atk speed"
done
thx
Guys how do I calculate how much 500000% damage is for sojourn?
Trying to get the other ability for seeker
The damage numbers are shown on hit per target, but are kinda hard to see while in the very visually distracting mess that this game can become
As for tactics, check the pinned message
Alright thank you !
iirc the numbers are pretty small, but something like the LookingGlass mod might help with their DPS counters and such too
If i loop the run through the artifact thing that brought me to stage 1 can i obliterate and get mercenary on that same run
Yes
are proc items worth keeping on false son or nah? and overall what items do I look out for and what items do I scrap (yes ik health items are op, but other than that)
false son is good with basically everything
(and total damage procs are good on everyone)
alright then cool
well yeah but id rather scrap a sticky grenade on acrid to print smth better
wheras id keep it on commando
Acrid is kind of a special case
at least if you play him passively and just let poison do all the work
Playing acrid more actively does allow for much more value from those items
M1 does some pretty good damage
but yeah for false son it's hard to go wrong, the only thing that would really screw him over is
even then he's still strong, but he loses any benefits from growth
I seee
oki, havent given him a proper try yet so just wanted to make sure
before screwing myself lol
do you guys know what the little halcyonite thing here does?
its not here cause i shot it
its in the corner on the right behind the portal to exit the bazaar
just over here
If you find and break all 3 a green portal appears
waow
As many times as you want
Ooooh, okay that is extremely helpful as a reliable way to get to that alt path.
Yes thats why they were added
First I've heard of them tbh.
They were added semi-recently in phase 2 of the sots reworks so that's probably why
how rare is gold portal from bazaar and what stages can i find it on? my luck isnt great and i have a lunar that stops me getting money
If you cannot earn money, going to the gold portal is going to be a chore
yeah it really is sadly
It's very difficult to not get softlocked in gilded coast if you have that item
It might even be impossible to do it, I don't remember
You only get softlocked if you cant pay for the halcyon shrines anymore due to reaching the level cap
known release date of the new dlc?
i didnt even think of that, luckily i decided to restart the run
awwe shucks. guess i'll wait for SOTS to go under 7.22 and get it
I'm guessing Q4 2025 cuz they got extra devs too and now they're almost exclusively working on a dlc most test youtubers said was already decently polished and in a better state than sots is now
To answer this question though, they aren't outrageously rare, nothing for it but to just keep checking in really.
But yeah you probably do not want to go in with the lunar that auto-converts gold to xp.
how rare is a shatterspleen printer?
Quite rare
same as any other yellow printer
Im having a hard time sometimes to find chests, does anyone maybe has a tip?
ive found that the mod StageRecap helped me get better at full looting, it just tells you what you missed when you teleport to the next stage, really motivates you to get em all, I also just try to build a map in my mind as I go through the stage, that way I know where ive been and havent been, but other than that itll really just take practice and getting better map knowledge
The mod sounds like a good idea, thank you
If u go to newt stage 5 does it auto loop you?
Yes
it is, its great!, warning itll make you feel horrible when you first start using it, but it will make you improve faster, just keep track of where youve been and havent that stage and youll find all the chests in no time
does laser burst have limited range? I thought it was infinite
what is the downside of transcendence?
shield is a sidegrade to hp, also it nukes false sons growth and rex self dmg cant really use it
but ya usually its just an upgrade especially on eclipse
Besides being a death sentence for false son, shields also need to go without being damaged for a short while to start regenerating.
Nukes anything that uses your max health instead of your combined health and prevents regen
Healing also doesn't work on shields, though aegis still works so that is an option even though that will be nerfed hard too since most healing scales with max health on top of flat healing.
When is the Celestial Portal spawning? Im on Stage 8 rn
When you beat the tp event
The celestial portal will always spawn first as an orb around the tp, then as a full portal when you beat the boss.
Ah i see, sadly i died to the boss
Sad, but happens. Are you trying for anything in particular with that?
I want to unlock Mercenary
Nothing for it but to keep trying really, don't be afraid to try for other stuff while at it too, more characters and optons means it's easier and easier to eventually find something that clicks just right in such a way you can bast through to the portal.
What's the best way to get the Loader: Earthshatter acheivement?
If I bought the complete edition will I get the new dlc when out?
Which one was that?
land a charged gauntlet hit at 300mph or more
Do it from a swing, might need some movement items to further boost your speed.
You're gonna want to swing tarzan-style with loader anyways.
Yeah honestly you should just be in the habit of doing that anyway. Just grapple towards someone and then utility at full speed
Towards or using the speed from swinging of something, pretty sure the latter is faster even.
Time it right on a swing and you can fly across a whole stage in seconds.
I'm not a big fan of Loader so its pretty new to me. I'll try though, thanks
is there any point in me keeping this if im running single player
The faster you move, the more damage your utility skill does, and you don't need to worry about fall damage either.
The unmatched mobility and incredibly high burst damage makes them one of the best survivors in the game.
It should be healing you too, I believe.
And your drones and the like
didn't notice any healing unless its like a slight increase to base regen
Are engineer mobile turrets usable? Ive hesrd their bad but are they THAT bad?
They're pretty terrible
whats so bad about them other than the ai?
Oh yeah nvm, it only affects nearby players.
Engineer mobile turrets start out weaker than stationary turrets but they can still do work imo.
Mostly the ai meaning you can't put them in strategic positions they'll always be in the worst possible position combined with them being too slow to really follow you around so the whole benefit isn't a thing
I personally still prefer them. But I gotta admit they're garbage
in that case wouldn't it work on engineers turrets being like insanely op
I use them now and then and they work well, you do need mobility items though, specifically coffees and hooves as they don't count as sprint.
It works on drones and turrets and the like
Okay thank you ill try it
Mending elites can't heal other mending elites, so actually no.
damm thats annoying
They increase in speed with movement otems right?
Turrets don't inherit equipment though
Just items
Mobile turrets on engineer kinda demands you be more active in a fight yourself, but I think they're fun and solid, if overshadowed by the power of his stationary ones.
So they dont get increased crit and such from ocular hud?
Yeah you can make up for their issues they just need a lot of move speed and a lot more offensive power. I enjoy them
Idk the game should tell you that in the ability breakdowns
Pretty much, they start weaker but the ability to move makes them much more survivable late game since they don't just perish from being in a lingering aoe or the like, like from shrooms or those bouncing lunar orb enemies.
Been a while since i've played engi. He's way too hands-off and clunky for my taste
harpoons
i used to play engi when i was playing with alot of other people and was going for a chill long run
A little stronger iirc but they have shorter range.
It days ir shoots a laser but thats it iirc
harpoons are great and spider mines can just be used like any other burst damage ability
Seems fun for a more aggressive playstyle, ill try it out
mobile turrets are also more interactive since they will follow but you can replace dynamically to force them to retarget
Personally my main issue I have with engineer is his primary, I want it to be a passive charge with click to fire, rather than hold to charge and release to fire.
being able to charge while sprinting is a consolation but his m1 is eh
I wish it didnt stop u from sprinting to charge it even if u can js reclick it
very similar damage, slightly better proc per second, worse total damage proc dps for like atg
Yeah and he doesn't really have other attacks other than the alt utility so I can basically wait for the cooldown to fire four shots, or write a notarized letter politely requesting the enemies die, walk on down to the post office, send it out, and wait patiently for it to arrive
moving helps them dodge stuff like bells or mushrums or elder lems tho which end up basically shredding stationary turrets, even with bungus
harpoons are funny with the speed aim tech
Yeah those things kill stationary turrets a lot, especially shrooms as they don't need to be melee to do that.
Big imps can nuke them super fast too.
Does anyone know a fix to the stats being bugged. Not sure if it was because of my game crashing but right after I booted the game after I crashed for being too far it said I had picked 2000+ games of that character and died like 1000+ times
i like engi
i wish the normal mines were less terrible
Admittedly big imps can nuke mobile turrets too, they just have a chance to walk out of the attack before they're fully nuked.
Whats that?
if you just hold the aim reticle on a target it locks one by one, but if you move it off and back on it locks instantly. so you can wipe the aimer left and right over the enemy to lock all 4+ super fast
I wish the primary was less terrible. Honestly if he just had a primary that felt like I was playing the game he'd prob be my main
Well thats kind of the intent
His primary is supposed to be shitty so youre more reliant on the turrets
I understand the decision. I just also disagree with it
it makes engi surprisingly mobile in combat since you focus on movement, lock harpoons quick and then start charging m1 and sprinting, and then stop to shoot inbetween charges.
no mobi skill but you can keep moving a lot similar to huntress with low time spent attacking in each burst
I like engi primary
I think the main reason people dislike engi's primary is that it's a charge and release, it is just clunky.
charge + spread + not long range
Yeah it's just unpleasant to use
coupled with only decent damage, it just has a lot of individually eh traits which add to making it feel bad
i dont dislike it that much but i def get why a lot of people really dont like it
luckily replacing it with visions is lowkey optimal
longer range fixed that, homing fixes spread, and instead of charging actively its passive. + better dps for engi and turrets makes it really appealing
Yeah, but mainly the charge needing to be actively done, rather than something that happens passively.
Literally changing nothing but the charge from active to passive, and firing to click instead of release, would make it less clunky to use.
At least then it goes from a meh attack you need to commit to well in advance to a meh attack you can just... use.
i dont mind it that much
how do i decide which mercenary skills to select, and how do i play merc in later stages (besides the obvious things like staying mobile and all that)
especially since in active combat thats basically how it works, and part of the design is being less reactive compared to basically almost everything being reactive
all of his skills are good, especially slicing winds. theres a guide pinned here, its kinda old but still pretty good since merc hasnt really changed
this
i used to play merc a lot years ago on the switch tho i always used eviscerate for the invuln
thats totally fair. evis is pretty solid
Merc's default utility can do up to 3 dashes, combine that with his default ult and you have 4 combat dashes that allow you to get in, wreak havoc for a moment then escape.
his whle kit is just good which is nice
the huge CDR from slicing winds also lets you spam the util dashes really hard
yea m1 transfer is really cool
its funny, attack speed can be a slight hindrance since it makes that harder and too high makes it impossible
idk if its enough to avoid it but def makes it worth not prioritizing
when do i want to dash? when the attack just begins winding up?
Yea, as long as the third swing starts it should resolve
You'll get a feel for it, its not toooo hard
👍
does "slamming" from the merc guide still work?
From what I've heard from the community, it's possible but basically patched out since the gearbox updates reworked physics
Trimping is also strange now, you take damage sometimes
kccdownpatcher is a mod that (mostly) reverts the physics though, if you would want that
Ive not been in the ror2 space for a while whats alloyed collective?
Upcoming DLC that was announced after the third SOTS patch
They talk about it a bit in this dev diary, their general upcoming plans.
#announcements message
Your player stats getting fucked over is just kinda a rite of passing
Happens to everyone eventually
Profile? Yeah. RealerCheatUnlocks let's you unlock and lock stuff
As for profile it doesn't really matter. The logbook barely works anyway lol
I have 2 separate beetle entries in the profile stats lmao
That thing is held together by duct tape and some of the pages fly out sometimes
I have 2 commandos in my playtime
Oh also
That and for some reason Enforcer appears there when you don't have the mod, because they never removed him or something from that
Yeah cuz it randomly gave me 2000 character picked for enginneer and also 1000+ deaths
Not really my player stats bugging out but I once somehow got to level 95 and the stats are keeping that tracked
Normally when you restart your game it might fix
So thats a rarity im proud of having
The max is 94 right? Didn't some guy get to 96 once?
Yeah
Do not fucking ask me why you can sometimes just
Go past integer limit??????
My game crashed i was at stage 40 and when i rebooted the stats was like that
And i had like less than 10 picked for engineer but now its 2000
i mean console and PC handle int limits very differently from what I've seen, so I doubt it would go a level higher on both
No no the level cap on console is 94 too
That could just be from trying to write data and getting interrupted from the crash, or it might just fix itself in the future
I somehow just....... surpassed it in one run
Yeah, but the int limits are handled different. Console overflows for HP display -/- while PC is -intlimit/-intlimit
But is there a way to change player stats? Cuz i only need to change engineer pick and deaths im pretty sure
Hm yeah fair enough
Be proud of your fucked stats imo
I don't think there would be a way unless the save file editor website has that or if it's in the text file.
Everyone's profiles break in their own special way
Yeah I suppose so 😭
It would be kind of useless if the editor had that though, so your best bet might be the text file. Even then, doubtful
Yeah its probably fine ill be used to seeing engineer as my “top picked”
Yeah somehow preon has been my "favourite" equipment ever since before sotv
I do not know how I racked up such a high use time on it and I doubt its 100% real
You COULD start a new profile and RealerCheatUnlocks what you had unlocked
Yeah that's true
I should probably be abit more careful on what items i have when playing on higher stages
I think it was brilliant beheamoth that caused me to crash or probably fireworks
First I've heard of those causing crashes then really.
What else did you have? Equipment especially.
I don't use equipments tbh I have credit card or scanner just to get as many items as possible
I had 1000+ items so might be something else but in my 0fps screen I saw lots of rockets which i think is beheamoth im not sure
Oh i do think that many items contributed to my crash
I think that's less the items and more just you being so late in a run that crashing was basically inevitable.
Idk it happened when I attacked a bunch of enemies, of course it hadnt happened the previous stage so you migth be correct
hi, is there another part of the stone in Sirens call that tells you the combination to the giant portal in stage 5?
I can show you the screenshot i took while "crashing"
My guess is it was an overload of effects and something tipped you over the edge.
1000+ items, AoE, probably a lot of proc, id say you crashed off of whatever you started spawning from them
Merf, atg, stickies, etc
because i've been looking for it but cant find it
Yeah I had lots of things that can cause crash, of course I tried removing things that could prevent crash a little bit more but I do think it was a bit dumb of me since i had lots of stickies
is there any items in particular i should avoid when doing long runs or is there any vanilla friendly QOL mods that could help with prevent crashes?
I do have a lot of fun, a lot more than usual when doing long runs, it's just something about being really OP and demolishing everything yk turning off my brain for a moment
Will there ever be crossplay in ror2?
You can turn off money effects, lower corpse count, and avoid items that spawn things to improve performance
No
They haven't said anything about it and I dont think they plan on it
damn
I've done the first 2 things of course but wondering if there's any items you can think of that I can just write down (of course you dont need to I can figure it out myself) thank you anyways
Merf is particularly bad, stickies spawn stuff and they stick around for a while, ATG...
Polylute and uke could lower performance a bit, it's just generally proc items
Not including status proc, like bleed, since they dont really spawn anything
ICBM is bad for lag if you have any missile items
Oh yeah, especially fireworks
bandolier and ghors tome can also be bad at later stages when you are always killing a million enemies
Okay let me write what I had when crashing
Unless you're planning to do 3+ hour looping runs or something, you're probably never going to need to worry about that anyways.
I was at 5 hours
so I am doing that 😭
You could send a screenshot, you just need a role
What role cuz i was able to screenshot while at 0fps and crashing
Any role
any role
hey lads, I was aiming for stage 8 to obliterate myself for the survivor but the run is working really good, is there anything else thats higher stage that I could go for to unlock?
oh gosh
you can also go for artifacts every 5 stages
Here's the screenshot before I crashed I see I had many items that could cause lag, but I do think because i was so far has something to do with my crash since I've had these items for a while
You'll have to do it again though. 20 stages as commando with no lunars for one of his unlocks
So if you would want to knock those both out at once instead, it would be understandable
yeah it's definitely the ATG and ICBM LOL
it’s icbm
it looks like a sparkler
you can literally see it in the photo LOL
Yeah I was sure it was the stupid rockets
I love the icbm but it haaaaaates my computer lol
Merf is such a strong item, with good proc chains it melts the enemies and your pc
Though I havent had a problem with it until this stage, but maybe I can get further without the rockets, still a silly screenshot so worth the crash
you also have 5 clovers so pretty much everything is spawning 3 atg rockets
that’s a recipe for disaster
Oh I think that's the reason I crashed
I was at the bazaar right before and i got myself 3 clovers
whoops
Clover is probably the bigger issue than the atgs
Hit procs uke procs atg a bunch procs a billion merfs, each meatball procs atgs on every enemy in range
realistically, it’s the combination of everything
Honestly 5 full hours of ramping is gonna crash most games that allow that much ramping
Like proc chains can already get laggy but clover increases that exponentially
Yeah but you have to understand i've had those atgs and icmbs for so long so i think it was the clovers that hit the final strike in the coffin
or vice versa, either way your game is GONE
Proc chains are too strong
Eventually you could just stop picking up items. MOST enemies will stop scaling
Probably both LOL
The exceptions being bosses and void rats for some reason
whats that? '
ohhh yeah
If atg procs a sticky which procs a uke...
Well I should probably write down what not to use but it was a fun experience nonetheless and if you ask me, an amazing screenshot
Sticky wont chain, but atg, uke, both perfs, and meathook will
I think it's less what not to use and more if you spend 5 straight ours pressing as hard as possible on the limits of a game, it's gonna crash
Really? Could've swore sticky had like a 0.2 or 0.5...
Nop, just a payload
boomerang is gonna proc a crap ton too
White chain item would be breaking
1.0 proc co babyyyy
Oh right new ones
Boomerang is amazing. And runic resets the mask so it's very very funny with clovers
i appreciate the help though, making me understand the cause of the crash and what I can do to prevent it
Why does the smiling mask need reset?
Oh no i meant the proc chain mask
I also lost another 5 hour run because I went into bulwarks armbry and it was the chaos one :(
Yeah, ATG can proc Runic can proc ATG can proc Runic
When a chain is happening, things cant proc twice down the tree. So if a bit procs atg, then the atg procs a uke, that specific uke proc cannot proc atg. And neither can its children
They can proc multiple times side by side just each individual branch cant dupe, except runic meteor because oops
Alright I'm confused now it sounds like this is getting into the math under the hood that I made it 1000 hours and basically every unlock into this game without learning and won't learn now. Because I am a spiteful [the rules hinted that swearing might be an issue but weren't clear so I'm just gonna not]
Doesn't have to be the math necessarily, just like if you proc a ukulele, each individual bounce would have a chance to proc atg, but if it did those atgs couldn't proc uke again
It does hace pseudo-icd tho since only one meteor can exist at a time
I think the next time I plan to go for that long I'll pick up whatever until stage 30+ ish maybe 35 then scrap the atgs and uke and such just to try prevent a crash
If it didn't, with clover it would absolutely be a crash machine by creating infinite loops
Cause 50% coeff too lmao
swearing is so fucking fine as long as you’re not rude about it (swearing at people) 👍
If swearing wasn't allowed then half the people in this server would be banned lol
Alright cool in that case I refuse to learn math because I'm a spiteful bitch lol
Including me
If swearing in general was banned I would be dead 20 times over
how does ProperSave work when you crash? could that be good to use when doing long runs?
oooooh yea I’ve got a lot of swears here lmao
It saves at the start of every stage and you can resume from that point
Okay could be smart to use, especially in figuring out what causes crashes
thank you
Can you not get False Son: High Protein Diet if command is on? Did a command/sacrifice run and got over 40 stacks but nothing came of it
You need 44, the 4 you start with don't count
Or backup mags
DANG I got 43
Thanks, also I figured I got that far with infusion, steak, and stone flux
Yeah, stone flux pulls a lot of weight for that challenge
hey. im new to the game and have been trying out different survivors and am really enjoying the arteficer. any tips on how to really make them start doing damage? cause i really want to beat the game on rainstorm difficulty. but get apsolutly dunked within the first few worlds each time
Play fast, grab items as quick as you can and don’t be afraid to move on if you can’t grab everything. Also with artificer specially finding some high ground to float above enemies helps and your secondary does quite a bit of damage
Think 2 steps ahead, your cds are a bitch but once you get the hang of that she's super powerful
she's a burst survivor so you really just wanna be cycling through her abilities
Make sure you're full looting every stage and getting as many items as possible
(She's my main for when I actually want to play instead of just going "Unga bunga winning fun")
And yeah, keep rotating her skills, don't just rely on her primary
Also, do yall have tips for False Son: Family Bonding? Final boss spoilers: ||By that point it’s hard to not either instakill Mythrix yourself or just die to him||
oki, i will try, with her primary, would you guys recomend the fire or plasma bolts. and with special would you recomend her flamethrowers or the ion surge
fire def but flamer for dps, surge for movement
I personally prefer fire and ion surge but it’s really up to you
What’s the strat for scorched earth
anytime stranger, happy dying
I genuinely thought I had it in the bad but the most I could do was 70k with like 30 crowbars, 10 glasses, and the red item that makes grits do 100%+

lads does the golden chest spawn every 4/8/12 and so on stages?
Abyssal depths and sundered grove always do, and sirens has the boss
Hit crowds
It’s total damage? damnn
It's 500k% total not to one target so if you just get like 50 wisps with it, you get it p much instantly
Gotcha
Well, total in one blast. But yeah just catch 50 wisps in one blast
Yeah it kinda just happened on its own once I looped
Still need help
treat him like voidling
just go to bed
Wdym?
What’s the chance for a legendary chest to spawn? I just found one on stage 5
Guaranteed on stage 4, p rare outside of that
Guys what items would help boost seekers second utility ability
It says I stay on flight as long as I have a barrier? So does that mean I have to stack items that give barrier or…?
meditate first
do soldiers syringes increase attack speed for beam item?
Beam item?
uncorrupted drown yes
i dont think it affects corrupted drown
Yeah i'm pretty sure corrupted is already an instance of damage per tick so the game can't really go faster
alright thanks
Gametime isn't tick based
I'VE BEEN LIED TO
It's frame based, using delta time to make it not tied to your actual frame rate
it kind of feels like the beam goes faster but im not sure i want some confirmation
Damage does tick but it can tick faster or slower depending on code
i.e blue oil pools tick twice as fast
for most constant damage abilities (including corrupted drown) attack speed increases the ticks per second of the attack
so it DOES increase dps?
this is also how it effects saw blade for MULT and Flamethrower for arti
yep!
oh cool
how many times should I loop as commander in multiplayer wth 1 friend
?
To accomplish what?
is it by design that by turning on both dlc's you almost dont see anything of SOTV
I'm kinda confused about how the path of the colossus works... Is prime medirian always before stage 4? And do I have to go to the other alternate stages to fight false son?
Use a halcyon beacon to open a green protal that will start the path of the colossus, take the green portal at that level to continue it, take the green portal from that next level to get to prime meridian
Shop usually has geodes you can destroy to get a portal straight to prime meridian
I like reformed altar but treeborn colony feels like it has barely any loot for a stage 3 and sometimes printers spawn in unusable locations. I would prefer to avoid that map
Halcyon beacons on stages 4 and 5 take you to the gilded coast instead for reasons
Oh yeah I hate that map it's a pain in the ass to get around in, it's got hardly any loot, it's only got the most annoying enemies, and half the loot falls off the map. If you want to skip it destroy all the geodes in the shop for a green portal straight to the prime meridian
How likely are the geodes to appear? Are they guaranteed?
Pretty sure they're guaranteed except on stage 4 and 5 shops but I never really looked into it I don't much like the path of the colussus so I just don't do it
I'm getting my skins unlocks so I have to kill false son a bunch of times
Oh yeah those were a pain
Yeah, they always spawn on viable stages, but they won't appear if you've visited path of the colossus already
Part of the reason I feel like I'm struggling so much with him is that stage 3 is too early. It would be much easier to do it after stage 4
You don't have to start the path from stage 1
the later you start the path the shorter it is. you always encounter him on stage 4 of a loop regardless of when you start the path
So if I enter a green portal at stage 3, is it prime meridian already or is there another stage in between?
you go directly to meridian from there
granted I believe halcyon shrines become notably less common the further you go from stage 1, but Gilded Coast is an easy way to hop back on the path
Is it possible to fight false son after stage 4 without looping?
I'd say if you're looking to be better prepared for him, do Void Fields to completion and visit Gilded Coast as many times as possible before you reach him
(though you'd probably skip the golden geodes halcyon seeds, just get the small chest items)
Don't pick up the halcyon seed though, unless you're trying to unlock false son
-# that's what I meant by golden geodes, I'm just stupid
I was about to say, geodes are kinda required lol
False son is gonna be a pain. I had a broken seeker build that shredded through everything but false son still took forever to kill. I guess there's no easy way out
Special scaling + adaptive armor will do that
Unless you loop a lot, final bosses are always gonna be tanky
I don't feel like mithrix is particularly tanky, but maybe I'm just much more used to the fight
The easy way out might honestly be getting the hang of the fight so you can consistently do it without needing a broken run
The problem is getting speed and a few opals
They feel similar to me but I usually go straight to him from stage 1
I think FS does actually have more health
I find fs to be over fairly quickly
Though that may just be from me never getting bored during it because I have to pay attention the entire time
Yeah true, I actually have to stay awake while fighting fs lol
||Still don’t know what this means and I’m at Mythrix. Mostly afraid that he’s gonna kill Aurelionite before she can do anything.||
Auri usually survives as long as you poke mithrix a bit to get some items back, but if you're really worried you can just use woodsprite
The hard part is not accidentally killing mithrix yourself
I think doing a long god run was also a mistake probably, gets too strong and just kills me haha
Yeah I wouldn't recommend that lol
Treat it like the other "kill mithrix with X" challenges, don't let yourself get too strong and avoid procs and stuff that could steal the kill
Gotcha
can also give Auri some more dps, preferably on an equipment drone for more uptime
Also thanks
Or if you can confidently handle it
The reward is rly good
well they said they were just going for skins I think, so I assume they were gonna end the run after
My friend thought you both needed the halcyon seed and to beat him on monsoon to get meridian skins
yeah no
bro did not read the unlock requirement
you just need to kill false son
once you beat him you get the skin
killing him on monsoon is only necessary if you want to end the run and get the mastery skin early
Yeah I told him
how do you get past stage 5?
Through the teleporter
You can activate the prongs around it before using the teleporter to loop or not to not
you mean looping?
Either interact with the prong things around the teleporter's edge before activating it, or leave through any other portal besides the teleporter
or do you mean just beating it in general
Oh yeah the teleporter's a different shape with like 8 broad flattish prongs instead of the 2, grey instead of black and.... a different color I actually don't know what it changed to or from I'm colorblind
What color are the teleporter motes normally and what color are the primordial teleporter motes?
and it emits blue particles instead of orange
IM TRYNA UNLOCK THE CHARACTER WITH THE OBLISQUE
mb caps
Orange! Oh! Cool! I thought they were yellow
yeah, for that you need to loop
Yeah you're gonna wanna use the prongs on the primordial teleporter to loop then just go through the celestial portal when that sentence makes sense
remember to do this BEFORE you activate it, it's locked in once it starts charging
im so confused lemme js get to stage 5 rq
by default the stage 5 teleporter always takes you to the final boss, but if you realign it first (or leave through a different portal) you can loop and keep doing more stages
ohhh alright so ima have to find a different portal to loop?
well no, you can do it with the normal teleporter or a portal
No. You can or you can press e on the things surrounding the regular teleporter before starting the boss
there are multiple ways of doing it
Just press e on those things Fax is pointing at before pressing e on the actual teleporter and you'll loop
how do i get out of bulwarks ambry if i dont have movement speed and feathers
i think im stuck
there should be jump pads somewhere to get up to the portal
I mean, it should always be reachable somehow
nvm i found it it was hidden somewhere lol
Stage 5s will always have the portal machine for getting relics too, so that is another option, though better just to do it when you're wanting to grab a relic or something.
what the better m1 for the bandit?
They're pretty well-made and even, playstyle thing
shotgun is arguably a little better but both are alright, it's up to preference
the rifle has infinite range and better proc potential, but it's more of a midrange playstyle and you sacrifice some burst dps
Honestly it's always best to just try out all the options and find out what works for you, even if one's just unbelievably shit it's helpful to know why it's shit so you can understand the game better, and meta isn't some magic spell that makes The One True Build instantly suited to every player. Feel around, you'll find out what you like and get a better idea for why you like it which will also help you get better at the game. That understanding will do more for you than your ability choice
how do i clear the "New!" notification on my settings tab on the main menu idk what to do
they are modded characters but more of a general question, there are people who are obviously proc based and ones who are damage based. The problem is when you have a survivor that does do a crazy amount of dmg, like 1000% dmg for example but also doesnt attack fast enough to be a proc survivor? Only base game ones that come to mind are really chef and merc (and bandit if u dont have desperado like my friends)
What's the question?
so how do you get past level 5?
ah mb, like how do u choose to go for proc or dmg build? rn the survivor im playing is movement based with quick-ish attacks but its more like an attack that heals themselves and applies a dot, so not crazy dmg or attack speed 🤷♂️
The teleporter
like the one under the map?
either find a portal or interact with the primordial teleporter to align with the planet instead of the moon
No there's a teleporter like in every other level, but this one is grey instead of black and surrounded by blue particles instead of orange one
or go to bulwarks through the artifact portal (under the map for meadows and above the map for hatchery)
that will unlock an artifact depending on what code u put it but will loop your run (go back to lvl 1 stages but its lvl 6 and u get back to the boss on stage 11)
they r lowk hidden sometimes
ohhh alright im trying to find it
if i have 10 crit goggles on bandit will i still do more dmg from behind an enemy or no
Are you trying to loop or just get the mithrix?
I don't think that crit goggles will impact your crit damage at all, you always have 100% crit chance from back with bandit so it shouldn't make any difference
im trying to get to the oblisque
To obliterate? then you want to loop
yeah and ok
Most proc items deal total damage, meaning it's a % of the damage your attack dealt, so your fire rate isn't necessarily as important as your overall DPS. So proc builds tend to work on basically anyone, the only time fire rate really matters is with a bleed build
Although I'm assuming the survivor you're referring to is Acrid, who's kind of a special case since they have the option to go all in on poison if they want. In that case depending on your playstyle you could go for passive damage multipliers (such as
etc) that'll just boost poison, or if you play him more aggressive you can lean into procs and stuff more
Just find that grey teleporter and interact with the ring outside of it, the chat should say "the teleporter aligns with the planet" or something similar, then when you activate and defeat the boss you'll loop to stage 1 (lvl 6)
bandit's backstabs are just treated like normal crits, lensmakers glasses won't affect them at all
I believe what you are looking for is the celestial portal, it should appear on stage 3 of the loop (lvl9) but someone lemme know if im wrong
it'll be stage 8 but yeah
my math sucks 😭 yeah 5+3 is 8 whoops
nah im playing a modded sorcerer char that does 200% dmg for main attack or a charge up 1400% that is rlly risky for skill (special is like a better merc anime slash combo thing)
if you're having trouble finding it you can turn on teleporter particle scaling in settings, it's on the first page under that umbrella settings thing, along with some other QoL stuff
(I highly recommend turning on inspect items too btw)
i found it js fighting it
i understand it now
yea lol
i have both of those on
what yo i never knew this, i just use a mod that shows the portal with an outline 😭
hopefully you rotated so that it loops before fighting boss?
what stage is the oblisque btw i js went through the porta;
uhhh did u loop 😭
it's always the 3rd stage of every loop, so it'll first appear on stage 8
should be 8, you'll loop to stage 1 and itll spawn on stage 3
i dont think so but its ok
Go through the celestial portal on stage 8
are you on commencement or back on stage 1?
You asked all this earlier, might be a good idea to scroll back up to that so you can read through that again
commencement
yeah you didn't loop, rip
yo that particle scaling is so sick W
so how do i loop?
commencement is a dead end
Scroll up, you asked this just a bit ago
u can only loop on stage 5 🙏 its joever
^
we just explained it 😭
u gotta press the teleporter before activating it
im still confsued you said go through portal so i did😭
interact with ring on the outside and check to make sure in chat it says the teleporter switched to planet alignment THEN fight the boss and continue through tp
We already explained this starting here
Just get back to zone 5 and then read through this carefully
ohhhh
what itemns should i get to help me survive
Prob some healing
potion (white item) and that triangle (help i forgot its name, its a green item)
ok, so teleporter and portal are not the same thing:
The teleporter is the main thing that you normally interact with to go to the next stage.
If you want to loop using the teleporter on stage 5, you have to realign the prong things around its edge BEFORE activating it.
Portals are like the round blue thing you'd go through to get to the bazaar or whatever, basically anything that takes you to another stage that isn't a teleporter. If you're on stage 5 and use a portal, it will always loop, regardless of what state the teleporter is in.
It doesn't matter which way you do it, the only thing NOT to do is go through the teleporter without realigning it first
they've got max crit and 4 scythes on captain, I'd say they're good on healing
and 2 leech seeds lol
doing their best
plasma shrimp is nice because it gives a 10% max hp shield i think?
plus a lot of damage
honestly I'd just grab an atg or something, you're already in a good spot survival-wise
so i have to move the things before even activating it?
can't go wrong with atgs
yep, once you activate it, it's locked in.
But if you do forget to change it, you can always use the artifact portal instead (if you know what that is)
Oh yeah I missed the glasses
its like transdimentional smth smth 🔥
yeah i didnt even know there was any other portal than that one
the artifact protal is the 'underneath the map' one
yeah, if you're on sky meadow it's the huge machine on the platform under the map
yeah thats wat am saying i didnt know there was any other portal than the artifact portal
or at the very top of the map on helminth hatchery
unstable transmitter, thats the weird triangle. Procs at low health to give a barrier
but the one u went through 😭 also how do u get that tag thing next to ur name
its part of servers
gold portal from a gold shrine or halcyon beacon, newt alter gives blue portal, and the artifact portal are all options to loop
newt and artifact are always 100% chance to spawn, gold is just if you get lucky
then you go to edit profile and there should be an option to add it to yourself
is there some way to make environment logs spawn more, I know artifact of command + sacrifice remove a lot of the ground loot which I've heard helps, but other than that is there anything i can do?
Multiplayer
50% more stuff per player, otherwise the only way is the artifact thinning
Multiplayer actually does! okay thats good to know, the only time I've found them recently is when playing with a friend and i didn't know why. Thanks
Yup! If you've got a friend that helps a good bit
i js got desperado is it better than lights out?
generally yeah
light's is fun but it scales really poorly
and desperado is really good
Unfortunately yea
does obliteration count as a death in the logbook
pretty sure it doesn't
im trying to 100% deathless
just got 1 tapped from max health wtf 😭 i was versing 3 beetle guards how is that even possible
yeah, I think so
probably two or three of them hit you at the same time
first time getting to the secret place from the beads but how do i get out? 😭
oh nvm it just fades to black
how do i use classes with melee primaries?
i unlocked loader a couple days ago and haven't touched it since
Ironically the trick with mercenary and loader is to use their utility more than their primary
False son is an exception to the "melees that are actually midranged" rule because he can just tank shit
Loader focuses mainly on her grapple + punch combo since it does insane damage if you build up speed, m1 also allows you to build barrier or kill lighter enemies without wasting cooldowns
The key with any melee survivor is making use of their mobility as much as possible. Don't just walk up to an enemy and slap them in the face over and over
(except false son, kinda)
Merc has tons of iframes on his dashes and default special, and a built-in cooldown reduction mechanic. He thrives when fighting in dense crowds of enemies where he can expose multiple enemies with his sword and then follow up with another skill, doing extra damage and potentially instantly negating its cooldown so you can attack even more. If played right he basically gets stronger the more overwhelmed he is
Loader is basically a ranged character but you play as the projectile, most of the time you'll wanna be grappling as much as possible and building up speed for her charged punch. Pylon lets her take care of fodder enemies and gives her some extra movement options and her primary lets her build up barrier and deal decent damage, but the grapple+punch combo is really the core of her kit and her mobility makes her practically untouchable
Faxmachine are you sure you're not a factsmachine
no I'm just a massive nerd lmao
so real, i dont even play ror2 that often but i have so many random things memorized
alloyed collective is gonna bring me back in fr
Fucking real actually
How many tri tip daggers do i need for 100% crit rate
tri tip daggers do not crit
Ment the glasses
Hello, just started playing ror2 and unlocked this loader survivor. I looked up some tutorials but im still struggling to get the correct combos down (idk if im doing it correctly even).
When we use ANY abilities (grapple, charged punch), the sprint resets, and so i was wondering what is the ideal order of button presses? When we grapple and sprint right after, and decide to charge, wouldn't sprint reset and we lose a lot of momentum right after?
Whats a easy way to do bandit sadist???
Well, sprinting doesn't actually really matter when grappling due to its physics being different from normal movement, and most movement abilities (including charged punch) are always treated as sprinting by default.
But if you do want to learn her movement betterm I recommend this, basically loader 101 https://youtu.be/zeRRJGfzuSw?si=6d02KEHvHaAiswBx
Hey guys, I hope this video helps. Here are the timestamps
0:23 Basic hook mechanics
0:52 Skating
1:46 Advanced hook
2:36 Trimping
3:23 Punching
it doesn't go into any advanced tech, but it's short and covers all the necessary basics
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUOyH66_050 i watched this one and this one said sprinting after grappling is crucial
also, a dark secret about loader: movement speed barely matters at all for her, because grappling doesn't scale with it and instead gives constant acceleration in the direction you're holding. And charged punch inherits all of that momentum, so speed is basically negligible- she's one of the few characters that can get away with taking
yeah, I think that's sort of a myth that's been busted now
damn
but sprinting after grappling has some uses right? like being able to travel further
or does it literally not matter
All it really does is enable items like rose buckler to work while grappling
damn i just tested charged with and without sprinting and it does same damge
that video is very much outdated huh
yeah, the gauntlet itself is always treated as sprinting so it doesn't matter in that case. But sprinting isn't super important for grappling afaik
???
i felt like i was travelling faster and further by grappling then sprinting.. guess that was just a feeling
stab alloy worship unit a bunch, backup mags help but aren't required
that's pretty much it
yup, that's where the myth came from... sprinting zooms your camera fov out a tiny bit which kinda gives the illusion that you're going faster, but you're actually not
it might slightly affect air control but I'm not actually sure on that. The most important thing it does is just activate stuff like

(which is still worth it, those items are great)
wait does that also mean grapple+charged is same dmg as just charged?
*oh yeah, aurelionite also works, you just need a tanky boss that'll survive long enough to get 20 stacks
no, the speed built up from grapple DOES carry over to charged punch
punch damage is based on your current velocity, not your actual speed stat
momentum stronk
why do i feel like my grapple doesnt extend that long and its so slow
skilldiff i guess
yep, this is what peak loader looks like, literally. I think the clip is from Jazzboat, who used to be the server's resident loader expert but he hasn't been around in a while
the grapple can actually stretch for unlimited distance, you just need to build up so much speed that you're moving faster than it can pull you back to the hook point
also one more question, does sprinting and jumping right before engaging grapple matter?
he's using a tech here where you charge up a punch, use thunderslam (alt special), and then let go of the punch aiming downward so the slam's speed gets added to the punch
should i take this?
a little bit yeah, you'll enter the grapple with a bit more speed
yeah, shrimp is good
as long as you're able to keep your shields up pretty consistently
I've had that happen before, and with 2 tricorns lying on the stage
blazing xi construct.
oof
literally the only boss I wouldn't have been at least okay with lmao
hopefully your luck is better than mine
better than xi at least
Can i get bandit sadist on newt
theoretically yes but it's a pain in the ass and not worth the effort
once he takes enough damage you only have a few seconds before he teleports you out of the shop, and he starts with 500,000hp and 50% damage resistance and scales up from that (and you do have to kill him for it to count)
trust me, alloy worship unit or aurelionite are way, way easier
I didnt get alloy worship in my run
you could try again on the next loop, or just reset
if you go to the bazaar from stage 3 you can use lunar seers to pick siren's call
not 100% guaranteed to be there but it improves your odds a lot
Also how many back up mags should i get
doesn't really matter, technically you don't need any
hemorrhage lasts 15s and resets when you add a new stack like bleed, so getting 20 stacks is easy. The hard part is just finding a boss that can tank the damage for long enough
i got a billion backup mags 1st stage and then just stabbed the boss 20 times in a row :D
this makes enemies bleed
this crits
