Thunderstore is the best place to get mods, it's safe to use and it's where most people upload them.

yes, but generally any mod that affects gameplay will require everyone in the lobby to be running the same mods. (look for a 'clientside' tag on the mod page, those ones don't need to be shared)

r2modman has an option in settings to export your mod profile as a file or code, so you can share it with friends and let them easily download the exact same ones

does anyone know the code of the game very well? When you load into a run is it a single set seed, or does it create a seed everytime you load into a new level? Additionally I assume environment logs are seeded since they are a spawnable, but is there a limit or any requirements for monster logs?

I spent 3 hours on a run with the artifact to make enemies drop items + 2x the enemy because i was hunting for enemy logs, but after looking it up it seemed like it possibly wouldn't be able to drop with 2x enemy? But other people said it could still drop with artifact of command. Im just really confused on an efficient way to get logs, ive spent about 5 hours now over 2 runs without a single environment or monster log, first run was 3 hours with those artifacts, and im now on a run with zero artifacts medium difficulty since i thought easy and artifacts might affect the drops/spawns

I’m literally wondering the same thing. Maybe you could use some of the Artifacts, like Command or Sacrifice for items, or maybe Swarm for more gold to open chests sooner. You could also use that one Artifact that saves an item for a new run and just get a really good item to start with.

i just got the 500000% sojourn challenge done from a 25 min run (hopefully others can find this through the search bar):

• played on drizzle w/ command (though honestly probably monsoon is better because you want the enemies to have more health)
• 1 planula, 1 shaped glass, couple repulsion armor plates makes you immune to the first 10s of self damage (plus glass boosts your damage of course), but the more armor plates the better. they're the main stacking item to keep you alive since healing turns off after 10s. open an equipment barrel, grab a trophy hunter's tricorne, & blow up the stage boss to get planulas
• aegis lets you build up a barrier from planula healing though it will begin falling off same time as the healing stops at 10s
• 10 crit glasses & as many laser scopes as you can get
• QoL: lysate cells & 2+ light flux pauldrons. leftclick is pointless for this
• crowbars are good for this, but you need a beefy enemy able to withstand your orbs for a while, and then have several other enemies in your explosion radius when you detonate it for crowbar to help
• with 10 repulsion plates, 10 crit glasses, 2 wungus, an aegis, a shaped glass, 8 crowbars, & a laser scope, i got it against the solus control unit on the first loop by detonating right before it would've died. don't know how many small enemies were in the radius when i blew up the boss, but my highest damage dealt for the run was 250k implying there were probably 2-3 enemies i hit at the same time

I dont believe so, the challenge specifically states "As False Son, gain up to 40 lunar spikes through Growth", so it shouldn't count for using backup mags, only for spikes obtained with his growth passive

Using meditate at full stacks gives you healing and explodes nearby enemies, you wont stack any extra tranquility past 7 and only 1 saving grace per stage, so you will not continue to get stat increases but its still free healing and damage in a radius

if you are talking about alt special, i have not tried it yet but I believe it works the same way, once you max out stats the hand should deal damage + heal allies but shouldn't provide any more buffs for the stage

yeah im also curious about this, what exactly counts as airborne? should i be using fin for it? I assume all flying enemies should count as airborne, although in some games airborne is a special status effect given to things that have been hit into the air. Could you try with primordial cube pulling some ground enemies up? (i might try this sometime tmrw if i have the time)

Does anyone have info on how to get environment/monster logs, is it determined when you start the run how many you can get and which type? is it truly random? I've done multiple hour long runs looping through 20+ stages without finding a single log and i barely have any stages logs so almost every stage should've had a chance to spawn them

i assume you got lowered too much in one hit because of the shrine of blood

if you sacrifice 90% of your hp, technically you will go below 25 and activate unstable transmitter but you'll go way below since its all in one blow, so you'll still be low enough to break your watchs (same happened to me on long runs where I would have healing potions, unstable transmitter, and other low health instant heal items but id get hit with one really big hit and lose all my watches before the items could kick in)

actually the wiki says potion and transmitter should have prio when lowered below 25% health, but it does say praying at a shrine of blood can break them instantly

I am actually curious, the wiki says the watch breaks at 25% max health including shields, but doesn't specify that for potion or transmitter, so if you have a decent sized shield could you break your watches without activating those items?

shield is taken into account for all of the low health items

and transmitter/elixir should still take priority over watch even at a blood shrine, unless this is some jank new interaction I'm not aware of

I'm actually not sure how transmitter's protection works in the first place. Elixir protects watch because it pops first, so by the time it's watch's turn to break, elixir has already healed you above 25%.
But from my testing, watch doesn't care about barrier, only health and shield, so transmitter protecting it may just be a weird hard-coded thing that doesn't always work

aside from that, stock up on damage items, stay in sojourn for a while, and explode on a large group of enemies

500,000% is a lot so expect to stay in sojourn for like 20-30s for it even later in the run

I'd recommend going to the bazaar, then altar using the mini geodes in the bazaar, then proceed to treeborn and if theres a gold shrine, halcyon shrine with gold orb or gilded coast seer at any point in that route use it to get to coast and then just rush regular stages until you get to the moon

It is rng but getting auri like this shouldnt take too long

Alternatively if you wanna be absolutely sure you can get a halcyon seed, beat false son and then put the halcyon seed in the shrine of rebirth so you immediately have it at the start of your next run

If you plan on using command I recommend avoiding damage items except for on kill items, focus crystal (since you can stay away from mithrix during phase 4 to not get the damage boost) and luminous shot

Luminous shot especially is an amazing damage item that you can choose to not use in phase 4 because it activates on primary hits

basically: the more hp you spikes you have, the more hp thats required for the next spike

the best way to get his secondary is to just use longstanding solitude, get some roll of pennies, and get 2-3 stoneflux

its why flat hp items dont work very well

they fall off in scaling very fast

but % hp items keep up with scaling extremely well and longstanding solitude pretty much turbocharges your % hp items

nah thats cap, you can always improve. i will say sometimes it doesn't feel possible in rogue like games, I feel like i suck at binding of isaac and hades, I used to think i was really bad at ror2 and sometimes it still feels like i do just because i overextend the run and get 1 tapped or just items, but trust you will improve, esp with ror2 its lots of game knowledge and character knowledge. You can learn how things interact, what items ruin a character and what items are a must, you can even play artifact of command if you want to remove the luck aspect of it and just make builds (although after a few it becomes a bit easy because with perfect builds a lot of the characters can close to onetap bosses)

As the passive states, if you have spikes stored you gain attack speed and armor, if you have spiked on cooldown you gain movement speed and regen

The lunar ruin debuff from the spikes is also a very useful tool to get rid of strong enemies quickly

Yup its 10% more damage taken per stack

Although it also has a hidden secondary effect

Do not ask me why it exists or isnt mentioned anywhere but the debuff has a small dot that will hit for like 1 damage every few seconds

So enemies with shield wont regenerate their shield until the debuff runs out

And if its applied to you you also dont receive your out of danger effects until its gone

omg also i have confirmed monster logs can drop with artifact of command, although i still have yet to figure out if they are seeded (ie you can only find x amount per run, or you are locked out of certain ones when the run is generated) and i still have no clue how to get envinronment logs fast, but its good to know that you can probably stack some clovers and do a super long run farming a certain enemy in theory

The way I tend to play false son is that I stay at a medium distance and go into melee range when theres a window of opportunity to damage enemies

At least for the harder enemies

False son can mow through hordes of smaller enemies with the slam

My focus shifts to applying lunar ruin while its unsafe to get up close and then use that punish window to hit for big damage while the lunar ruin is still applied

I'd say the alts are fairly balanced to their regular counterparts except for the special

Laser burst is just better than laser of the father because it allows you to regain lunar spikes much quicker than usual and deals considerable damage too

For example with 2 stacks and a 200% damage attack, it'd have a 12% proc chance and deal 2400% damage (2000% base + 200% total)

yea. if you want to sustain it you need to stack stuff like armor plates, but how many you need depends on the rate of damage. the wiki lists how many armor plates you'd need up to lvl 24, but hasn't been updated to take preads and lolitude into account

especially reaching lvl 94 should increase the damage a lot, requiring many plates, but that's what i'm trying to find out
