I think it was better than war bonds
that's it
counterpoint: what if you had 1 billion million syringes
only worked if they were on the ground
nvm
it took like 10 stacks before they'd even start taking fall damage, and even then it was barely any
don't squid polyps do a better job at knockback
Warbonds didn't kill you
Also warbonds on enemies made them drop extra money
MUCH better
if you did squid polyp + caffeinator mithrix would basically get pushed out of the arena right
polyps are criminally underrated imo
it is
yeah, it's hilarious
Polyps need more love, they aren't nearly as bad as some of the greens that get compared to
exactly, theres alot of bad greens and polyp isnt one
acting like transmitter killed you 100% of the time is pretty disingenuous lol
you guys ever stacked like way too many laser scopes and everything just dies
or like any other damage item
it's definitely not an amazing item but it's good at its job, which is more than can be said for some other bad items
what we are saying is that it helped very little when it rarely did and usually just teleported you to a disadvantageous position
didnt transmitter have a bug where it could softlock you
probably
I think the second half of that is not true
I haven't heard of that but I would believe it
i've heard it could either send you below the death plane or clip you inside of a rocl
Maruke stop drinking hot sauce
my fav is merc dash softlocking you in a crate
nah i just think maruke got lucky and their experience wasnt as bad as ours
1% chance for transmitter to send you directly to gay baby jail
the 2nd half of that statement isn’t based on anything but personal experience, I’ve had transmitter teleport me to great places more than bad places, in which case I can’t possibly say that’s true
the odds of getting transmitter to actually send you to a good place is lower than balatro's fucking wheel of fortune
in fairness, if ur experiences have been good with it then fair, although i think most of the community has been less lucky
even when transmitter did help, it was just really annoying
That’s just 25%
im addicted to it...
the wheel of fortune in balatro has to be rigged
It’s gonna hit this time trust me
then how come i never get it...
Skill issue
one message has changed the topic of this server
I'm not gonna argue with you on transmitter if you think it was fine pre rework I'm happy for you I wish I saw that green scrap as half full
Balatro was mentioned it’s fully warranted
fair
yeah you're definitely new here
yes i am
doing a gold sticker all challenge and the game just will never blesses me with luck
this happens all the time lol
ok well that’s an entirely different argument
I don’t think an item being annoying makes it bad
like bottled chaos
BC is rarely annoying
yes
I like bottled chaos but can admit it's not good
I agree with you
wait a second can the artifact of soul wisps proc artifact of honor
the main chat is much worse
Even if you get an effect you weren’t expecting you can still use it your advantage
i love bhaos but yeah its not great viable wise
With old transmitter every time it went off you were just disoriented
nah, the soul wisps don't do shit
Getting egged when you're locked in is heart rate shattering
(also I assume you mean sacrifice)
well anyway honor + sonorous whispers is already too op
just wish egg was blacklisted
also no i mean artifact of honor because of whispers
oh
sure, but the item was purely experience based, so I’m not gonna base my rating of it on all of you
this conversation on the time axis is more distanced than a long-distance relationship
my point is that ur the exception, not the rule since most ppl in the community have had bad experiences
The item wouldn't have been completely reworked if the people who disliked it were the minority
that too
i have the most hot take in existence
vand good?
Dole good
i do agree with that but the thing i was going to say was that transmitter should be supernerfed
and again, that shouldn’t matter in my rating of the item
undoubtedly
that's like, a room temperature take at most
Dole saved me once in coop in vields we got vultures with crowbars and tougher times and without it I wouldn't have escaped as the last alive
Dole saved my life
I think most people think it should get a nerf
singularity band is an actually good item (also what is dole i am stupid)
you should consider the general experiences of other ppl due to u being especially lucky with it i think tho
they sell bananas or smth
is dole
love dole
I didn’t like the item, cuz I thought it was boring and didn’t really have a fun design, but I don’t think it was the worst item ever
disputed isnt it
Yeah
i dont know what item that is grah
It heals you for 50%
dole
It's not good but it will get you by if you have nothing bette
that doesn't seem too terrible
Cool down
its a pretty bad item
it gets outclassed by so many other equipments, including other healing equips
I know people who have been lucky, I know people who have been unlucky, on an objectively luck based item I will base my opinion on my experience alone
ok fair it does have a 45s cooldown but still
You have
and
for healing
it really is a "better than nothing" item
caffeinator is like a jack of all trades item
alr 🟪
it's funny because iirc it was actually great in ror1 if you had a shitload of health from infusion, since %-based healing barely existed
caffeinator can be single-target damage, it can be aoe, it can be healing, it can be what you want it to be
Ror1 or rorr
infusion is actually good in that game (rorr)
Because rorr meat chunks seem to be good
infusion is a good item i just don't like how it changes the hp color
infusion in ror2 isnt very good
i meant in ror2. fight me.
I mostly meant ror1, I think healing is a little better off in rorr, maybe? I can't remember lol
a flat non scaling increase to the least important stat in the game is quite bad
It's not terrible
i mean, it's an ok item, not very viable
it's on the low end of greens but certainly not the worst thing ever
its fine to have on rlly low survivors early game as one stack but otherwise its scrap for me
also there was once a really niche bug where shaped glass didnt affect infusion
you might be thinking of ror1 infusion + artifact of glass, I think. I don't remember that ever being a thing in ror2
it was a thing in ror2 for like, a day, it was insanely busted
id just much rather increase my damage negation, speed, or even just directly increase my healing
the only health that matters is the last health (unless you have a watch)
10% at lvl 20 is ~73
and 10% is pretty good. so infusion stays relevant for a bit when its full
not if you have healing
i mean the thing where you start with extra gold
wait hold on does it mean 100 total and not 100 per kill at maximum
i know it was kinda delayed
100 instantly in one kill would make the on kill mechanic basically useless haha
yeah, that's only in prismatic trials
ok
oh lol, anyway i gtg byebye
wish it worked like rorr infusion maybe then itd be somewhat useful imo
infinite health is busted tho
idk
i think its fine
and yes infinite health would be op in a game like ror2 with alot of killing
its more balanced in rorr cause theres not the insane chainkills and stuff as ror2 and less enemies
like being generally around or better than 10% hp on a green is average stat value, steak is weak as a white because its liss than 1/3 of that and i think white to green tends to be around 1/3 stat wise
though balance has been getting more and more fucked as time goes on
I imagine infusion miiiight have been rebalanced around the existence of printers, since printing a few infusions early on can be pretty nice
i generally wouldnt use greens early on for infusion printers unless im full of stuff like harpoon and pauldron
is multiplayer still broken?
define broken
that gives me my answer
does it work
yes
like can i play with other people
yes
its not obvious, so theres not a major bug, so asking to clarify means its useable which answers their question i think
guhhh im so tired
ok cool
i thought since he said "define broken" it wasnt gonna delete my save file but it wasnt gonna work well
crossplay is still terrible and you shouldn't use it, the netcode is as janky as ever, there are probably some minor bugs, but it works
nothing will ever be as buggy an experience as subnautica multiplayer
skyrim multiplayer:
oh god
You all don't know true suffering until you've tried to set up an Uno lobby
been trying to learn host skip, I keep going way too far forward and I can't figure out how to stop doing this, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I thought it was patched but I guess I'm stupid
I think you need to hold forward more once you're actually going up, you hold neutral on the way down but once you bounce back up you have to adjust your position
mods
I'm too tired to think right now
i too was struggling on host skipping lol i got it once then on the fall back down i didnt go upwards anymore
im way too tired to uhhhhhhhhhhh
Whats the easiest way to get demons and the crabs
loop to stage 6 titanic plains and chase them off the edge, preferably with a knockback ability that does no damage like railgunner mines or rex boop
avoid stuff like tesla coil that might kill them by accident and maybe turn off dlcs so that plains is easier to get
is a good item for it
How do I get to mythrix, it seems like it's random chance on stage 5, I've played like 8 runs and only got him once
just leave through the teleporter without realigning the prong things around its edge, and don't take any other portal
every portal besides the teleporter (or void portal but that's a whole other thing) will cause you to loop
i am back
Its the void dlc good
yes
whoever youre best at speedrunning with
yeah pretty fun, the new items are p cool
I got the latest DLC yesterday, some whacky items in it for sure. Tried the zenyata monk person on monsoon, that was a mistake
doing helldivers inputs commands while getting wailed on was hard
did finish with Void guy, now to do it with Rex..
if you’re playing multiplayer then it’s retool MULT, if not then really anyone
id say engi cause turrets can draw aggro away from you
guys I knoe that for flamethrower crits are rolled only once for all of the ticks at the start
does that apply to any procs or are the rest rolled tick by tick basis?
It does apply to procs, yeah. If the initial hit is a crit then every proc that comes from it will be a crit, and vice versa
Except charged perforator, because it's dumb and uses random crit chance instead of inheriting crit
if you mean will every tick of flamethrower proc (as in the proc is rolled at the beginning) then no
that’s exclusive to crit, damage bursts like shotguns roll crit once but usually everything else individually
id have said Loader since you can basically speed run it on drizzle with no items and cant take fall damage
my mate failed it 3 times as he would try to play normally and do it, and took the HP cut in half shrines lol
yea I mean loader is really strong so that’s perfectly reasonable, but tbh it doesn’t actually matter who you play, just whatever you find easiest
yeah the real answer is just whoever you're the best at not getting hit as
Can I combo these 2 to never have a delicate watch break?
No, shields count as max health
Ok thanks
I'm in a run right now and I'm trying to kill mythrix and I'm debating on getting the heretic, but what will happen to my abilities on hiw 4th stage when he takes my items?
He doesn't take those items
i was oddly just about to ask what you get if anything for finishing a heretic run/on monsoon?
Nothing
What about the mastery skin for the character you start as?
nice arti run
I meant that yh
wait really, I didnt mean this but nice to know
u get it
ah ok thats something atleast
Hey guys, im trying to just play with my friend for the first time in multiplayer, but no idea how to actually join eachothers lobbies, any help?
are you on steam?
yeah
make sure you both have crossplay turned off, then you should just be able to send an invite through steam
off, not on
correct
alright
crossplay is notoriously glitchy, and if it's enabled you can only join other crossplay games. So it's best to keep it turned off
ah I see
it's only between steam and epic games so you're not missing out on anything
okayokay thank you so much
np
you won't get it as heretic
no you don't
you get her survivor log and it counts for eclipse progress, but no survivor-specific unlocks since she's a separate character
Hello everyone, new player here
I've been playing for a week (no DLCs, on rainstorm only), and so far managed to get to Mithrix thrice, but every time it felt weird, like I'm basically tickling him to death until he hits me twice within 20 seconds and then it's over (I reached phase 3 in every attempts)
I think that feeling comes from the fact that he's so much faster than everything else in the game, but I probably could improve my playstyle, so does anyone has some advice? (other than git gud/skill issue, I already know that)
(I don't really have a survivor of choice, but Loader, Commando and Acrid feel the best to me for now) (I also like Bandit but he has a lot of bad matchups)
the mithrix fight is kind of a war of attrition unless you've got a god run going, for the most part you'll just want to stay at a medium distance and punish him when he's vulnerable, usually right after an attack.
Try to stay near the ramps, verticality is incredibly strong in that fight since most of his attacks are melee, so having a consistent way to get above him gives you a ton of safety. Just be ready to get close to him when he starts doing big spinny in phase 3 (if you haven't seen that yet, you'll know what that is when it happens), he always alternates between spinny and the big ground shockwave attack once he's under 75% hp so you can sorta predict it.
Drones also help a lot, especially with bandit's cloaking. Mithrix's AI is as dumb as any other enemy and he gets distracted easily, so with drones drawing aggro he'll spend half the fight flailing around trying to swat them out of the air
oh yeah, and without spoiling too much, ||be ready for phase 4. It's not actually that hard, just don't panic and be ready to run for cover- it's pretty easy if you just play it safe and poke him to death from a distance||
also just for runs in general, make sure you're looting as much as you can, a pretty common new player mistake is panicking over the timer and rushing straight for the teleporter without grabbing any items
ok thanks
I actually thought the opposite, I thought I was taking too much time to get every chest I could find, reaching him with the timer between 65-75mins (without looping) and having to fight him when he's 15+ levels higher than me. But maybe that's not the first thing to worry about
And I haven't tried using the ramps, that's something I'll def look into for the next time
...maybe I'll just try to kite him to death with Acrid
he won't be able to tank forever if he's losing 1% of his health every second
nah, time management is more about efficiency than speed- a good rule of thumb is to full-clear every stage and try to at least leave with more items than minutes, with a little extra time set aside to use printers and scrappers and stuff.
Items are how you get stronger, you will never outrun the timer no matter how fast you go. And it actually speeds up by about 15% for every stage you clear, so you really wanna make the most of every stage.
also yeah, kiting him with acrid is totally viable, you don't even really need to worry about having enough damage in that case (although multipliers like
do work on poison, so that can still help)
I was told b4 u get it
unless gearbox changed it, you were told wrong
I distinctly remember not getting bandit's mastery on the first try because I ended the run as heretic lol
What's the best difficulty, character and artifacts for the best loop experience (4 loops then voidling)
i mean... drizzle if you want it to be easy
monsoon will be harder initially but by loop 4 it won't really matter since enemies will be max level
max level enemies on rainstorm and monsoon are exactly the same, monsoon just reaches it sooner. and the only difference with drizzle is that you get extra damage resistance
although I guess monsoon will still end up with more director credits but again, by loop 4 you're usually so overpowered that it hardly matters. You'll start seeing scavengers sooner ig so that's something
So you reach scavengers quickest at monsoon
yeah, usually around stage 8 or 9
compared to around 15 on rainstorm and around 20 on drizzle
whatever survivor you normally find fun will still apply after looping
Huntress with Flurry is good since she has a much greater chance of being close to capping crit
if you loop for too like all survivor gameplay will devolve into the same state anyways, where you hit one thing and a proc chain reaction wipes the map
ok thanks
Another thing that I guess would be survivor specific is getting to a point where Void Fiend is always corrupted due to crits + stacking void items
Or False Son getting enough HP boosts to kill things just by spamming Lunar Nails
ty for the response (I forgot to respong initially
), apparently the issue was just that artificer is one of the 2 characters that can't do this because of how their momentum works
I'm pretty sure she can still do it, the timing for holding jump is just a little different
there are also other spots that might work better, like off the side of the bridge
Her jetpack kinda messes up the tech so you wanna let go of jump as soon as you get warped back on stage
Using the ramps and kiting with Acrid was the way, finally beat him (and phase 4 was trivial thanks to poison)
...having 10 armor piercing rounds definitely helped
Thanks for the tips
np, glad I could help
what do points in the end of a run give
bragging rights
They dont give anything
useless
Theyre just there so you can have a semi solid guide on how well your runs went compared to each other (though at higher difficulties its not really effective)
I feel like if you ignored the gold measurement you could probably get a better idea
True true
Does the expose transfer tech on focused assault stack expose or apply one stack then immediately use it and reapply
the latter
Figured ty
How much harder is dlc than base game
the final boss is a little unbalanced (against the player), but otherwise not that much harder
SotV adds some new enemies and mechanics that can make things a little harder, but both DLCs add some very strong items that help balance it out
mid run rn and trying to finish a commando quest, and the artifact portal isnt spawning even tho i killed the boss
how do i fix this?
istg if i have to throw away this 1 hr run ima crash out
you got the softlock bug, rip. Nothing you can do but quit out
to be fair.... it's a roguelike, that's just how they are
and normal runs take like an hour anyway
reasonable
but yeah, it's a shitty way to have to end the run. Hopefully fixed next patch
i just really wanna finish up commandos items :c
is mercenary any actual good? like is there anything good about it or am i just complete ASS?
it is possibly a skill issue yes
merc is decently strong if you know how to use him, definitely not broken like false son or loader or whatever, but not weak either
it helps if you know about the tech with expose though
should i just play him untill i do good or like is there something that i just wont get about it
whats the tech?
if you dash (or use any skill, really) right at the start of his 3rd sword swing, it'll carry the sword hitbox through the dash instead of cancelling it https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/559901453834256404/820804193493057586/imagine_taking_visions_on_merc.mp4?size=4096
it can net you a ton of extra damage and expose, it takes some practice to learn the timing but it's worth it
is mercenary just reliant on that?
nah, he can work fine without it. But it's a nice extra tool to have in your arsenal
but utilizing expose in general is a major part of what makes merc work, tech or not. It's like hitting weakpoints as railgunner
merc is actually at his best in dense crowds where you can capitalize on his huge hitboxes and get more expose procs, he basically gets stronger the more overwhelmed he is.
how do i know if i actually land the tech, like i cant tell because it doesnt look any different
I mean, you'll get a ton of expose procs when you otherwise wouldn't
he's not using the dash that gives expose normally (and it's not delayed like focused assault would be)
I find it helps if you do it at point blank range so you can take advantage of the hitpause as soon as the sword hitbox comes out
this might also help https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2632486396
slightly outdated, I think the slam thing has been patched out with the physics changes. Otherwise still a good guide
it looks like i am dashing and swining at the same time but i am not getting the procs
how close is the window?
it's at the VERY start of the attack. Swing first and then dash immediately after, almost at the same time but you need to use primary first
it'll be easier if you do one swing at a time instead of holding m1
it takes practice but you get the hang of it
it also gets harder the more attack speed you have, although the hitpause trick helps with that
is the trick to do just it like fraction of a fraction after you do final m1 like close enough to not be able to tell
pretty much, I'm not sure what the actual window is but it's gotta be within the first few frames of the sword animation
oh yeah even without that tech he is just i frames, that alt r move worth unlocking?
slicing winds?
yeah, swinds is great
it's a slightly different playstyle, you're trading some iframes and mobility for more damage and a ranged option
How do I keep engineer turret alive in high wave simulacrum? Monsters keep killing turrets.
better placement, usually you want them on high ground or other spots where enemies can't get at them as easily (or clip them into a wall if you're feeling cheesy)
also bungus/elixir
Thanks
Its hell to unlock but I got it yesterday, can confirm that its worth, you should also try to get the alternate M2 (uppercut) since it has way more damage potential and although you trade trimping for it its very high damage
If you don't have it yet just enable artifact of command, find an equipment chest and use milky chrysalis along with your dash and other mobility abilities to stay in the air for 30 seconds easily
hey uhm bit late but rising thunder is actually doable itemless
just need some bosses around to juggle around (and pray for titans/pests not to spawn, they kill you very swiftly if not paid enough attention ugh)
I know, tried to get it on distant roost by constantly flying up but it kept teleporting me back so I got pissed off lol
With chrysalis its the fastest and easiest way
for sure it is
but i still think hovering with beetle queen at distant roost is the easiest
close seconds still
on a lot of stage 1 maps you can just ghet up to a really high spot and just jump down while spamming abilities and you get it
anyways, is there anyway to charge a m1m2 slam without whipping out a m1, tired of wasting lumishot like this
there's no way to do it without m1, but lumi won't get used if you don't hit anything, so just turn around or back up enough that the initial swing misses
mm
false son is so strong but really janky to play at times, between this and needing to spam non-agile m2 for speed and the weird 3.0/1.0 aerial slam difference
did they patch that actually, i havent really played or looked at ror2 stuff for a long while
nah, nothing about him changed
not being able to dash while charging slam makes it feel kinda weird to m1 air from farther away and have to slowly walk up, vs m1 air and then charge and then dash up at least
id take some nerfs to numbers for some mechanical "buffs" like this tbh
yeah, hopefully that's what they do
it's stupid how strong he is but he feels clunky to play
Thats kinda the intended design tbh
although tbh i think mechanical buffs with current numbers would still be in a similar tier with other OP survivors anyways so i guess its "fine" if numbers stay the same
Iirc suncles said something similar to false son being supposed to be a construct gone mad
doesnt false son boss himself do slamcharge into dash, i dont think its necessary to make him janky to play
An unhinged construct
visual design and animations can cover that
in that case I don't like their design choice lol
I don't think characters should be balanced around feeling clunky
That was the wording
void fiend does a better job at feeling unhinged imo
false son doesn't really feel unhinged, just unfinished
when i think unhinged i think feral animal gorilla rampage or something, not really slowly walking up with a charged club and needing to pause and shoot out spikes to get to places faster
Oh yeah absolutely
Especially the spikes annoy me
But dashing before charging slam doesnt seem that bad to me
Especially once you got some attack speed going
its usually fine but its getting annoying with lumishot since u dont want to waste the mandatory m1
so u cant dash too close
the spikes not being agile doesn't bother me, that's just how skills work in ror2 by default. But transitioning to spikes from using other skills could feel a lot smoother
Thats a lum issue not a fs issue
its pretty easily fixed by changing false son mechanics eg letting u dash during charge or like holding m2 first then m1 skips the mandatory m1 swipe
Its just annoying that the spikes are used to get faster... but because it stops sprinting you have to get slower
With other attacks like that the intent isnt on getting faster
Its especially bad that the rhythm at which you tap sprint again slows down because you gradually lose attack speed from using the spikes
well, sometimes you can merc default m2 on ground for a small dash, but have to sprint again, id take agile on m2 there too lol
Honestly the main problem with the spikes is how horribly slow their base fire rate is
Sometimes I wish I could just expend them all at the same time
does going into a newt shop mess up the false son route?
yes but theres a chance the newt shop will have a false son stage or the gilded coast
idk if this is so much a game uestion but why is false sons boss music labeled part 1 of the path of the colossus tracks ive never understood that
what on earth happened here (edit:uploading clip)
we went in fully ready to get deleted as i had just spent 5++ mins on the last stage running for my life with my mate dead
obv missing my friends audio so im just laughing to nothing
hello it is me again
how many
do you need to outheal void fog in e5
war bonds
so it just goes nuts? i think thats the first time ive had it
it deals a % of the boss's health, plus it procs and scales with multipliers. It's pretty broken
i seee
yeah when i shot him and it did basically nothing
i laughed
then when that went off, laughed in confusion
3 for void fields, every other source of void fog increases damage the longer you're in it so they can't be outhealed, at least not forever
but vields does a fixed 2.5% of your health per second iirc and wungus heals 1% per second with e5
natural regen can help a little as well. is it still % max? or did they change it back to % current. i cant rember
ah damn its still max. with % current you could stabilize and have regen outheal in some cases haha
it did look like 2.5% tho. also sounds right
Is the most recent dlc worth it? I see reviews are still mostly negative on Steam
Yes, it's good and fun, and works much better than it did on launch.
How do i get the bonus boss on sirens call that givesa legendary ( i saw it in some videos but cant figure out how to figth it)
Destroy the eggs around the map
Ok
You have to shoot/blow up like..6 piles of egg nests
They are usually around the tower side of the map
is the viscous falls logbook absurdly rare or something? its the last one im missing but no matter how many looping runs ive done I cant seem to get it
I use sacrifice and command to increase the spawn chances but nothing happens
Ive completed the event on prime meridian and got the skin for railgunner, but every time i reload the game the skin dissapears. Can someone help?
Honestly I have this same problem but with the shattered abodes night variant, maybe it’s just our luck
it's a known issue on consoles, afaik there's nothing you can do but wait for a fix
Idk but I have it and I don't loop all that much so I think you're just unlucky
I do think the night variant of shattered abodes is still glitched tho afaik
what is the strongest projectile from any survivor
diablo strike
how is that a projectile
because it is? at least as far as the game is concerned
ok thanks for the help
if you wanted something that's more of a traditional projectile then probably nanobomb
not that I'm aware of, but if there is it would probably be 2,147,483,647
arent there decimal numbers?
I mean yeah, but that's the integer limit. The game might work around that though, since I know final bosses can have more health than that if you loop enough
I just don't know off the top of my head
why would it be the integer limit if there a decimal values. wouldnt that mean they are either using a float or place value variable or a string holder
Does the beetle guard have 5 eyes, or 4 eyes on the side and a glowy thing on top
5
Ok thanks
is there a link to see the completed logbook to see which ones im missing, including both dlcs
I mean you could probably just go to the wiki
No, but if your looking for the text the log books have itle probably have them
What are you trying to compare?
i just want to fill out all my monster logs and environement logs and want to figure out which ones i dont have
When I get home from where I am now, I can send you a picture of the almost complete log book, the only one I’m missing is the night version of shattered abodes
If you want
yeah that would be nice, i was also gonna ask yeah if the alternate varient stages also have radar scanners
Yeah the do, though the shattered abodes night one is bugged I think, and the one for treetop colony can appear again even if you already have it
ah ok thanks for letting me know
its pretty high at least
Also if you want a quick way to get monster logs, you can just stack clovers by either using artifacts of command, or command and devotion
so at least like 4
yeah i remember doing that when trying to get voidling, i just dont remember the last 2 monsters i waws missing
im assuming theres no good way to get radio scanners to spawn
idk what actual cap is, but its not really relevant in gameplay
Apparently using command and sacrifice will increase the chance because it gets rid of stuff on the map, idk though, that’s what I’ve heard
if you'd like to get big numbers, easiest way to start off would be shaped glass stacking as its exponential. although you cant just get a million glass since you instadie past 128 or smth
challenge accepted
ooo interesting will keep that in mind
that is one higher than the 64-bit integer limit
not really a challenge but if u want to go for it sure ig, its just that everything on the map will be dying way before then is what i mean lol
yeah what? maybe because it cant be zero so it adds one?
Also quick question is the console bug where you do split screen and it deletes your data, does that still exist or has that been patched
hey, i've got a question about crossplay, so if i have risk of rain on my pc and my friend has it on a nintendo switch, could we play together or no?
No
ok thanks for letting me know
They rly should add cross play
My friend has it on the switch too, I have it on PS5 and it's so annoying not being able to play
Hey guys I need some help. I redownload the game on my switch (my PC is broken) and for some reason nkuhntas opinion isn't unlocked but I went to the cave and the skeleton isn't there. Any ideas on how to fix this?
yeah, that's a thing that can happen. If you get a big AoE like gasoline, it can sometimes hit the skeleton from above ground and destroy it, but for some reason it won't trigger the unlock even though it should.
There isn't a fix, I think it's generally a known bug but it might be worth a #1172187541349347429 anyway if you want.
Thank you very much for letting me know
hmm alright
Hey, if my friend and I are doing sirens call secret boss and I die, will I still get the loader if my friend beats the boss?
does the achievement to inflict poison for Acrid count blight too?
Isn't that the achievement to unlock blight
no its to change his shift
the one for blight is to kill 50 enemies that are at 1 hp
Ohh
no it doesn’t
has to be poison
sure
afaik as long as the achievement doesn't state "without dying" (like with bandit's unlock) yes
okay thank you, i was checking because of specifically that achievement that i had to do 2x bc of that
weird question - but anyone know of a fix for profile name font being squished in the info screen i.e. the box seems too small and the profile name continues underneath?"
does anyone know if the seekers of the storm dlc on xbox has been fixed?
Been fixed for a while
why did they make Loader's grapple make you stop running
probably because sprinting doesn't really affect grapple movement anyway
really?
it might just be bc the FOV changes but I feel like it's faster when I start running mid grapple
yeah, it's just an optical illusion from the fov change
but grappling is physics-based movement so it's unaffected by move speed and sprinting
I might just be inexperienced but Loader feels really slow to play
makes sense
define slow
because she's easily the fastest character in the game if played right
but she's also focused more on dealing really slow, strong hits rather than dealing constant damage like most survivors do
if I give an equipment drone the backup radio on Captain, will the spawned drones have my microbots?
yep
probably just need to get used to her
loader grapple is great for getting you right where you wanna be
the skill ceiling for loader is insane
it seems like she can't deal with flying enemies that well tho
unless you just grapple above them
you mostly have to line them up for a punch yea, which can get annoying
pylon usually deals with them well enough tho since the tricky ones are mostly only the fragile ones
one of the many reasons i don't use loader's alt skills tbh
On the other hand, loader's alt grapple can kill wisps and pull other flying enemies onto the ground
technically alt grapple and alt gauntlet are both better for dealing with flying enemies
does her alt grapple pull enemies to you? instead of pulling you to them
It pulls "small" enemies to you
ah
also do you know if I get stuck in Bulwark's Ambry if the artifact thing falls off the map?
it deadass vanished after a bit
nvm
is the TC-280 a guaranteed spawn?
nope
unless you're not going for the captain achievement, then you'll get like 3 of them
it uses the same credit system as everything else, worth 2.5 chests iirc
not in gold, but in spawning values, since it can spend so much per stage in order to make each one random
all part of the director
which also means that turning on sacrifice and command increases their spawn rate
removing chests, printers and scrappers means you get more drones and shrines
Even worse, rpd has increased weight for drones
There's an id for a tc drone boss fight wonder what they were planning with that (or maybe debug toolkit just adds random shit to the next boss command)
maybe interact, fight it, keep it? like acrid in the other games, where you have to free him?
It's specifically for the tp but hmm maybe
the 280 working like a bet-c in DRG would've been cool
Yeah I was thinking of bet c
But the drone would have to be good for that to be worth it
I was gonna suggest that it might be that, or it's somehow related to the tc's that used to spawn during the old escape sequence, but if it's a tp boss then I have no idea
i mean, is there anything to the drone besides the captain unlock? even a log? maybe they planned more for it
It's been there since day one
it's possible more was planned, it is weird that it just kinda exists
reminds me of some of the unused skyrim stuff
they put it in, it's functional, but that's kinda it. like random helmets that are really cool, but in 1 specific spot
the one torch that has raytraced shadows or whatever
Creation engine games have tons of weird unused shit
Hrodulf's Torch
but yeah, is there anything about it? drones dont have logs do they?
maybe in the stage log
Nothing
they refuse to give us drone lore
They were going to be the Eclipse 9 modifier where every drone is a tc 280
but I think it's possible hopoo planned more for it, they clearly had a lot of ideas that they never went through with
But no rpds log is just a guy calling for help
did you ever look at the old language files?
no?? why would i lol
idk if they're still there but there used to be a bunch of references to unused interactables, like a permanent shop upgrade that was probably meant for the bazaar
mm, would be cool to have permanent upgrades, but i think part of what makes ror2 is that you dont have to grind other runs to win
there was also "teleporter seed" and "young teleporter" or something along those lines, which I really wish they hadn't scrapped because it sounds like there's some really neat lore there lol
, but more like a lot of roguelikes have clear "upgrades" like better shop, maybe more damage, starting gear, essentially to ramp up your playtime until you win and dont really play again
it's what makes games like ror2 so replayable, simply a skill issue with unlocks in it
damn vague patchnotes
I wanna say that they did but I honestly don't remember
when was the anniversary? we could use wayback and go to the old wiki or something
presumably reavers did spawn on commencement as I don’t believe the ending cutscene has changed
Commencement is the final stage Environment added in the 1.0 Update, and revised in the Anniversary Update. It is located on the moon of Petrichor V.
The Artifact of Kin will allow its selected monster to spawn, but not prevent the Lunar Chimera (Exploder), Lunar Chimera (Golem), or Lunar Chimera (Wisp) from spawning.
oh do they keep archives? sick
so it did have reavers, yeah
The red bar on soup island is funny
the mysterious red stick
Now it's the 2nd most hated pillar
rushing to the teleporter and not looting enough
Ideally you wanna fully loot every stage as efficiently as you can, try to always leave with more items than minutes as a rule of thumb
As a new player you should go for 1 item a minute, I will say you can go into the other end of the spectrum and spend 20 minutes on a stage full looting and as a new player you likely aren't going to be able to play around that idk if what I'm saying is coherent basically tldr 1 minute per item and don't waste time especially when you don't know the map very well
afaxmachine and coffeecoffee777 already said the biggest thing, but the 2nd biggest tip is to circle enemies, there's some exceptions but if you circle the enemies you'll dodge 90% of their attacks (this Is also how to complete that phase successfully and consistenly)
Yeah a huge mistake new players make is just not moving, enemies aren't professional cs go players and suck at hitting moving targets
stormtrooper aim
imagine how much harder this game would be if the enemies aimed predictively
fucking obligated to play triple dash merc or anything similar
ideally you stick to the outside of a group of enemies and circlestrafe them, but even just moving side to side and jumping helps
anything's better than standing still or running straight at them
I hate the blind pest change where they miss you off screen when they spawn now, I swear I've strafed into their spit a couple times and it's like augh
Thankful I haven't had that issue but yea it kinda sucks
Players that struggle with them still complain and players that didn't can now randomly get hit
Use sound queues people 💔
I was gonna say just make their spawn noise louder lol sometimes it can get drowned out
That's fair, I wish games had seperate sound sliders for enemies
When I played deep rock I really wanted to hear the several of sound queues in that game but whatever I did, the weapons are just so loud it hurts my ears
Doom invisibility be like
I don't like how much that game started to rely on sound queues more and more and more over the time
I love not being able to hear an exploder because I'm too busy being blasted by dance of dreadnoughts and listening to my crispr
But yeah, it's weird how quiet blind pests are considering how much damage they do
And how cheap they are for how tanky they are
honestly the AI change is probably like the 2nd worst nerf they could've done beside increasing the cost, I think reducing their hp would be more than enough
Something something glass canon smth smth
Wisps are already that niche
I wouldn't call them glass canons I'd call them just glass
Increasing their cost would honestly be better, they slowdown the early game and I dislike that
I think the nerf was well-intentioned but they didn't think it through very well
Making the AI intentional miss is a crazy idea, In my head at least
Ror1 wisps had to sell their hp for flight
Idk I don't think wisps strike that hard
I think of them more like... A bunch of tiny little angry flies that won't really do anything alone but 30 of them comes along and it becomes a little tricky
they're wasps
one is gonna hurt but it won't do any real damage
twenty are gonna fucking swarm you
Blind pests have very little sound cues though. Mostly when they spawn and when they spit, but that second one is too quick to react reliably to
I personally find I’ve been hit less I think by their first shot, but dunno. I’m sure I’ve strafed into some
It’s hard to tell once too many enemies (especially pests) are around.
how do i get the 8 hour mithrix sex scene
whats this underground area for anyway
You should go down there in a normal run
** wink wink**
Unless you already unlocked nkuhanas opinion
Because thats the sole purpose of that cave
Are Umbras affected by Evolution (as in, do they get Evolution items + Player's inventory?)
oooh... i mustve done that so long ago i forgot lol. thought it was an unused area thanks
Are you implying this is another way to unlock that item
Wait nvm that’s modded wetland aspect
me and my friend are trying to play together but when the host starts game the other doesnt get sent to the start screen, why does that happen?
what are your crossplay settings? you should both have it off, assuming you're both on steam
took a break from the game ever since the dlc dropped but now that i'm playing again I notice that Mithrix's pizza attack still has its audio desynced and it throws me off super hard
anyone know if there's a mod or something similar that might fix the bug?
if there's a mod for it then #ror2-modding would know
Yep, PizzaSoundFix by Goorakh
:/ glad I get to play rex again
The moment I saw the void jailor phase through the wall I knew it was over 😭
The lobby actually just crashed
Can void seeds spawn on the first stage?
No
Yeah fun times..
Is it reliant on whoever is hosting the game? As my mate made it to the end and I was "dead"
if the host crashes or disconnects, the session expires and the run is over
if anyone else disconnects, i think they're able to rejoin with another invite (on steam) and the game stays up for everyone else
I've got some friends back into runs after they've crashed by sending another steam invite, but it sometimes doesn't work so idk
FUuuu really
Yeah I must have dropped out
Oh my god you reaction actually made me wheeze LMFAO
yeah, discovered it when trying out a bunch of stuff to try and get my friend back into a good run after he crashed
i actually have no idea how it works but it does if they've been in the run before
well I hope to never have to use it ,but will give it a shot
curious ab something, how does chat feel about item quality vs it's rarity?
1️⃣ Item rarity should always determine how "good" it is (i.e Bison steak shouldn't exist, Old Guillotine should be made a white item, etc, Happiest Mask maybe a green item)
2️⃣ Disappointing items are fine in white and green, but a red should always be something good (i.e, happiest mask should recieve a major buff)
3️⃣ There should be disappointing items in each tier, rarity doesn't always mean quality (i.e Bison Steak and Happiest Mask SHOULD exist, the game stays as is)
I’d like a slight buff to the weakest items and a nerf to the strongest ones, but reds should always be kinda strong
(Like getting aegis is useless on most characters pre loop, and even post loop you’d rather be doing more damage)
interesting and I pretty much agree 😉
How would y’all go about doing the huntress challenges? The crowbar one seems purely based on luck and the take no damage one seems impossible, I already did the first challenge (for the 3-shot main attack)
Item rarity imo determine a LOT more, but generally it think there should be scrap in every tier, in a perfect world said "scrap" items are still beneficial under certain circumstances
true! that being said, ive only found like, 2 red printers in my 500+ hours playing, so red scrap is only really good for white soup on commencement (which isn't even guaranteed)
scrapping reds is not only discouraged but a LOT of reds are super disappointing to get LOL
I think reds (and red scrap potential) needs a big rework
Eh most reds are better than they're given credit for
crowbar one, you just wanna loop or find a printer, or just use command
aegis has a usecase but... bens raincoat...
no damage one is kinda just a skill check, but becomes MUCH easier once you get the alt utility since it's basically a spammable dodgeroll
There are some reds that lean in a bit too much on being gimmicky like nkuhanas but the majority of them either strongly synergise with a certain build branch or cover other aspects of the game mostly on their own, allowing you to scrap other items that you dont need anymore
Like how icbm is a huge damage boost in builds that use at least one of the various rocket items or how deskplant removes the need for a good amount of healing items
And even some weaker ones like bottled chaos still incentivise you to experiment with them
yeah that makes sense 😉
i dont know how much id prefer a deskplant over one or two slugs though
Best case scenario you killed a LOT of enemies and healing is all over, but you gotta be touching the ground to heal
Worst case scenario it's mithrix time and there's very few specific locations you gotta make your way to instead of just gaining passive heal
whereas with slug you gain fairly fast regen after not being hit for a few seconds (you can be anywhere you like)
that might just be slug being OP for a white item though
Yeah thats pretty much exactly why bad and mediocre reds are good
They make you to think about what they contribute to your run and how you can best make use of them
I guess that's fair? 😉
Items like deskplant CAN be good but yeah you gotta really know how to make the best of them
wait when mythrix steals your items if you have a few planulas and your character relies on procs do you just die
oh alr
The less health that healthbar has the more items will go back to you and that item healthbar cant heal
So even though mithrix himself would heal all the damage back up, he would still lose the planula eventually due to the damage to the second healthbar
i have no way to skip his phase 4 cuz no fire band and my build has 2 empathy cores and 2 planulas this is gonna be pain
when in doubt, camp on one of these until your items are back
it was fine one of my drones died, i bought him back and then remembered i had the squid turret thing
hey guys any bandit tips
honestly bandit is pretty simple imo so there ain't much i can say
tho i would like to note that invis makes every enemy attack where you were instead of where you are
including final bosses
Close range as bandit is exceptionally safe because of his shift not only doing invisibility, but also a stun
He works decently well with most items, because his shotgun can excel with proc like sticky bomb, while either pistol skill can excel with crowbars or bands
also bandit is 1 of the 2 characters that can semi-viably use lost seers
i wouldn't recommend doing that but you could do it
when did this anti guillotine propaganda start
I think they should demote some greens and demote or buff some reds but otherwise the system seems fine as it is
(I voted 2)
Guillotine was white to begin with, but also much stronger. It got double nerfed, one or the other was probably fine
Rn the numbers are kinda low compared to other greens, but a few stacks for bosses is funny
I always thought it was good, but I would probably keep it in green and raise the numbers if something had to be done
It basically just works as a 15% damage increase against elites specifically tho
Even compared to white damage increasing items, that's pretty lackluster
And compared to something like an atg, even if you were on honor it'd still take two guillotines to match the average damage of a single atg
i thought it was like 13 or 14
yea if 1 stack is 11.5% thats like 13% up, 2 is 20.6% so ~26% up
funnily enough the way its calc'd makes the description number work as the avg damage up number, even though the description is not worded as damage up lol
It's 13% less health which is about the same as 15% more damage
idk if that would work for anything into that formula or its coincidence
not exactly since its hyperbolic
so 2 stacks isnt 26% less health
which means 1 stack is only an 11.5% health decrease, not a full 13%
Right I forgot I was going off the item description
yeagh
So yeah it's about 13% more damage, which is even worse
Thinking about it as more damage also makes it scale linearly instead of hyperbolicly tho funnily enough
mhm. thats why it prooobably should have stayed 20%? they said they adjusted the % because elite HP changed, which is fair, but then i think it still just got nerfed in a few ways all at once so its hard to tell exactly what happened
yea, thats why its more convenient
thats basically how the hyperbolic function works, as one piece increases linearly, the other changes exponentially. when the top hits infinity the bottom hits 0, or vice versa
which is why tougher times cant hit 0% damage taken (100% blocked), because the number on top linearly increasing would need to be infinity
basically you can always convert the 2 between each other, linear damage increases could be converted to % effective health decrease, though thats harder to work with
it's been kind of a while since i played this game, what kind of builds work best on chef?
also some of my qol mods are messing up the updated item descriptions so i don't really know what a lot of the reworked items do other than antlers and the teleporter one
i think the old go-to was betterui, but the dev kinda self destructed so now the go-to is lookingglass
not sure which you are using, or if its something else entirely
idk what ever happened to itemstatsmod lol
what kind of builds/items should i use for chef
i don't really know how his kit works, other than that i have the better dice mod
I can't speak too much for Glaze, but with Yes Chef, general proc is pretty good
seemed insane using boosted dice, since there's so many projectiles, that if you can get a point blank hit with it, it does colossal damage
can also be good, but there's one thing to remember with all chef builds: he has no armor. Since he's so frail, you have to play safe and agile
proc chain items in general are good, otherwise maybe staples, like generally good items such as movement speed stuff or getting different sources for damage ups to multiply each other
Chef also has an extremely easy death mark setup with glaze
ok so proc chains, death marks, etc
essentially the kind of builds i would use on mando, huntress or arti
in general chef is pretty underpowered atm so don't expect too much from him
i'm using the mod that takes dice off of the resource meter
Personally I found
useful in my experience. Since chef struggles with scaling, the really small swarm enemies can take multiple hits by like stage 3-4, including wisps, and it helps preserve your regenerating ammo
does it buff any of his other skills or just dice?
i'll be honest
just dice
i.e. on stage 1 the wisps should die in 1 full dice hit, but not at later points
mkay
that makes him a bit better then, but his kit as a whole is just pretty weak
yeah, sear I find myself using early game just for the passive
roll doesn't give you armor either, does it? not even boosted roll?
ok so chef is not the character for me
i'm mainly just going through the roster to see which ones might be fun since i've genuinely never played at least one or two of them
i'm gonna give false son a try
similar build to other heavy hitters, i'm guessing?
bands, crowbars, syringes, movement, etc?
works with heavy hitting builds because of his spammable 1500% slam but also works with proc items because his spammable 1500% slam has a 3.0 proc coefficient, and default laser also being strong
false son is broken as hell, he works with pretty much anything
I think he's the best user of Luminous Shot too
he definitely is, by far
luminous feels like it was designed specifically for him lol
big boy
Not just because of the raw damage but because of how his playstyle works, you end up naturally using it and don't have to play around it
his passive also gives him extra stat bonuses based on how much bonus health he has (as in health from items, not from leveling up) so even bison steak is worth keeping
doesn't he have one really big slam attack that also works with luminous shot?
yeah
that does like 50 bajillion damage in a single hit
1500% aoe with a 3.0 proc coeff if you use it on the ground
if you use it in the air it's 1.0, but the radius scales with height like headstompers
it can also save your life if you accidentally fall from a high place
i do remember playing a soldier tf2 mod that had the mantreads, they were meant to work like that but they didn't
i also remember headstompers being ridiculously strong
it is
how do i get height with false son?
i remember seeing some kind of slam tech but i'm not sure how it works
there was a bug where you could get stuck in the falling slam state for as long as you wanted while on the ground, so you could essentially charge up a huge slam since the radius is based on airtime and not actual height.
I think that was patched though
I haven't heard of any tech that lets him get a ton of height, unless he can trimp with his dash. I still haven't played him enough to know for sure lol
the grounded slam radius is bigger than what it might seem too, it can hit stuff outside of focus crystal range
theres some edge cases, generally yeah i agree but eg certain builds wont be able to easily lumishot voidling when not laser spin, or some powermode saw secondary mult memes can see higher numbers as well i think
boss-accurate abilities
you get armor only when charging lmao, usually just ok for fall dmg, if youre burning but otherwise safe, maybe if youre caught in a vagrant nova
this also depends on if you take glaze or yes chef
for instance, light flux is really miserable with glaze, your m2 endlag and glaze startup are awful. but its great with yes chef who can just use boosted cleavers 2x more often, and hardly wants to use m2 in the first place
i already gave up with chef
thank you very much though
also i don't really use lunar items unless i'm just goofing around, they just make the game so much easier if i use them right
did you try glaze or yes chef
i think yes chef is better, but it has specific bugs / tech so otherwise without them glaze probably just clears
well, tbh theyre close with yes chef techs and itll depend, also on multiplayer the weaken on glaze is probably just better as well for the team
chef is ez
Hey guys can i get some good bandit tips in regards of survival?
I know smoke bomb spam but how much do invest in healing/evasion?
After the mandatory 5+ speed items
bandit will benefit more from aoe than healing
having drones drawing aggro helps a lot, cloak is more effective if enemies have other targets to attack
does false son have a pillar skip
you really don't need healing a whole lot, or even that much speed for that matter if you're good at using cloak to evade stuff
he does but it takes a long time and isnt easy to do
you hgave to use a bug with slam on a slope
!!!!!havent played ror2 since before the 1st dlc came out. i loved ror2 but have heard a lot of negative stuff especially with this recent dlc essentially breaking the game. has the game been fixed or improving and is it still relatively the same game as before? i wanna get back into ror2 and wanted to maybe buy both dlcs but unsure about the state of the game. i played on ps4 and I'm gonna get the ps5 upgrade but heard the upgrade was broken too. if anyone could give a tldr i would appreciate it
all the major bugs have been fixed
Yeah, the items were bad at first, but they made them better, I play on ps5 and it still feels the same,
I love cloak
I really wish we got more ways to increase uptime
bandolier
is sear glaze non-host still bugged in mp or nah
Not sure but I would bet that its still bugged
is it worth using a shatterspleen to print a knurl if i'm playing false son? i don't have a lot of growth right now
nah
growth on false son is great, but not good enough to trade a shatterspleen for a knurl
i just killed the awu but the red item isn't by the spawn location
is it on a timer or did it just get stuck somewhere
because i went through hell to kill that damn thing
also is the burn dot bug still a thing or
there's no timer, but sometimes it can clip through the floor
it might still be grabbable though
god damn it
yeah
boomerang is pretty good
cant find a mod for burn dot either gg
ok well guess ill just ask in general, any changes or bugfixes that werent listed in the patch notes, or is what it says what we got
Is it normal to randomly combust as engi for no reason? im using the fuel array ( while not going below 50% ) and I randomly get hit by some orbital strike from the heavens
3 runs in a row ive died to this
so when they get 50% I also die?
thats dumb
I mean, it'll make the turret explode
but if you're close enough to it, it can damage you
thats the thing, my 3rd run just now, I was nowhere near them and I get killed
what killed you on the end screen?
just said me cuz I died to my own fuel array when i got bombed
got me from 400 to 23
then boom
in that case it's kinda impossible to say, besides an enemy hitting you
I can promise that there is not a hidden game mechanic where engie randomly has a heart attack and dies
I was fighting a Halc shrine but the boss dude was on my turret which was on the other side of a hill
I guess my engi had 3 strokes then
ig try to get a recording next time if happens
mechanic where standing still too long with bungus builds make engi get increased chance of heart attack from no exercise
halcyonite does have some incredibly janky hitboxes, but if you weren't close to it then it prooobably wasn't that
whats funnier is how I had a bubble on my turret so there shouldve been NO way I coulda got hurt anyways
you would be amazed how bad the bubble is at protecting you lol

well if ur outside bubble and enemy is inside, they can shoot through at u
i think (?) been a while since i used bubble
true
but I wanst near it anyways
wasnt*
I guess my engi had to many slugs and decided it was time to keel over and die
i think bubble is quite nice when it works well, the problem is that under hard situations, its hard for it to work well
it works great until it doesn't
and when it doesn't, you're probably screwed
swarms of elders running over, long downtime, doesnt help when u have to constantly run, etc
missiles can help do some damage from afar in those situations after youve managed to escape or kill some priority greater wisps or whatever earlier etc
Anyone have any tips for monsoon?
I'll take the missiles any day, infinitely better to just keep moving instead of being trapped in a bubble and praying that it keeps you safe
try and get all the items
anything dps and status effect wise, take it
- full clear stages, try to get at least one item per minute
- never stop moving
also dont overload on mountains if ur weak unless u want to have some fun
eh, depends on stage
i had a 2 hour chef run yesterday. no looping
if it's stage 1 then you've got nothing to lose besides a few minutes, go big or go home
it was really fun but i dont recommend for winning
about how important is the difficalty timer
but if it's stage 5 and you're already struggling then maybe not
it's important, but don't stress over it
bruh, the pain I went through using Merc on stage 50 on my 5 hour run was hell
lol i went triple mountain stage 1 and then fought like 6 beetle queens for months
dashed across the map with every skill
and then later when the run was pretty weak i triple mountained on stage 5 again and fought two overloading worms for 20 minutes
the timer accelerates between stages so you really wanna make the most of every stage and full clear, as opposed to rushing straight to the teleporter
I also see why looping with merc is horrid
like I said, full clearing with an item per minute is a good rule of thumb. and it can be worth it to spend some extra time messing with scrappers and printers
looping with merc is fine just dont get 100 goat hooves
I shouldve just gotten rid of all my movement really
oh im using command
13 was bad enough
that's what
is for
now that u can ensure all ur items are good
im broke as hell
just try and get a variety usually
got 15 in my name rn
items scale off each other
exaclty im not leaving anything to chance
dont just get 10 atgs with nothing else and wonder why ur doing mid dmg
I love shrimp
yeah, don't just stack the "best" items
shrimp and collapse are insane
I usually recommend people don't play command if they actually want to get better at the game. Not having it forces you to learn how items work and how to utilize them
suppresive fire is the best skill in game
i think command is okay if u have a specific build u want to test instantly on the "best case" but generally it doesnt teach u much
ror2's items are mostly designed with randomness in mind, that's why mixing a bunch of random stuff together is more optimal than only stacking the """best""" items
a lot of rhe time i see people with command go the Same Build every time and its like ?? ok
I'm not gonna tell people how to have fun but yeah, I never understood that either lol
well mostly i think for that kind of specific gameplay, other games / genres etc would offer more than ror2 imo
I've met people who have like 50+ hours in the game, only play command, and say that they've never even touched like half the items in the game.
Like... you do you I guess, but why
is warped echo even good it seems like it just gets rid of ur one shot protection
pretty sure warped osp echo doesnt kill either
worrying about osp in 2025
but nah it's fine, it's basically just a different flavor of opal
the delayed damage gives you a chance to heal from it as it's happening
can you use armor or eg evis sojourn etc to dodge the bleed, i havent tested this
the tick damage ignores all damage resistance, but it also doesn't count against the timer for shields or slug reactivating. I don't think it prevents medkit either
well technically, damage resistance IS accounted for, but only once. Echo basically takes the final amount of damage you would've taken and then splits it up
it's also always nonlethal except the last tick
so i assume actual iframes are fine, or
yeah, you can block the tick damage with iframes
me and my friend are stuck in Balwarks Ambry and no enemies are spawning to drop the Artifact key. Weve been waiting 10 minutes and nothing has spawned
just to rule out the obvious, you did actually start the trial with the first key, right?
Bulwarks has slow spawns sometimes (especially if you're really unlucky and get overloading worms during kin) but it shouldn't take THAT long
Does anyone know if the sv_maxplayers command works in sots?
Does power elixir work on the turrets or nah?
Ik it use items and stats and such but ive never actually looked into engi
Whats the limit to what it can “use”
yep, turrets get consumable items refreshed when you build them, as long as you have a copy in your own inventory
So dio would also work? Like technically 4 turrets?
they can use pretty much anything, the only restrictions are passive minion spawns like beetle guard, and items that wouldn't work correctly anyway like rusted key
yep
lol np
imagine if you could plop a turret onto a lockbox
(to open lockbox for free)
realistically for key to work in the sense that the turrets spawned boxes, it would have to be made that they transfer over to the next stage instead of getting replaced
i.e. the devotion shipment request
although this makes me curious, if i buy a drone with microbots, and then lose the microbots, do they keep the microbots, since they transfer to the next stage? until repurchase, i would assume at least.
they'll always have them regardless of whether you have microbots or not
captain's passive gives it to them automatically, it's not tied to the item
hm, interesting
ok but what if you gain microbots via other means
well the only other way w out mods is like
metamorphisis
drones wouldn't get them unless you were captain
what the heck man
although I'm not sure what would happen if you were to play captain, buy some drones, and then change into a different character with metamorphosis. I know you keep your own microbot but idk about drones
microbots themselves aren't really special as an item, sharing them with drones is entirely a captain thing
there's also no real reason they couldn't have been in the regular loot pool
Everything about Captain is an anomaly lol
like this
?
taser's sound effect scales with attack speed
oh ok
random fun fact but this also applies to certain enemy attacks like the stone golem laser
Who is the fastest character
everyone has the same movement speed
but loader has the best mobility
merc also probably has the best mid-combat mobility
erm aktually, heretic has the highest base move speed with 8m/s
Thank you
i always forget heretic exists tbh
Is it true that the community has a lot of femboys
i think you're looking for the ultrakill community
i was so tempted to say that but thought i should leave it alone LMFAO
Also worth noting that artificer and Mul-t have less acceleration so they can feel slower, despite having the same max speed
Possibly others but I think it's just those two
rex too naturally since it's also big robot
Rex and acrid feel slower
it's probably their animation, because rex doesnt really "walk" and acrid looks like he's bounding like a dog, which we know as faster than us
Does noxious thorn affect Ruin?
I believe for Rex and Acrid it’s actually just an illusion the camera might create, since they’re bigger it’s zoomed out a bit more. I think so at least. It applies to Mul-T especially as well on top of the weird acceleration
Oh I know they're the same base speed they just feel slower due to being BIG chonky fellas
captain is a perfect amalgamation of something we just dont know the something
since they’re bigger it’s zoomed out a bit more
This is why i used to think frost relic slowed me down when it was active (which in hindsight doesn’t make much sense)
is plimp worth picking up for false son?
i think it'd help the laser a lot but since he's a heavy hitter, atg might be better
esp with the 3.0 proc coeff slam
i don't have an atg yet though
will ror2 ever have more dlcs or is gearbox's focus more on rorr atp
Both are pretty good, I wouldn't avoid a plimp just to hope for an atg
Probably will but they're only like halfway done fixing the one they just made so probably not for a while
gotcha
No one is focusing on rorr at all
The game is in development limbo
actually yes
Guys, I have ror2 on steam and it does not start, the game is stuck at 51% every time i try to play
I tried to restart steam and my PC but i dont know what else to do
I have a pretty bad wifi but it should start even offline right?
Steam library > right click on ror2 > properties > installed files > verify integrity of game files
this is basically the first thing to always try
If you have mods, I would pretty confidently say that could be a problem too, one of them being outdated
Thank you
Hey people, i am a new player. How do I get better at the game? For now I'm just trying to collect items that give lots of health and attack speed, always get smashed by final boss
try to loot stages as much as you can, and don't rush to the teleporter.
Also, diversify your items- items tend to build on each other, especially damage items. Focusing just on health on attack speed is probably hurting your runs way more than its helping
attack speed in particular tends to fall off pretty hard compared to other sources of dps due to rounding jank. The most reliable dps sources tend to be proc items and multipliers, like
etc.
it doesn't not help but lategame enemies tend to hit like a truck no matter what
And with the dlc
warped echo and unstable transmitter will get you even further
but yeah,
etc. will go a long way, since most of them effectively multiply health
just one stack of
can be as much as a 30% effective health boost while sprinting, having that damage reduction at the press of a button can save your life
movement speed is also hugely important
I would never suggest tougher over spaces
except on rex
as a loose rule of thumb I'd say the priority is Damage > speed > healing/defense.
You don't need to heal or tank damage if you can dodge it, and you don't need to dodge if enemies die before they're a threat.
Of course, it takes a while before you've got enough dps to instakill everything before it can kill you, so you want a bit of everything
But without the dlc you take tougher obviously
I don’t take ss on mult
that’s a weird choice
I dodge with power mode because I'm awesome
He’s got a gargantuan hitbox
Not as big acrid rex or heretic
Acrid has some inbuilt healing n heretic is broken
and rex hates ss
Mul t has 50% damage reduction
Also melee attacks usually come out slower and more dangerous than ranged ones, making ss great on acrid
But mult gets peppered by projectiles
not really
Unless no power mode
really hard to hit with saw movement
If you do a heretic run starting as false son, at what point do you lose the slam attack (primary + secondary)?
When you transform either I’m guessing
I really disagree with Mul t but it's w.e
I’ll take ss in the future
there's an argument to be made for tt on engie since turrets can't really dodge, but ss is better for keeping engie himself alive
That is a valid one, engineer is just quirky, though if I have
transmitter etc I want it to take damage
yeah, it depends on other factors with him
im trying to fight the seekers of the storm dlc boss, ive already killed him once and now the portal to get to him isnt showing up at all?
you can only kill him once per run
but if you're on a different run, the portals are never guaranteed. Halcyon shrines are decently common on stage 1 but become a lot rarer afterwards, although if you're on the first 3 stages of a loop then you can get there through gilded coast or a lunar seer
which map is gilded coast again
the place you get to by using a gold shrine
yeah, it depends on when you go there. It has to be within the first 3 stages of a loop, you won't get it on stage 4 or 5
the path of the colossus stages essentially run parallel to the normal stage order, and since they correspond to stages 2, 3 and 4, you can only reach them from stages 1, 2 and 3
ohh alr, thanks
what are lunar coins for
buying lunar stuff
opening lunar pods, praying to newt altars to get a portal to the bazaar, and buying stuff in the bazaar
np
After losing two absolutely insane Artificer Monsoon runs to this dude, I finally gotta ask.
How on earth do you deal with Phase 4 Mithrix???
hide behind a pillar and poke him to death
Use Ion Surge
he returns items based on total damage dealt, so it doesn't matter if he heals
It absolutely trivializes Mithrix, and is a free pillar skip
I was doing it, but I guess I just gotta play it more safe…
Ironically enough, me using Ion Surge was what got me killed.
yeah, just stay behind cover until he attacks, then hit him while his attack is on cooldown
a trick I also use is to try to stay close to him during the item steal animation and then run away at the end. That way your minions (if you have any) will lag behind and aggro to him as soon as he's vulnerable instead of following you, which gets you some safety and free damage
also if you have
, repair any dead drones to spawn turrets
Noted!
the polyp strat works wonders https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/559901542787055636/1063005517879975947/polypstrats2.mp4
okay that’s just a skill issue at that point
circle strafe
just run in a circle
do the occasional jump if you need to cuz of spinny orbs
