Anyone got any tips for dodging P3 Mithrix in E8? I can dodge pizza fine but if I get swiped/hit by the adds and need to heal up when I run away from Mithrix he'll dash up behind me at lightspeed and cave my head in 90% of the time.
abusing the ramps can be helpful

generally, dashing perpendicular to his degree of motion is ideal
as charlie said, use the ramps. don't ever be on even ground with mithrix.
also, ads should hopefully not get in your way too much. if they become too overwhelming, move to the other side of the arena

well, rex is pretty bad but imo not as bad as mando
something you should know about e4+ mithrix in particular is that the extra move speed tends to make him overshoot his dashes, depending on the situation it can actually be better to dodge towards him so he winds up behind you and misses the swing

yeah, that's also a good strat. Most tricks for Mithrix boil down to abusing his dumb AI and him being limited to melee, lol
my favorite thing is an equipment drone with primordial cube, it'll bully him the entire fight and make it ten times easier

not strictly hitless, taking damage to barrier won't fail the challenge so topaz brooch can be helpful
and hits blocked by iframes or tougher times won't count ofc. but yeah, for the most part you just have to not get hit
Cabbages' guides in #prismatic-trials might be helpful, they should be pinned
sometimes it's better to just wait for a better seed though. Command helps a lot, and anything with glass is almost always doable

like I said, if you want you can just wait for a glass seed, it makes it pretty easy
you'll have enough damage to kill anything easily, and you barely have any health anyway so the hitless part doesn't really matter
though that would probably take longer than just practicing 😅

but you can practice up to an ethereal level in a week easily

you can always jump over their shots, that works pretty well. and it's not like merc has any shortage of movement options
your dash can kill groups of them pretty consistently, or your special. And both give you iframes
Bonus fun fact: if the second stage is sky meadow, you don't actually have to beat the stage, you can just go to the artifact portal and leave

the 5 minute rule isnt really a thing
if you have more items than minutes elapsed you're doing good
and certain items it's definitely alright to spend extra time for
like spending 5 more minutes on aquaducts as loader for the bands
generally if you spend 5-10 minutes fine tuning your build, (if it was for a good reason) it will make you powerful enough to handle the extra scaling
rushing is never a good idea, items are how you get stronger
a good rule of thumb is to get everything on a stage and leave with more items than minutes
and yeah, it can also be worth it to spend some extra time messing with printers and scrappers and the like, the important thing is that you're not wasting time without getting anything done
basically you want efficiency, not just speed
spending 15 minutes doing skyrim mountain climbing to newt
Even as a new player I realized 5 minutes a stage will make you have no items while still getting out scaled in the same stage I would if I full looted
it's also needlessly biased against less mobile characters
Loader can run laps around a stage in 5 minutes, her only bottlneck is gold
meanwhile Engie or Captain are gonna struggle to get around a stage in 5 minutes and still get enough loot, at least early on
there's also the fact that enemy gold drops scale in real time while chest prices only update at the start of the stage, so by rushing you just make farming even slower because the chest prices keep catching up
Even pre sots I've been on stage 4 with 1 move speed item as captain

Definitely helps a lot. Stage 4/5 has enemies that will chunk your health pretty badly and it's very hard to dodge them with no movement speed
If u want false son and some additional content yeah but most of the items are greens made reds and alot of bad greys but sotv is much better

mithrix is basically a movespeed check 😖 if you dont have some form of movement speed in the form of low cooldown abilities or general movespeed, mithrix will hit you a lot, and unless you have insane damage he will simply outlast you in the game of attrition
if you arent confident you have enough movespeed for mithrix, try oblitorating instead 😊
but yeah movespeed generally directly translates to your ability to dodge, so as others have said its really really useful. not necessary imo though! ive had some successful runs with little to no speed

- randomly disconnects ALL NON HOST PLAYERS at the same time, ussually around stage 4
- need cross play on to join players, as with it off, non host cant go in the run or survivor selector
- cant do lobbies in private mode, friends only and public lobbies only
- player names not appearing
- occasionally laggy, in rather unusual ways, this SPECIFICALLY, could just be me but im not sure.
- host cant vote for artifacts if player voting is on
- command feels laggy, idk if its multiplayer tho

I'm late, but its because shurikens actually have a slight homing effect. But it's super janky and likes to home in on the wrong target sometimes, so it ends up curving in weird directions

apparently it's mostly similar to how huntress does it, but where huntress just sorts targets by distance, shuriken uses this nonsense

I think the idea with the homing was that you could aim your primary normally and the shurikens would pretty much aim themselves, but the wonky targeting kinda defeats the purpose

but I do know that Rex is one of the only survivors with enough healing to sustain barrier, so it'll probably do something, at least
the main issue with aegis on rex is that you only profit barrier when youre at full hp
so its easy for your healing to just heal, or you get a lil barrier and spend it
but
i dont take it on him often so
they said they're using robo m2 and utility, so they might be at full health more often than rex usually is
tangling growth is still gonna eat up barrier tho
ironically if you were on e8 I'd say aegis might be a decent choice, the extra health could matter and you'd be using growth sparingly
Is barrier loss counted for curse? Only done e8 on huntress and I barely took damage let alone barrier damage

well you just get the clay dunestrider on aqueduct and shove it into a pit with your shift ability

the boop can shove dunestriders around if it feels like it, it's kinda finicky
but other than that it's sorta just a matter of restarting until you get a dunestrider on stage 2, I recommend turning off SotV so you don't get Aphelian
The fact it's so specific is kind of unfortunate because treeborn and aphelion are much easier maps to do it in
But that's just the nature of the unlockable skills
it's a really random thing to have to do, too
like, it's kinda funny that you can do it at all, but I don't think that makes it worthy of having an unlock tied to it

usually its just finishing the run before you get outscaled, like hard rushing teles
but since you dont get items to scale you up once you fall behind things can get rough. especially if you play a weaker char
like lodr is the best option probably bcuz fast, and thats what speedrunners do i think
hmm. fair its definitely a weird question. soemtimes i just enjoy a bit of simplicity and playing with the base kit. definitely niche though
if you used command you could try to focus on more generic effects
which would be less noisy but still give some scaling

Bandit with desperado can scale on its own and acrid's poison isn't heavily affected by items so it generally stays good, one of those could work kinda well but I don't think it'd be much fun personally
I believe itemless is most possible on loader acrid and railgunner
Loader can just insta jump to tp, acrid never gets out scaled in damage rg is just built different (I've seen e8 itemless rg runs its awesome)
There's also mods like item blacklist or command queue you could use to reduce the item pool to basically just invisible stat buffs (crit, delicate watches, crowbar, goat hooves etc) to make the command idea a bit easier/more convenient
railgunner is painful imo. her damage just doesnt scale well?! so you can eventually need 7< hits on a golems crit spot to kill it…
even though shes my favourite character…
along with acrid
I don't think itemless simulacrum would be possible, at least not for very long. In normal runs you can at least try to beat the timer, and you can get drones for healing and some extra damage

yeah ive tried it and not got too far. like wave 20, but with lots of attrition
I know some people also do merc itemless, but it's definitely harder than loader or acrid. Merc's kit has this funny paradox where he essentially gets stronger the more overwhelmed he is, so you can keep up with scaling pretty well
the key is just knowing how to utilize expose
more enemies surrounding you = more expose procs = shorter cooldowns and more damage
yeahh merc has been surprisingly fun and easy ever since i turned off sprint sensitivity reduction lol
yea the main thing about itemless normal runs, is that the stage mult is exponential... so if you keep the timer mult low it has less of an impact
but once it catches up it catches up hard. ive never tried simul but honestly because no timer someone like acrid might maaaaaaaybe have a chance to abuse his worst playstyle, hiding and letting poison do aaaaaaaall the work slowly lmao
About to buy Risk of Rain 2 but am probably not going to download the DLC. Will I still be able to play with people who are using DLC content?

well, right now they're working on getting the most recent expansion fixed and rebalanced

highest hp an enemy can have is 9, and lowest dps you can have is like 2, so
itll still be way harder, but the enemies wont take forever to kill

Whats the, if there is one, best spot for spawns in vields? I may or may not be sacrifice grinding in vields
the best spots are probably on the tops of the hills, easy to kill enemies from up there and grounded enemies can't easily reach you
theres not really a best spot for causing enemies to spawn at certain rates
the directors will get income at a fixed pace, so if they decide to wait theyll just spawn something bigger (which means higher drop chance)
i used to stand behind the lil rock thing near the cliff under the portal when i did the funny back in the day, the cover helps avoid random shenans so its a decent place to idle overnight lol

Plus the usual proc items, damage multipliers, move speed, etc. that are good on anyone

not really, but that's hardly a reason not to take it if you're running mobile turrets
at least not well enough to warrant it in the same way you would bungus
they do sprint but only when far away from you, yeah
and elixir is a good replacement for bungus

every time you rebuild turrets they get their consumable items refreshed, as long as you don't lose your own copy of the item. same with dio and larva
Healing isn't the only thing turrets can use
that too
why visions
it's an overall dps upgrade for both turrets, and it's less awkward than his normal primary
the downside is that the delayed damage can sometimes make it easier for enemies to get close to his turrets, and they tend to waste shots
that's only really a problem for stationary turrets though, for mobile turrets it's almost entirely an upgrade. Plus it fixes an issue where shurikens don't fire consistently with their normal laser

How many void items should I aim for on Void Fiend if I want to keep access to both forms? Like 13 for the infinite healing? I'd also like to know if corrupted suppress is really that worth using, since sacking 25% of my health for an extra 2 or 3 seconds of high damage seems extremely risky

a couple extra seconds being corrupted isn't all that important, and with decent crit chance you can pretty much stay corrupt as long as you want

admittedly I've only done a few runs with him but he's been really strong every time, although he does feel a little awkward at first
you basically use lunar spikes to mark targets then beat them to death with the club's charged attack, and use laser to get your spikes back
yeah he still seems mid when compared to railgunner or loader
there might be a more optimal way to play him but I'd have to do more runs lol
the only part of his kit I'd say isn't great is the uncharged primary
in my experience he's easily on the same tier as them

tl;dr usually you'll stay in uncorrupt mode most of the time, use your special occasionally to hover at around 75% corruption so you can quickly heal or go corrupt whenever you need it, avoid %-based healing items that you can't easily control like wungus (slug is fine tho, regen doesn't count towards corruption), otherwise he's an all-rounder for items so most things will work

Is huntress just bad or am I bad? Her damage feels very lacking, she has virtually no survivability, and her mobility is honestly kind of lackluster since my options are either very long cooldown or exclusively horizontal dash
her biggest strength is her ability to put out damage almost nonstop for very little effort, and her mobility is pretty solid
her damage is really really bad, comfortably lowest like her entire kit getting perfect value off CD is less than caps m1, and shes the only character in the game with a base health down (and no armor or bonus regen to show for it)
considering the targeting can be annoying sometimes, and with some practice its not hard to have consistent output on other survivors, she comes out being pretty weak overall... so its tougher to stick runs with her. if you have good results with other chars then you might just need more practice with her to stick runs more easily, since youre effectively starting off more behind than other chars (esp like lodr or bandit or smth)
She's not great but she's far from unplayable
Her damage may be bad but it has some of the better potential, similar to commando
There's not a lot of items she doesn't use well, besides like health items
And her survivability is good, but it's a don't get hit mentality, due to being frail
The always sprinting while firing singlehandedly keeps her afloat
Only use your skills when you have time, or prefire your R as to not hover in place
also if you don't have the alt special priorize trying to get it, it's pretty much a direct upgrade and can carry your damage early in a run before you start getting stuff to proc with the m1
arrow rain just doesnt have good damage or coeffs for its CD yea

yeah, it's totally viable, you just have to be aware of your surroundings and not get tunnel vision
sprint to reposition to safe space, then use m2 to spam enemies, when they reach you you just repeat that again
alternatively you can m2, m1, let go m2, ctrl
in a quick succession many times
it doesnt punish for missed shots like m99, but it does lack the pierce and maybe has lower dps
its an easier tool to use that can get very flashy if mastered
the dps is a good bit lower than the m99 assuming you consistently hit perfect reloads, but the hh44 does have much better attack speed scaling and is a little more flexible in general

just loop until you get an overloading worm to spawn, basically. On monsoon you typically start seeing them around stage 8 or 9, although you can sometimes get them earlier by stacking enough mountain shrines. Lower difficulties will take longer

voidling takes an eternity to kill
according to wiki data, mith is 1k base hp with adaptive armor, voidling is 2k base with adaptive, and FS is 1.2k with no adaptive armor.
I just did a few tests with the timer and stuff putting enemies at level 83 and special scaling hp multiplier to 12.32, and got ~315k for mith, 378k for FS, and 630k for Voidling.
So yea not even close, double base and adaptive armor to boot
that also means FS technically has the least effective health despite having more than mithrix
well, sorta depends on how quick you kill it
if you did 1 damage per second it would have more than mithrix
yea. he technically has more base armor, being 23 which is a weird number, but considering AA goes to 400, 3 bonus base doesnt compare at all.

so it makes sense that that still triggers a large amount of AA

usually it's primary to set up expose, dash, then special, with secondary thrown in as needed to stall in the air or just for damage.
that's a very loose rule of thumb though, it depends on the situation. The important thing is that you're using all of your skills often, take advantage of the fact that merc's cooldowns can be practically nonexistent with good expose usage

plimp doesn't inherit damage types like behemoth does, so it would instantly consume the expose but it wouldn't add any extra
Yeah, the important part is it instantly lowering cooldowns
Plimp is good for swinds spam iirc
it's only the last hit of swinds that applies expose, and it can only hit up to 3 enemies at a time. So with plimp + behemoth you'd get up to 6 total exposes, and if you're far enough away you might still have missiles in the air that'll consume the two stacks of expose almost instantly
so yeah, with the right conditions it'd be very spammable
Even if not 0 cooldown, 2 second or less is a great improvement

I'm not sure if you can still enable cheats in vanilla... There's a mod that unlocks and upgrades the console called debug toolkit, that's what most are probably using

There are a few ways yes
You can roll pots onto them which is the most famous answer, but its very frustrating and 90% of the time i find it not worth the time.
Engi turrets can press the buttons, i think caps beacons can, maybe effigy of grief pillars. I know loaders pylon can but thats VERY annoying to line up since it tries to bounce off the ground and float
But if you really want in you can try getting nearby pots onto the buttons with any character.
Technically you only need to manipulate one button since you can stand on the other normally.

I don't remember all the ways anymore, theres a good amount actually. Though many will depend on your circumstances ofc, like having a certain equipment
if you have chaos for some reason and any equipment that can be used without specific condition I guess eventually it will work out

the pot physics are different from how they used to be, these days pot rolling isn't really worth it unless they're already close to the button or you have an easy way to move them without blowing them up, like railgunner's mines

you do get windows where you can attack with your primary but super tanky bosses are when poison is at its strongest anyway

How many desperado stacks would one typically have by the time they start the teleporter as Bandit?
He seems cool and his playstyle is pretty straight forward I think, smoke bomb, run behind, nefarious back shots for crits, desperado finisher
Really depends I tend to have 40 or so the first couple stages but once procs start snowballing it gets harder and harder to properly finish enemies off with it unless you're actively farming
yeah, 40 is pretty average pre-loop
after that it really depends on your items, you need enough damage to farm effectively but not so much that enemies die to stuff other than your revolver
