this game is far too complex to answer that properly, but typically people tend to go for as many as they can get.
also pro tip: using command feels like a nice power trip, but its basically cheat mode. so is sacrifice. admittedly i personally used it in the early game for a bunch of the achievements, but relying on it for regular "just having fun" runs tends to turn you into an unskilled player. if youre enjoying it, sure do what you want, its a singleplayer game, but i speak from experience when i say that enjoyment tends to wear off quickly. its much more fun to work on improving your skills. besides, getting randomized drops is typically good for teaching you what items are and arent good as you kinda get forced into just rolling with what the game gives you and trying it out
I've never thought of sacrifice as a cheat mode. It just changes the way items drop. Sure, you can get a LOT more but its not really "cheating"
Command I feel depends on the person. I personally don't think its cheating but you do, etc.

was at like 75% hp, took that jump pad on sky meadows that takes you cross map...died on impact
i think jump pads should give you fall damage immunity until you either hit the ground or use an ability that moves your character
oh yeah i always found it really weird that jump pads could punish you for using them
its a good thing half the survivors have some way to negate fall damage because if they didnt jump pads would be way more annoying
imo it only really feels like cheating if you abuse stage 1 and get like 200 items and then obliterate everything in your path after that but it takes so long to do that anyway
What is Acrid In base of Terms? (damage Dealer? or movement or Whatever) Because my Friend took The Items That he needed from a Guide and He didnt do Any damage At All, He basically Just Ran away 24/7. Any advice?
well he doesnt hit very often and his main source of damage is his very powerful poison so you kind of just hit and run
mobility is good since it makes his shift skill launch him further, aoe or on kill items such as gasoline are also good on him since he's likely to have a lot of enemies low at the same time
although if you're running blight things you will have to be more aggressive
generally its not a good idea to melee with him but if you feel like you wont be punished for going up to an enemies face and spamming m1 you can do that
A big big part of the game experience at core is navigating stages efficiently, using your time wisely, deciding when it's good enough to move on or whether you can afford the time to try and be a bit more thorough. If you waste too much time running to a scrapper every single time you get a meh item instead of all at once later in the level, you can fall behind. Likewise, if you speed through stages and dont collect enough loot, the exponential difficulty ramping will eventually crush you. Managing your time spent and loot per stage is a very core idea of risk of rain as a concept, down to the meaning of the name.
Sacrifice ties your item income directly to the difficulty coefficient. As it gets harder, you get more loot. Its literally impossible to make poor decisions or have poor play related to your planning, because sacrifice is constantly recorrecting for you. Spent too much time? Doesn't matter, timer is up so more items for you now to correct. Speedran 4 stages and only have 3 items? The difficulty will be much higher now, you'll catch up quickly.

Its not necessarily bad and it can be fun, but the only real strategy is pushing until its just barely too hard, and then coasting your higher drop rates until its time to ramp again. Going too slow won't punish you, so the only mistake you can make is realizing you are behind but still aggressively spamming stages without getting any items. And even then, the drop rates can get high enough that you'd have to be purposely skipping dropped items in order to fail
you can also cancel the melee animation by sprinting, if you sprint as soon as you hit an enemy with m1 you can cancel the rest of the animation and attack again immediately

Youd be surprised haha, poison isnt as crazy as it sounds. A hit and run style can work, but higher aggression abusing his mobility and increased base damage+regen+armor is usually more consistent

In which case just generally good items are safe, proc chains, mobility, some stuff can help his regen from bite or 3rd m1 feel better like tougher times letting you stay aggressive for longer, focus crystal is a great pickup
i like a couple of mobility items like goat hoofs and energy drinks along with maybe focus crystals or ap rounds or delicate watches which can increase the poison damage, gasoline and will of the wisp are nice and unstable tesla coil is pretty good on him

Ceremonial daggers can be nice with poison since they can help chain reactions finishing off low hp enemies
oh yeah on kill items in general are nice on acrid
They're almost always great but when you are prone to getting enemies at 1hp its quite nice

some of the proc chains i see on daggers are nuts every enemy just dies by themself
Reminds me of the first times using command waaaay back in the day, my go to memery was trying to stack so many wisps that one enemy dying nuked the entire stage, with daggers to pick off the next wave lmao.
I had a friend who kinda struggled with the game normally so they liked to mostly play command and they would get jokingly mad at me once the wisps hit critical mass lol.
maybe i should try that sometime i havent played with command in a while
its probably not better than proc chains, though nowadays forgive me please makes it extra broken. if you were gonna mess with it you could try without first, its funnier when enemies actually spawn a few time but FMP makes that just never happen haha
at some point i did the same thing with only gasoline because of how the burns stack up, waaaay slower but much funnier
proc chains are probably the most effective but its command so you can basically do whatever and youll eventually reach a point where everything just instantly dies
It's less immediately good but wisp and gasoline have some of the best stacking in the game which is why it gets to the "everything dies immediately" point faster

the damage of other proc items scales faster than the damage of wisp and the aoe of uku scales faster than the aoe of wisp, so overall it should reach the killing everything point faster

i'd say my most likely guess is it for some reason stored the beetle guard damage to be split when he got it? that or the huntress damage

Damage would take a bit to calc some estimates but I'd bet damage on wisp is higher as well

radius on ukulele isnt as important as on wisp with infinite pierce and damage scaling
generally stop at like 3 ukes
also this is just us talking about scaling, haven’t even mentioned the fact that you need damage and procs to make an on-kill build useful in the first place

Let's assume there's the exact max number of enemies these ukes can hit (41) in range, and we're using commando
On average, one full shot of his primary will deal 24,480% base damage with this setup
One enemy dying with the wisps would deal 11,270% base damage per enemy for a total of 462,070% damage
You'd have to shoot his primary 19 times to beat the damage of one single enemy dying
The suggestion of sticking to 3 ukes and going with 27 atgs instead does work better, changes it to an average of 14,465% damage with only needing 7 enemies which reduces the wisp damage to a total of 78,890% damage, or only needing to fire his whole primary 6 times to match one enemy dying
For FMP curiosity, I used a capacitor hit instead which ends up at a total of 72,324% damage with one capacitor hit vs 632,120% damage with one FMP usage
you really took those numbers seriously huh, they were just a random example I picked based off of 20 uku’s being the maximum effectiveness
I also used other numbers, they all end up with similar results. The point stands regardless of what numbers I use, you're free to give others for me to try if you want

its fucking hilarious. the laserfathercharged has the fire freq in it. the state isnt destroyed when FS body clone is
this is how the tick rate increses
notice that its no =? its not setting based on your AS. its adding to it. its never reset.
so not only does the laser not reset between runs, every time this code runs, the laser freq is added to again, not set
which means... you guessed it...
its completely fucked
every time the laser is fired the AS scaling is added. so every use compounds and added the AS boost again
over and over
so if you any AS buffs, every single time you use the laser it gets multiplied up by that
so it ramps AS inifinitely for free, AND it persists between runs

because my AS is 15, 30% of that is ~4.5 or so, so its adding 4.5 to the tickrate with each use

you should be able to get some pretty decent buffs in a real game just using stuff like gorags or war horn. or both

Happened once when I opened it and it immediately semi highlighted all interactables within a certain range. Not as bright as normal but had the outlines. This one is just mind boggling to me

there isn't a single bad skill for him but regarding utility and special, it's better to use both alts or both defaults because they synergize well into the playstyle

his m2s are mostly personal preference. most people prefer default because it offers more interesting things. it's easy to do trimps, can hit tons of enemies for AOE and is a small dash if you don't have much movement speed. and alt gives you more damage, more air time and it transforms backup mags into hopoo feathers because it acts like an extra jump almost
and regarding his utility and special, default for both is a more evasive and playing it safe playstyle, and alts is more damage, more range and less cooldowns
the potential of the safety that all default gives is huge. if you master it you can never lose a game because of the sheer amount of iframes and mobility merc has

I Have a Problem With me and My friend, Everytime We get In a Multiplayer Game it Starts Lagging, Wether hes the host or im The host. And In Other Games it isnt Like That Is there A Way to Fix this?
first, if you have crossplay enabled, both of you turn it off (unless you're actually using it). crossplay is glitchy and it's best not to use it if you don't need to.
If it's not that, then do you guys live far apart? Ror2 is peer2peer so if there's a lot of distance between you or one of you has bad internet then multiplayer may not work well
we will try that with the crossplay, I Dont live far away no. And how said our internet just goes fine in other games

well, a lot of games use dedicated servers which helps if there's distance, but if you're not far away then that's not an issue. Could definitely be crossplay though

In my case, if i find a printer for the top 3,I'd convert almost all of my whites to those in the first 2 stages, even if it means sacrificing health or movement. How important is crit? I was wondering if it's worth converting crit to proc items If i didn't find synergy items
Hi sorry to ask not sure if im in the right place but ive just bought the seekers of the storm dlc on ps4 and when i load the game up to play, it shows a padlock over the dlc icon , have i missed something?

So, I've heard a lot about prayer beads being good, but I don't fully understand what they do. Like, if i took 20% of your damage and gave 20% back, you would still have your base damage?

Like I see "Grows in power by absorbing experience, storing 20% (+5% per item stack) of player stats per item level up. On removal, gain all stored stats." but it doesn't sound like it would actually help me

Its worded poorly but you dont lose anything while beads are active
There's also of course the infinite stats thing but it does require finding a printer with them
each buff stack will give a certain % of your normal level up stats. the beads store copies of your exp so nothing is ever lost, its just bonus. when they are removed, base on how many stacks you have (its bugged rn so its how many after removal) you'll get the stored level stats. so thats 30% hp, 20% damage and regen per level. if you end with one stack of the item (such as by scrapping 11 or using a printer with 2) then you will get 0.2x the stored level stats.
so if you store 5 buffs, and end on 1 stack, each buff gives 1/5 of a normal level. because 5 buffs, thats 5/5 so 1 full levels worth of stats
and ofc stacking should add 5% per, so like with 2 stacks at the end you'd be getting 25% per buff, so 4 = one normal full level up.
the funniest issue though is that it doesnt trap for 0 item stacks, so if you get rid of them via printing or scrapping or whatever and have 0 beads at the end, you'll get 20% +5% * stacks-1. with 0, thats 20% + -5%, for 15%. so it takes like 7 buffs or smth to equal a normal level up
having more stacks stores more exp, so even if you end up scrapping with 5 stacks which is the same as anything <= 10, its not wrothless because you'll have been filling them up faster beforehand
also i dont fully understand it yet, but the exp income is reduced by how many stats beads have cumulatively granted across all payouts. so while a printer can be inifinite stats, it will start to slow down after a while
if you get a printer and are willing to lose all or most of your greens, you can print all into beads and then using the printer will only take 1 away, which leaves a bunch of stacks so the payouts will be much larger
if you had 20, printing 1 down to 19 would give like 1.1 levels per buff stack. so 10-20 buff stacks will give over 10-20 levels worth of stats which is pretty good

it works, i got high AS with syring, ramped to 60, then tossed the syring and gave a bunch of light flux. 10% attack speed but no charging required, just tap fire and it goes. and the CD being so low means losing duration doesnt matter

correct every time you use the laser, it adds the expected AS scaling
so it ramps the tick rate infinitely every time you use it. more AS = faster ramping
once youve got 60 (i assume) you max the tickrate, and so having basically no attack speed doesnt matter. its still adding a teeny tiny amount, but its already maxed
i always thought it added damage tbh, until i read fireFrequency
i went from like 62.3 to 62.4 from one use, but its not going down and its over 60 so it doesnt matter

i've spent like 10 extra minutes for some extra items before
the 5 minute rule was like really really early on streamers and stuff assumed it made the most sense, but it never had any testing behind it. it latched on because it was said early before anyone knew better
also "my streamer said it was good so it must be true" is a mindset people have
but not all streamers are experts either
in reality its better to get everything you can (within reason but you get a feel for that over time), and just try to learn to path stages more efficiently to improve
more items = more power, and more stages exponentially ramp the difficulty. so on monsoon it gets really noticeable really fast if you arent getting enough items
items tend to ramp each other to some degree, especially damage ones, which makes having more items a lot better than face value and it already looks great at face value. having more items means you get more chances for powerful stacking or synergies
also you learn to micromanage with experience
eventually every run is a good run because you make it good
honestly just being ok slowing down will 100% lower the stress, by both removing an unnecessary stressor, but also by making your runs a bit more consistent

you still get healing but you have 1 max hp, so flat stuff is the same but a lot of heal stuff is % so its a % of 1 which is pitiful. so you cant really use healing items for stuff like nkuhanas opinion anymore

Getting caught by them can just cause trouble in general
One thing thats nice to know is that they can only latch on to you once, so if they do the tendril succ and you get grabbed but get out of range, you can go back for free
Another thing to note is that if they don’t grab you at the start then they won’t grab you when going back into the radius.
they also must finish their attack where they stand up, they cant stop in the middle. so if you have enough burst, you can try to wait for them to start that right before their hp is low enough to succ, and try to kill before they can return to neutral and use the succ
or just use it as an opportunity to deal damage into low hp range and leave before it finishes to be out of range when they start

double nvm bc literally no strategy works for me on monsoon, try to get good items, die to insanely high leveled, disproportionate enemies, try to go fast, die to weak enemies but i have no items at all

at the end of the day, its just experience with dealing with the problems and challenges that arrive during runs
if monsoon isnt fun to play on, then just do rainstorm

its better to play on a difficulty you enjoy and have fun then to just flat out drop a game you like because the higher difficulty is too much or unfun
rainstorm will improve all your general skills as well, so if you ever get to a point where it feels trivial or smth you can re-elevate to monsoon and see how it feels. the rainstorm -> monsoon change is more analogous than drizzle -> rainstorm
her gameplay completely changes based on her secondary
part of the benefit that comes with trying to clear out stages rather than speeding through, is allowing you to learn more and more efficient routes as you get comfy with the stage and different tele locations and stuff. if you arent super familiar with them yet, your clears could be slower than ideal, but you get better and faster each time you clear the stage. so if you are losing still then its possible more runs will help you clear earlier stages quicker naturally while getting the same amount of stuff, giving you more time and leniency on later stages to path and gain experience, until you are pretty familiar with most of what the game throws at you
but like a lot of roguelikes the learning part can be losing frequently for a while

heres with 2 mags, titan for more hp so its less damage.
using really low timescale to get fairly close to frame perfect it was like 1s ish between two shots with backup mag, and like 1.2s ish to just shoot reload and shoot again
so like backup mag can help to finish off some enemies or pick off wisps youd overkill anyways, but theres still incentive to just shoot and then reload
theyre pretty similar dps, backup mag will be easier cause you can spam, but reloaded shots will work better as burst for like crowbar.
joined the disc just because i feel insane, has anybody else heard a weird singing sound on shattered abodes? i restarted to get abodes a few times and it seems to come from multiple places on the map, but everytime i find a place where it's loudest, i think the source of the sound moves. my friend used debug and found the sound, but couldnt pinpoint what it was coming from
When mithrix steals your empathy cores, do your cores lose the teammate count buffs or is that hardcoded into the probes themselves?

core buff comes from an item, the item actively checks your team size. they dont gain/lose buffs or anything by dying/respawning or gaining/losing teammates. just if youve got 3, they get buffed by 3, if youve got 4 they get buffed by 4. they count the whole team size including the cores holder and themselves.
ive had a strange song-esque sound before get locked in, it was strange. it was on every map and persisted post run in the char select screen, similar to other broken infinite sound bugs. but in game, i did notice it definitely had a location, it got louder or quieter based on your distance

loaders base power level is really really high, so you can get away with not having any or many items for a little while. i think thats what speedrunners do, just shred the game with loader rushing through before theres a chance for things to scale at all

when rebar was added it wasnt an endlag it was a charge up
we all thought it was a bug when they inverted it and rebar canceling became a thing but nop was totally intended and tbh its good

esp on drizzle the difficulty probably wont catch up to 2 lodr if you are super fast like the unlock requires

My mindset is that just 1 tri tip is worse than stacking my other dps items

What about at stage 5 onwards? Where monsters don't last (or shouldn't last) long enough for a low stack of bleed to matter

depends on your time but the director income is consistent so it should be possible to determine a range tbh
i dont know though id have to check it and the best way would be doing normal runs with specifically different clear times and keeping track of the levels

There are also a lot of variables in terms of when you go where and how long you spend there
withor calc'd income to determine avg chests per time based on some ranges
I once for testing had to stay in stage 1 for 50 minutes and the enemies only got up to level 8
income and exp are directly connected, one is 2x and the other is 1x but i forget which is which

To me intangibility is things like eviscerate
The hitbox is still there but nothing except for implosions interacts with it

You could also take a closer look at the seer visuals
Usually youll be able to see at least a few defining features of the stage thats shown
Personally I was always able to determine which stage was shown once I got used to the seer and the stages
