and for that I give it a lot of credit; Metroidvanias can be impenetrable sometimes. Hollow Knight's overall design is good enough that you won't really get stuck even if you're not used to the genre and don't know what to do. It keeps thing very simple and basically strips as much out of the normal Metroidvania formula as possible.
