Because the game runs fine but everytime there are moments that are more demanding, the game slows down to keep the FPS as high as possible.

You should be looting as you do tele. The strategy with all survivors is to activate tele when you find it, pick up any loot you can afford while you kill the boss, then use tele when ready

Does remote play work with RORR? I tried playing with my friends but they couldn't join the game, even though they could join the remote play stream. For whatever reason that which eludes us, it didn't let anyone to join by pressing "any button" even though I enabled their keyboards. They could even press x to close the local co-op lobby, but couldn't join. Is the "Press Any Button" just a lie, and that we must press a specific button? I tried asking on the steam forums but still waiting on a reply, so I'm asking here as well.

if you want to play with them all on keyboard they would need a copy of the game and to play online

explanation is: in local its only one machine running the game and that machine only has one keyboard, remote play emulates all of your friends being with you on your computer but you wouldn't all play on a single keyboard

Yeah no they've all got their own rigs, we've tried keyboard enabled/disabled (within the remote settings) and yet nothing occurs. OG ROR has remote play and it has to be played through local co-op, so I would assume the same goes for RORR. If the issue was just that we needed to have an online co-op lobby + remote play, I'll feel quite dumb.

Or is it similar to ROR1 with only one keyboard user and the rest having to use controllers?

Assuming the redacted is the same thing in the logs its mentioned in them providence destroyed those warships

its theorized that the CL wasn't the 1st and there was a mission on PV before ror1 which is why they have a teleporter in their cargo hold, since the CL took another ships cargo

There are a few ways. Some are considerably easier than others. You can use DoTs, but those aren’t reliable. I used Forgive Me Please while I was in the air and he was low.

||Ok so on the temple stage there are pots on the edge of the towers (outside) that hold a battery, once you get it go to the dancing golems on the final stage and head behind to put the battery in the equipment box. Next run on Rainstorm+ the box will appear on the 2nd stage. Grab it and then on stage 3 you have to activate the tp between 22-23 minutes, then stage 4 look for robomando, activate it an be killed by him||

there is the slightly better ui mod which adds the item descriptions from the menu into the game itself

and i think there's one that replaces the laser sight legendary with low tier god

but that's it for modding as of now

you can't use the thunderstore app / r2modman to get the mods though, you have to manually install them

maybe when it gets official support later it'll be able to be installed that way

1. per #risk-of-rain-returns message , "non-workshop mods are supported and handled the same as workshop mods." this means a thunderstore page would work fine, the devs want tools like that to be usable
2. the (very small) RoR:R modding server has a team (not associated with hopoo games) actively working on a modloader, and sarn frequents the development channels, often providing insight into how the game handles things to support development. this doesn't confirm anything, of course, but i wouldn't be surprised if this fan-developed modloader became the official modloader; Slay The Spire did something very similar for their 'official' mod support

So I’m new to Returns and I have like, 300 hours on Risk of Rain 2 so it’s a very jarring change of pace, is there any general tips to have? I’ve beaten the final boss on rainstorm once so far lol (Also is monsoon harder in this game than in 2 cause holy difficulty scaling)

But don’t jump constantly, because some enemies can still hit you if you constantly jump

Speed is king and speed is rare. If you see mobility in a multi shop you almost always want to take it. There are very few items that increase speed (I think harpoon, goat hooves, arcane blades, mocha, whip, and burning witness [boss drop] are all) Healing is much better than in two (prophets cape is like safer spaces on steroids) but still shouldn't necessarily be relied on. Despite this, items aren't as important as they are in 2. Flying enemies suck so prioritize or run from them if possible. Like cat slug said, worry about time. The five minute rule is actually useful in this game. Also I have no evidence to prove this, but chance shrines are rigged I feel like they have like a 60 percent failure or something.
That was a little rambly but you might get the gist.

Firstly, learn the maps and how to best traverse them. If you want consistent wins on monsoon, you should be able to know which way to go the moment you spawn into a stage. Secondly, utilize your items the best you can. Since there are no printers and such, you have to work with what you are given. Use bungus to heal when you can, pass over enemies more if you have the toxin, the centipede, or the fire boots, activate the teleporter earlier if you have Smart Shopper Life Savings, Razor Pennies, etc. Thirdly, learn enemy behavior. Get used to their attacks, the hitboxes of their attacks, and exploit their AI as much as you can. A good example of this would be separating them with ropes. Lastly, learn when to get in and out of combat. You can't dodge every single instance of damage in this game, you will eventually get low and will have to get out. Don't be greedy and play it safe.

I forgot about learning the maps. I found it really helpful to turn off variants when starting out so that I could get all the unlocks and pay more attention to enemy behavior and item synergies and such.
