would risk of rain returns run on an ARM cpu?
is anybody else getting skill diffed by scavenger hunt? i feel like i can't make any progress at all
It is pretty high variance, startign with left keydoor, getting Arms races and all/most 20 cost chests and then 1 200 cost chest top right usually ends up getting gold/clear

that's kinda silly, work all that time unlocking new abilities only to be like "nah, none of that for you bud"
I only have 6 characters left to do the ||final trial|| until I hvae 100% achievements, and it's agony with the default skills on some characters lol
you can technically do it by modifying the file, but personally I'll try to beat them legitimately first
Most can abuse Unstable Watch starting stage 3 to relatively easily clear it.

quick q, do shields still not count toward damage for "don't get hurt" achievements (mando, miner) like they did in ror1?
need to modify the main.trials file in the data/trials folder, and put this somewhere under the trial named "final"

I think the balance of the trial was made in mind with default loudouts and while its your game you play it how you want and have most fun i believe itll make it too easy for a good bunch of survivors to give yourself alt stuff

For the most part, tag enemies with poison and let it do most of the work. You can slime trail and let enemies run through it towards you, stun/blast with ability 2
and when a bunch of enemies are low, you can use the ult to chain reaction kill them all
if you go to the main menu and select challenges and logs, you can go to the characters tab and read what to do in order to unlock alternate abilities
Spread Utility around where enemies will be, try to land Special when there are plenty of enemies around, Secondary to possibly keep enemies in the utility pool and melee when you are feeling brave
two of them are from the providence trials
one of them is to kill the acrid boss in under 15 seconds
which is annoying since i think it only spawns on one variation of one of the level 3s

You can use the glass artifact and command to ensure a really strong build when you encounter him
Variants 1, 2 and 3. Disabling New stages from rules menu makes Variants 4 5 and 6 impossible to show up
Each stage received new variants in the remake, you can deactivate them before a run in the "rules" tab of the select screen to guarantee you'll find Acrid on Sunken Tombs
i haven't gotten those sadly, im not very good at the game just yet, okay that might have just solved my issue

The biggest tip I can give for good runs is to not dilly-dally
open a chest or two, start the teleporter, and use the money from the enemy spam to open up whatever else you can open

Yeah the RNG for unlocks is kind of agony -- like when getting the alternate huntress shot lol
The default one is better imo, but since you probably want to unlock it:
reset the first level until you get the forest stage that has the hidden golem boss on the far right down hidden vines in the floor.
Then you have to pray to RNGesus you get the acrid spawn and the secret lemurian underneath the magma area on the bottom right
Main issue with that strategy is: You "guarantee" the cognation golem by resetting the 1/12 variants (1 event boss) but lower the chances of acrid from 3/6 to 3/12 and miner from 2/6 to 2/12, and since Providence also counts as unique event new stages off is my recommendation for that unlock
I presume that you don't have Artifact of Origin for another "free" event boss in the imp vanguard the artifact spawns every 10 minutes.
If you guarantee the golem, you can go for acrid or lemurian and then just kill a wurm at the end
Has there been any talk of making 2x zoom not feel like such a huge disadvantage to play with?

Well there has been talk about better teleporter Visibility which possibly makes 2x zoom less of a pain but there are many other disadvantages to 2x zoom that are just inherent with less information at hand which I don't know elegant solution for.
Unfortunately more vision is going to win no matter what kinds of QoL is added for 2x
I just wish I could know the chests around that I could have seen at 1x somehow and I'd play 2x all day

Only somewhat elegant, no clue how hard it would be to code, "minimap" that would show interactables within certain radius that would be roughly 1x zooms amount.
Tough with that comes another thing: 1x zoom scales with resolution

Some skills can activate multiple times at one press if stacked. Is this a widespread glitch or is it just me?
For example, I had afterburner as Huntress, which is three stacks of teleport. I pressed shift once and teleported twice in a row, even though "rapid activation" setting was turned off. And similar thing has happened to many other characters.

any gamers gotten good at alt acrid yet? i been playing it every now and then and getting better at putting the bubble and puddle together for nice crowd damage. i like to bounce on the bubble to keep myself safe from ground enemies sometimes too, but i find that whenever the bubble is out its hard to go for any melees bc i push it off to nowhere and miss the explode hitbox. i could wait to put the bubble out, or put it nearby so i can build stacks then put it into position when needed, but leaving it untouched off cd and giving up the damage from it for that time doesnt sound right. maybe the corrode stacks are more valuable than i think, or maybe the melee is more for bigger single targets than crowds idk.

Are the Elites in the Judgement trial supposed to scale with player damage? It feels like I'm barely making a dent on them after the lava caverns while all the other normal enemies are already dead.

Strange. It feels like the scaling on the elites are exponentially calculated. I was able to take down the Cremator and the more annoying fire walkers in the lava caverns without much issue, and then straight up just dies after getting hit twice by an turret in the Ancient Ruins.
Could also be there's something crazy encoded in the dates for items

Guards are relatively easy to dodge. It's those claypot spider things that shoot a bigger projectile forwards. Not the green one that extends its head.
Volatile Elite* missiles still bug the hell out of me when their targeting outline only shows up when it's almost hitting the player.

Each enemy affected by the trail can be critted, and if the first tick of damage is a crit, every subsequent tick of damage will also be a crit for that enemy
I haven't tested if this triggers wicked ring's cooldown reduction but I would say no, I don't think it's a "real" crit

it doesn't actually reduce a flat 14% of damage, it gives you 14 armor
and damage reduction is equal to armor / (100 + armor)
so 10 tough times = 140 armor
140 / 240 ~= 58% damage reduction

well, if you compare them to each other yeah the percentages make sense
but only in relation to each other
for instance: red whip (60%) gives a boost equivalent to 12km/h and goat hoof (15%) gives 3km/h
so the times 4 from hoof to whip still translates with the percentages, but it doesn't convey what the actual in-game boost is
so I guess 1% is actually 0.02 movespeed = 0.2km/h ? and 100% would be 2MS = 20km/h ? that would be the base speed the boost is based on? but why do it like this? it's so confusing

What's base crit chance?
for chakrams only a small portion of the actual damage can activate items, since most of it is burn tick damage, and the same is true for flamethrower but to a bit less of an extent. result is that bleed doesn't work very well. attack speed is decent though. chakrams cycle faster, and flamethrower gets more hits #providence-trials message

bleed is fine, its total damage, you could think of it as a sticky bpmb proc that get applied over time, it just wont stack woth the fire DoT but all total damage wont
so its kind of like saying atg would be bad cause it doesnt proc on the burn

I'm playing a game as drifter rn and I keep getting frozen; all I can do is jump. I can't use any abilities or move, and then some times passes and I can move again. it's like there's some debuff affecting me that wears off. What's going on?

They all multiply together, the order only matters for rounding and damage number display.
For modifier a I just take A = damage * a
For modifier b I then take B = (damage + A) * b
For modifier c, C = (damage + A + B) * c
Works out identically to damage * (1+a) * (1+b) * (1+c)
i dont have time to read this thoroughly rn but it sounds strong
Acrid Alt primary value is really in multiplayer
You just multiply 'em together, e.g. damage * 1.1 (acrid swipe) * 1.3 (toxin)

They do, but Since the melee swipe itself deals signifigantly lower damage and doesn't have poison means you need more stuffs to push it over.

On my limited testing durning few runs it is ~6+ stacks to start being "worth it" over default Primary, and since the timeout is relatively short you need to be much more aggressive with alt primary to make it worth
In multiplayer it is insanely strong tho
i feel like the more other stuff youve got going on like bubbles popping, emerging from puddle, drones, ice crystals, chargefield and whatever else the more worth it is right? so if youve got the right stuff it can be worth even below 6 stacks? thats what id guess at least
the run i had was kinda a best case scenario cuz i had like all of that lol
Actually let me reprhase: For no lopping runs alt primary is kind of meh, instant you start looping to get more stuff, it becomes much stronger.
Since more and more of your damage shifts from your skills to items, alt primary becomes stronger, Shame heaven Cracker Replaces attacks instead of only modifying hit box of them.

If I was 100% sure on when and if numbers were getting rounded, I'd do it 
Crowbar and other damage modifiers that get added to the white number instead of getting new ones are tricky.
It'll be good enough to say that they're all just multiplication factors I think, anyway
Most likely treating arti chakram as 45% going out and 45% coming back to make for the 90% is my guess on why but wasn't aware of it keeping the burn since it doesn't keep other secondary effects and haven't really extenssively tested items

hit box is only on ground when head goes thru to be bit more specific so once head is thru get smacking with those juicy multi hitting moves on segments.

every section of the worm can be used to damage it, but you'll only get hurt by the worm if youre on the ground where it surfaces or digs back down
(except overloading worms where each section has its own lightning)

not really, this gives you by how much (in %) the damage is reduced
this formula is the damage multiplier, not really reduction, I wasn't very accurate
so damage after armor would just be damage * (armor / (100 + armor))
That would be really low though, no? for example if something was trying to deal 100 damage and you had 20 armor
100 * (20/120) = 16.6666...
that would also mean lower damage with lower armor now that I think about it

For the toxic beast stage, you can pin yourself against the far left wall and jump to avoid damage as he collides with the wall. At least that's what I did.
Or just clear out everything other than the beast first and worry about it later.
His hitbox is much smaller than the size of the body suggests
only annoying part about being right next to wall is that if ifrit's horn procs it won't go along the ground cause it gets stuck in wall

Interesting, yea I started messing around with the skill to see what I was doing wrong. Seems like whenever my character falls after reaching peak jumping height he’ll shoot it down, but at the same time he’ll sometimes shoot down when as he’s jumping. Messes me up a lot when I’m trying to quickly turn around and burst at a group of enemies.

Do acrids puddles do extra dmg when enemies have corrode stacks? I thought they didnt but it seemed like dmg numbers consistently went up as i built stacks and watched them get hit by alt puddle, even considering randomness. didnt test default puddle.

Also, when it comes to procs, do corrode stacks effect the process twice? i.e if you had 10 corrode stacks, and did a hit of 100% with a proc that dealt 3 times that (atg), would it be 100%, +100% from corrode stacks, then the proc has a base dmg of 300% (ignores corrode, only based off the initial hit itself) but does 600% on the hit (due to corrode), totalling 800%. Or would it be hit does 200%, then proc base dmg is triple that, so 600%, then on the hit it gets doubled again doing 1200%, for a total of 1400%? i cant imagine its the latter but figure id ask. hope i describee that well typed it for like 10 minutes lmao

Here's what's happening: my base damage is 1000, enemy is at 10 stacks (100% dmg increase)
- I hit for 1600 (80% * 100%)
- enemy goes up to 11 stacks
- ATG hits for 5040
so ATG did not get a 110% dmg boost, but it hit the target as if I had done 1680 dmg on the initial hit (11 stacks of corrode)
thats really weird yeah. i think that is the double dipping i was thinking of tho, just better since you get the next stack applied to the proc for some reason
which explains why its felt so strong to me late game

you can add artifacts/damage modifiers to make it easier if you want, but yes, the main idea is to just loop to infinity
3 Laser Drones can be combined in a Drone Combiner to make a Beam Drone, which is probably the more consistent way
took me like, a 140 min run to get that unlock done (standard monsoon, no artifacts/modifiers)

how do i git gud at engi? i havent unlocked his laser drones yet and the reg drones die super fast
you need to get a beam drone yeah? just loop long enough, that's it really; tho rarely beam drones spawn on risk of rain and if you buy it the achiev's done
Engi in general is a glass cannon, with much damage and no defense.
Keep moving, but occasionally stop to fire his seeking harpoons, they can track enemies from really far away.
His triple bomb main attack gives you more chances to trigger on-hit items.
Use turrets sporadically, you'll be fine while moving around with other abilities and leaving a turret in a side of the map where you don't want to with long recharge is not too good.
Spawn both turrets during teleporters, but not at the same spot, preferably by both sides to tele. Remember to also use as much mines as you can to set up traps for teleporter event. It can also be used on the move to throw off pursuers as an alternative to harpoons which freeze you in place or main attacl that slows you down.
Don't forget that your turrets have item inheritance. If you can, prioritise items that would benefit both you as a moving ranged fighter and turrets as ranged stationary draw aggros.

The aspect of always moving should be cranked to the max. The work comes with a reticle that shows from what point of the ground it will come out. As soon as you see it, run far off into the opposite direction while shooting in the general direction of the worm when it comes out. Repeat.
Also, it's multisectioned, so splash and piercing damage is good too.
I'd say, extremely good.
And also if you have timekeepers hourglass, every turret can trigger it separately
Also, if you ever see an Overloading Worm, run the heck for your life.
It never does if you're not prepared.

combine 3 of the upgraded drones
so like if you had 9 regular gunner drones and spam combined them you’d get 3 combined gunners then combine those 3 to get a golden drone

How do you play drifter? I know she is stupid strong, and I really like melee survivors, but I have never really meshed with her playstyle. Any tips? And what loadout is best?
Hit stuff to get scrap, use scrap to use busted abilities. Each of her skills are strong and are mostly preference on what to use.
For secondaries Cleanup is Proc monster while Cube attracts enemy aggro and deals absurd damage.
For utilities Suffocate is instant kill on anything under 20% and scrap generation tool while Tornado Slam is great damage and some added mobility in it giving speed and low gravity.
Salvage gives you 4 (or 6 with Ancient Sceptre) Temporary items that gives relatively big power boost for while and Recycle lets you reroll worse items in hopes for better ones (and get temporary copy with Ancient Sceptre) making Base power overall stronger.

There are 6 variants for each stage, (Excluding last which has only 2) And variants 4-6 are "New Stages" which don't have Acrid or Miners Unlock bosses in them, so if you Disable New stages before run in rules section you increase your chances of finding Acrid Having Variant from 3/12 on stage 3 to 3/6 and Increase Miner Boss spawning from 2/12 to 2/6 on stage 4.
However, you won't be able to find artifact of dissonance pieces and few other artifacts since they are found in new stage variants
