How do you do the turtle achievement? I think i held my enforcer in shield for more than five minutes and hes constantly mauled by vanguards.

I usually use more than one heart and go with moca so i can build both atk speed and speed

it makes finding the teleporter bearable, but also a bit more difficult to follow what is going on in the screen. I think most people goes for x1.0 or close to it anyway, the teleporter and chests are too important.

i have been trying for eight hours straight
had a Huntress run last night where I was able to get the Boar Beach variant twice in a row, killed both the undershirt boars and teleporter boars, then got the Acrid stage variant, then killed Providence...but I still didn't unlock the Pierce alt ability.
is the game bugged or is the wiki incorrect about Boar Beach counting for the achievement?

so how are y'all playing miner and acrid. Of the melee survivors I've played (I'm on my 4th win so haven't gotten merc yet) but those are the two that make the least sense to me, albeit for different reasons.
For miner the problem is pretty simple. Dude just has no way of surviving. I'm aware his dashes have invincibility frames, but given his back has massive end lag, it basically leaves you with only a .25 whatever second frame from his m2 which is on a 6 second cd. Maybe its jsut a skill issue, but that tiny amout of safety isn't something I can make stretch that good.
For acrid idk how to build him. I get that you don't want to play him much in melee given that he also has no safeguards to make that happen outside of a shite stun who's end lag is almost as long as the cc it applies, but idk how his abilities interact with items, because it seems like neither his slime trail nor his disesase proc anything, and if (big if) that is the case his damage should take a nose dive after just a couple stages. But people are rating him pretty highly so clearly it doesn't and I'm missing something.
I also haven't mucked with his alt abilities much at all. As fun as the teleport seems he needs the damage off slime trail too bad, meanwhile bubble mistifies me because its not like you can pull the shit you can with drifter by hitting with both your melee and your boxes, because the bubble gets pushed too far. So what just leave it in your grease trail and wait?
But yeah, reckoning I'm missing something so lemme know
The big thing with miner is simply, when scorched or whatever, secondary dash doesn't go on cool down when used, so you spend a lot of time just trying to keep that up as much as possible
Fill the bar up and start zooming around, refilling your bar any time you get a chance
Refill is pretty slow tho, at least normally, do you recomend the alt utility?
I think most people use it, I'm not mega experienced on miner, but between that and just, trying to not let it fall off in the first place, you should be able to keep it up for a long time
I do have a nasty habit of using it for map mobility, I'll try to be better disciplined with it plus use the explosion.
Also reminded that this game doesn't have animation canceling so dodging using the i frames just doesn't work on miner
acrid is good because he really doesn't need items to win

sure his damage is lower than other survivors, but his uptime is the highest in the cast
also leeching seed is super good on him
so items do or don't work on his trail+pandemic

I'm pretty sure that each tick of poison on pandemic procs leeching seed though, so that item is super strong on acrid

alt utility is not great anymore, after the iframe nerf on the dash you can't avoid the self-damage
25% hp for 25% heat is not worth the vast majority of the time, building heat is very quick
You kinda have to more or less know how enemies attack, their timings, what enemies you can stunlock etc. Just having a rough idea is good
Also, pro-tip: While Scorching your default dash has no cooldown so you can just dash>dash>dash etc, not holding the dash, but just doing another dash as soon as you can
If you hold dash it drains heat very fast
as for backblast, it takes a bit of getting used to but its nice, the hitbox is pretty big, you get iframes and it stuns
Also default m1 hitbox is really big, so you can abuse it to keep some distance

Yeah seems like since wording is "Reset cooldowns" And embryo proc makes it happen twice at the same time they act on same charges cooldown thus only resetting once.

Should since you get gold, xp (and items if boss cognition)
challange was easily done with kin + dissonance, just had to reroll a few times
For engineer Stage 3 you can pretty much sit on the upper left small platform and only Lynx spear throwers can reach you and only if they are on upper levels themselves, letting you freely spam rockets to kill everything.
Also can drop mines and turrets down by jumping back and forth the upper platforms
don't remember what the first one is but i got the max amount of barriers through a temporary item vending machine with topaz brooches, you can probably do it with glass though
Barrier caps at your max HP+Shield, so with glass and 1 topaz you need 1-3 keills to get max barrier.

Max Barrier can also be achieved with Chef's Cook, as one of the dishes just gives you max barrier
I just don't get miner. How do you not die at melee range
Sure I have iframes but it's still difficult to get melee attacks off
Not to mention blazing and overloading enemies just feel impossible to kill
Your melee has suprisingly big hit box, jumping avoids many attacks, while heat bar is full you get scorching durning which your secondary has no cooldown and taps don't take too much heat away.
scorching state lets you use your other abilities with no cooldown, it's a game of weaving basic attacks between your abilities
I lose half my health getting to scorching
So melee a couple hits, dash, melee, dash?
Also the stun on the utility feels so absurd. Half the stun is wasted because the ability sends me away from the thing I just stunned and want to hit
Depending on situation you can turn away first to backdash thru the enemies to be closer.

you can cancel backblast endlag with crush. if you jump before crush u can go a bit faster as well, helps u make the most of the stun

when you fall off a ledge it stays level with that area
you can spawn it, yeet under and move it around without having to do vertical stuff
this also counts for jumping, you can spawn it on the ground and strafe side to side through enemies while jumping and just melt
very good for clustered enemies, also works with terra surge and small enemies you cpawn sun, surg up and sit on platform while enemies run into it
you do risk standing stil though so be careful platform doesnt mean invulnerability
Also hanging on ropes/ladders lets you stay still while moving sun left/right.

My PS4 controller keeps bugging out when playing on PC. The game keeps reading the L1 button (utility skill) input as down on the d-pad. I remapped utility to d-pad down to be able to play, but this means I can't use loader's grapple at an upwards angle. Is this a known issue? Anyone know a fix?

hi i am new to rorr and i have no idea on how the combat works
you use your abilities to kill the enemies
jumping allows you to avoid most of their attacks
but do i jump and run away from the enemies or run to the enemies?
i tried both and ended up dying
recommend to play on drizzle if you are new to the game
running away is an option if you are in a situation you can't handle
have to be aware of the map though, knowing where you can flee
truth, imma try and go for that now then
but often you can run around in circles by climbing ropes/ladders and then slowly killing the enemies
if you're playing commando your best bet is to just be on the same y plane as them
i like acrid but i just keep dying over and over

if you've already made it to acrid id say you've done pretty good progress
acrid is one of the easier survivors to play, just use sludge and epidemic and then those will kill them while you are running around
also yeah, you aren't that new if you unlocked him
acrid isn't that hard to play, keep in mind that even if you feel like you're running around doing nothing you're still getting that damage racked up

grab some backup mags and cooldown reduction as soon as you get the chance so you're not completely defenseless if your primary gets locked out
also much easier in multiplayer if you have the option
These artifacts are only needed, I personally like to enable Prestige aswell to spawn more enemies for boss to get more items, one of first greens I recommend Prophets cape, Hopoo feather and ~5 Clovers

I also did it in multiplayer which makes it way easier
and bandit in particular having lights out means you always have at least one reliable attack no matter what distortion is locking out at least until lights out isn't one-tapping stuff
which takes a good long while with glass on (and 200/10 rules) especially if you're picking up crowbars occasionally
huntress alt secondary would be similarly helpful for about the same reason

Basic, pick versatile survivor (bandit is decent), game intensity to 200% damage 10% damage taken, Drizzle, if you get lucky, first red ceremonial daggers makes most of the run relatively easy. few clovers as first greens topaz brooch as first white should set you up decently enough

im assuming default kit correct me if im wrong.
Chakrams: They get sent out, spin, then come back. They hit for a small amount of dmg on the way out and in with full piercing but only the first hit procs items. All of the 5 spin hits can not proc items, and can only hit one enemy each, but apply burn. This means they scale poorly with crowd size and items, but their base damage is so high that they function well throughout a run anyway. Ideally, you want to keep enemies on the spin hitbox, but that takes some setup, so for weaker enemies you can rely on the small send/return piercing damage decently. Ice wall is the easiest way to keep enemies in place for the spin hitbox, but being across a gap they can't cross works too, as does forcing them to jump up a step, as they stop for a moment before doing so, and chakram hitbox stretches downard enough to hit them before and after they jump. Against large crowds in a line, turning around and throwing them will likely result in all the spin hitboxes hitting an enemy as the crowd walks through it. If you're quick with inputs, you can jump + turn around, start throwing chakrams, then immediately start moving away from the enemies again and you'll maintain a lot more speed than the slow backwalk. Limiting yourself to two chakrams on a full jump means you'll finish the animation before you land and lose no speed, but tossing all four and losing some speed isnt bad either. And if you didnt know you can mash to make them go out faster.
Ion bomb: This always stuns for it's full duration, even when uncharged, giving you a chance to hit the chakram spin hitbox, but charging adds damage and aoe size. It can proc on every hit, so it scales better with items than chakrams, but of course works best on groups, so again ice wall and terrain use is helpful, especially since the stun prevents them from hitting the wall for a few moments. I also will sometimes charge, than fall into a horde from above, since the stun will keep me safe.
Ice wall: It's extremely helpful for the duration its up but if you can only function while its up you'll probably struggle, given its cooldown, so learn to use terrain, kite well, and use flamethrower safely without. You can jump then cast it to maintain speed while doing so, which helps when you want to get a wall up while running away. Also, some enemies will reach through it so be prepared for that. Parents for example easily hit past it so you have to be careful throwing your chakrams in that case. Oh, and it freezes enemies nearby when it breaks, so you have a bit more time afterward to throw chakrams
Flamethrower: This scales insanely well with crowd size, and decently with items since all the hits can proc, and it has full piercing. It's essentially your nuke button. The biggest thing to learn with this is to abuse its downard reaching hitbox, and the fact it makes you float to stay safe while using it. Parent hitboxes, for example, only hit the ground, despite how it looks, so a small jump followed by flamethrower will let you get the full duration out safely against them. Smaller enemies like claymen, mech spiders, etc also only need a small jump but some enemies with bigger vertical hitboxes like golems will require a full height jump, and others like macrobial predators and flying enemies can hit you anyway so be aware of that.

Magma worms really got me mad tweaking out here. Any tips?
- They only have hitbox when head is entering or exiting ground, timing jump to this avoids most of the damage.
- Each segment takes damage individually so attacks then pierce or are lingering some deal massive damage to the worms.
- 1x zoom makes timing the jumps easier as you can see where the worm is at most times.
