Depends on the item usually: stuff like the glasses and the umbrella for instance is additive, but other stuff like dodge chances and damage reduction is... I think the word would be multiplicative.

I've used Healing and Atk Speed ones so far, and managed to get monsoon runs done with both.
I think Healing is the most generally useful as they will save you from an untimely death and keep you topped off, while atk speed is ok but it's a lot less forgiving and you will have to get a bunch of healing items to compensate

atk speed drones pair up very well with DISASSEMBLE but hammer also likes em since they speed up the animation tremendously

Sometimes, shard of artifacts drop from Shrines when you roll instead of an item. Is it normal? I don't know if they are called shards but let's say small pieces that give faint boosts
