i think this is called actually socializing with other players and is technically a 'feature' if your speech skill is high enough

ive had people try to social engineer me, most players are paranoid so its a rough thing to do but its not impossible

how ? they cant spoof emails to make it look like it was sent from an npc can they? unless you mean social engineering outside the game but i think thats a little more difficult?

emails can be sent from npc accounts but by default the mail client will block those, the player would need to disable that setting. But social engineering does happen, both ingame and out of game
